Does anyone know if there are other xda-similar communities that devote time to develop/hack android devices?
My issue is that I think that in the Asian community there must be some android community where members have already done some progress porting CM7 or especially MIUI (Asian ROM) on the Xperia Arc. The Xperia Arc had quite a success in the Asian countries (Japan/South Korea) and therefore I think there must be some other hacker/modders around... doing insane stuff with the xperia arc
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any resources yet. Any hints? (major issue is that most of those web-pages are in chinese-fonts and therefore hard to read even if you translate them via google-translator)
hacking and developing are two different things......
Basically, Im looking to create a ROM based around stock Sony Ericsson. However, after looking around Google for a couple of hours I've only been able to find things about developing ROMs for specific devices like the Motorola Droid :S
I know the basics of ROM development (extreme basics) and I'm perfectly comfortable using and exploring Ubuntu
Do any of you lovely people know of any tutorials on developing ROMs for the Xperia Play? I'm literally stumped here :S
Why there are so few mods and ROMs for m5 ?
It doesn't look promising....
I've recently bought a E5603 as a Christmas present for my young son and wanted to root and mod it so it's similar to my Z2.
The Z2 forum was buzzing with mods, hacks, ports, roms etc., it was amazing. But the Z2 is several years old now and most people have newer phones (the M5 for example) so the forum has died down now. As the M5 is a newer model I was hoping there would be more happening here too.

I think it's because cpu
I love the M5, it's a fantastic phone with great hardware and specs. But after visiting this forum over the past few months and seeing such a lack of activity it now depresses me coming here.
I also have a Motorola G 2015 and the activity over there is awesome. And compared to the M5 its more of a budget phone. But maybe that's the reason, there are many more owners of the Moto I guess.
Its because its based on MTK SoC... roms are notorious hard to find for these for whatever reason... Ive got a BLU Pure XL based on same SoC; I am here looking for resources to get CM or LOS working on it...
Is for Mediatek SoC.
The only solve is, port from other devices with similar SoCs.
I wish I was talented enough to port or create a ROM.
Maybe its time I tried to learn more than just altering files and flashing zips
Some ROMs needing testers

There seems to be some ROMs under development out there needing testers. https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m5/development
I also posses an Xperia M5 and the stock ROM is way too memory-using to me.
The best thing to do would be testing these ROMs, check which one is the most stable and then help developing this one. I could give a hand there.

I'd be happy to help with testing but I don't have easy access to the M5 . It's my sons, so I don't have the chance to use it regularly as he doesn't live with me
3 months have passed.
Still no further development?

If you get the Ril working be sure to let us know how you did it in this thread here https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xa/development/tuba-lineageos-14-1-t3878212 :good:
We can't seem to find the piece of the puzzle that's missing which is very frustrating indeed.
Dear All,
At the outset, apologies if this request is not in the right thread, however i think it should be, and if not, i am more than happy to get i removed and be moved it to the right one!
I found a brand new sony ericsson w200i phone in my garage and thought of putting it to use. It is locked to the orange network in the UK and I was wondering if any one has the right firmwares and steps to get it unlocked? That's all my request is.
I am more than happy to provide any further details, if required.
Also, I have tried searching on google for over 3 days now however I have not been able to find the firmwares (SEtools and the flash files). I may know the steps a bit as there still exist the videos, however if anyone with right guidance can help, it would be a big favour as I am planning to gift this phone to someone who can not afford a phone.
many thanks in advance!

Wow...
The Sony Ericsson W200i Walkman device is really not a very active device for developments and such.
The following area of the forum is probably your best bet regarding anything for your device.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-mini
Don't worry about the "Xperia Mini" reference because that area basically morphed into a multi device area for the "Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, Active, Ray, Live with Walkman" devices.
Good Luck!

Hi,
sorry if it's a stupid question, I am very ignorant of samsung obscure naming conventions ( never had one),.
my mother was gifted this phone and I found the stock rom outdated and quite sluggish, therefore I was looking for a lighter rom with less garbageware.
but I am clueless. i am not even sure if a compatible twrp exist and I would not like to flatline her phone.
i have found no mention of this phone varianti in the xda forum and I was wondering if sm-j250"x" roms are compatible...
any help is appreciated.
thanks.
