I know this will sound crazy, but I actually like the OOS camera app. If I were to switch to an AOSP rom like Lineage or Omni, is there a way I could install and use the OOS camera app? Are there apk's of the OOS camera app from the 5T? Do they work on these ROMS?
Thanks!
I'd like to know if this is possible as well.
I know people have tried and it works. But there's no pro mode and portrait mode (only auto and hdr). No idea where they get the apk from tho?
I will just leave it here.

I really want to use LOS or AOSP based rom,
but stock camera app for LOS doesn't seems good enough compare to MIUI stock camera app.
(of course I can use Google camera app, but there's problem with front camera HDR+...)
So, My question is, is there any camera port for Whyred?
(I tried Mi A1 ver, but HDR doens't work)

Did you find any on XDA Note 5 pro topic? No? Then there is no ported stock cam for customs.
Any camera app with working Slow Motion mode on custom roms?
I'm running LOS 15.1 rn and I've tried slow motion on Google Cam and OOS Camera. None of them work.
Any suggestions?
I to am looking for an answer to this. I had tried a few custom ROMs but came back to stock (well open beta) because of the camera.
I tried Google camera mod and it has the slow motion (with audio!) And HDR+.

But Google camera slow motion doesn't work for me. The camera freezes.
Where did you get the Google camera app from? I honestly don't remember how I got it. I'll have to have a look. But a quick look through magisk and there's a "Google camera fix" module. Maybe try that?
On oreo Gcam slowmo don't work.
You can install nokia camera work but not the same quality of oos camera..
the Nokia camera port have a working slow mo on Oreo...it's a little buggy but mostly works, search in the forums you'll find it.
Have you found any slow motion camera that works on Android Pie? I've tried Snapdragon Camera which crashes now but worked for Oreo. Nokia Camera is able to switch to slow motion mode, even save the recorded video but the output is the same as normal video.
Did anyone find an answer to this? I've heard that the OnePlus camera is on apkmirror and that could work..
As the title says. I have a Google Pixel with well known good camera. Will I loose photo quality by install LineageOS?
I guess that yes, default camera of LineageOS is inferior to camera app on Google Pixel. I'm wondering if default Google Camera APK would work without any issues (or maybe there is already a GCam mod for that combination of OS and hardware available?)
looking ot see if there is a way to get the OOS camera to work on AOSP. the AOSP camera is buggy with some apps that require the camera and wont load.
Use gcam, it's the same if not better in some situations

I don't have any fc... To get rid of the black screen install google photos
Due to the fact that OOS 12 is now coloros 12, many will switch to aosp. , this question is very relevant! Gcam is good. But video is best with a stock camera.
Post title.
I've had this phone for nearly a year at this point, and the main reason I got it was on my OP7P, all the nice custom roms I could try out. However, the difference between there and here is that custom ROMs on that phone had OOS Cam, they also had the ability to dualboot.
I've avoided being on a custom rom this entire time is because I don't want to give up OOS Cam, but what do you guys feel about the lack of it? I know GCam exists but you can't use 4K120/60 video recording with GCam as far as I know. Has there been any changes to the app to allow for that?
I think that more and more people are asking for it to be integrated in custom ROMs. The thing is that on the opposite of the OnePlus 7 OOS cam app, the OnePlus 9 Pro's is heavily tied to OPPO's ColorOS Camera. And from what I understood, ColorOS has been a pain to deal with for developers, as OPPO isn't as community orentied as OnePlus.
That's one of the things stopping me from switching to a custom ROM. When I've tried GCam on OOS, none of the ports are stable enough. I'm not a huge camera user, but if my camera could crash when I WANT to use it, that would piss me off.
I found somewhere in this forum port of OOS cam, photos and videos working, some features missing tho, lucky I don't use them
So, custom ROM can live with OOS cam

That camera is from OP7 AFAIk, and it's next to useless. photo processing is broken, and video fails at 60fps, so people may as well use Gcam since it's does a far better job than that broken port.
