download the latest firmware and replace the boot loader with an older one from android 6 then flash boot oen unlock again and your bootloader will be unlocked
What makes you think there is some sort of 1 week limitation?
On what are basing this info?
If the bootloader is locked its locked.
Hello I wanted to ask if that is the right time to wait a week
And if the flashing has worked?

Some people stated that the bootloader unlocked itself one week after it was locked for the first time.
I think this has to do with that RMM STATE: PRENORMAL sh.
Supposedly if you have your phone for a total of 1 week of uptime then rmm state change allowing you to flash whatever

Are you saying the bootloader unlocked itself or the OEM_UNLOCK appeared?

Yeah, didn't explained properly.
OEM_UNLOCK option appeared.
The strange thing is for example I have that RMM STATE: PRENORMAL But oem_unlock is still active.
Buut, if I try to flash somethin, apparently not official, it triggers an error, cancels flashing and a message "custom binaries cannot be flashed (BOOT)" appears at Download mode screen.
Some others with that same RMM thing stated what I said, they didnt have OEM_UNLOCK option appearing at developer options, and with that 1 week uptime it magically appeared.
Dont know if its the same with the custom binaries locked, but i got any other option but wait the week so ill see what happens

I find it hard to get my head around why Samsung would implement such a feature?
In any case this started happening when Samsung updated the bootloader to XXU2.
However we managed to circumvent that by flashing the XXU2 marshmallow bootloader.
Now, some are on the XXU3 or XXU4 bootloader.
Currently we are trying to circumvent this. However according to what you've said these should automatically unlock after 7 days? Strange :silly:

Thinking logically, if RMM is what makes OEM_UNLOCK disappear and it deactivate past 7 uptime days, then it probably goes the same for ofivial binaries lock
Cuz, is anybody without RMM having this issue?
I dont even know, this got me unprevented trying to flash a patched boot.img today.

Some users are testing the 7 day/168 hour theory. Let's see what happens
So I opened up a MD with Samsung support in twitter, just in case someome could tell to me what RMM state iz but our conversation ended with the guy at the support saying "They are not able to provide info about this" strange enough, I didnt ask if it was because they didnt know about it or they werent allowed, but I think Samsung its trying to hide it from us

If you are missing OEM lock option at dev options》 You must have 168h of uptime
If you have rmm in prenormal and OEM unlock option active, you can only flash official/ non corrupted binaries

In Download mode it appears: "rev check fail device 3 binary 1". But it always varies. When I try to turn the power on, it appears: "only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed" and then "Warning: CMOLINE parameter modified" appears.

I recently got a 7x from ebay.co.uk. I noticed the opened box states the model is BND-AL10 (Chinese) but in the phone settings it's a BND-L21 (International). S/N and IMEI match.
Out of curiosity I tried Huawei Firmware Finder for Oreo. I used DNS method, picked the top one as seen here (verified): hxxp://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=BND-L21C432&firmware_page=0
It downloaded like 20 patches totalling around 8+GB and then asked to reboot...and failed.
My phone still works but I now get this during boot:
"your device has failed verification and may not work properly.
1) Press power key to continue.
2) Press volume up key up to 3 seconds to enter erecovery to restore your device.
3) your device will stop, start if there is not operation.
I tried Huawei eRecovery: 'Getting package info failed'
What should I do? Noob.

erecovey fails for everybody. dont know why.
the message you see is normal if bootloader is unlocked. You should have had that same message first time you turned it on too.
Attempting to use firmware finder to apply updates , is not possible to unlock bootloader, so it had to have already been that way.

This is known message resulting from of having boooader unlocked. Few people have been trying to make it not show , but no one has made it public if they have been successful at hiding it.
Now you got that phone (used, I assume ).From eBay. Perhaps the previous owner found some way. And attempting to update made his "hack" undo. Don't really know.
You can check if bootloader lock status to be sure if it is unlocked or not.

that combination of unlocked bootloader and locked frp is often hard if not impossible to get past.
unless you can access developer options menu and enable "enable oem unlock" menu option.

"If you have any questions about the unlock code application, please contact us."
Nothing happens. I contacted them.
Will I ever need that unlock code given that it is already unlocked? Should I return/refund the phone and buy from Amazon UK or am I wasting my time, since I'll likely be requesting a unlock code and possibly be playing with roms in a few years. I keep phones as long as possible and a basic user which is why I have little knowledge with them.

I would try and get a refund (if you bought via PayPal I think you may get some kind of support).
You can get the 7x from UK retailers for as low as £210. But the current Amazon price of £228 is not bad.
Do you browse HotUKDeals? Always check there before buying anything in the UK or from China.

Hi. I'm having an issue with this new phone. It's Wowi Ultra SQ766. On start up interface the 'Red State' notice comes up, goes off for 5 seconds and comes back on. The full message states:
'Red State
Your device has failed verification and may not work properly.
Please download boot image with correct signature or disable verified boot.
Your device will reboot in 5 seconds'.
Could you please help me out with a solution or fix for this.

