- A working driver for your device.
USB drivers for Xperia devices
- Unlock bootloader
- A Working TWRP-with latest patch security
- YOUR firmware must match my kernel version. I used to update the kernel with latest firmware.
- Backup your stuff for future
- YOU NEED a refresh stock ROM (means you have to wipe EVERYTHING). Use flashtool to flash the latest firmware. (Remember to check Wipe USERDATA in flashtool). It seems not necessary if you have already flashed my kernel and have a working camera
- USE LATEST FLASHTOOL VERSION TO FLASH THE LATEST FIRMWARE

Links are fixed now.. I patched the boot.img..So it should work with magisk.

I mentioned that I patched the boot.img and it should work with magisk. You should use the patched one with magisk.

- Download the patched zip from first thread and the latest magisk.zip from XDA.
- Move both zips to your device and boot into TWRP
- Flash the patched zip first and then flash the latest magisk.zip

all successfully installed and booted into the system. But in the magisk does not pass the safetyNet test. The system update has arrived. After the upgrade I will try to install the kernel and magisk into a clean system.
I requested a new firmware. Made a complete wipe.
Without switching on the device
1. I installed twrp
2. patched Patched-SONY-XZ1-Compact / [G8441]
3, Installed msgisk.
Bootloop
Wihout magisk -bootloop
Why?

You flash this at your own risk. Please ensure you have the stock ROM to hand downloaded from SAMMOBILE in case of problems. This will trip the knox counter.
Instructions:
Flash with odin in the AP slot.
Put your device in DOWNLOAD mode.
Uncheck Auto reboot.
Load the respective file below into the AP slot and hit start.
After flashing and ODIN reports PASS immediately reboot to recovery by holding POWER + HOME + VOL DOWN.
As soon as the screen goes blank change to VOL UP whilst still holding POWER + HOME.
You should now see TWRP recovery.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE ABOVE STEPS WILL RESULT IN TWRP BEING REPLACED BY STOCK RECOVERY
NOTE: ON SOME ANDROID 5.1.1/6.0/7.0 DEVICES IT IS NECESSARY TO GO TO:
Settings -> Developer Options -> OEM unlocking
AND ENABLE OEM UNLOCK FIRST OR YOU MAY ENCOUNTER 'BLOCKED BY FRP LOCK' WHEN FLASHING.

To disable forced encryption and mount internal storage (/DATA):

4. Install Magisk
6. Reboot

The sources are no good for anything but compiling TWRP.

1. Lock screen pattern, pin, password a bit delayed/ take some time to unlock
2. The USB-OTG in TWRP is not working

Note/Solution:
Hotplug kernel-auditor open kernel-auditor->go to cpu hotplug ->decide which hotplug u wanna use(ex:alu_card)->go to alu_card option->Set min and max cpu online 4 -> now enable alu_card option ->enable apply on boot ->reboot->now set cpu as u want (prefer to use EX kernel manager )
EXKm users follow these on CPU ->Core control(Big cluster)-> Set min core 4 and Max core online 4 -> now choose Hotplug-> enable apply on boot->reboot ->now set cpu as u want

i did that and phone wouldn't boot.
i had to flash twrp thru adb/fastboot and restore to get the phone to boot again.

100% sure..even users booted by that..its for oreo roms..not for nougat

You flash it to boot partition not recovery
i flash this kernel to recovery partition, and i lose twrp root after reboot,...cannot enter recovery ... strange things happen, after booting several times, root is present, so i can flash twrp using rashr ... why this happens?

that's what happend to me.
get into fastboot and reflash twrp thru adb.
then do a restore or flash a new rom.
btw, the instructions in the op need to be changed.

Does all work?
I think you are right as it is the pre-released stock rom, it should upgrade from 4.16.
you can flash it directly from TWRP if you remove from the updater script of the 4.16-5.06 zip file all thel lines before this statement: # ---- start making changes here
It works.

