Hi guys,
Is it possible to flash a custom kernel with stock rom (4.0.2) that is rooted?
Thanks in advance.
The kernel will have to be 4.0.2 compatible, but yes you can do it.
I have some question on this thread, If I flash the custom kernel to stock rom, when the new stock rom update launch, How do I got the update.
thanks,

No. You will have to flash back the stock kernel for the update to install automatically.

The stock kernel is part of the boot.img file in the factory images. Extract it for the version of Android that you are on, and flash it.

Hey, I tried (almost) all custom kernels but battery seems to be best at stock kernel.
So I would like to have the stock kernel but I don't know where to get the zip from
I'm running 4.1.1 Can I flash the kernel that shipped with 4.1.2 (assuming it's different and better)?
If not then a link to the kernel with 4.1.1 would be much appreciated.

Hello,
I have One X CID 102, rooted, TWRP with XM-Kernel and I got an update for 3.18.401.1
How do I update? Just confirm the download (I am on stock ROM)?
Thanks

Yes. Just confirm it. OTA will update on its own. It's a small package, too, so the update should take short time.

I have the stock .img, where do I get the modules?
Where do I get the stock recovery from?
And then I install the kernel and modules like installing XM-kernel, and after that I install the recovery, update, and then install TWRP and XM right?

You don't need modules, as you are on stock ROM. Recovevery is available in xda (sorry, can't post you a link at the moment). Make sure it matches your base (it should be 3.14).
About the sequence - you are right.
However, the easiest way for you might the the nandroid. And I would recommend it to you.
Also, once you update, and before installing custom kernel/ROM, make one backup for yourself. It will make your life much easier in future.
If you flashed the XM kernel + modules you need to put back the stock kernel AND the stock modules
Hey guys, i'm a noob here.
I just flashed my phone with cm 10.1 and i'm not getting any signal on my phone. Before this i was on 2.3.6. Anyone have any suggestions on whether i should just flash the official 4.1.2 (and if i should, do you have any download links to the latest one?) or if you have any solution to my phone signal problem.
Thanks a lot guys

Yes, it's possible. Just flash through ODIN. And after flash, reboot into stock recovery and wipe data or else you will get a bootloop.

The question is, can we use ATO with TWRP installed?
Only custom roms have OTA available with TWRP installed.

Oxygen Os fails to install the OTA when detected root ot any changes to system patrition, thus you have to wait for the full zip and dirty flash over the existing. Fairly simple.
I can still do a nandroid backup and restore stock OxygenOS, correct?

You can clean flash. It is a full zip. I have restricted access to it now as I don't see anyone getting the OTA. So, it might be a mistake build. Lol.

No, you need to flash the stock recovery.img in fastboot first and then you can flash the zip in recovery/flash from local.

I (call me moron) am bricked (TWRP is installed) and looking for stock recovery also. Could someone post it, please? Otherwise I'm unable to flash a stock ROM. (TWRP does flash it, but after that it says "No OS installed".)
At least I have to wait for my new SIM cards for a few days anyway, so... never mind...

At least you have a problem that can be solved I posted a request for the stock recovery.img so maybe will upload it.
lol i guess everyone got excited and just installed TWRP off the bat, now that i have learned to pull .img files, its too late for me since i installed twrp instead of booting up, there has to be someone who had done it, i wonder why no is providing it, its a simple task.
