Hello guys.
Last week my radio stopped working (everything stock, no root, locked bootloader). Some guy on forum said that unlocking and relocking bootloader fixed radio. So I did it, didn't work. My phone is S-ON, so I guess only way to reflash radio is to apply official update. My CID is HTC_622 (Hong Kong). Latest official stock version for this CID with ruu.exe is 1.53.708.4, while mine is 3.16.307.3. Whatever, downloading. Somewhy htc let me "downgrade" (actually not, in download mode it still says 3.16.307.3). Instead of downgrading, it bricked ROM and recovery.
Here I am with bricked ROM, bricked recovery and relocked bootloader. Any suggestions how can I recover device?
EDIT: it's 3.16.708.3, not 3.16.307.3

Are you sure it's 3.16.307.3? Because that isn't a version for the HTC 10 that I know of. I've never even heard of the 307 identifier before.

A ruu is never flashed from the recovery, it ain't a custom rom.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1ACU3RGm9YI
Watch that instruction movie, the main part is to rename the ruu and place it on the SD card and boot into download mode which you can reach. Follow instructions and flash it. Stock Oreo will be installed

You said it happened on full stock, sure it isn't an antenna hardware failure. Did you try another sim card?

Yea, I tried another sim on htc, didn't work. Sim from htc works fine on zenfone though.
htc10 is s-on, with stock android and never unlocked before until radio broke.
Btw there are others having similar radio issues on this thread (for me too - Airplane mode says "Turning off..." forever).

Latin American RUUs are really hard to come by. I barely ever see them around.
What exactly is the issue you are having? Maybe there is another solution besides using an RUU
First thank you @xunholyx for reply!!
i relocked my phone, and recovey breaks :/
i tried to unlock again but i get this

I think you are screwed without a ruu. If you can't unlock it there is nothing to do custom wise.
Even gem flash firmware hasn't got it in their collection.
No idea why people keep relocking the bootloader ?

things I tried flash RUU .exe win7 FAILED 132 ERROR
Flash SD card FAILED
Android Recovery wipe/data/factory reset
Android Recovery wipe cache partition
have not figured out what I can do to get OS back onto phone, the last OS was Linage 16.0 custom rom running Pie 9.0 oreo firmware 3.16.617.2
And stop the crossposting. It's annoying and confusing !
Solved it by RUU 3.16.61.7.2ROM I had ,That wouldn't flash .exe .Finally figured it out to run an app "HTC- RUU Decrypt Tool 3.6.8" it's on Win,Linux, even Mac extracted RUU Decrypt create .zip format 2PS6ING with the Tool, works great boot into Download mode and then will flash volume up button, then I had to create a new token .bin from HTCdev site and reflash to access unlock, reflashed adb TWRP.... Feeling good... I really thought I lost this phone. my advice is to not give up with hope and seek knowledge from this wonderful platform, you may come across a nasty apple who like's to play God and put you down cause he need's to look in the mirror and just have no clue at why we are all here ,usually the kindness flattens out arrogance history has shown .

Extract Boot image from OTA file and flash via fastboot
That's why i asked you : is there also a problem ? So then i hoped you would answer with yes, i can't use signal, mobile data and such.....
Return to your full stock rom and indeed flash the boot.img. that OTA can't be flashed as a firmware. It's done via the recovery but if it involves a hboot upgrade it's also not possible in that way.
What you can do is flash the firmware.zip that is located inside the OTA. The OTA itself is not a firmware only !
And when you install the stock rom and flashed the firmware and the imei stays away you can't fix this at home, that needs some jtag solution that is not really accessible for the "normal" user at home. You need a repair shop or HTC for that.

Mr.Hof , yesturday i took it to one mobile repairing shop and he said there is no jtag solution for this model is that true ?
If he can't s-off the device than its true. The partitions that needs rewriting are locked and you need a-off to reach it. And writing an imei just like that is illegal.....

T-Mobile HTC One M8 won't update to lollipop
I just recently saw that the 5.0 update was available for my phone today, so i downloaded it and i installed it, but recieved this error.

I went through these steps in order:
1.) Downloaded the update
2.) Swapped back to original recovery (from TWRP)
3.) Did full (permanent) unroot from SuperSU app
4.) Attempt #1 at updating. Failed with this error.
5.) Did factory restore from recovery.
6.) Attempt #2. Same result, same error.
So I'm really lost. Anyone have any ideas?
Before any one asks, my phone is running 4.4.4, is S-on, stock ROM, stock recovery (now) and is the T-mobile version, not the GPe.

