I purchased these last week as a replacement for my original LeEco CDLA earphones, which have very flimsy cabling .
The sound quality of them is pretty good, as well as the fit and finish.
By the way, I'm neither the seller nor an affiliate. So, I'm not profiting from this.
Kind regards,
Bill

There's a mention in the product description of it using LeEco's decoding chip. While this isn't an explicit description of the technology, it is CDLA - I'm using it on my own device with absolutely no problem, and the sound quality is comparable to LeEco's own earphones... ?
well when you plug the cdla you get a message that CDLA HD mode is enabled! good way to find out if they are CDLA compatible.

I never received such a message when using LeEco's original earphones. Granted, I've been using custom ROMs on the device almost since the moment I received, but I don't even recall seeing when using the factory ROM.
Regardless, the earphones I suggested in the original post work just fine...
this is what I gets when I connect my CDLA earphones

LeEco's earphones also light up when in CDLA mode (orange light on side of ear piece). Mine have stopped working after I got them wet but thankfully replacements are cheap to buy from China. Once you've experienced CDLA, every other earphones I've tried sound terrible IMO.

Heyyo, those only have a frequency response of 48KHz and no mention of bit rate... CDLA's integrated DAC is 96KHz at 24bit.
Most Type-C connectors with a basic DAC are only 48KHz at 16bit, so my guess is these linked ones are also only 16bit.
48KHz at 16bit is still decent, but tbh if you want the best sound quality it is always best to get a proper DAC and then whatever headset you want, but of course that will cost a lot more than something like these linked ones.

A couple of days ago I didn't know what Apt-X was, but now I know, and... finally understand why bluetooth streaming was so horrible with my HTC Desire!
So since the S3 has this codec, and since I am going to get the S3, I would like to know which is the best bluetooth stereo headset out there that supports this?
HS3000 looks good, and might be the thing for me but it's more than a year old AFAIK. Any other suggestions? Can be any brand.
EDIT: Sound quality is priority.

What's the issue with the HS3000 being a year old? I have one and use it with my One X (also Apt-X capable), great piece of kit and cheap too. Besides that Apt-X headsets are fairly scarce at present, I know Sennheiser have several, but the prices are rather prohibitive...
If you want a real capable headphone, Sennheiser MM-550x/450x seems like a true winner in that regard
I'm looking for a new Bluetooth headset for music too... i'm currently using a Sony Ericsson MW600 which is pretty good but I'm keen to get something with apt-x support.
The HS3000 looks ok but ideally i'd like a display so i can see the number of people who call and also track information... does anyone know of a bluetooth headset with apt-x support which also has a display?
Well i'm gonna throw my MW-600 on it. It has superb sound and served me well in both my HTC Wildfire and Huawei U8800... Although if the in-ear buds that samsung provides, sound good i wont bother replacing them
Are any of the headsets mentioned "lossless" when walking fast?

Don't really think they're worth it. For that price you could have the HS3000 and buy a set of $200 IEMs and a set of $200 cans which you can use with anything with a 3.5mm output, or even use the HS3000 as an input for anything with a 3.5mm input. For most people that'll be a much higher value proposition.

Another vote for HS3000, it supports Apt-X. Using it with my HOX with some £170 iems and sounds fine for wireless playback. Small and compact.

got the HS3000 two days ago, and i must say its atleas as good as the mw600 it sounds good feels good well its all good BUT thers a damn BUT in there, its the answer button everytime you press it but mistake or otherwise it want's to redial the last number dialed. i havnt found a workaround other than installing a "call confirm" app. so now i only need a tasker profile to activate this between the hours i need it to.
Been using the Nokia Essence, it also has NFC (unfortunatly it doesnt work as planned with Android Devices). However, it does its job pretty well and did i mention it has NFC?

Yes real easy, I'm hoping that someone will develop an call confirm app that turns on at bt connect, the only apps I have found turns call confirm off on bt connection.

Sony is supposed to be releasing the Smart Wireless Headset Pro which appears to have all features of the MW600 with the addition of a micro-SD card slot (2GB card included) and Bluetooth 3.0. It looks like a nice upgrade from the MW600, but it appears that it does not support apt-X as this feature is not listed under the specs tab. It's also a bit expensive, but the street price might be somewhere south of the MSRP of $149.
EDIT: Some features are shown in this video

I bought a really nice set of in-ear headphones to work with my N5.
However they don't appear to work with the N5x.
Have they decided to change the spec to an "Apple" standard rather than the normal "Android" standard?
If so, this may well be the most annoying/expensive decision ever!

