never got any lag except youtube but thats probably cause of their app issue since youtube lags in almost of my phones now..
games running smooth for me.. btw 4gb ram version P.S.
I was JUST about to create a post about this lag. Something is definitely not right to have lag delays for so long. I was going to say it's probably the ram in our 3gb model but I have two work phones running on 2gb ram and never got lag this bad.
When it just freezes with lag, I check the ram and there is still 1.5gb free so it's not a ram issue, must be a software issue. A few times a day it'll take an app a full 60-90 seconds to launch and everything will be at a snails pace for the next 5 minutes

Agreed, if I don't see any suggestions in one of the forums I may try the factory reset trick to see if that helps. Hopefully it's not a defective processor...

BND - L24 running B130 software.. Non-Rooted... ZERO issues no matter what I throw at it..
Few people reporting issues of lag from other regions.. Looks like an update will solve it soon..
No lag here...
Destroys everything I throw at it. No lag at all, sometimes apps freezes, but that's bc the app is badly developed and programmed, phone is awesome
I see some lag from time to time, most notably on the camera app (I have a BND-L24). I suspect it may be related to the SD card and/or the amount of pictures I have on there. I have an off-brand 64GB card in there now but I have a Samsung Class 10 U3 on order that should be here Friday, so I will put that in and see if it helps.

Nova 3 is a pretty intensive game, and it runs flawlessly
US version with 3bg RAM.
Mine will lag occasionally, especially if I've recently used facebook and chrome. After that if I try to use the keyboard for anything it freezes quite often, and won't get better unless I wait a minute or kill apps.
I found that limited background processes in developer options gets rid of most of the lag, but doesn't help the camera much. The camera software just seems to be way too much for this phone to handle... not to mention the camera UI is laughably bad.

Yeah, the tilting works on other games,i think it's a bug, hoping that the guys at gameloft will repair this, maybe get out a patch soon.In the meanwhille,i've allready finished 6 championships and the game is great, the graphics are good, the thing that bugs me about the game are the "post score" or different commercials that are always shown, but overall it's a great game .

The framerate makes it unplayable for me at stock, it's just too much of a distraction.
I'm waiting on a gameloft update. (sigh)
However, with faux and game booster app it plays pretty good with a decent framerate , but still annoys me that it's still not the framerate it should be & not what iOS users get.
Stock users - I'd say not to bother yet, as the framerate is choppy hell.

Sorry, (in the nicest way possible) .... you must be blind if you think the framerate is ok .
Go have a look at the trailer on the play store, that's how it's supposed to run.
Everyone I've spoken to has mentioned the very poor framerate, even android police the other day mentioned it to be 'definitely choppy' in the pre-review.
It's not Tegra 3 compatible, not really.
It runs at terrible framerates on both my Nexus 7 & HOX.
It may work, but we have to wait on Gameloft for the fix.
This game doesn't even run completely smooth at all on base 2.05, faux kernel and game booster app - stock 1.29 has no chance.
......
Unless your using a U.S snapdragon S4 version, not sure how it runs on that HOX.

Probably man,i don't realy know what to say,i will compare it tomorow with my Ipad to see how it runs, but for me it's ok,i mean,i've noticed that all consumers lately want everything to be perfect, not realising that we are running on our phones games that are larger than NFS:Underground or NFS:Underground 2 which we played a few years back on the PC or PS and we were totaly satisfied about them, even if they weren't perfect.Probably that it isn't optimized for the Tegra 3,lately Gameloft didn't perfect theyr games and haven't worked as much as they did in the past on the games. But,in theyr defence,we did pay 1$ for it,i mean, lets be serious,we can't expect great things for a buck man.

