After some time, someone has been able to add support for the Qualcomm E4 to dual boot patcher the next build should add the support officially.
Some time, some one... Got any links to info or anything? You started a whole thread with no info.

In case of any error/bug, kindly report on the DualBoot Patcher thread on XDA ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2447534 ) with your crash/bug/error log file .
Thanks.
That's good although it's still not working too good for Perry, it keeps crashing in Roms section

Will there be support for the XT1063??
XDA Rules: No posting a rom thread without a DL link either.
Umm, it doesn't say anything about downloading. It clearly says "thread not complete" hence the lack of links or other info. I'm just as excited as everyone else to be flashing Roms on our new phone, a true test of patience

I just went through the thread and it looks like you are correct. That's why I've been waiting for official versions of everything before i even root. I know the lack of sdcard support is common in initial versions of twrp for a new device. Eventually a more experienced Dev picks it up and makes it official...

Just TWRP. It works fine in the system.
Any way to unlock without using Moto website??
What if i install the firmware on a Moto G5 plus with prime exclusive?, i could brick it?, i want to remove the ads from lockscreen
Any information regarding relocking the bootloader, I tried the other day but faced the "still need a signed boot.img" this is after flashing the stock ROM
Please help!
Please i'm afraid to have bricked my moto g5 plus, i followed all the steps of the video you can find in this forum (i cannot post links sorry) but when it ry to wipe-> factory reset in twrp i got this errors:
"failed to mount '/data' (invalid argument)
unable to mount storage
it seems that the phone internal storage can't be read, even from my pc i can't access/copy files to the internal storage. So when i try to reboot the phone just bootloop saying "your device has been unlocked and cannot be trusted"
If anyone wants to take over this thread please let me know. I still haven't seen a good reason to even root this phone so I'm moving on from xda for a while.

Here is the answer with full explanation. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76448125&postcount=63
Basically i just use that ramdisk from TWRP. Rest of the things, the split images taken from the official recovery of different variants of Moto E4 like XT1760, XT1761, XT1762 etc. At first when there's no Mediatek TWRP, I use Qualcomm TWRP *ramdisk as a base for my first port. It was working fine but few hiccups there. So i moved to Mediatek TWRP when it was developed properly for XT1762 Variant. After unpacking the Moto E4 Recovery you will see "ramdisk & split images". I just changed the ramdisk folder and few files here and there within the ramdisk. At last we are not using *split images of XT1762 in other variants. Well its not my problem if you don't know how to port. Even i already ported TWRP to several Moto E4 Plus variants and the base of ramdisk is still from izaqkull TWRP. I already thanked him by adding his name in credits. And YES its a port because i am not using *split images of XT1762 in several other Moto E4 Plus variants and Moto E4 Variants(XT1760 and XT1761). Hope you get it.

Hey everyone,
You can download the March security update for G5 Plus (Retail channel only) from here
Side-load it through ADB.
(Note: This has been tested on Indian retail variant. It may/may not work on other retail variants - proceed at your own risk)
New build number is NPNS25.137-92-8
My RETIN device hasn't received the OTA yet. Is it rolling out now?

You may edit the title to something like "G5 Plus March Security Updates for Indian Retail Devices" as some users still don't know that it's a different firmware than for reteu/retus devices (those are ending on 93) and flashing this one could cause problems or at least take the opportunity to receive future OTA's.
Just a hint, no insinuation in any way, it's great that people like you share their firmware.

I don't see any problem with that, since it's a retail variant and there's no radio (carrier) dependency. Since all Moto G5 Plus retail variants are identical (except for no. of SIMs), there shouldn't any issue generally.
Can we just install it through TWRP ?
Bcoz i had hard bricked my moto g5 plus and use albus blank flash and i got like Moto z play bootloader and finally now its running by losing voLTE and Google pixel experience with 3g ...
So i am just wondering if i can flash it through twrp and then i get moto g5 plus boot loader back then i again flash a latest version firmware...

If you take a look here: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/RETAIL/
you'll see retail variants ending on 92 (+something) and on 83/93(+something). Both are retail firmwares and I think you can flash a 92 on a european or us device but as you change into the retin channel you won't receive regular OTA anymore. Motorola/Lenovo makes it hard to differ between the firmwares and I will try to find a stable source for that. I'm from Germany and I'm rooted so I don't take OTA's at the moment but friends of mine have received the march security patch and they are on a build called NPNS25.137-93-4.

No, after using albus blank flash you can't flash regular firmware anymore. You have to use a TWRP flashable version or any custom ROM.

Yes, you´re right, I mixed it up. 93-4 was for january I believe? But it´s 93-x for RETUS/RETEU, not 92-x., that´s what I wanted to point out.

I think i read somewhere in other threads that we can do it once oreo roles out .... so that we can pull away the new boot loader and push it to the hard bricked phones then we can normally get back the Moto g5 plus with official Oreo with OEM locking...
is this true ?

Possible. Like with the missing volte/4g or IMEI 0 problem some people hope that Oreo can fix it.
We will only be sure when/if Oreo is available.

I can't tell you. I'm not sure if Lenovo comes out with Oreo at all, it's been a long time of waiting now.
I think you are able to try it at once when you can grab a firmware with bl but maybe you'll have to wait until TWRP flashable builds are available or the kernel sources are released and some clever Dev can pick the needed files.
You can just wait and hope.

Hi, I didn't find any information about android P for our Z2 Force here. We get 3 years security updates on Z series, right? And android P as last big major upgrade, hopefully. Has anybody latest news about P? If not yet, now we have a thread for infos about that
Dude P hasn't even been released yet
they released beta p on the z wondering why they dont have for z2

Erfanoabdi got p booting on the Z, it wasn't Motorola. Booting and being fully functional are two different things. https://www.xda-developers.com/android-p-beta-3-unofficially-motorola-moto-z/

That's great, but sorry, we talk about Z2. But I think we get it. Why not? Hope end of the year. Or is it possible to get the beta of P working shortly? Do any developer think about that way?
Any news? We skip 8.1, so what's with Pie?

Motorola is too busy selling a phone that is pretty much the same as us and saying it's next gen then worry about us... We have 8.1 in aosp form and P works with some files erfan made in the discord.

Not publicly, sorry. It is advertising another service if I do.
Full treble modularity is pretty much complete and should be in lineage and a public statement possibly in the near future. we are VNDK compliant on the treble alpha builds.

Oh man, treble is going to be awesome. Pretty excited to hear about that. That should make future aosp ports and upgrades easier correct?

As stated we repurposed OEM (which isn't used in aosp builds) as vendor. No repartition needed.

There is a link to discord on this thread in the known issues section. https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2-force/development/official-lineage-os-15-1-t3816540
This device will be sure upgrade to Android P. It was launched with Android 8.0 OOB in India and at that time they were telling it will get Android P update (don't know when)
Also Moto Z was released with Android 6 , now running Android 8 (surprisingly i got update notification to July patch at the same time on both phones , retin ) so its obvious It will get Android P. But i don't think it would be first as moto/Lenovo is more busy with low/mid-range devices.
The thing im concerned with is Android Q (since it was launched with Android O here and moto gives 2 upgrades .)

P is now confirmed. Have it from a german source. Seems to come this year. But no 8.1 Z3 has Snapdragon 835, too. So we get the 9.0 Upgrade faster than the others