Unfortunately this might be the case! I just received my 5X. It works great with standard headphones (HiFiMan RE-0, no mic), but I get no sound when plugging in the headset that I had used with my Nexus 5 (Xiaomi Piston). Neither the mic nor the headphones work. Instead, audio is diverted to the phone's speakers.
I'll run some more tests when I have time.
Looks like these people are reporting the same issue that I'm experiencing

This is the response I got from Project Fi Customer Service on this issue:
Thank you for contacting Project Fi Support. I am so sorry this process is taking longer than expected, but you are in the right place to get your answers. Unfortunately, because the Nexus 5X is such a new device there have not been many choices when it comes to accessories including headsets. There has been no update either on where and when you can go to find compatible accessories. What I can do is suggest that you try Bluetooth. Bluetooth is compatible with all Nexus devices that are running on Android 5.0 and higher. Below you will see a link that will walk you through the steps to connect to Bluetooth.
Not looking good! I tried the workaround posted in the androidcentral thread. If you hold down the play/pause button on the inline controls while you plugin the headset, then at least you'll get sound. Mic and controls still won't work, but you have at least some functionality. Annoying, but it worked for my Xiaomi Pistons.
Anyone tried pushing it in very hard? Sounds dumb, but I've read about other people needing to push in hard to get it working right - This was to do with complaints about poor volume/quality, though.
Found this on reddit, too: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus/comments/3qf2kw/nexus_5x_headphone_jack_not_working/
Can anyone confirm?

I just tested my Xiaomi Piston v3s and they work as intended. Volume buttons work, play/pause works, and audio via the earbuds. I did a cursory search and it seems the v3s have CTIA wiring. Most previous Android devices were OMTP (except the Nexus4/5, and my previous G2; maybe it's an LG thing?), which the Piston v2s are.

You're right. I did a bit more searching and it seems the v2s are also CTIA. I have a pair of them as well, so I'll give the a go and see if my results are the same.
EDIT: Same behavior that you're seeing with the v2s. They must be wired OMTP, as iPhone users reported issues using them.

Thanks for double-checking your V2s, that makes me feel better.
I tested my wife's iPhone headphones. The headphones and mic work, they don't have controls so there was nothing to test there.
I guess you're right, it's as simple as OMTP/CTIA. Some people in the other thread reported that their buttons weren't working when using iPhone-compatible headsets on the 5X, which made me think this was a more complicated issue.
Piston V3s are back-ordered on Amazon currently, but I'm looking forward to them!
Does anyone get this problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/help/how-to-off-listening-plugging-headphones-t3234344
This is just with a normal 2-band headphone jack
Rang google support and they say there arent any other reported cases of this so maybe I/we have defective units?
Thanks for checking, @cthip.
Since I don't have the phone yet, could someone help me figure out compatibility here, please? I hope I'm reading this right, but I'm not sure.
If a headset with inline controls works with the N4, it should work with the N5X. Yay or nay?
Cheers!

In theory, it should work just fine, as the Nexus 4 and 5 also used CTIA. I found an old post stating the different wiring schemes could be denoted by the color of the rings; gray for CTIA, and black for OMTP.

Good luck with that. If I were you in that situation. I would save some more for a better IEM. I don't like Bluetooth headphones in general. But you said you have a 20$ budget so I wouldn't think you dould get a bluetooth headset for that price range. And that Bluetooth headset you ware talking about. Similar to a previous response, I find it hard to believe you can get any decent Bluetooth headset for $20.
Also, I'm not persuaded to the Bluetooth headphone camp (and hate that Apple has started this trend of removing the minijack from phones, with other manufacturers following suit). At a minimum, I need a solution that will work in all situations. When the batteries die on your BT headset, then what? If you don't have another headset, you can't listen to anything, that's what! And I honestly can't be bothered to have to remember to charge another device all the time.
The Panasonic Ergofit RP-TCM125 are an excellent wired earbud choice for under $20. Read up more here: http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-headphones-under-40/
Yes, I know the Panasonics have been surpassed on this article by the AKG. But honestly, I was too lazy to have to type in all my info to order the AKGs (which also cost more) from the link, when I could just get the Panasonics through Amazon.

