Stuck on “Google” screen, no boot - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

Was driving home last night, phone in cup holder and all of the sudden it just has a white screen with the google logo. I went into the boot loader and tried everything i could, including factory reset wipe. Same results.
Then I downloaded adb and fast boot and side loaded the latest firmware zip. The process completed successfully but nothing changed. Still stuck on “Google”
I’ve never customized any bootloaders or firmware, phone is bone stock.
edit: so from what I read online is that pretty much out of luck since my bootloader is locked and i have no way of unlocking it since it wont boot

Stuck on Google Screen after JB Update

Hi,
I've attempted the JB update
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737899..
fastboot flash boot boot.img etc.. which said all was well..
But now find that my phone will not boot up, doesn't get past the Google and unlock screen.
I've tried all combinations of volume buttons, I can get to the fasboot menu where I can choose either Recovery Mode, Power Off, Start or Restart bootloader.
None of these appear to do anything, recovery goes to the google a screen followed by an Android on it's back with an exclamation mark over it.. then goes to the Google and unlocked icon screen and stays there...
I fear my phone is bricked... Please help..

1.) Your phone is far from bricked at all. You have access to the boot loader (i.e. the screen with the options). The recovery you're seeing is stock recovery. All you need to do is go into boot loader and fastboot flash recovername (CWM) and you will have your custom recovery back to wipe data and reinstall a rom or restore a nandroid backup
Mine is doing the same thing, weird thing is, it was working since yesterday on jellybean, it just randomly froze this morning and and now won't boot..
im currently at work so i don't have admin rights to do a fastboot flash..
any idea why it would randomly stop working when i havn't flashed anything on it besides the jb rom?
Sorted..
Thanks for the comments.. yeah i was over-reacting a bit there..
I downloaded the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit, got a stock rom form gopogle, flashed it.. back to normal, well, it will be after i restore the CWM backup i took.. phew..
Thanks again
Ian.
Still stuck
I'm also stuck in the same situation(google with the unlock screen). I fear I'm a little more stuck. I also can see the recovery/restartbootloader screen. However, everything I try still comes back to that same google screen and gets hung up. Need some help!
this has happened twice today and i think it from using volume+

Boot into recovery, wipe cache, Reboot

Stuck at Samsung splash screen.

Hi,
I recently tried installing the new 4.3 update onto my Samsung Galaxy S3 I747. Also, I never rooted my phone and my carrier is Telus if that matters.
When my phone finished updating, it lead to the lock screen. Just as I was about to enter my pin and unlock it, the phone restarts and gets stuck on the Samsung splash screen. I have tried entering into recovery mode and then wiping the cache and restarting it, but no luck.
I do not wish to restore my phone back to factory settings because I do not want to lose my music and apps. Is there a solution that can fix it without wiping the memory?
Thanks.
edit: i left it charging for a few minutes while it was stuck on the samsung splash screen, and then it went to the lockscreen and restarted it self
... i have to wait five minutes before i can save my edit
editedit: it just went to lockscreen for a second again
editeditedit: its going back to lockscreen quite often and restarting it self

When you got it into recovery did you try to wipe data/factory reset??
But to be honest it sounds like your phone is soft bricked maybe. I'm experiencing the almost same problem with my AT&T sgh-i747. Mine is stuck at the Samsung Galaxy S III screen and doesn't go any further than that at all.
You will most likely have to do that same thing I am doing which is reflashing android 4.3 via odin. It may work for you, I'm pretty sure it'll work for mine. Head over here and read this thread and see if this can help if not let me know and we'll come up with somethin else to help you fix your phone. (If I'm correct following this thread and flashing via odin will not erase and of your data.)
Your only other real option is to install the 4.3 MJ2 leak via heimdall. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2496425
Heimdall will flash odin files. http://glassechidna.com.au/heimdall But odin will not flash heimdall files. It works much like odin flash in download mode so i'm told. I'm trying to figure it out now. I hope this helps.
I was never able to get the above Heimdall installed correctly on my pc. I am still stuck at the black and white galaxy s3 screen. I installed TWRP via odin to try my to run my nandroid i made earlier today and it says successful. But when I go to reboot It says No OS are you sure you want to reboot. I was already on 4.3.3 via the OTA update like you. And now i'm here turn phone on and it's going straight to download mode