Your recovery is outdated, install this one. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95897840722642978
I had this same error. I just used the 4.4.4 RUU for T-mobile to return to complete stock. Then OTA updated. Worked like a charm. In your Bootloader, does the screen have "Software Status: Modified" at the top?

When all else fails just cut your losses, do yourself a favor, and flash the RUU.

Well if somebody has time to unpack the RUU, you can flash the ROM zip through hboot with an SD card. Just rename it 0P6BING.zip, put it on an SD card, boot into hboot and confirm the flash. Maybe ask in @Garmig's thread.

So, i found a copy of windows last night, installed on my mac so i could use the RUU. Got computer setup, drives etc installed. downloaded the RUU, relocked boot loader... this is when all the problems started.
Once the bootloader relocked, it went into a loop. Never being able to go anywhere besides the Hboot. None of the choices work, including factory reset.
In windows when i Run the RUU, it unpacks and then closes. tried downloading again. Same result. Got to frustrated so i turned phone off went to bed. This morning, tried to unlock bootoader again, but now i get this msg
Jeffreys-MacBook-Pro:~ TipTop$ fastboot flash unlocktocken /Users/TipTop/Desktop/Android/Unlock_code.bin

Must be external/removable sdcard. Zip must be named appropriately and on the root of the card eg sdcard/0P6BIMG.zip.

Thank you both for your input last night and today! I greatly appreciate all your help, and more so, your patience with a newbie!
Once the update has completed flashing from the SD card, is my phone back to stock minus the *relocked* stamp in bootloader? Or are there other flashes that I will need to apply to bring software and hardware up to date?

You should have been able to watch the flash output right there in the bootloader assuming the flash completed successfully you are on the latest firmware and software for t-mobile. There's nothing else you need to do as far as that. If you want to unlock again go to HTC dev get a new token and unlock as usual

Hi, I am new on this forum.
I have a problem with my M9. About a year ago, I installed TWRP recovery and rooted android 6.0. Since then I hadn't made any changes to my phone. Once android nougat came out, i couldn't update it with ota update so i decided to return to stock recovery. I flashed the recovery and everything worked fine. I decided to update it with a RUU as the safest bet, and i read somewhere that you need to relock the bootloader. I relocked it and everything seemed fine, it was relocked in bootloader mode but now I can't boot to recovery mode and cannot boot the phone. I can access download mode and bootloader mode. I also can't update it with the ruu because I get signature error 132. I also can't unlock the bootloader, everything goes fine and at the end it still says "relocked". My cid is htc_032 european. What should I do now?

You shouldn't have relocked it... As far as I know, relocking the m9 is not required... Try searching for solutions or wait for someone with more knowledge regarding your situation...

Thanks for the tip about IMEI.
I tried the developer ruu version from the HTC website but i saw that it isn't compatible. I can't find a ruu for my phone that is compatible. I only found zips, but i have no clue how to use them. I know how to flash them, but my bootloader won't unlock. Do you have any idea how to proceed?

2.41.401.3 or higher or a bit lower, depends on the updates you have done.

You can try the latest RUU.exe file and execute it when the phone is in the bootloader. If you can't access any other part then there is no way to flash it differently.
Check the forum here for the latest RUU.exe

Let the battery run out and put it on the wallcharger. If you can't get it to charge in any way send it in for repair.
is there any why to know what is my CID in that case ???

You don't need s-off.....just a simple "fastboot getvar all" will do to get all the needed info.

Boot to download mode.
What OS version does it give? (e.g. 2.41.617.3)
What is the three-digit part (e.g. 617)? That's your device. Download the latest RUU with that device identifier.

If you would have a read in this thread you would know that he can't boot to download mode, not to recovery and the handset is bootloopimg.....
If it could boot to download mode i would have solved this already.

Since you insist on condescending publicly (do you have "If you would have read this thread" as a macro? Does your keyboard autosuggest the entire clause?) and you think you're the only person who could possibly help the OP, I did read this thread and either:
1) He can boot to download mode but fumbled it somehow; without any information describing what happens when he attempts to enter download mode, I'll infer that he hasn't tried properly
2) Whether he can or cannot enter download mode is moot since the RUU will deal with it and provides instructions when run
Running the correct RUU is the better option for someone terse on troubleshooting and/or if the phone is that borked. Besides, it's locked and S-ON; there aren't many options.
First law of troubleshooting: trust no-one.

What, exactly, are you doing to access download mode and what, exactly, is the result?