I would rather buy a stock or a disposable headphone and save up for something better like Etymotic or Sennheiser .
oem htc headphone for m8
So, i saw lots of discussions around for a usb-c headphones that actually works with pixel 2 (mine is pixel 2xl)..
I ordered long time ago this usb-c headset from AliExpress, and forgot about it, then i received it today.. And it wooooorks.. Its actually really good (not saying high end headset good) but high volume, definitely noticeable bass, and very cheap (about 10$)..
So the secret was when i was searching for something that works with pixel 2 is to have CDLA (maybe a dax feature or a driver in it)..
Below you can see its picture and a link.. but also you can just search for usb c with CDLA on AliExpress..
The link:
Original Letv CDLA Earphone Letv 2Pro HiFi Chip Inbedded Continual Digital Lossless Audio Type-C for Xiaomi 6 Gold Galved Mic
http://s.aliexpress.com/z2aAjyMf
(from AliExpress Android)
What i don't like (but can live with it since its that cheap) is that its not in ear, its more like the shape of apple's one's.. And the mic is on the wire of the left ear (strange given that am used to the mic being on the right ear wire)
Honestly, the main reason for me to use it is that am on the phone a lot, and i want a quick plug and play mono headset, so am going to cut off one of the ears speakers (mono conversion).. And with it being that cheap, i don't mind the cutting (at least not a 50$ plus for an earset that i will end up cutting)
BAHAHA Looks like they took their iPhone headphones and put a USB C on instead of a Lightning. But having used the apple ones I might be interested in a pair since I kinda like em.

Can't get these to work on my phone. Is there an option I haven't enabled, or is Flash Kernel interfering in someway maybe?
Can confirm they work on my computer so its not the headphones themselves
EDIT: so interestingly I flipped around the usb cord and it works haha. Weird how it works one way and not the other.
Mine arrived yesterday and the microphone works perfectly.

I've just done an extensive test of the speaker , Bluetooth, wired headphones and quad DAC using a large selection of headphones. Type C too.

Use this thread to add any other audio reviews you've liked plus headphones you're using that sound great with the V30.
Any questions too. I'll try and answer what I can.
One good one is by Pocketnow https://youtu.be/1K7oK7yUE0g
Nice update Gavin
Wondered if you anyone tried the Sound magic E80's with the V30 and what they are like

Thanks mate. Not yet, but I’ll see if I can get a pair and let you know.
Thanks OP, watched the video, but still had a question. So far I have not used any headphones or seen the DAC settings. However I have used the USB out to my car audio system and it works perfectly, short of DSD, it plays everything else fine. It looks like its playing DSD but I dont hear any output.
My question is does the DAC come into play with the USB or is it bypassed?

I have them. They are my favorite IEH. Sound great with the V30 and trigger the HIM. I have about 4 different sets but haven't tried any from the article.

That is good to know. Will have to try and get some ASAP.
There are 3 variants of E80
The first E80, has no mic only audio
Then came the E80S, has mic but only one button on the remote
And now the E80C, has mic but 3 buttons on the remote, like what you could expect with stock earphones
Reviews are good with LG

Thanks for that link.
I have the E80s. I believe the actually earphone is the same with all models. I like controlling everything from the phone, so never use the button on the headphone. Depending on if you need the extra functionality, you can save some money by going without.

It's so rare for me that I'm not sure.
Got the Fiio F9 3 way balanced hybrid In ear headphones yesterday. Even just using the 3.5mm non balanced cable with Quad Dac in normal mode, the pairing was outstanding. Quad Dac off was very noticeable worse.
Hi, nice video and review gavi...
I made a coment and question on youtube about that video, maybe you did not sow it so i past it here again anyway:
¨Nice video. Thanks Gavin. I am interested in this phone especially because of the audio, so this video is the best that i could find. But i have a question to make you, if you will so kind to answer me.
when you say trigger the DAC you mean the Amplifier? Because my guess is the DAC can be activated no matter the type of headphones impedance. Yes or not?
So the audio quality should be pretty much the same if not perhaps a little more stable, flat frequency variation.¨ Thank you in advance.

Has anyone use in pair with Sennheiser PXC 550? How do we know if the phone is using Aptx or not? Since PXC 550 support this codec, though its not the HD
