Hey guys, I recently found an SPH-P100 in a dumpster (score! :victory and I was quite disappointed to see that there's a terrible lack of development for these devices. As such, I've forked the newest device configuration available on github, and I'll be working to release a wider variety of ROMs and to complete hardware support as much as possible. Unfortunately, there is very little I can do to address the complete lack of 3G support, as I have no service whatsoever on my device.
Now, the ROM! This is a clean build of PAC-man 4.3 for p1c. I have removed the hardcoded verizon-specific properties and model identifiers as a first step towards proper support of both Verizon and Sprint models, but no functionality is changed from the newest CM10.1 builds.
I notice that there are not any PAC builds for p1(l|n) posted either, so if there is adequate interest I may begin builds for those devices as well.
TWRP 2.6.3.0 is the included recovery, and has full SELinux support. (Compatible with KitKat ROMs!)

You are definately right. As of right now, there are no developers working on the p1c. The last one i remember was stimp0z, and his son broke his tab. So, all the developers are now gsm based. Terenceng does have a kit kat version for the p1c. I have it on my other tab. Anyway, the developers all went to kit kat.
If i can be of help, let me know.

I have 3g on one tab, but it's on galaxy cubed. My other tab is on terenceng cm11 mod. Kit kat. If you could make a zip file with a patch to flash on kit kat, i could try it out.

first up - great to see someone working on development for the p1c - good score finding one in the bin!
to make things clearer - i was never a developer for the p1c, my old tablet (the p1 GSM version) was broken by my youngest son recently. my work on the p1c was purely guess work / diagnosed via my testers. p1c lost it's support from it's main developer (jt1134) before kernel 3.0 was released so without a developer to work on p1c related issues, it was hit and miss all the way. both humberos and myself had it booting, but it never worked with data (though attempts were made). now due to a generous donation from one of my CDMA testers, i will soon receive a Sprint tablet he has spare so i can continue developing - which means it will be a lot easier for me to work on issues facing the CDMA variants (but will never be able to test data myself as I live in Australia, not USA).
however - the more developers that work on the p1c the better, so please keep working on whatever you can - also working on something different to CM is definitely called for as i believe the users deserve a choice between custom ROMS for their SGT7.
if you wish to have a crack at data already - shoot me a pm and i'll give you some commits to look into that may help you on your way.
I am another P1C user, the last build around here that worked for me was alrodger's 4.1.2
Terenceng's does not work on my P1C, I am on verizon and it doesn't find the carrier and never activates.
P1C is only $75 on ebay these days for refurbished, great value.
I was kinda hoping to find a kitkat build for p1c that works but none exists and doesn't seem forthcoming by anyone.
I guess I will try 4.3.1
Does this have working usb and wifi tether? That's a biggie for me.
---------- Post added at 06:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:19 PM ----------
Okay I get the same failure trying to install this that I got with alrodger's final build.
using TWRP from the last kitkat flash, I wipe everything except the external sd card
then I try to install the rom and I get
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") ==
and a long list of devices
does that mean I have a device not in that list?
it then says
"E:Error executing updater binary in zip"
Also on 4.1.2 on my Sprint tab 7. I'm downloading and will give it a run. I dont have 3G but I'll report back after install.
terenceng is working on 4.4 and has "Coming Soon" for the PC1 but been a while. so now one is working on 4.4.
thanks ultravioletnanokitty for giving the P100 some love.
Update : ROM installed with out issue also used PAC gapps. WiFi OK camera OK feels quicker than 4.1.2. So all good for last 30 minute of use. Thanks for this rom dude nice job.
Cheers
update: okay I remembered how to get back to basics and I used heimdall to sideload cwm bootloader recovery
very fun looking rom, however it suffers from the same problem as Terenceng's:
it does not find the verizon radio/carrier and crashes when I try to manually activate it

