Since its boost you may need to reprovision or reactivate the device. I'm pretty sure there's a dialer code in the stock ROM to do that I just can't remember which one at the moment.
Hello everyone, I have a Moto Z2 Force XT1789-06. I had updated the firmware and after that the phone is working but the baseband is not found and the IMEI is unknow and of course there is no wi-fi and no carrier signal. I have already tried to flash the original retail firmware and it can be installed accurately but the baseband and IMEI are not identified.
Do you know how can I repair it?
Thank you.

lol i found that there is not issue for imei = 0, my xt1635 has dual sim , and both IMEI=0, and voice / data work fine

Well I had the problem of baseband not found but I could solve it, I still continue without a mobile network although the IMEI does appear. The only thing I did was update from nougat to Oreo. The phone is the AT & T variant and is unlocked for all networks. Any solution to have mobile network again?

Have you tried installing the latest version of the AT&T OCSX27.109-47-14 firmware? It also happened to me not to have a telephone network and wifi. It is caused by the wrong NON-HLOS.bin file.

Yes, that version is the one that installs first now I am with the OPXS27.109-34-15. I'll try flashing the stock ROM maybe the problem is solved.
I managed to get myself in this situation this weekend... When I start my phone in fastboot mode it shows "baseband <not found>" and when I start it I get no wifi or network.
I've flashed almost every Retail firmware from this repo to no avail: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/nash/official/RETAIL/
Any particular version I should be installing perhaps? Could I install another version that is not retail? Mine is the -05 variant.

Have you tryed this: https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/downgrade-from-android-9-0-pie-back-oreo-your-pixel-0183424/ ?
I guess it will be the same for our selfphone with different fastboot files.
A lot of people are having this problem after upgrading to android 9.
Good luck
Having same issue after downgrade. SIM slots are swapped. If I replace SIM in slot then now need to reboot phone in order that phone recognizes SIM is inside and connects cellular. Any guide how to get this sorted for Oreo?
same here. If my sim card could get signal, it will lose it again. Disabling sim 2 is could get this fix, but I need 2 sim card active. Still no one know how to fix this?
Same problem here!

For solve SIM issue:
1. Install Oreo via fastboot normally.
2. Flash modem.img from Android Pie via fastboot ("fastboot flash modem modem.img").

Modem.img is in OTA folder of the tool.
Put phone on fastboot mode - turn off then turn on with vol down + power
In tool folder click on open CMD here
Enter CD OTA
Enter command "fastboot devices", there should be some id (your phone)
Enter "fastboot flash modem modem.img"
There will be Success result
Enter "fastboot reboot"

Has anyone flashed the retail/retus image from mirrors.lolinet.com on this to use with a different carrier? Boost requires you to use their services for 12 months before you're eligible for network unlocking
It will most likely work
I can confirm that flashing retus to the Boost variant works fine to unbrand the device.

Worked fine on the Boost network when I tried it.
Flashing RetUS firmware
Earlier this month I picked up a Boost Moto G Fast. I was disappointed to find how much bloatware came with it and that it doesn't include WiFi calling. I have not unlocked the bootloader while I decide if I want to keep this phone or not.
I just downloaded RetUS firmware from lolinet.com.
Do you have instructions for flashing this firmware? I couldn't find any for this phone so I was planning to tweak the instructions for flashing the Moto G7 series at https://forum.xda-developers.com/g7-power/how-to/guide-moto-g7-power-supra-flash-to-t3927138
Any idea if I can flash this without unlocking the bootloader? I'm assuming the factory image is signed by Motorola and should be accepted by the bootloader without unlocking.
Do you have to wipe userdata after flashing or can you keep your apps and data intact since the firmware should be the same version?
Does the RetUS firmware support WiFi calling?
I'll probably be able to answer these questions myself soon enough but I thought I'd ask first.
So after flashing the retus firmware myself on my moto g fast from boost mobile, inserting my active SIM card from tmobile did not work and the uicc said it's still lock to sprint network so I don't believe we can get network unlock simply by flashing different firmware on this

Nope. I bricked my phone trying. Do not attempt to flash anything without unlocking the bootloader first.
Flashing the the firmware doesn't remove the carrier lock. Currently have mine on RETUS stock and it still says it's on the Sprint network and the software channel says "Boost."
Unfortunately it doesn't look like there is anyone out there able to unlock these devices either.
I also been trying to work with this...no avail. So far:
Unlocked bootloader since unboxing in December...thanks Motorola developers..
I lost count on how many times I bricked this phone.... probably 7..
I sent it over to MX last month to see how it behaved. They couldn't activate. "Phone is too new'...WTH..
Now is sitting on my night stand. With games apps, Kodi...just waiting to be flashed again. PS: I hate you boost mobile!!

I switched away from Boost back in December and recently switched back, so now I can answer this question. No, the RetUS firmware does not support WiFi calling.
