The o5 had such a doll notification light. Has this improved?
Unfortunately, I can't compare it but it is definitely very low in terms of brightness. I used to know the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P and OnePlus One and the OnePlus 5T has the lowest LED brightness I have seen. It isn't s big issue though but sometimes a brighter notification LED would help outdoors.

I can only compare it to the 3T and it is lower in terms of brightness on the 5T. Still perfect for me to see it in any light condition.
I was so grateful that it was so dim, last phone was Galaxy s7 and dam it lit the room up at night
i don't have op5, but i have op3t, all i can say is 5t's led is much darker than 3t's. So sometime if your view angle is too big , the led blink notification is hard to notice.
It's about as bright as the Pixel XL. Not super bright but acceptable.
Best to fix with Always on Display.
No, it's the same. Really annoying since there was a ton of complains about that on the OP5. I have had both.

I have used a few Galaxy phones as well as Nexus 4 & 5, all of its flash is white light. I thought I was imagining at first but I noticed the flashlight on 5X is slightly yellowish light instead of white light. Anyone else beside me notice that?
This is exactly the color all led flashes on phone cameras should be imo. I was surprised when I saw it at first too, but it was a very pleasant surprise. The color of the flash and of the display on the N5X is perfection. Another thing to note, it's very bright, more so than any previous phone I've owned.
Edit: I vaguely remember reading something about Google stating that the LED lights for the new Nexus's were off a high CRI (color rendering index), like maybe 90'ish? I have a LED flashlight with a +90 CRI LED in it and it's great, the colors you see with it are much richer and truer.
I am a bit disappointed in the HTC 10. My 3.5 year old Nexus 4's display is much brighter. At about 15%, the Nexus 4 is brighter than the HTC 10 at 50%. At 100%, the HTC 10 is only as bright as the Nexus 4 is at 50%. I get that it's not an OLED, but damn it, a 2016 LCD in a top-price-bracket phone is worse than a 2012 phone's mid-tier LCD?
Another issue now, I set the navigation buttons on the bottom to be always on and they change their brightness all the time. Sometimes they are visible (minimally), other times the glow so faintly as to be only barely perceptible even in a dark room. I hate to think how bad they are in sunlight.

the nav buttons are based on the screen brightness, so if the screen brightness is at 50% so will be the nav buttons.
i think its pretty bright, rebooting the phone and get that white aboot screen i have to look away. coming out of the camera app, since it goes to 100% brightness in there is pretty bright also (I'm use auto brightness, so only time its at max). i have no problems outside on a sunny day.

Coming from the Nexus 4, I don't trust or use auto-brightness. That said, I almost always have my Nexus 4 on about 15% and that's plenty bright in all but direct sunlight (when really nothing is bright enough, so who cares), at at 50% brightness the Nexus 4 is still much brighter than the HTC 10 at 100%. It really is incredibly disappointing.

So I have the iPhone 5 and even though it's a 4-inch display it's sharp enough and you can't see any pixels,so how does the pentile screen holds up because the oneplus 3 is one hell of a phone
It's plenty sharp unless you want to use it for Virtual Reality. The OP3 actually has a higher pixel per inch count than the iPhone. The pentile matrix does make it a little less sharp, but not something you will notice in normal use. I had my Nexus 5 (2013) and OP3 side by side and I could see a difference, if I held the phone at 20 cm from my face. Anywhere further than that, not at all. Also, it uses less battery than e.g. 1440p displays, which is why the battery life on the OP3 is really good.
Finally, the sRGB mode is heaven for me. Almost perfect color calibration with amoled blacks. I'll take that trade-off for pentile everyday. And if you like high saturation, just turn sRGB off and you also get a white balance slider! The choice is yours.

Actually I do plan on using VR but it's not that big of a deal
Depends on how much you use it I'd say. A friend of mine got the S7 edge with a VR headset. He used it twice in the first week he got it. Now it's gathering dust somewhere... It's mostly still a gimmick. But if you're really into it, YouTube is increasing its VR content and some games can be found on the play store.

I care about everyday usage (being fast),normal media consumption (like watching videos or using Spotify) more than VR really and I really care about the camera

I have s7 edge and OP 3 both.. I don't feel OP 3 has bad display! it might not be as good as S7 edge.. but definitely it's not pathetic display. It's very good display for day to day usage..
The display on the OnePlus 3 is pretty awesome, far better than on my One M9 for example. It may not be the best on the market but it surely isn't bad and it is far from sucking, lol.
At medium or high brightness with sRGB mode the display is great. Look really closely and you can see that it isn't perfectly sharp, but it is nonetheless FHD and you shouldn't be looking at your phone with a viewing distance of 5 cm anyway. Normal viewing distances are fine.
The minimum brightness is a bit problematic: if you turn it down all the way the dark colours seem to become actual black, so it becomes harder to see things.
Calling the display trash is surely an overstatement. It's viewing angles, blacks, minimum/maximum brightness, colour accuracy, resolution and pixel density are good to excellent. It's definitely not the best display you can get, but it's far from being terrible.

