Is there something special I need to do to Screen Cast with my Samsung TV? My Note 4 and Droid Turbo would connect no problem. My Pixel XL can't even find my TV...

I've been having issues too trying to connect with my laptop. I think you might need Miracast, which Pixel/XL does not have. You need to root and add a line of code from what I read to Enable Wireless Display.
Great. At least I have until 04 November to return it, if it hasn't been rooted by then.

Is it possible? I found one app cast receiver that works but you can't purchase it in fire tv and it only works for 5 minutes as trial. Can't seem to find any other apps. Anyone had any luck with this? TIA

I'm sick to death of trying to figure out why Google thinks I'm in Germany when I try to use the Google search engine on any of the browsers, Chrome, Firefox or Edge!
I have A Pixel XL running stock Android 8.1 but for some reason it keeps searching using Google. de website!
I'm in the UK by the way...

Hmm ok. And what exactly is it doing extra, that the current app doesn't?

60fps video codec support.
That, and the app is very lightweight (being only 13MB in size), and doesn't require a browser to be installed.

Also Alexa support (I also heard Google home support but that can't be right)
I want the apk too.
Wont wait months for my FireTV (sloane).
Any word on this?
+1 Surely someone has backed up the APK and can share it. I'd hate to have to wait months for alexa search.
Youtube v1.110.0 (Google) extracted from Fire TV Stick 4K.
Once sideloaded, you may need to restart your device in order to see it on the main menu.
Works perfectly on both my Fire TV 1 & 2 boxes
Is this the only version released? I tested youtube on the day when it was released and it was playing my purchased movies in 5.1. Today it is only stereo. Wondering if they released update that changed this and wanted to try the original relaes from the day.
Do you have it by any chance?

How did you extract it?
I tried last night with adb to extract from my gen2 stick so I can sideload to my gen2 box.
Couldn't get it to extract.
Would like to learn how to do it since I have access to it (after every update). Thank you

Or just install TotalCommander from the amazon store, and copy the apk from "Installed aplications" folder to an USB Drive

For anyone needing a easier method to backup or install, you can install apps2fire from playstore on phone and fully automate sideloading and installing.
