After some testing, here are some beautiful always on display alternatives! I hope you like it.
*FIRST OF ALL*: I am not responsible for bricked devices. Proceed at your own risk!
Here is how it's done:
Just flash the attached ZIP file over Magisk Manager App!
You're good to go!
Tested on MiuiMiX MIUI 11

Alternative method, if the one above fails:

I had the same crashes when clicking to Settings, AOD, Style but I resolved (and verifief the procedure several times going back and forth between stock and custom MiuiAod.apk)
So the following procedure works for me (Mi 9T, QFJEUXM 11.0.4.0):
- do not use Magisk module for installation but do it manually (uninstall AOD Magisk module if you have it and reboot)
- in Settings, Always on display, & Lock screen, disable Always on display
- using root manager (like MiXPlorer), go to /system/priv-app/MiuiAod and overwrite the stock MiuiAod.apk (23,6 MB for me) put this custom MiuiAod (20,54 MB - listing sizes here to easier distinguish stock from custom)
- reboot and go to Settings, Apps, Manage apps, by three dot menu top right enable Show all apps
- navigate down to Always on mode (this is the name for the custom MiuiAod) and take Clear data, Clear all data, confirm
- go back in Settings to Always on display, & Lock screen, enable Always on display, open Style and select and apply from this custom, extended set of styles, apply and enjoy
---
Installation via Magisk module seem to be working only on some (older) MIUI 11 ROMs (although Magisk module installs with no errors and by symlinking overwrites the stock MiuiAod.apk with custom one), but the manual procedure as above (hard overwriting, not symlinking) should (hopefully) work for all MIUI 11/Android 10

Try renaming the MiuiAod.apk to MiuiAod.apk.bak and repeat the process!
the instructions are correct.
you only have to set the rights in the Root Explorer. Mark the AOD.apk file there, then select Properties and then select Permission in the next window and set the rights as for the original file. Then restart. Then it goes.

Changes can be done also through TWRP - if something goes wrong (bootloop) it can be reverted through TWRP to the original MiuiAod.apk

Wanted to send you first as PM (but your PMs are blocked)
Here comes a manual procedure to install your custom MiuiAod styles as Magisk module
HowTo:
1) In /system/priv-app/MiuiAod remove the custom MiuiAod.apk and rename (the original) MiuiAod.bak to MiuiAod.apk
This step is optional and applicable only if you already have this custom MiuiAod installed as per your OP instructions
2) Download MiuiAod.zip from:
https://mega.nz/file/ppcFUAqC#oXOpvtS4vicUhV_ECK7hJkb6HOhhR8Vhqnw24X3e6Mc
and unzip to obtain folder MiuiAod, containing a file BuildProp and a subfolder system
Copy that MiuiAod folder (as is) to /data/adb/modules - see the screenshot.
Reboot and find in Magisk Manager, Modules tab, a new MiuiAod module installed
You can disable/enable (and remove) that MiuiAod module through Magisk Manager
---
However, this is still not a valid Magisk module zip file that can be really flashed through the Magisk Manager - instead, it requires manual unzipping and copying to /data/adb/modules as described
If you like, I will try to make it to the proper, flashable Magisk module zip file that you could submit to Magisk repo ?

Hello everyone,
I want to share my Headset Notifier for any Xperia running on stock MM roms
It shows a notification when your headphone is plugged in.
*Actually this headphone notifier is modded Unsupported Headset Notifier.apk, because Sony disabled the notification when you plug your headphones.
*It should be working on any Xperia MM rom.
Okay, if you want to find the apk, check the attachment of this post and jump to Step 5.
If you want to try to mod it by yourself, here's the guide below:
Here's what we need:
-Notepad++
-Apktool (Version that support Android 6.0 Roms, I use Advanced ApkTool 2.1.1 to work.)
Steps:
1. Decompile your UnsupportedHeadset.apk
2. Go to res/values/ and open bools.xml with notepad++
3. Edit This Line(Change the red one):
<bool name="show_headset_plugin_icon_to_notification">false</bool>
Click to collapse
to:
<bool name="show_headset_plugin_icon_to_notification">true</bool>
Click to collapse
4. Save file and recompile and sign it. Done!
5. Install as normal apk or move to system/app/UnsupportedHeadsetNotifier/,and set permission to rw-r-r and then reboot.
*Maybe this mod needs Superuser mod (Patched Services.jar).
Edit:I added Flashable Zip below, flash it in your custom recovery.
Tested on:
-My Xperia Z3 with eXistenZ MM Rom - 23.5.A.1.203
Great find. Thanks for sharing this. Working fine...
what about if i want to add headset icon to the status bar when headset connected ? if you know the steps share with us please.thanks for this mod.