The people that say the display sucks are people that don't have the phone. I have a nexus 6p and OP 3 and I couldn't tell a difference between the screen resolution of both. Not even when I'm playing game. 1080p is easily rectifiable compared to 720p, 2k is not that much from 1080p unless you're looking at small text from 3 inches.
The colors on the default mode are over saturated and are a bit over the top but majority of casual users like it more. The display on sRGB is one of the best displays on the market. It's so pleasing to the eyes, it's almost 100% accurate yet the blacks are deep. My nexus 6p has almost as good display on sRGB but it has started to suffer from screen burn because of navigation bar.
I have a OP3, LG G4, OPO and LG G3 that I can compare to.
Holding the phone at my normal reading distance or even slightly closer I cannot tell the difference in sharpness between the displays.
The biggest differences are colour saturation and black levels along with screen brightness. The LG G4 and G3 are very saturated and unnatural looking.
Opo with kcal calibration and op3 with sRGB look more neutral.
Min brightness on g3 is high and blacks On op3 is the best.

I think its a phone made by a chinese manufacturer that has metal in its build.

Actually I would love to do a blindfold test with any naysayers. The screen is fantastic and probably more than anyone but a heavy VR user would need. Post #2 was absolutely correct in his description.

I have seen a review that I could actually see the pixels on oneplus 3 screen's on video,hope it's the camera he was recording with
Not at all, it's pretty good if you do some necessary tweaks. Personally, I'm using Sultan ROM with sRGB mode (Photography mode) and the following calibrations: Red 93%, Green 87%, Blue 100%, Saturation 6%, Intensity 8. It looks great, natural colors, slightly saturated so they don't look too washed, and AMOLED black. I'm quite happy, honestly.

I have a g3. I don't want to give up ir blaster sd card or removable batteries. Plus glass screen protector with no issues. But night time use with that AMOLED is nice. I don't like how it doesn't have multiwindow nor one handed view like my g3.
Hopefully it gets nougat quickly. I'll see how the Pixel XL is but if it's $750+ I'm not paying double. The OP 3 is a beast. I'll only consider the Google phone if it's $600. Which it won't be so hopefully I get a OnePlus 3 without screen uniformity issue this time.
I have galaxy note5.. and I can't tell the deference side by side by sharpness.. I can only notice some changing in color. But as I use sRGB on OP3 and basic on GN5 I cant tell any difference!!
Oh maybe the dpi.. but i change it on my op3 to be like gn5...

I have one problem with low bright. I dont know if this is a particular one or happen in all amoled displays.
When I adjust the lowest brightness (in a dark room, for example) I can see a ghosting from dark backgrounds in the display. But, when I adjust a >20% brightness (for example, I dont know if its 20 or 30) it disappear.
I know that the brightness is just an adjustment of the frecuency of the display (more brightness, more frecuency), but this is strange for me. Its my first amoled display, so maybe, can be that and this is a normal behaviour.
I will upload one video tomorrow for you to test this.

Yes, i have the same issue. I did that on the Nexus 6P with the same DarkPro settings (benchmarking with the 6P). And when you lower the it, there is a noticable ghosting on the 5t. It is normal for this Amoled Panel of the OnePlus 5T, on the Nexus 6p this is normal.

I've received my F3 today. I'm so happy.
The only flaw I've seen on it is about its brightness : it seems to be a bit low and we must push it quite almost 100 % to have decent brightness. To those who have received the phone : did you notice that ? I'm not talking about dimming but regular brightness for regular use (not heavy use)

I can not confirm. In very bright surroundings, like outside when the sun is shining, it gets very bright. I have nothing to complain about.
I don't have any complaints either, the maximum brightness is excellent. Compared it to my brother's OnePlus 6T and the F3 is for sure brighter.

brightness seems fine to me,but unfortunatly it doesnt get as bright as a oneplus 8 indoor on max brighntess, but in the sun(max peak), the display of the poco is a bit brighter, so i am satisfied with the results.

Seems like a lot of people here like to have their brightness set to retina burn mode.
I haven't used a OLED display phone yet but I'm pretty sure it'll be brighter than an IPS one at 450 nits max, even then I only have the brightness set to about 75%.
No way to measure or really compare it to other recent OLED screens, but it gets bright enough for a sunny day outside here in the Netherlands. More sun to come hopefully... Also it seems to pump up the contrast a bit when in direct sunlight which is helpfull.
So no complaints here for outdoor readability.
Yea it's brightness is less than my oneplus 7t pro but it's Amoled is way better than my old phone when I watch YouTube video.

I don't think so but I feel the brightness is way less than oneplus 7t pro which also Amoled if not mistaken but the youtube video I watch pco f3 wins hands down.
Hi all,
I have just experienced a brightness problem,
It went very low on its own while not being in auto mode,
It even affected the brightness while the phone was off and charging, which scared me a bit lol,
I was about to seriously consider a factory reset and the brightness came back to its original levels,
The "brightness bar" was still at max during the issue,
And i think it is because i've stayed for too long under the hard sun , playing videos for one hour or two and it happened while i was reading an article on Chrome.
