Hi
There is a bug in Oreo beta 2 and 3 that the tethering doesn't work correctly and shows no internet connection. Has this been fixed in the stable 5.0.2?
I just tried it and indeed it did not seem to work properly.
I've been using all of the three betas and both USB and wifi tethering works. I rely solely on my mobile as my internet connection. I think this is region and operator based issue with Oneplus oreo roms. It seems to be a common problem for some and for others it has worked all along.

Hi there
Did you, at any point, have two SIM cards at the same time in this phone?
Try doing that with ADB:
Code:
adb shell
settings put global tether_dun_required 0
hello, it's a bug beta rom me either it did not work by making a flash clean, ironing on stable rom 5.0.3 and everything works
sorry for my bad English

Hmm that is infamous "stable" global beta rom... You cannot download it on official site, but you can only get it by OTA, and only selected users had that option.
My advice is to back up everything and do factory reset. It is not strange that something gets messed up while updating MIUI8 to MIU9..

Solved.
i have tried each and every oreo rom available for lenovo p2 and using jio roaming
i am facing volte loosing issue after certain reboots in every rom,
i tried swapping sim cards, flashing stock rom using fastboot and did all the ota updates, tried adding ims to apn type, adding some build prop lines and also tried vreating new apn ! still no success
not facing same issue in los by code elixir but dont want to use it as it has less customizations.
any other solution available for this problem ?
i know most of the developers dont use volte so dont care much about volte but most of the indians are using Jio som cards for calling and internet accessing purpose
So devs i humbly request you to find solution for this issue...
Ya its a big issue in using Oreo rom. I am back to Lineage os 14.1 .
Flash the modem of the stock ROM when you lose the connectivity. It worked for me.

VoLTE is a PIA for developer's. not just because the code is proprietary (meaning no access to the source code).
the Dev's so far have not focused to fix VoLTE for Oreo hence the issues. they focus on other major more important fixes first.
Oreo is a major re-write to C++ compared to Nougat.
VoLTE on 14.1 is stable because the Dev's have figured out a proper way to make it work. Which is not yet the case with Oreo. so if you want stable VoLTE stick with Official LOS 14.1.

How to flash stock modem .
I am on AEX.
---------- Post added at 07:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:46 AM ----------
I think AOSP roms have volte problems.
When I am on AOKP os volte working fine..
Yesterday I flashed AEX which is based on AOSP.
Volte gone.
One way to get back the volte is by changing the sim card from 1 to 2 or vice versa. This will get you volte. And then if you want to change the sim cards back to original then do so. The volte will stick.
Other one is, flash the stock ROM modem or an LOS modem. It worked for me with stock and RR modem.

How to flash modem. Can u please explain
Flash the modem backup file using TWRP.
I built a phone many years ago with XDAs help and it worked perfectly. Thanks.
Recently though I bought an S9. I installed Lineage as per the instructions on the Lineage site (I can't post the link as I'm a new account).
The install went perfectly and the phone seems fine except for extremely low signal strength (-110db). It is to the point that it actually drops its connection. There are two identical S9s on the premises and both are on the same provider. I have switched sims between all three phones and the problem stays with mine. Their signal strength is acceptable.
I never used Android on it so can't say if there was a problem before I flashed it and I can't find a stock img to flash back (I don't want to sign up to SamMobile as I don't have a PayPal account).
Is there anyway I can test if its a hardware problem?
Does anyone know of LineageOS having signal strength issues?
Are there any other things I can try?
thanks
You can download a stock image using a tool called Frija (you can use auto settings or find the firmware using your phones CSC). You then need to use ODIN to flash the firmware on to your phone.
EDIT: That'll at least let you figure out if it's a hardware issue
Thanks. I'll try that now.
Same Issue
Hi, I recently switched from using RROS (which is based on lineage os) over to Havoc OS due to the fact I was getting poor signal strength, I switched the rom and it worked like normal. Try switching to another rom.

Signal was running just fine for me S9 with Exynos.
I did however upgrade first to the latest A10 release with Odin.
you can do the same to confirm and try again.

I found a fix! Sorry for the late response. I found that flashing the latest MODEM fixed it! Everything works fine now.

Can you clarify a bit? I might be having this problem, I notice -111 dBm on mine as well.
For a long time now on MIUI and now on a custom ROM (ArrowOS 12.1) WiFi is basically unusable on my friends 8T when connected to 5ghz WiFi. Range and speed is ridiculously low compared to 2.4ghz and any dual band WiFi always puts the device on 2.4ghz. Personally I have a Note 7 and do not have this issue.
Is this a known problem with the 8T? Any fix that anyone is aware of? The phone is on the latest firmware. Any custom kernel that could fix this?

make sure you don't have any magisk module installed
test when bluetouth is OFF,
if problem persist flash RRos A10 with stable A10 FW
if problem persist then it may be the wireless adapter or your router

No Magisk.
Tried with Bluetooth off, no difference.
Same issue with any 5ghz WiFi, tried in multiple places. My friend has 2.4ghz and 5ghz broadcast on the same SSID, only connects to 2.4ghz even when in the same room as the router. At my house I have 2.4ghz and 5ghz on seperate SSIDs, the phone won't even see the 5ghz SSID...
Anyone else experienced this issue? Tried literally everything I can think of. Is it a hardware fault?
My N8P was updated to MIUI 12.5 for a long time, but wifi problem is still there. It is when I connect to wifi but my signal is full and internet will usually broke, just like there is no wifi, but when I in MIUI 12, it is working well.
This is annoying me.
Software update is not helpfull.
(My English is bad. Sorry)
Pls help
No kind people......