Hi again, as stated before I do not have 3G connection plan on my Sprint tab, So I cannot test connectivity to 3G. All other functionality I can test.
Rom working nicely, few issues with following apps:
Netflix: movie never starts playing
Youtube: video never starts playing, "There was a problem while playing, Touch to retry"
Pandora: Audio does not start
Google Play Music: Audio does not start
Timely alarm clock: The set time to ring caused app stop
Navigation in all these apps is OK just issue when playing something
Apps working well:
iHeartRadio: Working OK
Gmail: Ok
Camer: pictures OK
Ebay: seems to be working ok but have not tested placing a bid
Let me know what else I can check, weekdays have little time to test but should be able to get something done.
Let me know what you want me to check or report on?
Cheers

Hey great job on the ROM, however I have found some bugs. Upon installing the keyboard didn't work. I installed hackers keyboard. Web videos and audio also do not seem to work either. I was also wondering if charging with USB while the device is on could be enabled.

media playback is flat-out broken in all p1x 4.3+ roms, i believe... also, i've never found charging while the device is on to work at all... if i leave it plugged into my laptop with the screen off overnight, it gets up to 99%. if i want to fully charge it the only option i've found is to power it off and plug it in. i don't have the original samsung charger or cable, though, so that could be it. regarding the keyboard, are you using gapps? i am on my tab, and i don't have any issues... it could be an issue with the aosp keyboard, though.
I just also recently picked up one of these guys, my actual intentions for mine is to get it on verizon prepaid using a extravert as a donor phone and tethering the 3g. I seen a guy offering a service to flash them but I am a bit unsure I would rather do it myself. Have you ever looked into this yet. You might get more bars with verizon than you do with sprint. Plus at like 10 bux a month unlimited internet isn't tp bad ( if you buy a $30 card good for 3 monthes IE $10 a month)
Let me know if I can be of assitance, Looking to flash a light weight rom.

It is my understanding (but not firsthand experience) that verizon can detect this within a couple of months and kill the imei, so be careful.
Instead I got onto a friend's family plan for $10 a month legit (but data cap of course)

Lets say I work for Verizon in a department that has privy info and tools at my disposal and I will tell you we have a tool called MVD it is a Mobile Virtual Diagnostic it can detect root and will show if the tool is run. The thing is it is only loaded for tools that have the most current version of My Verizon application installed 10.0 or higher. Anything prior to that it won't load your info so root can't be seen with general tech tools. Just FYI... I am happy you all are working on SCH-I800 But I can't seem to find the the Root and Tar files to load... Any image files link?

Well, that explains the lack of sound and the fact that all video apps crash.
Seriously though, this ROM is a significant improvement for me compared to Cyanogenmod 9.1 (4.0.4). My Tab is far more stable than it was, and has only crashed on me once, forcing me to do a factory reset.
Can I flash back to an earlier ROM, say 4.2.2 or 4.0.4, without bricking my Tab? I have seen on the AT&T Galaxy S 3 (SGH-i747) board that S 3s that updated OTA to 4.3 will hard brick if flashed to an older ROM, so I am concerned.
Also, how close in hardware is the p1c to the Galaxy S GT-i9000? I have several i9000 ROMs on my computer, and if it is close enough, I might be able to get media working on mine. Worth a try. :fingers-crossed:

WatchESPN stutter?
Do other people see video stutter on live video using the WatchESPN app?
I'm running a recent CM11 build and connected to a wired network. All other streaming apps (Comcast, BTN2Go, Netflix, Hulu, ...) play flawlessly, but WatchESPN shows a regular pattern of video pauses approximately 2 seconds apart.
I also tried to force 720p using the instructions at the beginning of this thread. Oddly, neither my monitor nor system panel reported 720p, both still reported 1080 after a reboot. I was able to force 720p from a terminal using the 'wm size' command, but the WatchESPN stutter remained.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Hey everyone,
First of all - thanks to everyone involved in getting Cyanogenmod on the Ouya. Such a better experience than the stock OS.
Quick question for anyone who may have come across an answer - I've been looking for a while now.....
I've tried installing Bell TV (similar to other live TV streaming apps on mobile devices), but when I try and stream, it won't allow it because an external display is connected. Is there any way to spoof the Ouya running Cyanogenmod to believe there is no external display?

