Hello,
6 Months ago I dropped my P2 and I doesn't work since that.
As I don't have a working phone anymore I'm trying to see if I can fix it or not.
When I try to boot it by pressing the power button it just vibrates once and nothing appear on the screen (which I think is dead) or on the led and after a moment it does the same if I press the power button a moment again.
If I try to access recovery by pressing the vol+/- and power button it vibrates a long time and the lud turns blue. This is the only moment where my phone is recognized on windows (as Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostic 900E)
When I try to charge it the led turns red for 1 or 2 seconds and then it vibrates then nothing.
I opened it to check if the motherboard was looking damaged but I can't see anything.
I tried to remove the screen and it changes nothing except that I don't have any blue led and long vibrating trying to access the recovery and that I can't boot it normally multiple times (I have to disconnect the battery to power it off so I can try again)
I did remove and reconnect the battery between each test.
I did some research on the web and the phone seems to act as if it was hardbricked.
Do you think there is anything that can be done to fix it or is it definitely dead ?
Thanks,
(Hope my english isn't too bad)
It is hard to say but it sounds like there is an hardware issue on your phone.
maybe this can be a interesting phone for @mikeioannina (see https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75275983&postcount=731 ) if the screen is still working.
I don't know the real solution but this may help.
I faced this issue before but without dropping it , it was after flashing an os , anyways i went to dowload mode
and reflashed twrp recovery and booted to it via adb then changed data partition to ext4 and the phone booted normaly . if you can access twrp try it , hope that helps

Are you only letting go of the power button? It sounds like you are letting go of all the buttons at the same time.
Try -
Pulling battery, leave it out for a second or two
Put the battery in...If it powers on automagically, sticky power button as suggested.
If it's still off, hold both Vol keys and hit the power button..You'll see the Samsung logo and then a progressive slider...Should boot into recovery (Factory or custom)
Can't go into recovery? Press the vol up and power and make sure USB is connected and running ODIN or ADB and you should see Windows trying to install some drivers...

If you have a T989 and you pressed both volume keys and plugged the USB into your computer and couldn't get into download mode I am not sure what to tell you.
Buy a usb jig/dongle. With the phone off insert the dongle in the usb port of the phone and turn the phone on. It should put it into download mode. The fact you can see the Samsung logo indicates it isn't hard bricked and you should be able to get the phone into download mode. I also had issues getting into download mode when using the button combo so I got the usb dongle and it puts it into download mode every single time. They costs only a few bucks so it's worth giving it a shot.
Maybe its your data cable.

Tried 5 different cables INCLUDING a brand new one AND the original. It started with a charing port repair done by a "profressionals. Then the phone could charge, but could be recognized on a PC OR through download mode by odin. Which led to a hard reset, which led to it hanging on the samsung logo, which led to another hard reset, which led to a bootloop and no recognition through any program. Now i have a paper weight that can charge....
Hey everyone, I think I've really screwed it up.
I was trying to install a TWRP recovery, the phone rebooted and it's stuck at the Ascend logo screen. It won't turn off, and no combination of power and volume buttons will make it do anything at all. It just stays at that screen until the battery goes dead. Once I plug in the charger it just starts up back to the logo screen and hangs.
Holding the power button, either alone or with other combos of volume buttons, causes the phone to power off and then it automatically restarts to the logo screen and hangs.
The LED is slowly pulsing an amber color.
ADB doesn't recognize it ("device not found").
Tried putting the stock ROM update into a dload folder on the SD card but it's not doing anything, even with the power+volume combo.
So Huawei is ready to send a messenger to pick up my phone for repair (which I bet they will charge me for). Does anyone have a suggestion I should try before I send it back?
Thanks
maybe you can get into the bootloader mode..don't know if there's a specific button combo for the mate..if so and it seems to stuck at a logo try to connect to the pc and make an adb request (adb devices)..
once your mate is found you can install a stock recovery again and then a stock OS..
just an idea of mine..
hope you get it running..

Not hard bricked.. Just fixed my friends phone what did same thing.. use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2776084
That was only thing what worked.. adb didnt show it on device list.
You need to reboot phone and push Power + volume down. and then it regonize and you can use that tool..
---------- Post added at 10:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:12 PM ----------
It's stucked becouse you forgot to unlock bootloader.. you need to only to click unlock boot loader on that tool and phone works.