I managed to install opengapps full by removing some apps with the aid of the gapps-config.txt file (otherwise system partition is too little - just check how to use it in the OpenGapps wiki). Then I disabled SetupWizard.apk renaming it SetupWizard.sav in /system/priv-apps via TWRP and adb (the nubia setup wizard does not start if the google setup wizard is active). Finally I rebooted and added my google account. So far, so good.

First of all, thank you for sharing your experiences on this rom.
Do you use Superuser or Magisk to root? I want to use Magisk to root device. By use of your updater script, we should be able to flash three zip at same time in TWRP

I did it the same way. Four zips in a row (including gapps modified accordingly my previous post). Then I rebooted. BTW, I use magisk
Uh oh, it seems I spoke too early....Magisk manager installs fine but it does not allow to do anything. Actually investigating the cause....

pico gapps worked fine with method to edit setupwizard.apk - no magisk though , pretty sure can report magisk fails to https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/beta-magisk-v13-0-0980cb6-t3618589/page558
looking at the end of thread i think many experiencing no magisk issues

as there is currently no working magisk can I ask if this method to change apk to sav works for any app? At least I could debloat the ROM a little ....

Went back to lineageos... Couldn't get gapps to work... After reformating data partition phone only booted to bootloader, couldn't get back in the os...

Everything now return to stock and I want to flash TWRP, but cannot connect with computer. The driver is not working. When I do fastboot device, it shows waiting for device. My operation system is win 10. Does anyone share a driver to me?

no... project treble checker says it's missing the A/B filesystem, so it's not ready for Treble

Can we install Magisk through TWRP?
i just flashed the twrp recovery image and successfully booted into recovery mode but after that i flashed no-verity force zip for no verify but after that my phone is not booting into android only going into fastboot mode ( start phone/recovery mode----> fastboot mode)
i think secure boot is verifying for the file system signature.. blocking to boot into android or may be boot.img file get corrupted bco'z when i installing dm-verity it give error -- "failed to mount system....... patching boot.img...."
pls anybody tell what should i do
if anybody can provide boot.img pls give link of it to me

you can solve secure boot problem by flashing it with modified/patched vbmeta and then you can flash magisk with no problem but you will get unhided notification in notification bar (rooting of your phone blablabla.....) problem of coloros rom.... recommended to wait for custom rom....
if you want to restore vbmeta.img , you can find it in stock rom...

well, the rom is smooth and fast booting, i don't find any problem except cannot set any lockscreen and fingerprint.
you need to lock bootloader if you want lockscreen and fingerprint to be function, but don't do that if you haven't installed stock rom or you will be stuck in bootloader just like me.

i have tried RR ,pixel experience, aosp, and havoc os.
aosp and havocos working fine, but RR and PE just stuck in boot animation.

Backup your ROM, your data, your internal storage, and your settings/apps, to an external device: just to be on the sure side, as always
Download the OrangeFox zip file to your device
Reboot to your TWRP Recovery
Install the OrangeFox zip file as a normal zip
The device will automatically reboot into OrangeFox recovery after installation (allow this to happen)
After rebooting have a look at your sdcard in FoxFiles folder: you will find all the necessary files to flash for getting your V30 running flawlessly after kdz-ing there (RCTD remover, Magisk, unroot Magisk, disable dm-verity and force_encrypt, lockscreen settings remover (when userdata with lockscreen settings is restored) and init.d support; most of them not needed (beside magisk maybe) if a TWRP flashable firmware zip was used)

boot normal but i dont know if there are bugs
Only bug I found so far is that I can't change the splash screen in customization options.

i was using OF_USE_MAGISKBOOT_FOR_ALL_PATCHES & OF_USE_NEW_MAGISKBOOT in rc2, but updated all magiskboot binaries to 20.3 0_o is it confirmed splash changing working with org bins? i may just try it tomorrow, earliest possible day to sit a bit on my pc again :good:

Which ROM are you using? You didn't try to encrypt right?
You could try flashing twrp using adb as a workaround I guess
