failed to mount /hidden (invalid argument) - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i am having trouble with my T705. I have tried several versions of odin and have been unable to flash sock firmware. I have tried at least a dozen original firmware versions (kitkat, lollipop and marshmallow) and it will hand a various places. like shoot.bin or hidden.img. The only luck i have had flashing twrp is using odin 3.7 (new versions of odin will not flash twrp)
I am able to flash a few different roms, but anytime i flash anything via twrp i get the message "failed to mount /hidden (invalid argument)"
i may have caused this by accidentally trying to flash a T713 rom (i have several different samsung tablets)
i have tried removing hidden.img from a stock rom and repacking it but odin ends up hanging somewhere else instead.
any ideas would be appreciated. thanks

Why would you flash firmware from a completely different device? No hope whatsoever of it working on a T705.
I'm pretty sure you're issue is region related.
You need to ensure the firmware is for your device region.
I'd also recommend using Odin 3.10.7

Thanks it was not on purpose. I own 4 different Samsung tabs ..flashed the wrong one by mistake. I have had the tab s for more than a year now. Have flashed everything on it until now with no problems. I have tried serial versions of odin including 3.10.7 and I have tried a dozen diff t705 firmwares from sammobile

I'm having the exact same problem
failed to mount /hidden (invalid argument)
may have been caused by flashing an incorrect rom for my device which is the T705W variant

and wtih ODIN multiple SAMMOBILE stock roms fail.. all except for this
2015-09-13 Canada (Koodo Mobile) 5.0.2 T705WVLU2BOH1 T705WOYA2BOH1 YES
I'm going to try the BELL Mobile Stock rom now..

I wouldn't worry about it, the error is erroneous.

Thanks...my tab actually lost the ability to recognize the SIM card which is why I have been trying to get back to stock (it happened before after after flashing various lineage roms and flashing stock always fixed it)..at this point I have given up and will use it wifi only.

First don't worry.
It is international note2 version as download mode says it's GT-N7100.
Download latest firmware of your country for your phone. Download whole ROM, not only kernel/recovery or modem. Download full ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696 thread.
Follow the steps proper from that thread.
If still having problem, post your odin log. Also mention OS of your PC.

[Q] Can't update from 4.1.2 to 4.3, reboots into recovery?

Hey guys!
I've been looking around for a solution to this one for a while but no luck, so maybe you guys can help me out here..
I'm on 4.1.2 and trying to OTA to 4.3, but when the phone goes to reboot for the update I get:
E:failed to mount /data(no such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /data/fota/ipth-muc.prop
etc (cant mount cache, efs)
#MANUAL MODE#
-- Appling Multi-CSC...
E:failed to mount /system (No such file or directory)
can't mount '/system (No such file or directory)
etc etc
(cant mount/open /cache/recovery/log or /last_install)
Then 3e recovery launches and I can reboot system and go back to my working 4.1.2 with no other problems seemingly. I was thinking maybe I could use ODIN to flash a fresh stock 4.1.2 and retry OTA for 4.3? I have a feeling maybe a failed custom ROM install a while back is what messed me up but I figured someone else might have some ideas.
Thanks!
You do know if you take the ota you may be locked forever or at least a very long time. I don't believe there is a root procedure for it yet so why take that chance. Just flash a stock rooted Rom that is Knox free and use the correct modem.

What is the error message? And are you sure you are flashing NH7?
KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit: kernel

There is nothing to worry about that message.. If Odin said auth failed you probably flashed an older firmware, check to make sure you are flashing NH7 and give it another try.. You can also just flash a ROM

How do I get back to 6.0 after returning to stock (4.4.2)?

Two days ago I was running OctOS-M with (almost) no problems. I decided to return to stock so I could network unlock my phone, which I did. Then I did the OTA updates from NE4, to NJ1 and now I have NJ2. But whenever I try to flash CM13 or go back to OctOS it gives me a status 7 error in TWRP. Am I skipping something here? Phone is rooted (with cf auto root through odin).
Status 7 error can be caused by an unsupported version of TWRP. Try different versions of TWRP.

Downgrading TWRP didn't help, but formatting /data with ext4 resolved the issue.
It was a 7 error but it also said something about incompatible data. Found someone suggesting to format with ext4 in another thread, tried it and it worked.

Rooted N7105 with N7100 tool. Now unable to flash

Hi,
I had to flash a couple N7100's , and that was quickly done with DrKetan Multitool adv V6
(got that software after reading this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531965).
After 2 phone's done and 3 days later I had to do a N7105. Did it also with this tool and that brought me in trouble.
Because this software is for the N7100 and not for the N7105.
When I try to flash a N7105 ROM it say's that that rom will not be able to install, because it is not N7100 software.
It is not rebooting into the actual ROM anymore. Stuck on the Samsung N7105 logo.
So I think I have swiched a setting that a part of the phone thinks it is a N7100 and there fore not running N7105 software anymore.
How can I undo that?
I have played with to many phones so I do not have backup anymore...
Just found out that there is a DrKetan Multitool for the N7105 too (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446618)
Downloaded it an I did the same as what I did with the N7100 tool (rooting it and maybe installing the Busybox).
After getting the same error I installed a new kernell.
But I still get the same error when flashing the ROM what says it is a 3g device (the N7100):
-- Installing: /external_sd/ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.4-20160921-t0lte.zip

Anyone with a solution?
Many thanks in advance from Holland.

no one? @dr.ketan ?
Try starting over by flashing a stock rom using Odin, flash twrp, then a custom rom?
Rooting isn't required to flash a custom rom, only a custom recovery.

This did it.
Thanks.
(and after that, I learned that Philz is no longer alife. After 2 day's trouble I installed TWRP and now running the right ROM)
Thanks for support!
Glad you got it sorted out.