CM11 which version to start?
Hi,
I have thinking of installing cm11 but i am a real novice when it comes to android. I have already rooted the device and use play store. What i wanted to know is there a preferred stable version to use or do i just select the latest nightly to try.
Also if anything does go wrong or i decide to want to go back to stock os is there a process for this? Where do i get a copy of the stock os to flash?
Sorry for the basic questions!

One method that works on rk3066/3188 devices is changing the content of the file stored at /sys/devices/virtual/switch/hdmi/state from '1' to '0'. I've been unable to change it on the Ouya. Apparently something in the kernel governs whether this file can be changed. I have no idea how to fix it though.

Thanks for the suggestion, feathers. I was able to change the file and save it. However, the app still detected an external display. Then I restarted the Ouya to see what would happen - the "state" file just reverted back to 1. I think you're right, something in the kernel must change it back - not sure what to do about it!

So I went through Xposed Framework, couldn't find any modules that would fix the problem though. There's a couple of app-specific modules for apps such as 4oTV, but I can't find anything that indicates it may work system-wide.

Hey Paul,
Not sure if you've tried to install CM already, but here are my thoughts:
Since CM11 on the Ouya is an unofficial release, and is also relatively new, I don't believe there is a stable release. I just used one of the nightlies to install though, and it went just fine.
As for reverting to stock, I'm not exactly sure about the details to be honest. Haven't tried it! I imagine reverting the OS to stock would not be very hard, you'd just have to reflash from recovery. Not sure about the bootloader, though.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply I did load CM11 but had to overcome an issue updating CWM Recovery which had been corrupted by an OUYA update. However all loaded fine and I have to say I much prefer CM11.
Just one issue to resolve now and that is I have no boot menu appearing even though I flashed it several times with no errors. I suspect it is something similar to what was stopping me originally loading CWM. It's a bit of a pain as I have no idea how to solve the issue. I think I will try to ADB Sideload it to see if I can see specific errors . I posted a question in the Help forum and hopefully someone will be able to offer some advice.
Thanks again.
Mouse stops working during video playback
Hi, I finally got CM11 running on my Ouya but I have a problem with video playback.
Playback works fine but the mouse pointer stops working as soon as the video starts playing (I'm using a USB Logitech k400). So, I can't change the play position, video settings, etc. Physical buttons still work, like back/esc, space/pause, home, etc.
Tested this problem with the following apps:
Netflix
Twitch
Crunchyroll
Chrome (when playing a full screen video)
Somehow the Youtube app doesn't have this problem (XBMC either).
Am I missing a setting or is this a problem with CM?
Thanks for the help.

setprop persist.tegra.hdmi.resolution 720p
What does
setprop persist.tegra.hdmi.resolution 720p
*really* do?
I have the property set, but my monitor and various 'system info' type apps still report 1080. I edited the entry in build.props as well just to test, and still 1080. My monitor definitely supports both 1080 and 720 resolutions. I've tried various builds from early October, through current.
If I open a terminal and use 'wm size' it reports back physical size 1080. I can issue a 'wm size 720p' and apps will start reporting 720p, but 'wm size' then reports physical size 1080 and override size of 720.
I've triple checked my spelling and I am setting the correct persist property. I know things are working because I can alter overscan using setprop and the changes are as expected.
If the persist.tegra.hdmi.resolution property is set to 720p does the internal framebuffer actually get reduced in size, or are graphics still rendered at 1080 internally, then scaled to a 720p output?
Can someone with a working 720p configuration tell me what is reported by 'wm size' in a terminal?
TIA

