LG G6 Qi enabling case for EU Version - LG G6 Accessories

Hey Guys,
I'd really like to buy me the LG G6, but buying a feature cutted Phone kinda su**...
I probably wont miss the quad dac, but I'm really into Qi charging.
I read about these pads, but I don't like blocking my usb Port all the time, so I looked for a case, which might get me this, but haven't found one.
Is there anything like this to buy?
Thanks and greetings

Since the version without wireless charging has no option to get current into the device beside the USB port,
the port will always be blocked by any solution for wireless charging.

Just buy the G6 with this option, its better (design and performances) and cheaper (price is better)
Sent from my LG G6 using XDA Labs

Thanks for your replies, I know it's gonna block the usb Port, but I hope there would be a better solution than these pads...
I found this case for iPhone by Nillkin with which I would be absolutly fine, but there's probably nothing compareable for the LG:
amazon.de/dp/B06X194B87/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_2YZrAbY15P00F
I would really like to buy the Plus US Version, especially the Amazon Prime Version for 499, but as I live in Germany, things are a little bit complicated (and expansive)
I probably just gonna wait for the G7 and hope, they wont tread customers that different again...

I bought LG G6 H870 too.
I would like to use the QI but i don't know. There is an accessories which can enable the charging ?
Thanks.

here an accessory but i don't know if it's reliable!
USB Type C of charging receiver
let me know if someone know something

I had one wireless patch connected to the USB-C but I returned it to Amazon for the following reasons:
- Even if it is defined as "slim", it is not really slim and distorts the phone case and back of the phone becomes curved...
- The charging power is very sensitive to how to place the phone on the wireless charger. The maximum that I got was 15% per hours. My S7 is charging 30% per hours in the same config in more or less in all positions
- The USB-C is busy and you can't charge it easily in your car or at office without removing the patch.
--> It is waste of money.
The best should be to integrate the US G6 plate in the phone but several people already reported that it doesn't work on the DS version (missing connector pins on the mainboard).

[How-To] Moto G wireless charging (Universal Qi Receiver)

I've received my universal Qi wireless receiver today. The receiver is smaller than I had thought and fits perfectly into the Moto G. Since our phone lacks internal preparation for Qi (like it can be found on the Samsung Note 2), the connection is made via a micro USB plug. The backdoor can still be clipped on without being disturbed by the Qi receiver pad or its flat band cable. Charging time should be about the about the same as charging the phone from a PC USB port that doesn't output more than 500mA.
This solution is obviously for those who don't need the phones usb port on a daily basis.
The adapter on the left picture (and in the video) is from ebay and is the one that arrived here first. I’ve changed the cable routing to remove the ugly bulge that was visible on my first picture. This adapter outputs a maximum of 500mA and can be purchased from ebay.
Make sure to purchase the "interface layout A, narrow interface up” variant.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/261348107126
17.Jan.2014 - The picture on the right shows an adapter purchased from DealExtreme, that arrived here yesterday. This adapter delivers up to 650mA and the flat band cable comes out of the lower side instead out of the backside which removes the need to bent over the cable.
http://dx.com/p/zy-408-wireless-charging-receiver-for-mobile-phone-micro-usb-black-259151
Both adapters work well, so don't worry if you've already bought the one I've first reviewed. (I have both version in use on different phones)
Here is a small video that shows me placing the receiver inside the Moto G:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2WPjw-WaCI
Update 13.02.2014
From my testing I can tell the following:
1. An unrooted Moto G needs to be screen locked (I use the pattern lock type) or it will refuse to charge due to the missing pins. You can unlock the screen while it is charging as long as you don't lift it from the qi charger. (tested on 4.3 and 4.4.2, DE and FR firmware)
2. Root in combination with dubidu's tool makes it more straightforward but is not required.

Nice. Can you tell us where you got it from -- is it just one manufacturer making these?
Cheers.

Thanks. I had looked on fleaBay and it looks like they all have the same packaging. I imagine any qi wireless charger thingy should work. In theory.
anyone know if this would work through an otterbox case? or I guess if this would even work with one due to the fact the part that plugs in sticks out a little bit...
I've bought it here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/261348107126
The auction uses the same pictures as used in the amazon offer posted by JCBomb, might even be the same seller.
This is cool! I just hope there's like another way we can integrate that wireless charger.
Just saw your post at android.hilfe and started looking for some charger, it's indeed a neat solution.

