Moto 360 vs Pebble Steel vs Rado vs Emporio Armani!

Just got the Moto 360 and love it. Android Wear is clunky at first but once you get used to it, navigating through the interface will be pretty simple. Also like the fact that all the basic watch functions including heart rate monitor, pedometer, and stop watch all work without being paired with an Android phone.
Watch looks good enough to stand on it's own and definitely looks like a $300+ watch! Here's a comparison with the other watches that I have.

400 mAh battery doesn't look very impressive to me. Screen is still LCD and not OLED so overall battery life could be at most 30-40% better, in my opinion.
To me, the first Moto 360 look like the successor of the new one design-wise, not the other way around. The original design is pure and futuristic.
Price also is increased by $100 (for the 46mm watch) which I find kind of greedy from Motorola.
I predict that the new Moto 360 won't have the success of the first edition, but it remains to be seen.

Personally not a big enough upgrade for me to shell out more money. Bought mine on sale for $149 and ordered a black metal band for $12 and it is working great. After the initial set-up I have never had a problem making it though a day with battery life.

I agree, mine lasts a very full day into night, not enough an upgrade to switch. A safer / less likely to crack back is a little tempting.. But I might try one of those Steel Connect products...

I was really, really hoping that they would move to OLED. It really boggles me as to why they stayed with LCD, considering OLED can offer much better power-savings, and ambient mode is pretty much pointless on an LCD screen.
I would have definitely upgraded had they switched to OLED for the 2015 Moto 360, but so far, pretty disappointed with the announcement. I was half-hoping that they would implement some NFC-capabilities, but they didn't do that, either.

Wow I have to agree with all of you. LCD screen will eat the battery, and they kept the flat tire. I was excited for the final specs but now realize I will not be upgrading from my $149 first gen 360, not much changed.
I have an LG G watch R and wore it all day today with heavy usage with ambient mode on plus disabled minimal ambient screen mode so the screen looks active the entire day. As I write this 14 hours later, I still have 63% battery left. I think the Moto 360 is much more stylish, but it is a stylish black screen most of the day. I guess I will be looking at Samsung & other new watches.

I have had an LG G Watch R for about a year and just got a 1st generation Moto 360 for formal affairs. I am glad the 360 does not have an OLED screen. I don't use the Moto 360 as my daily driver, but as a short term watch for formal gatherings. I don't need it to have great battery life, but I do need to avoid the burn in issues I've seen some LG G Watch R owners experience. I want to be able to use lighter watch faces with no fear of burn in.
I am very glad I got the 1st generation 360, before the 2nd generation came out. The latest 360 has a bigger battery, and looks nice, although I do prefer the look of the 1st generation model. With all that the 2nd generation 360 brings, it is simply not worth it's much higher price tag. Android Wear devices, used to cost much less than a phone. Now, Android Wear prices are on par with the phones they're supposed to pair with and depend on for information. They don't even have independent call and talk capability, but are priced like phones...
I did a comparison today in Moto Maker and the 2nd generation 360 would cost more than double for the same design as I purchased just last week for a 1st generation 360. That's pretty wild to me, since the 2nd generation 360 is not "that much" better.
To me, Moto and others that have just released 2015 Android Wear devices. Are in some delusional space, thinking they will get sales at their present asking prices.

I agree with this, they saw the Apple Watch pricing and they thought to match it. The fate will be the same as with Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6: Samsung did a price drop after a few short months.

Yeah this new one just ain't worth the upgrade... I really thought they would work out a way of getting rid of the flat tire.. The price is a joke.

I agree with the OLED. My assumption is that they could not outsource an OLED display of their required size and shape (1.56" with flat-tyre at the bottom, minimal bezel and all the electronics in the flat-tyre area) in a cost-effective manner. Samsung and LG use much smaller 1.2" displays with large to huge bezels. Huawei is a bit of a surprise though.
But with a 400mAh battery, updated processor and maybe LCD backlight improvements I think we are in for a surprise regarding battery life with the always-on display. Or at least I hope so.
In the mean time, I really like the Samsung Gear S2 so I may just get that as an upgrade if it has really good battery life.