Hi there,
This thread is to collect the thoughts for this particular device. It is an Ecoo Aurora Plus (3GB) model but is also the variant which has a different processor (MTK6753).
Sadly there aren't many roms for this device yet. I was able to use the following roms with success:
(I cannot yet post links, so here are the breadcrumbs to the exact pages on "needrom" dot com.
TWRP
Home » - OTHER » E-F-G-H » ECOO » E04 Lite MT6753 TWRP
Android 5.1
Home » - OTHER » E-F-G-H » ECOO » ECOO E04 3GB+ MT6753
All of the important stuff works (from my perspective). I prefer something leaner, so I am waiting for a different rom to be available, but so far this one is pretty good. It was especially handy since you can't find the stock rom anywhere, and also when I bricked my phone and just needed something that worked.
Do you have this device? What rom/apps are you running on it?
Note: There were annoying ads appearing, which I was able to remove by using a different Launcher. The Ecoo Launcher seemed to be the source of the ads.
Hi I'm waiting for it, it's at the custom office now and I should get it soon in about a week I hope.
I've heard on an Italian forum of another guy who got a bug, usual on mtk 6753, with whatsapp crashing the camera when used from within whatsapp. Did you find the same issue with that rom?
Let's keep this thread alive if any updated rom will hopefully come.
bugs bugs bugs
I got mine a couple of days ago, with the latest 5.1 update. I got some bugs that are really annoying. The screen locks by itself randomly, the dropdown settings tab 50% of the time doesnt dropdown and the 3d performance is poor. Antutu full score on mine is a little over 36000, but as i said 3d is terrible (7fps at marooned scene and 4fps at garden scene). Also battery life is terrible.....
I dont know if i just got a bad piece or if they are all rom related, but i am willing to try a few roms before i decide to send it on a 3 month warranty trip back to china...
If i didnt have these bugs, i would say that this is a truly great phone and not just for its price range.
All help would be appreciated guys.

Crashing Camera apps - YES. I have tried many camera apps from the app store. They ALL crash the camera when taking a photo. The preview/viewfinder works, but when i try to take the picture, the camera freezes. Now I am using the ROM mentioned in the original post, and the camera app that comes installed with that ROM works.
Man I REALLY hate the pictures this phone takes.

Hmm. I have bugs, certainly, but I don't have those bugs you mentioned. I BELIEVE I did have the random locking screen bug when the phone was brand new, but I have not had that since I switched ROM. I haven't tried a 3d game yet.
Did you switch Launcher? I highly recommend it. It may even clear up some bugs. Keep us posted.
Yes it is still a great phone. We will get a great ROM one day.

So back to stock, and waiting for a solution, if it ever comes along..

Where do you get the stock rom? did you do a backup?
About the launcher, I had to remove the "Ecoo Launcher" because of ads (not really bugs). I did this with "Titanium backup" after I rooted my phone. Maybe give Nova launcher a try? Not really for bugs, just for a smooth experience.

Yeah, me too. Being a developer, I was hoping to visit the subject of making an AOSP one myself. Haven't had the time. I read that for MTK processors it's not so easy as MediaTek did not release the chip's "source code" (or something like that). But I'm curious about how other MTK ROMs exist.
I was thinking maybe its worth PORTING a ROM from a different phone with the same proc? Say and Elephone P8000 (MTK6753).
Hi, nothing happening yet with this phone? It just arrived to me and I will be testing it after a full charge soon. In meanwhile as for the camera bug used from whatsapp, a workaround has been found by Enabling the flash led after you open it from wa; it should work.
Still no love on needrom com. I tried your flash workaround and it works! I tried it with what's app and open camera. Good job!
Got some love on needrom. A little. A user who has made some roms for the MTK6752 version asked someone for some information about his device. I stepped in and offered to help. He asked me to take screencaps of my device info using MobileUncle. I have done this and sent it to him, but that was in a PM. For everyone's sake, here is a link to the compiled screencap of the Ecoo E04 3gb MTK6753 Device Info.

