I've got an LG G4 H815 with a 701 motherboard and most of the times it's slow as ****.
My friend's 80$ Xiaomi opens apps faster and runs smoother.
When I click to open an app there's a noticeable delay until it opens and then there's another delay until the app loads.
I'm talking about basic things such as dialer, SMS, contacts, calendar, clock etc.
Keyboards are also laggy, I've tried the stock one and Gboard. Sometimes i have to wait 1-2 sec until the keyboard opens or to switch between languages.
My animations are set to .5x, I've also tried disabling them.
I'm running V29A + Titan kernel 1.8. Stock is even worse. AOSP based ROMs are somewhat better but still not as fast as 80 dollar Xiaomis.

Hi! I have recently installed CM7 for my Xperia Pro and I've been having this same problem for a while. In the messaging app, whenever I try scroll up to see some important messages, it lags ALOT and going up is practically IMPOSSIBLE. It only goes up like 2-3 messages and like 3 seconds. This is very annoying and I thought that some people could help me here. Thanks!
Hey guys,
I love my Optimus G, but I have a question, are some people experiencing some choppiness when they are scrolling through their contacts, or whenever they scroll through a website that has a lot of comments? My phone shutters a little bit when it happens and since all the reviews say they saw no lagging whatsoever, I was wondering whether this was normal or not?
Thanks for the responses.

I got nearly 400 contacts and it doesnt lag at all.
Now I don't have the ATT version, but I find mine is choppy when scrolling up and down in an email message, so if I reply to an email and then scroll through the original message its choppy..
Seems to be the os to me as most of the rest of the time its totally fine. I don't see any lack of performance within websites or contacts..
I've had my G3 for 2 days now. It is not yet rooted or tweaked aside from available options within the stock ROM. Everything seems to be working perfectly except Facebook. It works about half the time. but the other half it will open, freeze for a second, then just close. I've attempted to reboot the phone as well as even uninstalling/reinstalling the app to see if it solves it but it continues to happen.
My guess is that the app is having an issue with the extremely high display resolution. But if that were true I'd imagine other apps would be experiencing similar problems.
Any ideas?
that's odd, facebook has been stable for me
Now I can't even get facebook to open. it just freezes and hangs there. Hitting the home button a few times finally gets it back tot he homescreen to kill the app but it happens again every time.
what version are you using? mine is 14.0.0.0.11
14.0.0.0.11
What's funny is I just switched from DALVIK to ART. Not only is my phone SIGNIFICANTLY snappier now, but Facebook is now working flawlessly.

For those looking to eliminate all lag:
1) Go to Settings / Developer Options / Select Runtime then select "Use ART" and approve the change. The phone will reboot and optimize your apps (which takes a few minutes) but it's well worth it.
2) Go to Settings / Developer Options and change "Window animation scale", "Transition animation scale" and "Animator duration scale" all down from 1x to .5x
After doing both of these my G3 now feels as snappy as my completely optimized Nexus 5 was.

If you BETA TESTER of facebook android app it can possible. I'm on beta stage of app that i receiving continuously updates for app. For now if i touch or tap to see comments app shutdowns. It's only allowing me likes. In prev. beta versions it wasn't allowed to browse albums of pages or friends. This is common problem on beta app. Otherwise the only way is seems to mail dev. team.
Thanks for the response. Since posting this thread I've actually gone back to my Nexus 5 and sold the G3. I was running into the same force close issue with facebook on the Nexus 5. I opted out of beta and now just use the stable version of the app and have no issues.
And for anyone wondering why I switched back. I realized after about 2 months of use that I just wasn't going to get used to the 5.5" screen. It's simply too big for me. That and lack of development support really had me missing my Nexus 5.
For some reason, after a body of text has been typed out, the keyboard starts lagging HORRENDOUSLY. It just gets progressively worse. Here's a video to show you guys what I mean.

I haven't tried LG's keyboard because it's ghastly. This happens on every SMS app, or, as you can see, on Tapatalk. I was originally writing this thread on my G4 but it got so bad that I couldn't stand it anymore and decided to type it up on my laptop.
After the update, the lag was not there. But after some use, it looks like it's back. I have tried restarting the phone and what not, factory reset, etc. to no avail.
Has anyone else been experiencing this?
Ditto here. Lags less then LG keyboard but still not ideal

People have reported less lag if the LG keyboard is disabled or frozen.
Mine has been fine, especially after the latest update to 10N on T-Mobile.

I use swiftkey keyboard and sometimes it seems to start lagging. I'll type too fast for it to catch up and it's quite annoying. Other times it's perfect and very responsive. It seems like it starts happening randomly. I thought it could be a ram issue but a couple times it's started happening I've closed all apps and cleared ram and it doesn't fix it. I even cleared swiftkey cache. Any ideas? I should mention I type pretty fast.
Two diagnostic questions:
(1) When Switfkey starts lagging, do you also get a lag in the sound-feedback on the stock phone dialer?
(2) Does the Swiftkey delay go away if you turn off sound-feedback for typing?

You mean does the typing sound lag as well or just the sound if I open up the phone app and dial to make a call?
I did a lot of research last night about this and found others with the same problem... Someone said that if you clear your clipboard from the settings in your keyboard the lag goes away.. I did that last night and the keyboard has never felt father. How come that would cause it to start lagging?
Nope, the lag doesn't go away even if I have sound and vibration off. The only thing that seems to have made a huge difference is clearing the clipboard. I don't think it's placebo because it literally hasn't went into lag mode a single time since I did that.
Also, when it would go into lag mode, the keyboard lag wasn't too terrible ever in the messaging app built into the phone however facebook messenger, kik, and Google search were pretty horrible.
After more research I found more posts. Someone said having accessibility option enabled for nova launcher is causing this. I took about 10 screen shots and my keyboard immediately started lagging again. I cleared clipboard and lag fixed. I then disabled nova accessibility, took 10 screen shots, and it DID NOT LAG even with all of those in clipboard. I'm now convinced it's nova launcher causing this issue....
