I patched the apk to avoid the FC when com.motorola.frameworks.core.addon.jar is present.
No need to delete the com.motorola.*** .jar files from system/framework/
Download v6.0.54.1
Download v6.0.78.1
Enable Write to external sdcard:
ExtSD_Fix_rw-signed-v1.9b.zip
Thank you so much. Working fine on pure Nexus

Many thanks for this, working on resurrection remix 5.8.3 26/04 build without issue. how did you get around the FC problem, if I may ask?
Working fine on crDoid. Thank you so much!

My understanding is that when /system/framework/com.motorola.frameworks.core.addon.jar is present
com.motorola.camera.device.framework.CameraMotExt.<clinit> fails to find class "android.hardware.Camera$EnvDetectCallback"
So I emptied out the static method (<clinit>) and initialised a couple of variables outside.
I used DexPatcher to modify it.
Then the behaviour is the same as if /system/framework/com.motorola.frameworks.core.addon.jar wasn't there.
Clearly this is a workaround not a fix. It would be nice to know why it can't find the class and fix it so that "CameraMot" is supported (I guess this is some hardware optimisation)
Would you please share another link beside afh because i get some problem with download from afh
Thank you for this. After I deleted those files, an FC message saying "Motorola Settings" has stopped would greet me at every boot. This'll take care of that.
I don't believe it has anything to do with video recording though, does it?

I didn't see issues with video recording either with the patched Moto camera and deleting the .jar files, or using this Moto camera as is. The Motorola settings seems to pop up whenever, but dismissing it doesn't seem to cause issues with the camera app or the system itself - curious!

It can't be updated or it would loose the patch.
Quality wise I would say it's close to stock but probably a little below (can someone confirm this?)
For now I think this is the best we can get for non stock roms.
If someone wants to step up and try to get a proper fix that would be ideal.

This camera port is for athene only.
I have created a magisk module which forces the display to sRGB when it's not available on certain custom roms.
This may work on other phones but it is of course complete untested.
Before anyone asks the reason for this module is because my banking app does not work with magisk manager installed which is needed to set sRGB in ex kernel manager etc.
just set magisk to hide root for the banking app, I had the same thing but it only blocked me from using the fingerprint sensor which I use to log in pretty much always.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Before or after flashing, do I need to do anything like under Live Display/Display Mode (it is set to disable all adjustments).
If not, it doesn't seem to work. The modules shows enabled in Magisk after a reboot, but the colors are incorrect.

Not sure I only tested it on my OP5 when I had it as some custom roms lack sRGB support and from memory I don't remember having to change anything.
You're welcome to hack it and get it to work btw.
maybe i'm stupid, but i can't imagine how sRGB can help you to hide magisk from banking app. hmmmmm....

The app I used to enable sRGB broke my banking app as it then detected magisk so I wrote the module in order to get sRGB working without affecting the banking app.

The path for the Oneplus 3T is different (or maybe it's different on RR, I don't know). Anyway, the path is:
echo 1 > /sys/devices/virtual/graphics/fb0/srgb
I've changed it in the post-fs-data.sh file and rezipped it. Testing now .
Edit: it works!
Hey guys,
Rooted recently, got on Pie and found myself missing the Night Light - such a little thing that makes all the difference at night. Tried redoing the steps I did to enable it on Oreo but failed.
Anyway, long story short, after a few xda threads I installed Pix3lify, which is a hit n miss - and I already had Digital Wellbeing port. So I extracted the apks responsible for night light only and put them in a zip.
The apk had a lot of lines reporting to Ambient display and other functionalities which have been removed - the apk has 2kb and enables night light - just that.
Install: Copy nightLight.apk to system > vendor > overlay (set 644/-rw-r--r-- permissions). Best to use MIXplorer
OR
Flash the zip via TWRP/Magisk Installer (Nightlight_v1)- Thanks to @alagga for the Magisk Module
Since the port is from Pixel, it goes hand in hand with Digital Wellbeing port (magisk module).
Night Light settings in Display > Advanced > Night Light. Quick settings tile present in the dropdown customization area.
Have a good Night(Light)
Thank you very much, it's an excellent job, it works perfectly

I found pixelify a bit buggy for xzp, that's why I took out only the apk for ambient display/night light, modified the lines so it only enables night light. I only use the digital well-being. If the zip doesn't work try manually putting it in overlays and set permissions.
So no pixelify plugin, just that zip (tested on my xzp single sim on android pie).
Tell me how it goes
Flashing the ZIP didn't work for me. Copying the apk manually did though. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! I've did the modifications very late at night so I recycled a zip I had in handy. There was a lot of copy/paste of the apk and not so much twrp flashing. Updated description.
And I didn't notice any screen sluggishness. I'll keep an eye out tho
Thanks again!