Try to make "something" for Ecoo e04 mt6753
Hi to all
Lately I am trying to help the owners of the Ecoo e04 mt6753. Today I have built a twrp 3.0.0.0 for your device ... if everything will works well ... then I will try to build a rom for your device. I need someone to help me to do some test about twrp ... it is because I am a owner of an Ecoo e04 mt6752 ... so I can't test the twrp on my device. I am not sure that twrp will works well ... BUT ... if everything will be all right ... then I will start to work on the rom project. In case anyone's interested ... please give me a feedback ... so I will send you the link of my twrp test by private message.
Regards
Yes please, count me in for the twrp

I have sent you my twrp 3.0.0.0 test by private message ... please give me a feedback when you have tested it.
Thank you for making yourself available

I have one last favor I would ask to you : please reboot your device into TWRP 3.0.0.2 recovery and make a screenshot of the main menu. Then please send me that screenshot to me by private message. I need that screenshot to publish the twrp on Needrom.
Thanks in advance.
Kindest Regards

Hello Friend. Are you sure that you have a working recovery? I tested the recovery on your Ecoo E04 3GB + tried different ways of installation . No one returned no results .
Hello !
I love taking photos and shooting videos with my phone and I always listen to music with Bluetooth headphones.
I looked for some custom ROMs in the forum but I'm a little lost about stability, what is working and what is not.
So I wanted your help guys and girls please.
I see that LineageOS 15.0 seems pretty stable but there's A LOT to read and tbh, I don't have the courage to do that haha.
If Android Pay could work too on it, that would be awesome but I don't have that much hope about that.
Thanks in advance for your answers and time,
Cordially,
bmx22c.
I'm very content with LOS 14.1 as it worked flawless since I installed it several months ago, but ViperOS also has a good track record when it comes to stabilty.
For camera it's easy, just install the last APK in the thread, where there are also suggestions about how to set it up every few posts:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi...google-camera-camera-api2-fix-t3655211/page70
60fps video recording has some issues with several people though, so if are among them, try to use the ROM camera app for video. Photo's are best in the above app.
Android pay will probably work when you install Magisk (which roots the device and makes it pass the various security checks for stuff like Netflix and online banking), which also has plugins for music quality in the "Magisk Manager" app:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Personally, I use the Dolby plugin for sound (not sure if this version is still found in Magisk Manager):

Thanks for your answer !
I will look into LOS 14.1 !
I'm mainly using the phone to shoot photos in RAW format (raw format let you save all data from the camera in case you are not familiar with photos) but I have read some threads about the Google Camera APK and it really looks cool !
For 60 FPS, it may be an issue, but I'm mainly recording in 4K30i so if 4K works, it's okay for me
Oh ! Magisk ! Never used it haha, I always used SuperSU, it may be time for me to update my knowledge, thanks !
I used to install Viper4Android but if Dolby work, that's fine, I mean, at least bluetooth needs to work haha !
Thanks again for your answer !
4k30fps works, so no problem there. You can BTW also manually install Magisk modules, so you can try out whatever soundmod you please.
/EDIT: For the camera app, look at the latest posts for the newest version!

Have you ever tested LOS 15.0 ? I mean, it is the latest version, am I right ?
I have not tested it yet because there are some serious security bugs still left, plus some random stuff popping up. I'd rather wait a bit more before I move as it is so new. Recently there has been news that LineageOS is planning to merge android 8.0 with 8.1 in the coming weeks (with not 1 phone having LOS 15 officially yet), so that might possibly introduce more bugs. Call me a chicken, but I like my phone working whenever I need it.

Oh ok thanks, I didn't knew that it was THAT early, thanks for the informations, I really appreciate it !
Tbh, I liked changing ROMs on my older phone but I didn't do that for like 2 years now and I'm pretty lost on LOS versions.
EDIT: One last question. Do you have any tips as when installing LOS 14.1 ? I'm still in MIUI 8 and I haven't changed my recovery.
My bootloader is unlocked.
I think (correct me if I'm wrong) I need to install TWRP and then wipe DATA + SYSTEM then flash ZIP (+ GAPPS later).
EDIT 2: I'm pretty scared tbf because last phone I had was a Honor 7 and it was just so painful not to brick the phone.. Installing version was painful like you needed x amout of instructions not to brick it and I just hope I won't lose any personnal data (personnal files, I know that SMS will be wiped)
EDIT 3 (yup, that many edit haha): I only see "nightly" version, is this correct, or is there any "stable" one ?
Well, as far as I read, they are more stable than I expected (as in: the bugs are relatively minor, thus it is useable if you are not easily annoyed) and the devs are making progress REALLY fast. So maybe in a months time or so it might already be worth for even the more cautious users to switch. Kinda depends on what kind of user you are. But from your text I figured you are someone who prefers stability over bleeding edge features.