Lol, that may be true for NFS, but the size of gameloft games are wayyyyy too big in size.
To think Torchlight is under 600mb for the PC, makes you wonder how a racing game for a phone could be 1.3gb. - ouch.
i don't think the price of an app is an excuse for poor coding - the game shouldn't have been released yet, not in its current state.
I've heard the SGS3 also has framerate issues with this game (just not and severe as most of GL games for Tegra3 devices) and that's operating on a year old GPU, so it shouldn't have optimisation issues - but even here, it does.
But, HOPEFULLY - they will release a fix soon, and not wait a month like they did for batman on Tegra 3.
Sadly, gameloft ain't like madfinger who will respond to you quickly and issue a fix quickly if it's their problem.

Yeah, unfortunaly i've sent an email to them regarding the accelerometer problems, sayd they will investigate the problem, but so far,nothing...i am not an expert programmer,i understand some codes, but i mean, how hard can an accelerometer problem be to solve it?
Luckly that i've got used with the touchscreen "virtual buttons",otherwise i wouldn't played this game.
As for the size of them,i maybe saying something stupid....but...aren't the guys at gameloft using Unity to make the graphics like the guys who made Dead Trigger?I tried like 1 or 2 years ago Unity and the graphics made with that program always use to much space.
Reached championship 9 so far .
Yeah, I think android police agreed with most of us.
Hopefully, gameloft will take note with some bad publicity & make a quick fix.
It definitely seems to be affecting all android devices.
Gameloft should definitely come with a disclaimer warning that it is optimized for iOS only.

Graphics And Performance
Even with the above foibles, Asphalt 7 could be a good game. The deal breaker for me is the overwhelming mediocrity of the graphics. Judging from the screenshots on the Play Store page, this should be a gorgeous game. Instead, it's just average. Even then, only on some devices. On the Nexus 7 the texture resolution is absolutely terrible. Everything in the environment looks muddy. The cars aren't bad, but there is noticeable aliasing along the edges.
I also looked at things on the Galaxy Nexus, and the textures were a little better. I was still not impressed with the overall fuzziness of the roads and buildings, though. The jaggies are not as prevalent here, possibly because the screen is smaller, and I can't see them as well. For whatever reason, performance is questionable on both devices. Both will get a spot of lag from time to time, and the Nexus 7 seems to have a lower frame rate The brightness also looks too high, making the game oddly washed-out. There are a few places that I could barely see where I was going because the gentle blue track markers blended in too well with the background. Turning my device's brightness down did nothing to fix this. I could also see distant objects drawing as I rocketed along. That should not happen on any modern device.
For 1.4GB of game data, I expected stunning graphics. I really feel like some of the smaller Need For Speed games look better than this. Asphalt 7 is not ugly, but it's just not pretty like the screenshots would lead you to believe.
Conclusion
On the surface, Asphalt 7 is a fine game. The controls are solid, and there are plenty of tracks and race types. I can even deal with the in-app purchases because they don't seem exploitative. This is essentially a $7 game that you can have for $0.99, so dropping a few dollars on better cars seems alright. The learning curve is steep, but not to a fault However, the requirement that you have internet access is beyond ridiculous. Things fall apart for me when it comes to visuals and performance. I'm just disappointed in how this game runs on the Nexus 7, and it's not terribly good on the Galaxy Nexus. Lag, low frame rates, and blurry graphics are not what I expect out of 1.4GB of game data. If this game was free, I'd definitely suggest you pick it up to try. As it stands, you could spend $0.99 if you like Asphalt racing games, but there's just nothing that special here.

Lol oh boy....listen its not our north american s3 the s4 chip in our phone is a beast some games still have to be optimized example; temple run....temple run is laggy RIGHT NOW on our phones srill has to be optimized hell it plays better on my g2x. But the s3 is the fastest phone i ever had in terms of processor speed and fluidity. Temple run plays great even on some single core phones. Why because its been optimized. Just give it time im sure there will be updates the s4 chip is a beast. Heres another example temple run plays pretty damn good on the s2 with the qualcomm s3 chip and plays like **** on ours and our chip is way better. Reason being the game was optimized....