Double check the root permissions in magisk root section - perhaps you denied them by mistake. mixplorer has no issues manipulating root files - as long as it has the permission granted
[update]Strange. I can't seem to modify root folder structure - for example, adding a new folder in priv-app does nothing - tried with two file explorers. Best bet is to use a flashable zip for such apps or TWRP's file explorer which has plenty of manipulation options.
Cheers!

I have taken a look at this module. If my understanding is correct, it tries to replace the default mixer_paths_tavil.xml with another xml file with the modifications that, I guess, should enable the dual speaker feature
I have checked that the reason why it does not work for me, is that after installing the module by means of Magisk Manager and the reboot, the mixer_paths_tavil.xml file is still the original. It has not been replaced by the one contained in the module
However, the path is well defined inside the module (mixer_paths_tavil.xml is contained in folder system/vendor/etc)
Actually, I'm experiencing a similar problem trying to modify directly the mixer_paths_tavil.xml, as described here https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/themes/changes-to-mixerpathstavil-xml-lost-t4035345
This is happening to me on Pie
So I wanted to ask you, which Android version are you running that it works for you? are you on Pie?
Thanks
Works for me on Oreo, along with Ainur Sauron, Audio modification library, Audio compatibility patch, Viper 2.7.1. Also, there's a working Dolby Atmos downloadable through Aptoide.... doesn't even need root, just a quick apk install. Make sure you're covering the bottom speaker completely and put your ear to the top speaker. It's not going to be mind blowing regarding volume. It's likely because there's no way to turn the values high enough to complete with the bottom speaker without doing damage.
After some testing, here are some beautiful always on display alternatives! I hope you like it.
*FIRST OF ALL*: I am not responsible for bricked devices. Proceed at your own risk!
Here is how it's done:
Just flash the attached ZIP file over Magisk Manager App!
You're good to go!

I had the same crashes when clicking to Settings, AOD, Style but I resolved (and verifief the procedure several times going back and forth between stock and custom MiuiAod.apk)
So the following procedure works for me (Mi 9T, QFJEUXM 11.0.4.0):
- do not use Magisk module for installation but do it manually (uninstall AOD Magisk module if you have it and reboot)
- in Settings, Always on display, & Lock screen, disable Always on display
- using root manager (like MiXPlorer), go to /system/priv-app/MiuiAod and overwrite the stock MiuiAod.apk (23,6 MB for me) put this custom MiuiAod (20,54 MB - listing sizes here to easier distinguish stock from custom)
- reboot and go to Settings, Apps, Manage apps, by three dot menu top right enable Show all apps
- navigate down to Always on mode (this is the name for the custom MiuiAod) and take Clear data, Clear all data, confirm
- go back in Settings to Always on display, & Lock screen, enable Always on display, open Style and select and apply from this custom, extended set of styles, apply and enjoy
---
Installation via Magisk module seem to be working only on some (older) MIUI 11 ROMs (although Magisk module installs with no errors and by symlinking overwrites the stock MiuiAod.apk with custom one), but the manual procedure as above (hard overwriting, not symlinking) should (hopefully) work for all MIUI 11/Android 10

Try renaming the MiuiAod.apk to MiuiAod.apk.bak and repeat the process!

you only have to set the rights in the Root Explorer. Mark the AOD.apk file there, then select Properties and then select Permission in the next window and set the rights as for the original file. Then restart. Then it goes.

Wanted to send you first as PM (but your PMs are blocked)
Here comes a manual procedure to install your custom MiuiAod styles as Magisk module
HowTo:
1) In /system/priv-app/MiuiAod remove the custom MiuiAod.apk and rename (the original) MiuiAod.bak to MiuiAod.apk
This step is optional and applicable only if you already have this custom MiuiAod installed as per your OP instructions
2) Download MiuiAod.zip from:
https://mega.nz/file/ppcFUAqC#oXOpvtS4vicUhV_ECK7hJkb6HOhhR8Vhqnw24X3e6Mc
and unzip to obtain folder MiuiAod, containing a file BuildProp and a subfolder system
Copy that MiuiAod folder (as is) to /data/adb/modules - see the screenshot.
Reboot and find in Magisk Manager, Modules tab, a new MiuiAod module installed
You can disable/enable (and remove) that MiuiAod module through Magisk Manager
---
However, this is still not a valid Magisk module zip file that can be really flashed through the Magisk Manager - instead, it requires manual unzipping and copying to /data/adb/modules as described
If you like, I will try to make it to the proper, flashable Magisk module zip file that you could submit to Magisk repo ?

Copy that MiuiAod folder (as is) to /data/adb/modules - see the screenshot.