Are u guys using this wireless QI receiver? I'm going to buy one next month, D: . Just for curiosity, how much time do u guys spend to get a full charge with the QI
Guys i found this one at dx.com
http://dx.com/pt/p/micro-usb-qi-wireless-charging-back-clip-black-253066
Those kind of product are not so great are chaging, basically it's almost the same power that if you charge through uSB = 500mA.
What you need to check is the charging value, sometime it's :
- 400mA or less (avoid it, will take ages to charge),
- 500mA (just like your regular USB charger),
- 1000mA (great ones, will charge just like a wall charger, twice as fast as the previous model).
So the one at DX is great, but they're cheaper on ebay, plus you can choose between Black or White - http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...eName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
This one was the cheapest (around £15) I could find and works fine.

wow, so cool :good:
Am I the only one thinking about finding the plug they use with all the pins intact and integrating a micro sd card into it for OTG storage? Wireless charging and storage, all in one, and fitting under a case.
I had that exact thought about two hours ago. Throw NFC in their while your at it.
Sent from my XT1034 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I had actually started to do some verrrry preliminary research into something like it using a ribbon cable and another usb port, so you could plug the phone into a wall charger and have the usb/sd card piggybacked off the cable. Hadn't gotten very far though...job, kid, wife etc.......
Someone TAKE MY MONEY for it!! Especially since it seems we're all soon to be headed down the 'no sd card' path.
I just got a Moto G for my wife and Nokia Wireless Charging Plate DT900 is not working any ideas why ?

Hello.
The Moto G doesn't support Qi on its own, you'll need to rig it with an universal wireless Qi charging receiver.
You can buy them from ebay, dealextreme and some other china based stores. The first post contains a short installation video.
This one from dealextreme will work (Output up to 650mA):

I got the Choi wireless charger after reading a lot of positive reviews on it, but I'd go for a different brand. I've found that it tends to heat the phone up significantly if I leave it on the charging pad overnight, and it's got a small 'target' for correct phone placement compared to this other one I bought:
http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E9MUNWU/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
(Note: that's the U.S. Amazon site.)
This one's got a bigger 'target' area, I haven't noticed much excessive heat (maybe only once that I can recall) but I've only got it at my office vs. using it overnight at home. Overall, it works great for me and I like it better than the Choi, for what it's worth.
I got a LG WCP-300 and a Docooler QI mat....ill post up the pics later but both work just fine...
IMO, I have the Nokia DT100 and the Official Google Nexus Charger and sadly for a quick fast charge.. I like the Nokia one. There is a light status for charging and it's just easier, set it down, it works. Google one gotta line up with the magnets.. BUT your choice on what you pick
I have 2 of your first link. Neither heat my phone up significantly and I have my phone in a case with daydream running. Placement is also not an issue. If you center it and place it the notification sound goes off and it's charging. Great price and it works very well.

I've got two noname QI chargers, which worked with a Nexus 4, Galaxy S4 and Nexus 5, but don't seemt to work with the LG G3. Really annoying. It starts charging for 3 seconds, then stops and starts again. Also the G3 is really picky on how you place it on the charger. If its off by half a centimeter it complains and tells you to center it correctly.
The best one I've used, and the one my phone is on right now, is the Tylt Vu.

As far as I can tell, there is no way* to place it on the stand and not have wireless charging working properly.
* within reason

$70 or $100 on Amazon.... both a bit more than I'd like to pay.
I bought an "Expower(R) QI" of Amazon, arrived yesterday, sent back today. Same problems as other people mentioned above.
I also bought an "DiGiYes® 360 Qi" car charger, this works great, no problems with positioning at all. It does say on the box that it's an uprated 3 coil version, so I'm wondering if that's what you need to get to work with the G3, and that single coil Qi charges will be a waste of time.
I have this 3 Coil wireless charging pad bought from ebay and I can't charge the G3. I get the start charging loop. It's working well with Nexus 7 and my former Note 3. I really wonder if LG WCP-300 can charge the G3.
http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phone-accessories/lg-WCP-300-wireless-charging-pad
I have the LG WCP-300. Encountered disconnects and constant notification to "place phone in charging zone" messages.
I've tried the official samsung Galaxy s4 one and it doesn't work.
Got this two days ago, works fine.

One thing though if you want your phone to charge when vertically tilted, you will need to raise the base by about 20 mm
I don't want to make a new thread, but can anyone recommend a good wireless charging pad that can charge the g3 and eventually moto360 simultaneously?
Aren't they all the same like an universal chargers?
Or some models have more ampere and charge faster?