Hi there.
I've been stuck with RMM State Prenormal on my Galaxy A8 2018 for 3 months, waiting for this to be gone. Nothing to do, after 3 months of uptime, it still there.
Many tricks with time and date hasn't worked anymore, but finally I just success to bypass this s***.
What I've done :
_Install stock rom from original carrier (BOG for me, I were on XEF for deleting bloatwares).
_At boot, do NOT put your Google account and Samsung account, only Wi-Fi and that's all.
_When install wizard is finished, do NOT activate Developpers Options. Go directly at time and date, set it 8 days before after desactivate "Auto time and date".
_Go to System Update. Then untick "auto update" and check for update.
_Reboot.
_Go back to actual time and date, check again for update.
_Only NOW, activate Developpers Options and OEM Unlock should be there.
It worked for me after MANY MANY tricks, attempts, and hopeless. This way given me another luck to root my phone and now I'm done and free with it.
Sorry if my english is sometimes bad. Hoping I've helped some users.
Regards !
Edit : I did it on bootloader V3 (U3BRJ4).
I hope it actually works with other a530f
because I have a530w and a530w doesn't have rmm prenormal in bootloader, I can't really test this
Yup, canadian and some versions of samsung smartphone (Verizon or something else if I don't mistake ?) doesn't have any method to unlock their bootloaders because they are locked by default and forever. But I've posted it for those who have international variant (SM-A530F for me).

no, I mean that Canadian variant of a8 is exactly the opposite of what you said, rmm is always unlocked, so oem unlock is always there
and a8 is the only exynos Samsung device in canada so we're lucky we didn't get any snapdragon version or that would be locked forever
Oh, mea culpa. I thought it was like Galaxy S4 who were totally locked (received one from Canada to France, last year, I were disapointed that is not GT I9500 but SGH I337M).
But the result stay the same, this is for unlocked bootloader that can be "locked" by RMM State ^^

You don't have oem unlock to use Odin.
Hi All,
Happy new year. I had been struggling to root the S9 and getting the following error
"only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed(recovery)" while ODIN flashing of TWRP 3.2.1.1.tar
I tried a few methods mentioned in the forum - Wipe/factory reset->Flash Official firmware-> again TWRP using odin
Also tried OEM unlock option. Still cannot succeed in rooting the phone.
Kindly help me with the files and procedure to root and install stock rom. Thank you all in advance.

Hello, I tried following the tutorial that seems to work for everyone

But my basic problem is that when i try to flash twrp it says " only official binaries can be flashed"

I am sharing current state of my phone. If somebody can guide me i would be thankful.

the prevailing theory is that you have to leave the phone on for 168 hours, after a fresh install, enable dev options, then uncheck the box. The FRP lock will re-enable it self even if you have the OEM unlock toggle switched to off. Reflash your stock firmware in Odin, set the phone up for as much as youd need in 168 hours worth of usage, then do the oem unlock. Then immediately boot to DL mode and flash twrp

The FRP lock will re-enable it self even if you have the OEM unlock toggle switched to off. Reflash your stock firmware in Odin, set the phone up for as much as youd need in 168 hours worth of usage, then do the oem unlock. Then immediately boot to DL mode and flash twrp

there is also another zip file to flash when dealing with the oem unlock to make sure it doesnt lock again. ill have to look for it, but i came across it originally in the Galaxy A8 forum. You might also have to wait 168 hours and then try the toggle again. This 168 hour thing can be a real bugger.

No, the thing is that my OEM UNLOCK is toggled On, which means my bootloader is unlocked.
That should mean that my rmm state should not be prenormal,
But its not like that.
Despite flashing new rom and having oem unlock already toggled on which means unlocking the bootloader,
I am still unable to flash twrp.
What else can i do? Any solution ?

i know the toggle is on, but that doesnt ensure that your bootloader is unlocked. If your rmm state is anything other than prenormal, then its definitely not unlocked.
rmm prenormal has been a bane of the samsung xda corner of the internet for a while now, read this
im betting its the 168 hour issue. dont reboot your phone for 168 hours and toggle it off then back on

no, im not sure. but the worst thing that could happen is the phone making you wait another 168 hours if you toggle it once and it makes you wait for the second toggle again.

only issue that could cause, if it was even going to cause an issue, is reset the time since previous reboot, in which case all that would happen is having to wait 168 hours again if that doesnt work

Hi i've got a question. I recently purchased the A5 2017 (A520F) secondhand and i want to put a custom rom on it. I have unlocked and flashed tons of phones and tablets in the past so i'm far from a newbee.
My phone has "Bootloader OEM unlock" in dev options.
When i go into odin download mode (vol-, home+power) i dont get any message regarding "RMM state: Prenormal". FRP is unlocked.
Does this mean i'm all set to flash anything without the RMM.zip?
I'm having the latest security patch Jan2020 and Oreo bootloader. Knox is 0x0. Are there any other ways to check RMM state?

Reboot device just to check that OEM unlock is still enabled.
Yes, Bootloader OEM unlock switch is still activated.

Then read a guide like this, there are other workarounds though https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...e-prenormal-on-oneui-android-pie-9-0.3911862/ but don't flash custom binaries while you don't bypass RMM prenormal status.
Yeah this requires a linux distro so i guess for that method i have to run linux in a VM or dualboot on another partition.
However, it still doesn't explain why i don't have a RMM message. Maybe RMM is gone altogether (not sure if thats possible tho).
Anyway thanks for your replies.

Oh, sorry, I read bad, and nothing about KG?
It means you don't have remote restrictions, even with FRP.
In this case, you are able to flash custom binaries.
No problem bud, happens to the best of us. Nope nothing about KG either. I wil try and flash twrp etc. Worst case i'll flash back official firmware. Thanks for the help!
Solved: There was no RMM/KG on the device at all so i went and flashed TWRP and Rise-Q OneUI 2.5. Everything went smooth as butter.
Good, if it is not present in download screen, then in this device, either RMM/KG are not implemented.