Stuck in Boot

Watch gets past the ASUS Boot Screens but gets stuck in the Android Boot animation.
I've tried booting into recovery (swipe top right to bottom left) but it doesn't work.
I can get into Fastboot and from there I've tried wiping the cache, unlocking, and relocking the bootloader. None of those options seem to do anything.
Background:
I've got two Android watches of my own (360 and LG G) and was actually just helping a friend upgrade the firmware on his ASUS ZenWatch since he's got an iphone.
1) I tethered to my phone and began the firmware download from stock, but it kept throwing an error about running out of memory, even after a factory reset.
2) I booted into Fastboot unlocked and wiped the cache. After this it successfully downloaded and upgraded to Android 5.0.
3) Went to download the next version (5.1 is needed for iPhone) and kept getting an error (this time different, couldn't get any matches doing Google searches). Tried a factory reset and it went into this mode where it makes it to the Android Wear boot animation and stays there until the battery dies.
I'm thinking the watch has some sort of hardware defect since he says he bought the watch new and it's failing on all firmware upgrades and won't boot into recovery.
Any suggestions? I'm not aware of any stock recovery images.

Another Bootloop issue

I'm having problems getting my phone past the bootup screen. It first loads the logo then goes to the animated logo then the rethink possible animation and then finally gets stuck on the glowing samsung logo. It then shuts off and redoes the loop a couple of times until it stops with the battery charge up screen and freezes there until I remove the battery.
History: Purchased an att phone for the mb to replace my original phones because it had the insane chip. Had to root it to be able to unlock the phone with my carrier(telus). Since I was in it I flash the DN4 custom rom and everything needed into the phone. The phone functioned fine for about a month and then frequent freezes and restarts started happening. Near the end, the phone was stuck in a boot loop, loading into the DN4 animation boot screen then shutting itself off then on again to endlessly repeat the loop.
Present: At first I was able to get into TWRP and tried some things in there but nothing happened. When there I notice it stated "internal memory 0"-not sure if this means anything.
I was able to flash the saved recovery file from TWRP. Once I did that I could no longer go in TWRP and now have to use the samsung install/recovery.
I have since flashed the stock rom several times with odin and also wiped data/factory reset many times still does the same in bootup. Tried flashing TWRP into phone using odin 3.07 but failed.
What should be my next move? Pretty new at this so I may be missing something very simple or perhaps a dead phone???
Finally got the phone to boot up and run fine. It seems everything was good except the battery was acting up.
Next step is to get the battery to charge when phone is off.
I'll post this question in new thread.

HELP - New Update Bricked 5x

Today I downloaded the new firmware update for the 5x. I installed using fastboot as normal, knowing that boot.img, vendor.img and system.img had changed.
I used fastboot to flash all three, then booted to TWRP and flashed SuperSU 2.76, ElementalX kernel and the AdAway file hosts.
The phone booted as normal and was running just fine for about 2 hours. Then, while playing music, I attempted to unlock the screen with the screen passcode. The device froze.
Attempting a reset only allowed it to get to the "Google" screen with the lock on the bottom, then the screen would go black. I could hard reset into bootloader mode. I attempted to flash back to stock, but the same freeze on the "Google" screen happened upon reboot.
Now, the device will not even get to bootloader mode. Holding the power + either of the two volume keys renders nothing on the screen, nor does plugging into USB on the computer. I'm fearing the device is hard bricked. Any recommendations?

Hi Tulsa,
Unfortunately, that post doesn't apply to this situation, as my bootloader is unlocked, and I can't even get to the stage of having the drivers recognize the phone, because the phone will not turn on to bootloader mode, recovery or download mode.
UPDATE:
The phone reached the point last night where it would not even power on, access bootloader or download mode. Any button presses/holds left the screen black.
Today, for whatever reason, the device booted into fastboot mode. I was able to flash the complete stock factory image for the August security update Android 7.0 - the first stable build. However, when the device began to boot, it once again does not get past the Google page with the lock on the bottom. The screen goes black after that without entering the boot animation.
I've called Google to get a warranty replacement unit sent.
I was having a similar situation last night, gave up after trying for a few hours...the googs is sending a "new" refurbished one. I had 1 month left on the factory warranty

Thanks for the reply, quadracer. I'll be taking the same path you are - Google already has the reorder on the way. Still trying to tinker in case there's a chance. Luckily, all the pictures from my engagement this past weekend were backed up to Photos or I'd be devastated.
