Just got a blazing fast speed that makes me wonder what the max the phone is capable of.
My test was done on laptop connected to My One via Wifi tether. That was the speed from Verizon towers.

I fell like there is still some confusion. The test was performed on a laptop which was connected to the hotspot of my htc one which was on VZW network.
What is the fastest someone has seen from the towers?
Check this out. It is kind of old but I think the information is still valid.

I wish i got those speeds. I only get arround 8 mbps durring the day, and arround 28 late nights when the network is less congested. My best ever was 32.27 mbps, and that was at 3:30 in the morning.
Theoretical max speed on Verizon's 700 MHz band is 73 Mbps. The One doesn't support the new AWS band like the Galaxy S4 and G2 which can go up to 150 Mbps.
Of course, with Verizon's 4G network as crappy and overloaded as it is right now, you'd struggle to get 10.
I average about 30 in my area and I've had 56 at the highest.

I have seen high 40 to low 50 while driving through Charlotte nc when they first got lte. It's dropped drastically now. Where I live I get 8 to 15 and more than happy with that. Long as hulu and Netflix works all I need.

At my work I get 17-20 consistently. Home will bounce around between 8 and 18. Lowest I have seen without dropping to 3g was a 4 down the street, after having put a custom rom on my phone.
50ish is the most I've gotten so far.

I love that you rounded up, even though you're close to 50

50 was the end speed but it was spiking into 51 many times
Me still 20. Philippine's area
mine got 15-20 PH area.
me got 20-30mbps
I was at 34Mbps down and 27Mbps up in NC

I was getting 25-40 easily. Then the iPhone 5 was released. Now I only get ~ 4-5.
I've definitely seen a reduction of performance over the past year in my area. I could pull 30Mb+ even in a densely populated suburb (Philly metro), but now it struggles to hit 15Mbps in the same spot. Not that I'm complaining.
Max I've ever tested was 55Mbps in a popular mountain resort town during an off-peak season. Hopefully vzw builds out more capacity (per the link above) and keeps the speeds at a satisfactory level, but I don't expect to see 50Mbps regularly.
Hi Everyone,
Me and a couple coworkers decided to run Ookla's Speedtest and compare our results. I am concerned that there is an issue with my phone after checking the results.
One coworker is running a Sprint iPhone 6+ and is getting steady 85 Mbps up and down. The other coworker is running a iPhone 6S on Verizon's network and he is getting a solid 70 Mbps up and down. Then there is my Sprint Note 4 which is getting a max of 33 Mbps down and 41 up.
Is there a problem with my phone? We are all running on the same wifi and the tests were not run simultaneously to avoid sucking up the bandwidth. I just don't understand why my Note 4 is lagging (no pun intended) behind.
If anyone has any ideas, thoughts, suggestions, or opinions I would love to hear them. Thank you all in advance and have a great day!
Respectfully,
George D.
I noticed the speed is slower on mine too but on 4G. For some reason the 4g on Note 2 and S2 were faster than my Note 4, the signal seems to be weaker , apns and modem is all up to date so I don't understand either. Hopefully someone else can chime in.
Just wondering what your fastest Speed Test you've performed on your Pixel 2 XL.
Recently I've received a speed upgrade from my ISP that is definitely allowing me to push/come close to my Wireless-AC limits. I have a 400/40 cable line now. The devices I'm able to test with are running at 866 MBPS AC, 80 MHz channel bonding.
My devices I was able to test with are the Pixel 2 XL, MacBook Air, iPad Air 2, and a Laptop with an Intel 8265 AC chip. Also in the mix is a hard wired desktop. All capable of at least hitting 866mbps connection. RSSI around -40 dBm or better for testing purposes. All using the same Speedtest Server
My Pixel 2 XL.. I don't think I was able to get a download over 250 mbps
MacBook Air - Just hit 400 mbps
Laptop with 8265 AC - Just hit 400 mbps
iPad Air 2 - Surprisingly hit around 350 mbps one time (fluke?). Other times closer to the Pixel 2 XL speeds of 250ish
Desktop - 425mbps (i suppose ISP gave me some overhead).
Also, not 100% sure how accurate the Speed test app is (by ookla). On the Laptop Wireless As the speedtest was going on, I compared Windows mbps in Task Manager to Speed Test mbps. Windows was a bit higher.
I understand at a certain point, speed is just synthetics and you'll never notice a real world difference on a cell phone. But this is just out of curiosity.
So.. TL;DR - what's the fastest speed you've seen on your Pixel 2 XL?
Hey guys I'm creating this thread because I'm noticing dramatic differences in my data speeds compared to other devices. I was with a friend who has a Galaxy s8 plus and we did a network speed test using the speed test app. He was hitting around 17 Mbps where I was hitting only 3 in the same exact area. Is this common, if not is there any fixes? Are you guys experiencing similar variances in Mobile speed?
Not sure. I assume you are on the same network provider, and the app used the same server (which you can easily change)
Outside of that, would need to confirm you are on the same tower. there can be overlap with coverage and you could be on a more congested one.
Just my 2 cents

Okay so i have a 40 mbps wifi plan and on speedtest app i can max get is 10-14mbps, i confirmed on iPhone 8plus 6 plus nexus 6p all getting 35+ mbps with same no. Of devices connected
What is happening?
Tested on my friends pixel 2 smaller one he is getting 34-36 mbps
It has been 2+ months since i bought this device but didn't noticed it earlier
I have tested on another site as well get about the same speed
I posted this in my own thread weeks ago but no one commented anything

Yes we are we're both on the same ATT network and we did make sure it was the same server in the app.
I bought a Nexus 5X from ebay a few months ago sold as new condition.
I'm having different issues with the Wifi. First the signal strength and range are much worse than all my other devices. In one room of the house farthest from the router it loses connection every few minutes and maintains a speed test result of less than 10Mbps with 2.4 GHz. With 5 GHz it can't even see the access point.
My OnePlus 7 Pro gets 40+ Mbps on both 2.4 and 5 GHz with no issues at all from the same location.
With a different ethernet connected wireless access point in the room the Nexus 5X gets 25-30 Mbps, which is acceptable but it should be faster considering it has full signal strength.
With the phone right next to the router connected to 5 GHz it will show a full speed of 44 Mbps but file downloads (using thinkbroadband test downloads) never load faster than about 100 KB/s which isn't even close to 44 Mbps. I can't even upload to my local network file share at more than 1 MB/s.
I'm not sure how speedtest.net is showing fast speeds but file transfers are extremely slow. The signal range is much worse than any other device I have.
I had a Nexus 5 before this 5X and didn't start to have wifi issues until it was more than 5 years old. Is it possible that this phone was refurbished but sold as new? Or is this just common and I shouldn't expect better?
I've tried two routers and different Android ROMs from 6.0 up to 9, all with similar results which confirms this is a hardware issue.
I've tried contacting my ISP for these issues in the past but they always respond saying their tests show nothing wrong so its not a problem.
I have the squaretrade warranty from ebay but is it worth it trying to get this issue fixed or if i get another phone will it have the same issue?
Web browsing works fine but file downloads and uploads are extremely slow.