Power off completely, then hold volume up and power to get to bootloader. Press volume down until you get to recovery and hit power button. It should reset and then a android appears. If it then says error hold power and press up volume. You should get to recovery menu that way.
Wipe cache...
Reboot and see what happens...

I have the same problem
---------- Post added at 12:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:07 AM ----------
my device is in error screen, and with the dead robot.
Hi guys, please help, maybe some of you could do that for me... Problem is strange and I just did not find solution jet... So, I just can not power down my ZE551ML completly. Device is trying somehow to boot up, getting some kind of loop. First of all, phone came to me totaly dead - I have to plug it in to charger for 3-4 hours to ligh up notification led... After that it turned on normally. After first boot and setting things up, updates showed up. So I did update - for 4 times, OTA. It looks ok (now I have 2.20.40.90 clean, I mean no root or unlocked BL). But strange comes when I want to turn it off (power down) - device is shutting down, screean is going black and... bum! - the battery icon is showing up: emty for the very first few seconds, then it changeing to green (showing actually power state, I mean accu capacity), then device reboot itself and whole process starts over and over again... I can not stop it. Well, I think if the battery would be full, that could completly discharge it - couse is unstopable... I found, that when I press vol- when the battery is green, phone shuts off its screen, but after 20 seconds the process begins over again... i can boot it normally by pressing vol+ and power - it leads me to the bootloader manu, then boot normally - done. but it is very annoing... beside that phone is ok. Can someone help? BTW - I did factory reset from stock recovery, but it did not help...

I had the same problem. My solution was to unplug the usb charger. After that, the update was successfully.
on me Z007 I did a factory reset because my phone would not start and when it did it kept giving me messages about unfortunately this stopped and that stopped BBM, Zenui, google play store etc. Once i did the factory reset the phone worked again but I had no data so I thought I would just restart. Now all I get is ASUS and the spinning wheel. any suggestions??
Hello, I own model Asus Zenfone 2 laser 5.5 ( ZE550KL ) I have also same problem, phone keeps on rebooting....... Showing Asus logo and then vibrates and again start rebooting
I have installed asus firmware from SD card from recovery mode which was successfully installed .... did every thing after pressing volume and power button and even performed necessary actions by doing fastbood mode.
but phone is on same condition.... showed every where.. even service center people raised there hands
Kindly help me to recover my phone back.
Hello,
Ill tell you a short story how I got this phone bricked.
So i got a OTA update to 6.0.1 (as I remember) and the phone started acting crazy. "system UI stopped working" message showed up once an hour and after that phone reboots. I got tired of my phone rebooting all the time so Ive decided to root it and install a custom ROM. Ive successfully rooted it, instelled TWRP and flashed a HTC M8 google play eddition rom on my phone. Everything was smooth except that it didnt recognize the SIM card and (again) it kept rebooting once an hour out of nowhere (this time the restart was immediate. No "system UI has stopped" message appeared). So i flashed another rom.. (silly me). I flashed a M8 HD Revolution rom because it was the most popular one and I thought it will fix all my problems. I flashed it successfully, the phone booted, it started optimizing apps and then shut down. I tried to turn it on again, it started optimizing apps again and after it finished optimizing ir shut down again. And that was the last time I saw my phone atleast trying to boot.
After all that I tried all the button combinations (vol up + power, vol down + power, vol up + vol down + power), Ive red alot and tried the same combinations with different timing. IT WONT BOOT INTO BOOTLOADER. adb and fastboot commands does not work also. When I connect my phone to a pc i was able to hear a windows connection sound, after 5-10 secs i hear a disconnect sound, after 5 secs it connects again, and disconects again ang again and again.... I managed to screen shot my device manager screen and saw Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 in the device list appearing and disappearing every 10 secs. I googled it and found some info that I might have hard bricked my htc. I didnt have much time at that moment to dive into the ocean of information and decided to leave my phone connected to a charger overnight. NOW my phone is dead (100%). No flashing lights, no *connected/disconnected to a pc* sound, the screen is black, it wont turn on - no signs of life..
Is there anything that I can do? (the warranty is voided)
Could it be that the battery was damaged and it was the issue of my phone restarting all the time?
Any help will be much appreciated
*dont mind my english*
Are you s-on or off? Its very hard to brick this device flashing ROMs with s-on.
Try leaving the phone on charger for a few hours, then hold power+vol up for a minute or so. Most folks don't realize you have to hold the buttons for so long in this "no boot" condition, and start to freak out. I've done it myself!