Moto 360 v2 - 42mm vs 46mm size

Hello,
I'm trying to decide between which v2 to get between the 42mm and the 46mm men's versions. I've printed the cutouts and the 46mm does appear quite large, particularly when I try and imagine adding thickness on top of that. That has me leaning towards the 42mm. I've got a 7" flat-top wrist.
I have not been able to gauge the 46mm size in person as none of the Bestbuy's in my area ever have the v1 on display.
For those who have v1, I'm wondering what the consensus is with respect to the size, especially over time. Did people find the v1 too big relative to their wrist size? If you could do it again, would you get the 42mm instead? Curious to know your opinion, relative to your wrist size also.

I have the large one now and I don't find it to large however I did order the smaller one, for what I use it for I don't need the larger size so I went smaller.

In the world of mechanical watches, this is the kind of size associated with actual diving watches (not just mere swimming). And there's a reason for that: 42mm already is big (ie too big for a dress watch: it's already in the sports watch domain).
It's not a matter of whether your wrist is big or not. It's a matter of bling (that bling may be fashionable is another matter). Or for watches this big, traditionally a matter of being designed to be worn over a thick diving suit, and still be readable with a diving mask and poor lighting.

Battery is 33% bigger, but screen is 32% bigger as well (assumed pixels are squares, and took account of the flat tyre)... There's also the SOC power usage (don't see why it would differ on both models), so the 46mm will surely get a bit better mileage, but far from one third, I guess.
For what those are worth, ambient mode battery lives for both models are quoted as being the same. Useless as sheer numbers, but I guess they're at least comparable to one another.
The interesting point would be the battery life gained with the much better (though still not particularly fit for the job) SOC, compared to previous generation.

What are you talking about ?? Moto 360 V1 has a diameter of 46mm and looks perfect at my wrist, and looks perfectly fine even at my GF's wrist, and also at every reviewer's wrist...didn't read about size complaints.

I'm telling about the sentiment among people having been interested in watches long, long before smartwatches:
- dress watches : <=39mm
- sports watches: <=42mm
- big ass watches (divers, jet pilots, clowns, 80's rappers, former hollywood star and bodybuilder governors): anything bigger
People may wear what they want for all I care. But 42mm is not a small watch. And 46mm is a huge watch (and that's going to be amplified by lugs, granted).

I have big wrists so the 46 is fine for me. I don't like the thought of going to a smaller screen. The only thing I don't like about the v1 is the lack of lugs and overall bland bezel and case which are fixed on v2. The better SoC and battery are a huge perk. I need a nice looking watch due to being a tech business owner and this was the first step. It's still one of the best lookers out there till gen 2 hits. The options on moto maker for v2 are great. Just to compare, here is a side by side with my v1 and my fossil watch. It's an average sized fossil. Bezel and case are about the same size.

The 360 gen 2 has this thing called a "flat tyre look" where the bottom of the screen is cut off.. I don't like that at all. The Huawai looks better and I think closer to a proper watch.
My main driver for buying the Huawai is that it looks smart when I wear business clothes. The 360 is close and would also do the job but the cut off bit of the screen looks odd and annoying.

The 360 in ambient mode looks very pixilated, where the HW looks crystal clear and defined. Plus with the sapphire scratch resistant face you'll never scratch it. I've got 10 year old TAG's with spotless sapphire faces. It's a truly awesome mineral second hardest to diamonds.
The watch is frigging awesome.

Sorry to write on an old post, but since the release of the Connected I was wondering if you could get the official watch faces to the Huawei watch. Thanks!

Choose your watch as the Huawei and then scroll through a few of the pages. You will see around 3 to 4 pages in the Connected faces. My Huawei is charging but here is one on my LG R. First on is fully on and the second is dimmed. Very nice face on the LG but even better on the Huawei! Pm me if you cant them.

I didnt expect such question on XDA forum...
But without laughing from that question, I can say, that: ANY selfi-stick will work with ANY device, including P9.
Starting from cheap Chinese ones for 2Euro ending in Carbon-fiber Porsche branding stick(yes, you can get such thin, Porsche is well known from branding every possible gadget, even snow sled for kids...)
All those selfi stick use minijack connector for camera trigger button, rest is cheap telescopic pipe with phone handle... its not space technology...

It is a little bit of science here.I have a low cost selfie stick but it doesent release the sutter on my huawei p9 and my girlfriends p9 lite,or the iphone 6 thru the jack.

Then you bought the wrong one. Should've tested it.
