How do i make stock rom apps compatible with a new screen resolution?

How do i make stock rom apps compatible with a new screen resolution as i've just changed my resolution to 1280x720 and most apps are force closing.. Is there anyway to fix what is happening? Thanks in advance.

How did you change the screen resolution??? The S4M cant display 1280x720, only 960x540

Nomone resolution changer; and no it doesn't just change dpi it changes the screen resolution too.. You can also play 720p youtube video's ☺

If you'd know how a screen is build and functioning you would know that your statement is totally incorrect. An app can't change the actual resolution of a screen. If it could it would get the Nobel Prize of something. Youtube is just tricked into thinking your device has a higher dpi, hence allowing a higher resolution setting.......

Why dont you try the app yourself (on aosp) and you will see a difference.. especially if you play games..

That is not possible if that would be possible you could use an old screen on your Computer and change the resolution to play Games in 1920x1080.

But you cam do that i've done it; but it wont fit nicely on the screen.

Make a screenshot of your supposed high resolution screen and look at the image details for its real resolution.

Finally I ported the lenovo super camera for P8000, back camera is working fine but front camera hung as of now.. I will fix the front camera next week if i got spare time again. .
Just download the app and install on your phone, once you installed the app please restart the phone. The Camera is very quick and with many advance features, hope you all like it..

Didn't play with it for too long. The back camera seemed fine and the front one froze.

cannot open the gallery from inside the camera. other than that, back camera is working fine. Thanks!

It also works on the S2. The problem is of course that a different camera app cannot fix the problems with the image smoothing which is done on a lower level than the app, so the definition remains unchanged. The camera on the S2, though claimed as 13Mpixels, same as my Moto G, produces images with lower definition because of excessive or poorly executed iimage smoothing.

Will you make Lenovo super camera update? Now doesn't work front camera and it is impossible to see made pictures inside from camera. This app makes much better pictures than original one.
Or maybe someone can suggest other 3rd party camera app with fast shooting and good picture quality?
I tried Camera MX, Ucam, some others - they are very slow.

The app works great! Apart from the front cam and accessing the gallery it is a major upgrade over the stock cam. Hope you get a chance to fix it soon

Alternate Camera App

Hi,
Does anyone have any recommendations for an alternative camera app? Something that gives you more advanced controls and taking pics whilst recording video. I'm coming to the nexus from Samsung and even though the lock screen shortcut will launch the default app, having a more advanced one would be useful.

The apps A Better Camera I have used before and like the features it offers, good amount of fine tuning options. Another app worth taking a look at is Camera360 Ultimate different setup then A Better Camera but still plenty and some different features as well. Let me know if you still have questions.

I just got my N5X and installed A Better Camera on it, it does work, it takes photos, records videos, and you can take a photo while recording a video. One big problem though: everything (photos and videos) is recorded upside-down. The app has a setting allowing you to rotate the view manually (I guess to accommodate cameras that are installed in different orientations), but it doesn't work on the N5X apparently. I also got one force close while using it.

Sounds like they haven't updated for Marshmallow.

It was discussed in another thread, but I recommend Open Camera. Has a lot more features than the stock Camera app, and it works fine with our reverse-landscape mounted sensors. If you enable the experimental Camera 2 API support, you can try out the EIS option for video recording. Works fairly well I think.

Hmm. Can we adjust the double power button to go to another app? Also on the default app can we shut the noise?

Use a different launcher, like Nova, and you can assign gestures and shortcuts to several actions on the phone. I use Nova and have the camera app set up to launch whenever I touch home when I'm on the home screen or double touching of home if I'm on any other screen.

Yep, that Camera is nice, would lke to compare a video recorded with EIS and without to see the differences...!

But still no photos during video

Hey how long does the manual camera let you keep the shutter open for? What is the lowest the setting can go to?
On the Nexus 5 it was .8seconds. Really hoping for it let you keep it open for longer like the G4 does.

I don't really know, I just know it was the first one getting in shape for camera api 2.
Sadly I sold my N5 for a while ago but I imagine Ill use it on 6P

Oh I was under the impression that you had the 5X lol. Yeah if you like to take full control while snapping you definitely will like using manual camera.

As I said upthread, A Better Camera lets you take photos while recording video. It records everything upside-down when used on the Nexus 5X though. Presumably that will be fixed in an update.

Taken at least a dozen photos of my idiotic face just to test it, and it works exceptionally well really. Thanks to whoever modified it, great job.
The caveats though, it will only work as long as a HUMAN FACE is detected, for nothing else, and HDR+ or HDR Enhanced etc. modes won't have any effect while using this portrait mode. Also I really wish the images didn't come in the burst mode format, but I am sure a future update will polish up these things, kindly update the topic if an update is made to the app.

If you check out the post I linked to in the op, he details how this sorcery works. I don't think portrait mode is designed to work with hdr+ as it is kind of counterintuitive. Face retouch works however and works well with portrait mode. I think the burst mode is a side effect of the work around he is using (using the software version that's implemented in the pixel 2's ffc on our cameras rear facing camera). Anyways I'm just happy to see our device is still getting improvements from these newer devices. ?

Has anyone tested normal photos with HDR and HDR+ to see if it performs the same as the normal google camera? If it's the same then it makes sense to disable the google camera and rely totally on this one.

Been meaning to but really didn't get time to inspect the photos on my monitor, however I think this one has some video recording feature missing or whatever, someone mentioned EFS not working on 1080p. Pardon me if I've read wrong.

So if we can get portrait mode se should be able to get now playing too right?

Yes, EIS does not work with 1080p ( which I use the most for the 60fps) and to be honest, HDR+ enhanced seems to be a bit over processed compared to the stock camera in my opinion.

Do you have the newer APK, which I told adds some 4k features?
Edit: looks like it adds 4k to phones that support it but didn't come with it.
