A friend gave me his phone after it died by itself.
It behaves kinda weird one time it showed me a red charging light another time it showed me the lg boot logo, but most of the time it doesn't do anything.
It already has a new battery and it died by itself (on day it turnd off by itself and nerver recovered) so I guess it's a faulty board?
Is this a solvable Problem or should he just buy a new phone?
Infos:
- Unlocked bootloader (2 years ago I used it with a custom rom but now it only runs on stock with stock recovery so no twrp)
- no twrp
- has new battery
- runs stock
- no idea which firmware version
- out of guarantee
- died by itself
- shows as "9008" com port when connected to a pc

So today I tried flashing android 5.0 on my T-mobile LG G3 D851. I put it into download mode, started the flash and waited. My LG flash tool then crashed and closed. My phone was %6 through the installation however and was just left frozen after it crashed. I tried every way possible to restart it and get out of the screen while keeping it plugged in, but I couldn't...so I took out the battery and put it back in. Now nothing is turning on, I can't put it in download mode and the charging LED doesn't light up, etc. It's completely bricked....what do I do? I've already tried taking out the battery and waiting and plugging in the cord and then battery. Please help! I can't afford the insurance or another phone...
EDIT: Also the battery does have charge...although I don't know how long it will last.
EDIT 2: I just realized this flash was for the 855 variant..not 851. Does this mean that I am just screwed?
It means that you got expensive brick.
You cant enter into download mode or recovery?
Probably only help is jtag. Find someone who can do that.
Sounds like someone has learned a very expensive lesson! Have you tried to factory reset it?
Yeah JTAG is all you got if no download mode

The linked solution works only if the device shows some signs of life - atleast a boot logo.
i have a D851 that a friend bricked. She tried upgrading to Lollipop and flashed the AT&T baseband on this TMobile version. The result is a hard bricked device which does not even seem to power on. Shows no signs of life, except when connected to a windows pc. It shows up as 'LG Androidnet USB modem' in the device manager. No boot logo, recovery, or download mode. Fortunately she has IMEI and twrp backups for this phone (boot, efs1, efs2, radio, rpm, tz). I did some research on JTag solutions. Unfortunately, none of the boxes support the D851, yet.
Any ideas on how to recover this device would be greatly appreciated.

Nope. Only LG Androidnet USB modem'
So my G3 16gb version just got bricked..
I had CM13 on it and it just shut down on me, I've had roms since the first day on this smartphone.
So I turned it back on (had to remove the battery), but then I realized that the screen was all black but the smartphone was still on... (weird)
So I took the battery off and waited for it to start and like after 1-2 minutes it just went black but the screen was still on.
Now it doesnt boot into TWRP, or download mode.
If i try to enter download mode, it just shows the LG logo, and after 5-7 minutes the download icon appears then goes to fastboot
If I just turn it on like if it wasnt bricked its stuck at the LG logo..
What can I do? I tried the KDZ flash but since I have no download mode I can't use it..
I also saw this link and didnt help me https://www.reddit.com/r/LGG3/comments/2qe5sr/in_need_of_serious_help_stuck_in_fastbootno/
The only thing that i havent tried was this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...y-download-t3053985/post60106965#post60106965
And the pin shortening one..
Theres nothing on COMs before anyone asks...
Please help me
EDIT: Downloaded files from here http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G3/D855/stock_partitions/10A_16G and tried flashing with this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...y-download-t3053985/post60106965#post60106965
No luck, it gave me a bunch of errors writing to the memory : http://pastebin.com/raw/dMRvsnXr
If you did nothing to brick it then it is a hardware failure (eMMC is dead).
Nah.. cm13 and emmc bug = known
Check the cm13 forum. Can be fixed no worries. Basically d855 I unbreakable as I discovered lately.

Might be a bug that is right but trust me if you eMMC breaks and you can't download to it, it is a hardware problem.

Sure. But on the d855 there is a way out. By activating the USB quality 9008 mode. With the wire trick. So it's bricked, but it can be rescued.

No you get it wrong. It's 2 different things. If you brick and your eMMC is fine, yes you can go to 9008. If you eMMC is damaged you can still go to 9008 but it will fail to write on eMMC and fail to recognize it.
I understand. But this error is known to happen with cm13. So nothing broken I would say. Had it all ready 2 time on cm13 never happened with stock based or cm12 for that matter.
Hi everyone
I having this problem with my lg g3 d855 ... My phone was at 5% then i wanted to remove kingroot because i wanted to flash super su. After uninstalling kingroot (in the app) the app crashed ant after few seconds my phone turned off... i was thinking my phones battery just died, but i was wrong. My phone wont turn on now :/... Only response i get from it then i plug it in the charger without battery (it show no battery error)... then i put battery in, screen goes blank.

And Thanks for replay
I was in the middle of unbrick my g3 from hard brick to soft brick. I flash firmware using lg up at 99% then the phone died as it tried to reboot. It won't boot at all. As you said when remove the battery and connect charger, i can see my motherboard working with exclamation mark. As soon as i put the battery, motherboard out and no sign of life. Is this sign of bad battery or what. I don't have spared battery
I recommend first, to users with similar problems, to try first my guide in following link and after the pins in motherboard-tot files

I already follow your guide. The thing is, my device not detected on LG Smart Board Diagnostic. When i manually select my device, everything ok then it boot with blank screen with red and blue led. I can't even enter download mode. I use win 10 64bit with all driver installed and disable integrity checks and everything
Hello,
Recently, i went for a walk, and my OP5T just wouldn't boot anymore
It only show a black screen and the charging led is blue. When plugged, it charges, i can access the bootloader and the recovery, but i can't boot anymore.
I tried all these methods :
-Flashing a stock rom from the recovery (Using sideload, it says "done" but won't boot)
-Resetting completely the phone
-Using the Unbrick tool thing (it says "download complete" but the booting won't work)
-Other stuff i knew wouldn't work (i'm desperate)
So, i don't think the phone is dead, but i ran out of options :/
Any ideas ?
Thanks.

Some guy on 1+ forums told me
I have samsung s4 mini that suddenly won't turn on. The phone was not rooted, neither had custom recovery installed or custom rom. It was working fine and one day suddenly won't turn on. If i connect it with usb cable to pc in device manager, under 'other devices' it's shown as QHSUSB_DLOAD.
Any idea what happened to the phone and can it be fixed?

sadly, welcome to the club, the emmc memory chip is probably dead, but if you are lucky it's just corrupted (thought it might just be your battery). If corrupted you can try botching it with a debrick file put onto a 16Gig or 32Gig & boat from that, refer to the hard debrick thread. You need one that matches your bootloader (BL) rev so either a debrick image from an android 4.4.2 or 4.4.3 ( BL v1 & BL v2 respectively).
You might have to try the whole procedure multiple times, some report, but it never worked for me.
A repair shop may also be able to flash new system if memory chip is OK.
Else you can order a new motherboard, but you may decide a new phone is better to spend your money on
Yes, i think new phone will be better solution.
Hi, i can say for sure that the mobile's eMMC memory is dead. I already had that problem with another S4 Mini, and that was the reason. There is no fix for that (unless you want to send it to replace that memory, and would be more expensive than buying a new motherboard for that device)
