Can't you just extract it from the RUU using the desktop RUU decrypt tool?

You guys think that's enough? How about the modules, did you pack them along with the boot.img. strange behavior may occur without the stock modules.....
Just saying

I just downloaded the kernel, seems to enough restoring the stock boot.img.
For example the modules, patch, ramdisk, just a placeholder for anykernel, nothing unpacked from here to the system. So basically yes.

No. You will have to flash back the stock kernel for the update to install automatically.

The stock kernel is part of the boot.img file in the factory images. Extract it for the version of Android that you are on, and flash it.

Stock Kernel?

I'm playing around with a number of configurations on my phone and need to get a hold of a stock kernel. I'm bouncing between 4.16.1540.8 and 4.16.401.10. I do have a system dump of 4.16.401.10 - not sure if there's something in there I'm not seeing.
Any ideas?

boot.img is the kernel not the bootloader. If you open any rom around here you will find the boot.img included
Nice. Ok. Thanks

What about the stock kernel modules?
Aren't they in the ROM?

Yes of course they are, the "kernel" in its completeness exists of the :
Boot.img file and the kernel module files which are indeed inside the rom.
Thought you would know that as you released a rom on the HTC one X ?

The question is, can we use ATO with TWRP installed?
Only custom roms have OTA available with TWRP installed.

Oxygen Os fails to install the OTA when detected root ot any changes to system patrition, thus you have to wait for the full zip and dirty flash over the existing. Fairly simple.
I can still do a nandroid backup and restore stock OxygenOS, correct?

You can clean flash. It is a full zip. I have restricted access to it now as I don't see anyone getting the OTA. So, it might be a mistake build. Lol.
Sent from my OnePlus2 using XDA Labs

No, you need to flash the stock recovery.img in fastboot first and then you can flash the zip in recovery/flash from local.

I`am looking for it myself atm, so i can`t help you with that i`am afraid
I (call me moron) am bricked (TWRP is installed) and looking for stock recovery also. Could someone post it, please? Otherwise I'm unable to flash a stock ROM. (TWRP does flash it, but after that it says "No OS installed".)
At least I have to wait for my new SIM cards for a few days anyway, so... never mind...

At least you have a problem that can be solved I posted a request for the stock recovery.img so maybe will upload it.
lol i guess everyone got excited and just installed TWRP off the bat, now that i have learned to pull .img files, its too late for me since i installed twrp instead of booting up, there has to be someone who had done it, i wonder why no is providing it, its a simple task.

Help needed urgent

When I flash the OOS ZIP file and try to reboot TWRP tells me "there is no OS installed are you sure you want to continue?" when I researched TWRPs official website says that I might have wiped the system image what should I do
And I want stock OOS back
just flash stock oos through the Aroma installer it will be fine.

Just note than once a kernel is flashed, you may need to reflash your currently applied phone image to get back to the stock kernel (no wipe required). I am not sure why, but the last few times I tried reverting to stock kernel by re-flashing my backup, my phone bootlooped, haha.
Perhaps I needed to remove the magisk module first, reboot, and then reflash stock kernel? Or perhaps the other way around? It's just a live and learn situation ¯\_ʘ‿ʘ_/¯

When you say you tried reverting to stock kernel by re-flashing your backup, do you mean re-flashing a stock boot image backup? If so, there are other images that custom kernels modify that also need to be flashed to properly return to stock, i.e. stock boot.img, dtbo.img, vendor_boot.img, vbmeta.img and vendor_dlkm.img. vbmeta image doesn't have to be re-flashed if verity and verification are disabled.
But yeah, may be easier just to dirty flash the factory image.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, that was clearly the mistake that I made - so thanks! I'll just be dirty flashing the factory image from now on if I want to revert to the stock kernel.