Don't worry!
I figured it out! How about change the package id?
I think it will not conflict with the original one!
Could install as a separate app, not cover.
Edit: .....But Hmm... after I wrote this post a few minutes, I found a question,
because you installed as a separated one.
It will have two (may conflict the notification showing)...
One makes it show(The one you installed)
And another one will block it down(The System one)
So report me if it shows the notification when you plug in,
If it cause conflict that makes it doesn't shows the notification, I will remove it, because that's useless and bad.
Edit 2: Or if it doesn't work because of conflict, you can try to disable UnsupportedHeadset Notifier in settings and reboot.

Oops it was in the Dolby Atmos thread by westenbrood. My brain is derpy sometimes
HERE YA GO!
It's right there past the 6.5 download link, can't miss it. I don't know for certain if this is the magic answer for nougat, but if viper is showing all is well other than the driver status being abnormal (which was the problem with MM) then you should be good to go after flashing it. As always YMMV. Make a backup just in case.

I've tried everything to get viper to work, I don't understand - previously all I've had to do is install the apk, install drivers - reboot & jobs done!
Now it's like you need a masters degree.
I've followed so many guides, viper apk is installed, rooted, busybox & I've renamed the file in system / etc - but upon opening viper & attempting 2 install drivers, I'm told installation has failed.. something something busybox, something something check if rooted :what::banghead:
My hope now is a Dev will build a beta 9 build & incorporate viper

-[Custom Rom] Huawei Mate 8 - KangVip Rom
- NXT-L29C432B595-V7 Custom System Update
- EMUI 5.01 - Android 7 -
On TWRP backup basis.
This turns the B582 into a B595.
Developed and tested on this device:
Huawei Mate 8 (NEXT)
Model number: Huawei NXT-L29
Build number: NXT-L29C432B582
- OTA updated.
- Without branding, with root and root access.
- TWRP recovery
Mods:
- Call Recorder
- KangVip Advanced settings
- Autostart administration in the phone manager
- Viper 4 Android FX
- Xposed 89
I couldn't test if this runs on Firmwares other regions.
Quick guide for experienced users:
Please make a backup of your data with Huawei Backup and TWRP.
The Rom will be installed as if you wanted to restore a TWRP backup.
All your apps remain intact.
Conditions required:
- Firmware B582, (data partition)
- TWRP recovery
- root is not necessary,
- OEM and FRP unlocked,
- USB Debugging on.
You are familiar with the matter? Then let's go!
If available, uninstall these apps: SuperSu and Magisk.
A unroot is not necessary. The download is not compressed.
Installation:
Download the directory (2018-01-NXT-L29C432B595-K-ROM-V7). It is a complete TWRP backup folder,
copy it in the TWRP backup directory to the ExtSd and restore.
After rebooting, please go back to TWRP and root with: SuperSU-v2.82-K-Rom-V7. zip
That's all. The installation is complete.
Viper is not been installed with it, this can be found in the
Advanced settings can be made up for.
Xposed is active and stable.
There's no way use other Xposed versions.
Don't change the supersu, it is tuned to the system.
In the Kangvip Advanced settings do not use the Addblocker and "hide Activate NavBar".
Both works only on China Roms.
Hiding the NavBar can be done comfortably with the App "Tiles" from the playstore.
In the K-Advanced Settings /tune cpu, some of the following are available.
Modifications of the computer performance possible. Those who need more power can do so.
Testing out the "Power save" options is useless. Did a lot of it.
The Huawei's own energy saving settings cannot be topped.
The minimally modified stock kernel works as efficiently as possible.
Good luck!
My special thanks go to you: @apat26
Thank you very much:
[KangVIP], Chainfire, Stephen (Stericson) + Jmz Software, Wraithdu, Team Win RecoveryProject,

The roms I offer are original Huawei firmware.
Only the system was modified by kangvip and me. The kernel is stock.
If you like this work you could give a donation to kangvip.

Please not for me, because I don't take money for it. I created this TWRP backup roms for my use.

Thread Update 2018-07-03
Here comes the update from V.7 to V.8 (EMUI 8 lite):
That's for AL-10 only. It won't work on C432.
Whether it goes on other regions I could not test.
It's a TWRP backup. The V.7 is modified so that now the functions of the EMUI 8
are available on the Android 7 file system.
The Mate8_K_ROM_V8.exe is a self-extracting archive.
This results in a TWRP backup: 2018-07-02--M.8.KANG.EMUI.5.to.8.boot.system.
Just like restoring the V.7 as TWRP backup.
If the root is lost during installation, please re-root.
The same applies to xposed. Everything you need is in the download folder.