Well, I'm an experienced Android user, and I had a pretty bad experience with my last phone which was a pain in the back for developers, so ROMs where not stable at all, video recording looked like sh*t, apps crashed etc. So I'm not against a bug here and there you know
Hi,
I'm just going to borrow this thread for a second, as I am looking for a similar thing. I would like to just add one more important factor for me and that is battery life. Would you say that this is also the best on Los 14.1? Are there any tweaks necessary in order to get the most out of the battery, similar to camera or sound tweaks? Is there still a battery drain associated with the fingerprint sensor?
Thank you!
For me battery life is fine as it is, but great after installing ForceDoze (Magisk module) after another user recommended it. No added trouble, so also a strong recommendation there.
To be extra certain you could flash the latest official Global MIUI first before flashing LOS as it installs the latest firmwares. It might be that you have to reinstall TWRP though.
Hi ! im looking forward to change my rom and i wanted to know if specificly the xt2051-1 had one (cuz thats the one i have) i cant find any anywhere for it and i dont want to go for another versions rom cause i dont want my phone to f up i got my phone rooted and installed twrp on it ,my manager is magisk i am confortable with command lines even tho im learning + is there any programs i should use on my pc in case my phone decides to fudge?
thanks for the help
thanks for helping newbies like me
Considering you just got yours,we can assume that it has the new touch screen,so afaik the only rom that will work with touch is this one

A dev uploaded an unofficial 17.1 to AFH(1) w/ the new display driver a couple weeks back. It works great, except no audio besides during phone calls or when using headphones(or BT?, IDK).
I recently stumbled upon AlaskaLinuxUsers tutorial+videos(2) on how to setup & compile custom ROMs. Am in the process of setting up an Ubuntu workstation with 4th gen i5, 8GB DDR3, 2TB SSD & slow internet. It will take some time, apparently. My goal is to get this 17.1 working w/ new display &/or the working 18.1 w/ new display sans gapps. IDK if I will achieve a bootable ROM, but it looks like it's my only path, as outside of Electimon(3), not a lot of development is going on w/ Ginna anymore. Will post progress/results, if any is gained.

Nothing but respect & gratitude for E's work. Am a long-time fan. However, his build contains Gapps & I don't want them.
Understandable if you get one going let me know because I'm currently on stock due to camera issues and I would love a ROM sans g apps especially if you would put sig spoof in for micro g
Just before i do something i just want to know if AOSP has a rom for that phone already cause its my fav rom of all time but if i have to port it myself is there any guidelines i could find on how to port/create custom roms ?

Two posts before yours, link #2.
I have been delayed... unidentified bug bite put me out of service for a bit. Wild f'n ride. Got Ubu w/s setup, will start provisioning/downloading tonight.
After ~14 hours downloading(multiple nights @ < 1MB/s... aggregating > 50 GB) on my wireless plan, I am yet to achieve a 100% sync of the LOS repo. After hitting the MU Throttle Threshold on last month's plan, I must concede defeat at this point as I cannot afford to jeopardize my only home inet option available for another 30 days(extreme rural living, no landlines or line-of-sight options). Sigh.
my schedule is full of other things but i will take a look at the links posted and attempt to to builds as it. LOS sans GAPPS sounds like a dream. currently I use 18.1 modded and manually degoogle it. its not so fun everytime i reset :/
Any update on a XT2051-1 with the new screen and no GAPPs

FWIW, I should have an internet connection capable of down/uploading in the next 2 weeks, at which time I will begin failing to compile until I succeed. Hopefully, on all points.
It seems like rolling the old 17.1 w/ the new display driver would be pretty straightforward, but a lot of ignorance is wrapped in that statement.
