I have heard of a program that performs a soft reset at user defined times...but I cannot locate it. Anyone know the name?

and use some the 'runeveryday' software to assign a silent soft reset.

Try AlarmU,It can reset automaticly,or turn off the phone,or turn ot flight mode
Try using SmartToolkit Freeware:
http://www.smarttoolkit.mobi/
So, i copied an provxml file to the phone and hardreset it. Phone has gone to sad face. Meanwhile, i unlocked bootloader, enabled root access, disabled root acces, lockedback bootloader. And flashed to wp8.1 using wdrt. The problem is that my phone was impersonated as lumia950xl before to get last insider builds.. And after reflash i got Reset Protection recovery key screen. After i erased phone from my account and got the key, i cant recover phone. I fear to make emergency call and go to store to activate my account on phone.
Interesting....
I have an FRP locked 640 XL I bought off ebay for parts. I think I know what you mean by, "I fear to make emergency call and go to store to activate my account on phone." Microsoft seems at this point the only entity that can disable reset protection on the chip.

No, you don't. Make the call, activate video call, store will open to install skipe, there in store settings page you can insert your credentials.

How about just bypassing it?
Just how? There is no return. Im talking about first screen, where it ask for key or account. After inserting account , no login

Maybe this is your solution
Bypassing is the first step. I have not yet found a way to disable it...if even possible.
No keyboard settings on wp8.1.

Upgrade to W10M...If you push the cabs for W10M to it via iutool you might actually bypass the FRP setup...that has happened to me before. But if you hard reset again on W10M unsuccessful to disable FRP it will show again.
A full list of cabs for lumia 640 xl dual sim rm_1067?
Download the wim file here
Open it in 7zip. Extract the folder for 640-640XL to a directory and push the cabs. You might even be able to just avoid all the work and download Microsofts otcupdater tool and use it to upgrade back to W10M...either or will work.

Phone started to download. Now at gears spinning.
@augustinionut
So the Skype trick...it is a bypass only right?
Phone updated to 10.0.13080.107 I passed first screen, apps don't open, configuration neither... i will try to update thru otcupdater.
Needed to manually install phonesettings.appx.

If there is an FRP trip on your device, it will return but not until a Factory Reset/Hard Reset. But at least you get to use your phone again...
Edit: Oh and if you decide to try to remote wipe your phone once your account is back on. Don't just in case you have the same problem as me. My phone is FRP locked and bypassed. I was able to login with my account and add the phone to my account. One day was messing around and decided to test the remote wipe feature. It worked, sort of... There is some bug or an issue now that every time I sign into the phone to add it back to my account it immediately remote wipes it again. WP8 won't do this though since it does not run a compatible verison of the OS to use such features on the 640 XL.
I'm goying thru the second update
Tomorrow i will look here https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/dn757558(v=vs.85).aspx using WPinternals.
EDIT:
Third update now...
EDIT2: i installed reset protection cab. But strange, cant reset phone, no internet connection . And language don't stick, it changed to default allways.
Still fighting https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/mobile/reset-protection
So today i repeated all stuff. I reseted user data meanwhile the bootloader was unlock and root access activated. The sad face appeared again. So....flash to wp8.1.... and all from the beginning.

Maybe wait to see what Heathcliff74 has on his next release...?
So I have got kind of a strange buggy problem. I have an LG G4 with Android 6.0. I recently encrypted my phone with the standard Android encryption method. I used a six character password for this. After about a month my phone prompted that I had to change my password because it had expired. I must change the password in order to gain entry to the phone. So, I click 'change password', type in my old password, click continue and then it returns me to the lock screen?! Locked! It never actually lets me change my password. So I'm kinda stuck.
I tried using software like dr.fone to gain entry to at least save my files, but my phones default pc connection setting is charging and since I can't gain entry, I can't set it to MTP sharing. So I can't even gain entry through my PC.
Is this a known bug? I couldn't find anything on the internet about this. Anybody have any idea? I know I can just factory reset, but I really want to try saving my files. There's some pretty important stuff on my phone.
Thanks in advance,
Greetings,
Luca

Bootloader is locked I assume.
So your phone will not let you log in until you change the password but will not let you change the password
I'm considering the purchase of a nexus 7 2013 32gb for really cheap. However it has "authentication req. you need to sign in to your google account" on the screen. How do I get around this without the password?
TIA!
Why dont you buy a Chuwi hi9 air ?

Let's see if I can actually answer the question at hand.
When does it show this? If it's at boot, then the tablet was wiped from recovery mode and there's no skipping it.
It's to prevent theft. You have to enter the enter the account and password the device was last on then factory reset from settings.
If it's not at boot then factory reset from settings.

The authentication prompt comes from Factory Reset Protection (FRP) which requires wifi/online check so it is not implemented in boot/bootloader but in OS. FRP bypass on N7'13 is easy because the bootloader is simple to unlock and then all partitions can be accessed. The OS hides FRP data most likely on the 'persist' partition and it can be cleared with a fresh P4 image...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75465233&postcount=222
Should this not solve the problem, then finding the FRP's hiding spot will not be difficult. In any case, flashing LineageOS w/o gapps should sidestep FRP entirely.
:highfive:
Hi All
Any one else having issues connecting Bluetooth devices? And any fixes or work arounds
Thanks
Is it all bt devices or just some?
Network reset. Samsung Wearables Manager must have all it's permissions enabled to work... a stupid simple fix for this nosey Parker of an app.
Thanks is all Bt devices and tried both them and it just fails to connect. I get no dialogue box up to enter a pin code in
try removing the pair and then re-pair it again, might also need to clear the bluetooth cache.

Did you use SmartSwitch to load anything?
It can screw up settings.
Try safe mode. 3rd party can alter hidden user settings rarely but it happens. Either correct the change (easier said than done)or factory reset.
You can try the less nuclear option of reset of settings before a factory reset. Don't use SmartSwitch if you reload.
Maybe a firmware or hardware issue. Return it if you can. This isn't normal.
When I have BT issues I clear the cache (settings > apps > Bluetooth) and then reboot my phone. This typically clears up any BT issue I'm having.

Yeah I went from a s21 using smart switch so I have to do a factory reset? Or how do I get in safe mode?

Try clearing the system cache, a hard reboot and in safe mode first. Not sure how it's done for that Samsung. Bare in mind if you don't ID the cause of the issue it can reoccur even after the reset.
Ok will see what can find thanks
I am also having problems with Bluetooth on my Fold 4 . Unable to clear bluetooth cache in system apps as Storage screeen has both cache and data buttons greyed out.
"Device Control" lists multiple entries of the same bluetooth device but cannot see hoe to delete them.
Would prefer not to do a network reset unless it's only option.