Impossible to know.
I got the following:
http://list.qoo10.sg/item/QI-WIRELESS-CHARGING-PAD-RECEIVER/413308734
the A6 model which I believe is a copy of the Tylt Vu and it works flawlessly. It charges the phone vertically or horizontally even with my Spigen Slim Armour case on. Never had issues with phone placement as well since the design of the charger ensures you get it right.
http://www.ravpower.com/ravpower-qi...mah-capacity-power-bank-white-us-version.html
Got this, nice with an integrated battery , is large but less then G3, I ordered in amazon the base model without battery but they sent me this one, then good price!
Charging is slower then original cabled ( output 1 A )
I have the Nokia DT 910 and the LG WCP-300 charging pad. The LG pad charges the device but triggers this weird "place device in center" message (see other threads). The Nokia DT 910 (and guess all Nokia chargers) don't trigger that message and charges the g3 nicely (but slowly, I believe it's 0.7 A)
Has anyone in the US tried this one? amazon |.| com/Aukey-Wireless-Charging-Qi-Enabled-Blackberry/dp/B00JW9S3KE/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405001468&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=Aukey%C2%AE+Swiveling+Wireless+Qi+Power+Charger+Pad (sorry, not enough posts to have links)
Also, amateur hour question here, but what else would I need to purchase for the wireless charging to work on my AT&T LG g3?

Who has tried wireless charging, and is it still working?

There are numerous threads on people's experience with wireless charging, mostly involving the stickers to use, meltdowns with heat, etc. I would like to compile people's experiences.
If you do have experience, please comment on:
1. Did you ever get it to work to your satisfaction? If not, what was not satisfactory about it?
2. How long did it last? Or how long have you had it working?
3. What qi charger do/did you use?
4. If it broke down, what happened and did you ever get it working again?
5. What model of G4 and/or carrier do you have?
Also, there's a quick poll associated in this thread.

This one, it was basically the cheapest one I could find June 2014. Once the phone is charged you can see the light cycle on and off just maintaining 100%. Works fine for a bunch of devices and I don't notice if it's slow as it has 8 hours to charge when I sleep.
CHOE UPGRADED Qi Wireless Charger Charging Pad https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DRBFMZM/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_WNViwbW7EJTDK
I purchased this plastic replacement back that came with a qi sticker. I used it mainly with this CHOE 3 coil charger, but also tried it on this Yootech one, and this one as well. On all three chargers, the phone got super hot while charging. So much so that at one point my phone even froze up and I had to pull the battery. It may have been the qi sticker that came with the back I bought, but I stopped wireless charging after about a week, because I just didn't like how hot it got.
I'm thinking of picking up another qi sticker, but just can't decide which one is the best.
I'm using the official LG qi charger and the quickcircle cover with qi built in. All working but i find plugging in faster so basically just end up using that instead..

I've found that exact placement on the charger can affect the charging temperature dramatically. I think if the sticker is a little ways off from the center of the qi charger (wherever that is, not sure how that is determined on the 3 coil), it heats up a lot more.

Yeah I tried my best to make sure it was right in the center, but it seems no matter where I placed it it would get hot. Plus what's the benefit of having a 3 coil charger if I have to place it in exactly the right spot? I think there is definitely something wrong with the qi sticker I'm using. If not, many others would be having similar issues. I'm using fairly widely used chargers.

I never felt comfortable using the Qi charging after hearing the noise my phone made when I set it on the charger. I have multiple brands of chargers and all produce the same noise from the phone's speakers (youtube link below). I've tried with cases and without cases on all my chargers.

Wireless charging was removed from dual sims because the circuitry for wireless charging is replaced by that of the second sim.

The T-Mobile store can put in for a warranty exchange, if you initially bought it with them. But then you get a refurb. It's $20. Alternatively, you could send it in for a factory warranty, but it'll be out for several weeks. And then after you get it back, the wireless charging will break down after a week or two. Ridiculous, right?
I think it's endemic with our H811 model. I wish this could be as big as Antennaegate, forcing LG to admit their poor design+engineering, but there aren't enough users to raise a stir.

