Hi, I have installed custom rom Le1PRO_US_X800-ROW-v48RL-CUOCO92-5.5.011S on my LeTV and I uninstalled few system apps like browser, calendar, bugreporter, and now I want to bring them back. I unpacked a system.img from .zip and extracted a apks from system/app/***/ folder, and pasted this to my phone via app Root Browser, but I don't know what to do next to bring this apps back, because I still don't see this apps installed.
Flash the whole ROM zip without any wipe, then remove the apps you don't want when it fully boots.

Why can't i delete any stock apps ?, i use root explorer, go to system/app folder to delete apk and odex .... my icons remain, when i reboot my phone restored the 2 deleted files.
Now i use titanium backup donate, i freeze the app and deleted the apk and odex file now the icons are gone. But when i reboot the apk file and odex file gets restored but the icons are gone because i have frozen the program
Why does my HTC Desire keep restoring the apk and odex files ???
Is my desire not rooted correctly ? i used unrevoked today.
In order to be able to delete system/stock apps, while you are in the OS, you have to be s-off. Otherwise you can do it from recovery thru ADB.
Ah....thanks for the info.
Is there a custom rom out there that still retained all the stock desire look and feel minus the bloatware like latitude, news, quick office (i'm going with docs to go), plurk, teeter, stocks, peep, and friend stream?
Flash a rooted stock ROM, then remove those things yourself and make a backup?
Hi Getan,
What I did is to get the ZIP file of a ROM and simply use 7ZIP to navigate to the system/app folder and delete what I don't need.
This seems simple enough for me and also you can copy some .apk files there. After this procedure just flash the ROM. Hope this helps
Thanks, bedobela. But don't you have to sign to ROM?
Download leedroid2.3d, then use winzip to take out the system files you don't want, I did it to get rid off footprints, teeter and some other stuff and it works fine. You'll probably have to check in both the system apps file and i Think it was date/apps files as well.
this app com with sebastian15 rom (runnymede5.0).
so how to prove it?
or how to remove this app?
I do not know how to prove, but you can uninstall it in setting>applications>manage applications.
If you can not remove it there, use Titanium Backup to delete or freeze it.
remove apps
you can easily remove apps BEFORE you flash a rom,
u can use winrar or 7zip
you only have to access the folder (in the zip file of the rom) with the system apps and delete the apps you dont like
Hello people.
So, I'm using Lineage, but want to go back to Marshmallow, with a ROM customized by me, to suit my needs.
I'm thinking to use this tool to make the ROM, but I have a doubt... This tool works with boot.img, recovery.img and system.img, basicly, to generate a zip file to be flashed in TWRP. As G3 can give a message about security when a boot.img is flashed, I want to know if it will happens if I use that tool.
Second... G3 have some folders storing apps, in special system\app and system\priv-app (there are some others, like 'vendor', but don't rementer now). What are the difference between them? Wich folder I have to use to put the apps I want? I noticied Titanium Backup have some issues with apps in priv-app, I'm asking bascly because this.
Thanks in advice
I'm rooted with latest Magisk but it's not possible to delete system apps by using root explorer, even when mounted R/W.
Is there a trick or do i have to use TWRP?

Click to collapse
Only trick I know is to download Titanium Backup for Android and give it Magisk root approval.
Use it to delete apps.
Take note: I have destroyed several 100% stock Oreo setups by removing system apps. Have not narrowed it
down to which apps caused that. But be ready for it to never reboot followed by flashing the entire system again.
Hm, I don't understand why it's not possible to delete system apps or folders (in fact apk kan be deletetd, but folder not),
You can delete them in TWRP, but be careful on which apps you delete because as already mentioned in this thread, you can be stuck with an unbootable system.
I'm planning on creating a custom flashable zip for myself that removes certain apps, changes the font, and boot animation in one go; just to streamline the process after I factory reset & update every month.
I can delete the APK by using ROOT EXPLORER, but I'm not able to delete the folder of the app.
Strange, on all other devices that was never a problem
Just freeze what you dont want. What did you want to get rid of anyways?