Did u wipe the system file and data before flashing new ROM?

Are you s-on or off? Its very hard to brick this device flashing ROMs with s-on.
Try leaving the phone on charger for a few hours, then hold power+vol up for a minute or so. Most folks don't realize you have to hold the buttons for so long in this "no boot" condition, and start to freak out. I've done it myself!

Ive tried your technique, few times actully. Phone does not want to show any indication of life. I might have flashed the rom on low battery I just found out that the cable I was using to flash roms ir damaged and does not function properly. Now Im using a new power cable to charge the device but still, no signs of life.
Thank you very much for helping

I left my phone to charge overnight and the LED light came on (Its a really good sign). At first it was flashing orange, later it was only orange and now its green, so that means that my battery was fully drained. However, I tried holdin power + vol up for atleast 3-4 minutes but nothing happened except that the LED light is not greeen nor orange anymore. If I connect my phone to a pc, in the device manager "Qualcomm HS-usb qdloader 9008" shows up for 20-30 seconds and dissapears, after few secs it reappears again and so on. I was looking for a solution for a few hours and I think I found a decent tutorial how to unbrick it but Im not able to find neccesary firmware for my phone because I dont know my CID (link: http://www.droidsavvy.com/unbrick-qualcomm-mobiles/). Any other ideas?
BTW, thank you very much for trying to help
I've never seen these "unbricking" guides work on this device. If you can't get to at least bootloader, you are probably looking at JTAG, new motherboard, or new phone.
Really, your best bet is to keep playing with the button combos with the charger attached and unattached.
I'm pretty sure I permabricked this phone by:
* reflashing the stock system image
* flashboot --set-active=_b
* flashboot flash boot twrp-3.2.1-0-cheryl.img
Now I can't boot or access download mode - I was able to before by holding the volume down button when powering on.
Each of these steps I'd done many times before trying to getting a bootable LineageOS install. I was actually pretty close - ran into the enter decryption key problem, used twrp to "format data" to try to get a fresh decrypted data partition, but was now stuck at the endless os boot animation.
I had read the suggestion to reflash the stock image and try again when having this kind of issue. It seemed safe, I had done it before, but I think that this time for some reason, it left me in a bricked state.
Any suggestions for getting out? I'm basically stuck on the first black and white Razer logo screen that says "Powered by android". The phone isn't detectable as a USB device on any of my computers anymore and nothing I do seems to be able to get it into download mode.

I have done that a few times. Each time I powered on the phone and left it at the black and white razer logo screen until the battery drained. Then I plugged the phone into the wall charger for a few hours to make sure it was full again. Then I plugged the phone into my pc and do the volume down and power thing to get into download mode. I don't know why draining the battery and charging it helped me out, but I have had to do it a few times because I got stuck on that razer logo screen just like you are now.

I have always had to press 3 buttons not 2 to get into download. Vol down, power, and home (s7) or Bixby (s9). If I did not get them all right, I got your results.

No luck with waiting for the battery to die or the 3 button salute - pretty sure I'm hosed here. Let my experience be a lesson to others, Razer phones are quite easy to brick!

Razer phone has no physical home button. Only possible way is plugged usb from a non charging source like a computer or another phone and Vol down + power or plug in usb from a computer while volume down is held down.

So have you tried the following?
Hold volume up and power for the phone to hard shutdown and as soon as the screen goes black, let go of all buttons then plug a usb c to a cpmputer first then before pluging anything to the phone, hold volume down and as you are holding volume down, plug in the cable to the phone?

This thread popped up under "participated" somehow - did not note it wasn't Samsung- lol.

Hold power and volume up for a minute or more till it fully powers down. I don't remember having another device that took as long as this one to hard reset.

The trigger to enter fastboot seems to be holding the "vol down" key AND the usb cable attached to the pc. You should connect the cable first and then do the hard reboot+release keys+hold vol down

No difference. Always worked for me with phone powered off and holding the vol down and then plugging it in, tried that too and didn't work for me.
Hi i have found company (if you google "arykstore") that deals with hardbrick issues. They just started unbrick project on razer phone after my request for help. If they rise money to obtain working razer device they will extract and provide essential filles to resurrect any hardbricked razer phone.
