Hello,
I used LineageOS with gapps. Now I want to reinstall LineageOS without gapps. I wiped Cache, System and Data and internal, the installed newest LineageOS.
Why do I get this confirmation I can't skip at setup? Did I something wrong? I am little scared why this comes up on a lineagOS ROM?!
Thanks for clearness!
I did again a wipe, also after installing lineageOS, now I was not asked after a google account at setup.

I just updated from CM9.0 to 9.1. The step I've taken is install zip, clear cache and thats all.
Now after reboot, it's like I haven't install GAPPS. I installed it when I first install 9.0 but now after flashing 9.1 (without full wipe cause it's only 9.0 to 9.1) Play Store crashes, Gmail too, no add Google account option in settings. Except for that everything is okay.
I read through posts saying installing GAPPS helps but I was wondering why, when I installed it on 9.0.
On CM9/9.1 GAPPS are wiped by installing an update of CM, flash GAPPS again.
The update removes earlier version of CyanogenMod completely in order to avoid issues.
Just reinstall GAPPS.
I updated LineageOS from 13.0-20170527-nightly-mondrianwifi to 13.0-20170603-nightly-mondrianwifi on my Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 8.4.
Everything worked well to download and install the new version.
But Gapps disappeared and I had to reinstall it. And of course, build my home screens again. Do I do something wrong or is it normal for updating this OS?
I am new to LineageOS so I have no previous experience.
It depends. You did a "clean install", wiping system, data - which is usually the safe way.
If the upgrade is minor (as in your case...) - no need to wipe system. Just install it (no need to reinstall gapps) and wipe cache, dalvik.
Hello everyone,
I have flashed and dirty flashed, installed twrp and others for years for my different phones. But this Oneplus 3 seems different.
I flashed TWRP 3.1.1-0 to it and then LineageOS official 2017-05-something, after that the Magisk 13.0 and then OpenGapps aroma. This was done with a full phone wipe (system, data, dalvik cache, internal storage, cache).
But, afterwards I noticed that whenever I installed an updated build of LineageOS, or ANY other zip, the system would act as if a full factory reset was performed! This never happened before with Cyanogenmod or any of my previous phones.
This makes updating LineageOS super tedious - as after EVERY nightly I update I have to log into my Google account, install Titanium backup and restore all apps and their settings.
Could anyone give me a hint on whether I have missed something in moving my flashing habits from Cyanogenmod to LineageOS era?
There were reports, that the official TWRP has some problems and wipes data, when installing a zip.
I think this is the issue with TWRP.
Install the unofficial build from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on.../recovery-official-twrp-oneplus-3-3t-t3543391
or use TWRP from blu_spark here:

Well - this explains everything! Thank you so much cl0g for this hint!
I am having issues with Gmail, Contacts and Calendar, so I'd like to reinstall Gapps from scratch, but would like to otherwise leave the phone intact.
I want to the stock package, so I downloaded this: open_gapps-arm64-7.1-stock-20180306.zip
So is it just a question of wiping cache, dalvik cache and system? the flashing the above?
I had quite a hard time get LoS on the device, so I don't want to start from ground zero again.

Re installation will only bring you the current status again.
First delete the app data and your Google account from phone.

I deleted my account, rebooted into recovery. Wiped cache, system and Dalvik. When I installed: open_gapps-arm64-7.1-stock-20180306 it told me that: gapps pkg is for 7.1.x download the correct version lineage and was implying that I need something for 6.z.
Is there any downside to installing the older version as a means of getting me back to new?
6.1 gapps are not compatible with 7.0 ROM

Try a gapps pkg for arm, instead of arm64

Hi guys im a little bit confuse on how to flashed gapps on lineage 18.1. im using unofficial twrp and then it successfully flashed but when it boot i cant see google apps and cant use default sms and call
hi, recently installed the los 18.1, first in twrp on wipe menu use format data, and reboot to bootloader, next you can install the rom and the gaaps and its done, i recommend not restoring a backup or anything other than the rom and the gaaps.
In my experience most of the problems that installing roms on this device were due to the encryption of the phone (dm-verity dm-enforce, etc)
