TWRP 3.2.X Help - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

Does TWRP 3.2 not work with Nougat ROMs? I'm trying to do a clean install of a my own custom build of Lineage 14.1 and when I do a full wipe in the latest version of TWRP, I can no longer access internal storage with MTP (the phone shows up on my PC, but when I click into it, the internal storage doesn't show any space available and I can't transfer anything to it). To bypass this, I installed the last Nougat factory image and did a partial wipe, but then none of my Nougat ROMs will install (error code 7, or just an error with no code at all).

Have you tried the latest Bluspark twrp? It has support for encryption, that's the only option you currently have.
Wouldn't you have deleted all your data when you clean flashed?

Root Guide for 7.0?

Hello,
I have attempted to install twrp - (newest available version for ether) and it installs and boots, but twrp does not see the internal storage. I can't install SU because I can't see the storage.
Does anyone have a root guide for 7.0 on the ether? Or any idea what I am doing wrong?
I have searched and can't seem to find any discussion regarding root for the 7.0 release.

Click to collapse
It doesn't see internal because it's ENCRYPTED. You need to format data then sideload either SuperSu or Magisk. Note: this will wipe internal storage and reset the device. The root method for 6.0 is literally the same for 7.0 on the Robin.
Flashing SuperSu or Magisk will disable the forced encryption. The reason you have to format data is to reset the partition and remove the encryption on the partition.

TWRP fails to wipe or format data

Hi, I regularly flash new roms for our device to test them, so I'm using TWRP for a long time.
2 weeks ago I installed the stock oreo rom and the TWRP recovery via fastboot.
Yesterday I wanted to test ToxycOS so I tried to wipe everything. The log does not show any error but the system and internal memory are sill there. From the main page of TWRP, if I go to ''Install'' and then ''select storage'' it says that there are ~50000 Mb in the internal storage, and I still can see all the folders with the TWRP file manager.
I even tried to format data but the result is the same.
The device won't boot but the files are still there.
So now I can only dirty flash roms.
It never happened to me before, what can I do?

upgrade m8 to Official Lineage 16.0 - GApps Error 70

I just updated my m8 to the official Lineage 16.0 release. I was on 14.1 but put everything on the storage, wiped, installed Lineage.
Then i tried to install GApps pico and i am running out of system partition storage. I tried to resize my system partition, but it's locked at ~1020 with 900MB used so the system. No amount of resizing can increase the system partition.
even at 90MB zipped, i'm unable to flash GApps at all.
Does anyone know a novel way to do this?
I'm currently rooted and booted into lineage. I might try using titanium to move some apps out of system to flash the gapps. we'll see how it goes.
Ditto for me as well. How is anybody else using Lineage 16 with Gapps?
There's a Magisk module Called MagicGapps. Install it from Recovery... Just be sure to have a nano or pico Gapp downloaded and in the same directory as the magicGapps.

Recovering data from ginkgo TWRP

Hello folks,
My device before the issue
OS: Resurrection Remix
Android: Version 10
I have removed my passcode and tried installing Octavi OS [Android 11] in my ginkgo device from TWRP. Once the installation is successful, the device showed animation of the Octavi OS. Later it rebooted to recovery. Now, when I tried to load another zip file from local storage, the local storage seems to be encrypted.
The OS is also not loading and I have also observed that the Internal storage is not showing up in TWRP Mount menu.
Please help recover the data from the Internal Storage.
