Lineage not recognizing my SIM card after update/root - LineageOS Questions & Answers

I updated to the JAn 19th update for LineageOS, and decided I wanted to root my phone again since updating unroots it. Did so which of course wiped the data and had to redo Lineage, and now my SIM card isn't recognized as being there. Yet when I download a sim card recover app off of Google Play, it shows all the correct info of my sim card, so it's still readable, yet I can't get phone service...

What a exotic root method do you use? Just flash the SU matching your ROM from https://download.lineageos.org/extras. No need to reflash after LineageOS update.

OTA update, problem with SIM card

Yesterday after OTA update (2.17.401.2) , my HOX don't recognize SIM card.
It say "com.android.phone has sotpped unexpectedly."
Is anybody has same problem?
How can I fix it? or go back previous version.
AS far as I know you cant go back to a previous version. Have you tried another sim card if its the same with a different sim card in then its the phone if not then its your sim card is faulty.
You could try flashing th RUU, which will set it to factory settings.
You can backup your stuff with adb backup, flash the RUU, verify if it's working then adb restore. It might do the trick.

Selected network (T-Mobile) unavailable

Since I updated to the latest radio xxlf1 (from xxla02) and CM11 build cm-11-20131223-NIGHTLY-maguro I have been unable to connect to T-Mobile services.
I accidentally deleted the /system partition - in clockworkmod I had mounted and formatted everything before I started the install. Later learned I shouldn't do that.
I rolled back to xxla02 and stock Android and the issue has persisted. Put the sim card in another phone and it worked fine. Interestingly the phone did recognize when a new voicemail arrived (but am unable to access any services)
Any ideas on what I can try next?

[Q] install recovery via sd card

is there a way to install stock, or any recovery, via sd card or internal memory without using a usb cable?
reason for doing so is my phone stopped recognizing my sim card. i tried the tape trick, i tried cleaning the contacts on the card. i cant test my card in another phone because i have a nano sim, other phones only accept regular sim. i want to try to download the ota from tmobile by going back to stock and upgrading via the options in the settings. hoping that will 'fix' something. if all else fails i will have to try to return to 100% stock for a warranty exchange
