Most likely a n00b problem here, but when I try to select my custom icons from Launcher pro, my icons don't show up in the Gallery. They're saved correctly as png, but for some reason they don't show up anywhere in the gallery. I tried clearing the defaults in Settings/Applications so I can try to select my icon from one of my file explorers but I wasn't able to. I even tried uninstalling Gallery, but then I got a message to the effect of "There are no photos on your phone."
Am I supposed to be selecting the icons in different way?
Got it working: I reinstalled the Gallery app and now it sees my .png files. Idk if it was the reinstallation or maybe it was that it didn't rescan the SD card after I downloaded and extracted my icon pack.
Well pretty much I downloaded a ROM with a bunch of camera features "smart capture, power shutter" etc. When I flash gapps over that it gets replaced by the stock camera. No options + photosphere. Now that behavior is normal and I know that.
The ROM apk in /system/app is Gallery2.apk and the gapps package has GalleryGoogle.apk.
After flashing I delete GalleryGoogle.apk from /system/app and replace it with Gallery2.apk that I extracted from the ROM zip. Reboot and it works fine. All the new options are there. Great.
HOWEVER. I deleted GalleryGoogle.apk from the gapps package system app folder, yet any time I flash that same package my camera still gets replaced... what else do I need to delete in gapps to keep the camera in the ROMs zip file? Thanks
So are you wanting gallerygoogle or galery2? And which gapps file are you using? Mine doesnt have gallery2 in it and has galleyrgoogle.apk inside an "optional" folder. I'm using gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip
Inverted gapps from TeamBlackOut.
I want the Gallery2.apk which has all the extra features.
I deleted GalleryGoogle.apk (stock camera) from gapps, yet when I do a clean install I always have the stock camera and need to delete and replace it with Gallery2.apk.
I will check the optional folder though. Not sure how it keeps getting replaced aha
EDIT: That did it, thanks d00d. Haven't seen much of you since they closed the X2 OT thread... Bastards.....Or anyone else for that matter
Hi, I have installed custom rom Le1PRO_US_X800-ROW-v48RL-CUOCO92-5.5.011S on my LeTV and I uninstalled few system apps like browser, calendar, bugreporter, and now I want to bring them back. I unpacked a system.img from .zip and extracted a apks from system/app/***/ folder, and pasted this to my phone via app Root Browser, but I don't know what to do next to bring this apps back, because I still don't see this apps installed.
Flash the whole ROM zip without any wipe, then remove the apps you don't want when it fully boots.
What exactly do I have to write in the config file?
I have the super GApps package and it replaces the stock CyanogenMod Apps like Camera, Launcher etc.
I have tried reading opengapps/wiki/Advanced-Features-and-Options , but unable to find a solution.
I want all Apps in the super package, but I don't want it to replace the Camera, Launcher and Gallery.
Can someone please make a txt file for me?
Does this work with all recovery? I am using modified TWRP 3.0.2(twrp-3.0.2-2_blu_spark.v41-onyx_by-engstk) for OnePlus X.
Hi,
I have enabled dual WhatsApp on my device but recently the second whatsapp image can't be seen in gallery (the whole folder is missing) however the image can still be seen in the chat.
-Tried connecting to a pc and looking for the images in explorer shows that all the images have a file size of 0KB and can't be open.
-the setting (view downloaded image in gallery is turned on
-reinstall both whatsapp and restoring does not changes anything, images still can't be seen in gallery
any idea how to fix this ?

Did you turn on the media visibility in settings.
in whatsapp >>>settings>>>chats>>>media Visibility On
if it doesnt work delete the
.nomedia File - use your file manager to find this

Yes i did turn on the setting.
Tried deleting the file you mention and no difference.
My girlfriend note 20 ultra is also having the same issue.
edit: I just did a reinstall of the second whatsapp. I can now see the folder in gallery but when looking inside file manager, there is no folder for whatsapp images.
Looking wired to me....
Try this...
If you are using Google photos as your default gallery app, then there are chances that your WhatsApp images will show in your Google Photos app if you used the ‘delete local copy’ or the ‘free up device storage.’ Therefore, check Google photos to view your WhatsApp images.
Else clear Cache & data from WhatsApp from the list of applications in Manage Apps
it will surely help you