Yes, I am experiencing the same issue wwith extreme lag. Can anyone help out with this issue? It runs like a charm for the beginning of the level and then slows down until it goes at 1 frame per 3 seconds, rendering it unplayable until you exit the app and the same thing happens. Has anyone found a solution? It is a perfect port in all other respects and a superb game perfect for a smartphones portability.

Need for Speed works flawless on mine. Have not tried others.
I can get Nova Multiplayer to work fine, but not the single player. Quite annoying.
I can't get Heroes or Order and chaos or Wild Blood to work correctly. Wild Blood lacks lots of graphics and Heroes crashes on the tutorial without explanation. Anyone have some thoughts?
TomTom doesn't work, but that isn't a game. Some drawing apps don't work yet either (all from the Hello ColorPencil variety), but I'm sure they will be fixed and aren't games.
The Simpsons tapped out has so much lag that I can't play it with this tablet, yet there is no problem when I play the same game on the first note 10.1, I wish I knew what the issue is, maybe it's the 4.3 problem ?.??..

What version of the note are you using? Wifi or lte edition ( exynos or snapdragon)
Could everyone write up what version of the note you're having issues with, that way we might be able to find a patern. I.e what SoC is more stable, reliable.
Basing on similar Note 3 the Snapdragon 800 version has better app compatibility along with better performance.

It's faster, a tad more stable ( as far as I've been able to gather ) and seems to have broader support within games/ apps / development.

Sorry I meant the P600 which has the Exynos. I don't really see any benefit to having it. Sure it has "8" cores, but if it can't run things properly, why bother?
You guys are on drugs if you think the hardware isn't capable of running these games.
Just wait for the developers to update it won't be the end of the world.

I think it's more than capable. I'm worried about actual development more than anything. I think we'll see fewer roms/kernels, and less support for apps/games.
Yeah, we probably won't see roms or kernels thats true, i'm fine with that part as it defeats the purpose of this device.
As far as support from games it will be okay since these devices are selling fairly well (Note 10.1 & morso Note 3).

Sorry to dredge up an old thread but I just got the 2014 edition yesterday and I'm finding this game almost unbearable. But here's the weird part, previously I had the original Note 10.1 and it played fine, just like you say. When I got the new one I wiped the old one to give it to my wife. Now the old one lags terribly too.
This is really frustrating, but at the same time gives me some hope. It ran fine on the old one until I did the factory reset. So that tells me there might be a setting somewhere that can fix this issue.
Of course, this thread is so old you guys might have already solved the issue. If so, please post how you fixed it.

Still an issue. I've tried a number of things - factory reset, CleamROM, standing on my head, starting a new game, etc. Can't get decent performance out of my favourite game! This sucks!
Maybe I should try to open a support ticket with Samsung - wonder if they'd even respond.
I had bought Rayman Fiesta Run on my old LG Optimus G and wanted to play it once again on my new LG G3. Unfortunately, the Google Play store says that Rayman Fiesta Run is not compatible with the LG G3 (actually, a lot of apps & games are not compatible, super weird). Anyways, I side-loaded Rayman from my account and started to play the game. It looks 100 times better on the LG G3 because of the screen size but the game kind of slows down and is not fast. The game is suppose to be a fast game but I see that the game slows down a lot through out the levels. Has anybody else encountered this?
It is playable but its weird because my old phone doesnt slow down at all. Is there anyway to make the game go smoother, like adjusting the phone's cores or something like that? Just to make the gameplay smoother

I really wanted to try out the Rayman series on the G3 because what you described was happening on the LG G Tab I ultimately returned for other reasons as well.
Guess I will wait for replies but that is disappointing to read.
Is this the only game you notice that this happens? Every other one I have tried has run great.