I just had an online chat session with LG Support and since they only officially brand their Qi case for Verizon phones they are telling me that the T-Mobile model is not compatible with wireless charging and there's nothing they can do. I got this phone off CL so going to T-Mobile is going to be difficult. I purchased the LG G4 back on release day day but returned it so I was going to use that receipt with LG Support but it looks like that's a dead end.
Another question you should ask in this thread is which model people are using since this is a general G4 forum and not carrier specific. It does look like this happens with Verizon phones too though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g4/help/wireless-charging-stopped-t3226231
Thankfully the battery life is good enough on this phone where I can probably live without the wireless charging at work. To be honest It was more of a must have when I had the S6 since there was no way I could make it through the workday without leaving it on the charger.
Wow, really? The function that works (at least initially) because all the hardware is there, on T-Mob, is "not supported?" That sounds like LG support has their heads up their butts, just like the QA department on the wifi charging.
I'll add the question of what version G4 do you have on the questionnaire. Can't edit the poll anymore though I wish I could.
1. Locked up during the night, multiple times a week.
2. Randomly started working perfectly for 3 months. Replaced phone. Worked for about 1.5 months. Now stops charging and locks up during the night again.
3. Nokia puck + Samsung + several chinese ebay units
4. Absolutely no idea why it magically fixed itself and now magically broken.
5. Verizon G4
Yes, but not for more than a couple weeks at a time.
2. How long did it last? Or how long have you had it working?
About 2 weeks, sent in for RMA, came back not fixed, sent back, worked for a little over a week, stopped today.
3. What qi charger do/did you use?
LG Quick Circle case purchased from Verizon, 2 tylt vus, one samsung puck.
4. If it broke down, what happened and did you ever get it working again?
No idea what caused it to stop working -- today it stopped somewhere between work and home.
First time, mailing it in twice helped.
5. What model of G4 and/or carrier do you have?
Verizon
Also, there's a quick poll associated in this thread.
Using a Yootech sticker with a Yootech puck. Both work well. I originally had a sticker from the Fone company...the colorful one in blue and green, iirc. The wireless charging worked but the NFC was unusable with it. (not that I myself use nfc

Magnetic Type C Cable

Hi guys
I m searching for a Magnetic type c Cable that can support the quick charge 3.0. The EU version of the LG G6 not have the wireless charge so I would have a magnetic Cable to use a bamboo stand that I have bought.
I have see this cable:
https://m.banggood.com/Baseus-Magne...179304&utm_content=989&p=K41513885236201411XJ
I had see this cable from an Italian YouTuber that have test it with a special gadget.
He explains that this cable can support up to 4Ampere.
Someone can suggest me pls? If you use some cable tell me what do you use and if it s possible post the link
This is the YouTube video, it is in Italian but you can understand the functionality watching the video too.
Just one reminder, rumor has it that quick charge degrades battery life. So it would be better to buy a normal magnetic cable like this maybe and then buy a "fast" one, to use only when it's really needed. Just saying.
The one I linked you is definitely slow, using the quick charger that came with my G6 needs 1 hour to charge it from 60%.

the Quick charge is given by the transformer, that of the LG G6 should be 3.0. (although some say it is 2.0).the cable is only what transmits energy in the form of an electric current.having a cable that supports a high current causes your device to be protected moreover. A type c cable also carries a signal that tries to communicate to the transformer the quantity of voltage necessary for charging. if this does not work there is a risk that the device will explode. So first rule to have a reliable cable and that supports a high amperage.
About the quick charge instead, you have read old information about quick charge 1.0 on a device that not support it. Infact now smartphone that support quick charge have a chip that is made by qualcomm to support this technology. You can't use a quick charge charger to charge (sorry xD) a smartphone that not support it. If you do, you could damage your device.
Nowadays quick charge 3.0 is the best charging method that we have for devices that supports it. but the rule remains the same: a good cable for a good charger
PS: I'm studying electronic engineering
PS: sorry for my bad English! If you have questions ask me pls. I will try to repeat it
All these are correct,I do not use the official charger anyway, but there is still a debate however quick charge degrades battery life or not.
I recently found a USB C 18W-supported magnetic cable that is Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 compatible and at the same time is capable of fast data transmission. The brand is TOPK (you can check at thei website topk dot com). I own quite a few other accessories from them and I can say that they are reliable. Cables are nylon braided and plug heads are 3d aluminum so they are generally stretch and rust resistant.
The other one I saw was Lexuma XMAG.
They are the first of their class. (I am no way related to these brands, just my personal experience)
Lexuma XMAG. looks like a better quality

Yeah cause it's more expensive. Lol. I happen to have TOPK cables cause they currently have flagship stores in my location. They may be cheaper but the cables look premium. I use them oftentimes while playing ML with my Poco F1 so they are always prone to stretch sometimes greater than 90 degrees. Looks like nylon braiding does its job well.
Maybe, I will have a look at the TOPK, maybe yes the price makes it appear better.
The design thou is circular and not oblongated like type C plug. Im not sure if I liked it more but the good thing is it's not just reversible but also rotatable; in perfect fit whatever orientation...