You have same like that "Numbers and CN or different".
Because i think if this different with you and if you change it to same the hide navigation bar will appear in settings > navigation key > "navigation bar" and hide navigation bar in kang settings will work with non Chinese versions. "Maybe"
Thanks

!!ATTENTION!!
As Google recently changed how the device_profile files are located, these steps below do NOT work anymore. There are only two options you can choose from which you can follow and read about here
#I'll not be responsible for anything that happens to your device when you follow these steps#
If you don't know what ARCore is read this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARCore
After you understand what ARCore is for then continue reading.
@Arnova8G2 has made a flashable zip with support for our device.
AR Stickers download https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Uvspxje-myBIKIeDHfgMpZ4Uv_o5ZFYL
Installation steps:
1. Install original arcore linked below
2. Reboot to TWRP
3. Install twrp-Patch-ARcore-for-all-device.zip
4. Reboot to system
Zip download here. This method is still under testing, so the original method is still shown below.
Step 1. Download ARCore from here https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...se/arcore-1-4-180716096-android-apk-download/
Step 2. Install an app that use ARCore. If you're lazy, you can use this https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-creative-lab/just-a-line-draw-anywhere-with-ar/
Step 3. Open the app you installed in step 2 and let it crash. This will make the folders and files that we're going to use later on.
Step 4. Download the file named device_profile_vince.textproto.txt at the end of this post and rename the file to device_profile_vince.textproto
Step 5. Using root explorer, copy the file you just renamed to /data/data/com.google.ar.core/files/device_profile_database2 and change SE context by selecting the file you just copied and press the three dots. Then select Restore default context and then press OK.
Step 6. Now you can use any apps that require ARCore!:victory:
NOTE: If you updated ARCore repeat step 3 to step 5
Tested on my vince running AEX and havoc os with omnivision sensor
Not really necessary anymore as we've Arnova8G2's flashable zip but I'll keep it here anyways
During the steps above, you probably saw a bunch of files in /data/data/com.google.ar.core/files/device_profile_database. One file is for one device or another variant of the same device. These files come from the manufacturers or Google themselves for the devices that officially ARCore.
Unfortunately, vince, like a lot of other devices, don't officially support ARCore, so some of these files maybe more compatible with vince but I don't have time to test them all. So if anybody have extra time, you can help me find out which one of these files is best suited for our device. You just have to rename the file you want to test to device_profile_vince_.textproto(the _ is to make sure you don't accidentally replace the original device_profile_vince.textproto file) and rename the original device_profile_vince.textproto to device_profile_vince.textproto.bak
If you believe you've found a file that's better than the one on the OP, then please tag me and post the file name in this thread and I'll test it to see if it's better before adding it to the OP

FAQ:
Q:Why (insert app name) can't detect surface?
A:Find a surface that's not shiny or white color. Surfaces that are textured and have sufficient lighting can help. Sometimes a reboot can help too
Q:Why can't I install all apps that use ARCore in play store?
A:They're supposed to be only for devices that officially support ARCore. If you want to use them on vince, download using apkmirror
Q:Why ARCore still isn't working on MIUI even after I followed all the steps?
A:This could be because that MIUI is heavily modified from stock Android so a lot of things aren't working on it.
Q:Why isn't AR Stickers working?
A:Use this version Download, (MIRROR). Thanks to @Arnova8G2 for this

Hi.
Thank you for your hard work.
Can I know if potentially all arcore's app can work on Vince?
I am asking this because I'm fully stock and I would like to know for root it.

All apps that use ARCore should work except for ARStickers, which you've to use the one linked in the FAQ. It's the only app so far I tested that needs to be modded to work.
Deer developer tried every step describe by you on miui costum rom wash n dish by Jerome-X but not worked any AR core based software always it is saying that device is not supported check the screen shots.

I wish Venice could support the AR core
Really good work done by you to enable this feature.
May be I am getting error due to miui
Mhhh... Weird.
I must wait 110 hours until unlock my bootloader... Damn.
Anyway.
I developed some app with Google tango.
And yes, the problem can be the Android version also.
Arcore works on few models with Android nougat. If you use a smooth vanilla 8.0 it can works (maybe).
If someone wants to try, please, try this app (now I can't because the bootloader),

Now I got it that I have android 7.0 and AR core works good on android 8.0

i followed exactly the guide...

Hmm, that's weird, it should work for nougat ROMs too. Maybe because MIUi is heavily modified

Yes I followed the instructions, and all the app (I tested 3 app) does not work (included the area stickers and yours in the guide).
I did also the last modify with root explorer... But I have the same problem of irfan

Edit:
Some news sites report this mod is made by other developers, but I actually made it myself, at least for the Mi 9T / K20.
Hi everyone! I was able to reverse engineer the mod used on Mi 9 and K20 Pro and apply it to the K20.
The mod works, but is not "the cleanest solution" since it's hardcoded. I'm currently working on compiling a cleaner mod. Since the mod is based on the MIUI.eu stable version 10.3.12, it's suggested to use it only on this one for now. You can try on other previous versions, but in case of fails revert back to backup.
I'm copying the instructions from the K20 Pro thread:
- 75hz working perfectly
- Minimal battery drain due to slight overclock from original(60hz)
Use it at your own risk! It is unknown if it causes any long term or temporary damage to the screen yet. (But since it uses the same screen as the mi9, which has the same mod released a while back, it should be fine!)