Yes, because Rayman Jungle Run doesn't slow down at all, it plays really good. Rayman Fiesta Run does slow down throughout the whole level, at the beginning is fine but it will slowly lag a little

I paid for it any cannot play it now. How does one get around that with the G3? You stated you sideloaded from your account but I do not know how to do that unfortunately.
Well been acting strange on my first 2 devices haven't tried on my third device. I give up I think. I've owned this for around a month now and car phone warehouse said I can return for refund so that's what I'll do as I am a gamer and although the phone is amazing some experiences arent :/

I have sent Ubisoft an email requesting they update their listing play store listing (it is likely all they need to do is tick a new box to support the resolution of the G3).
Perhaps you should do the same, [email protected]
Would it be possible anyone could test Marvel Avengers Alliance, real racing and dead trigger 3?
They work perfect on my at&t Optimus g.

I followed that guide, and when the apk downloaded into my computer, I then sideloaded the apk to my LG G3

wow temple run lags?? that's a very non-intesive games.. it runs smoothly on my htc desire (1st gen..very old and hp touchpad cm11 (not even an android device originally))
i recently bought Asus zenfone 2 ze551ml 4gb variant but i was very disappointing with its performance. i got the phone and it showed me system update 2.19.40 so i updated it and then installed a few games like asphalt 8, nova, mc5, etc. which i though this device would be able to handle pretty well. but to my surprise the these games didn't performed smooth...there weren't any lags but stutters in almost all the games. now i had seen many videos of gaming performance before buying this phone and everywhere it performed up to the mark. now i heard some where that the latest update is causing this. is this true?
is there a solution to this problem?

The version you are referring to is not the latest update... Asus provided some graphic optimization in some update (i cant recall which update it was) So update your phone to the latest firmware (2.19.40.22) and then check... I am on latest firmware and i have mc4, mc5, nova and they all play fine...smooth no lags no stutters or glitches

thank you for the reply sir. yes, i checked, i am on the same firmware as you. the main issue is with asphalt 8. nova and mc5 are still ok, even riptide gp 2 has the same unsmooth game play...there is no lag but it looks like there are heavy frame drops. can you check it with asphalt 8. i am getting an fps of 28 (checked it with gamebench).
Yes, I played mc5 and asphalt 8 and also experienced micro stutter on the 551ml with the newest firmware. Gameplays looked alot smoother on youtube videos.
I tried moving the games to internal memory, but same problem.
Asphalt 8 running as smooth as it can here..

Maybe I got accustomed to 60 fps
But really, can this be a hardware problem?
Exactly, even i am worried if its an hardware issue. Though i got a score of 47k on antutu so i doubt it is. Games like overkill 3 laG like hell. I am worried. Should i get my lhone replaced or what? Can anyone test on gamebench for fps of asphalt 8 who has it running smooth plz. Thank you.

I just downloaded reptide gp 2 and it's running smooth for now. I'll test the fps using gamebench in a bit.
Can't get gamebench to work. Sorry. :/
No problem. Thanks a lot for the reply though. Do let me know if it works.
Mail me at [email protected].
You may have seen this forum already, but nevertheless..http://www.asus.com/zentalk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=8531..
I got the zf2 about a week ago, so I'm unable to compare it to the performance before the latest updates.

Thanks for the reply, but those are steps I took before playing each game, and i always clear my cache after each firmware update. So I do not believe any of those steps offered a viable solution.
Edit-- These are the results of Asphalt 8. Phone was off charger, and in performance mode. Cache was also cleared in recovery. Also, in the xda review of the zf2, he said he got 45 fps.

Thanks manman but I got it to work, I had multiple devices connected to adb.
Reptide gp 2 has huge fps drops.(20-30 fps).
I tried overkill 3, it was unplayable.
Can someone please check the fps on their device ? It would really help.
I do not believe it is a hardware problem, because i'm getting a decent score on antutu.

I couldn't check the fps on those games but rp2 had stutters whereas overkill 3 was unplayable. Dissapointed with this phone.
