Many people are joining xda on daily basis. Some of them join the forum to get custom ROMs while some join in order to get some of their problem that they are facing with their phones solved.
There are dedicated threads for ROMs but what about HELP/QUESTIONS??
People generally straight away start a new thread to get their doubts solved. But this can lead to chaos in the forum.
I'm creating this thread as an alternative to *New Threads* that aim to resolve a question.
Not only this, this thread can also become a Database kind of place where people can look if their question is already solved or not...
I request all members of the ASUS ZENFONE 2 sub-forum to help and answer some questions posted here if they can.
I hope you guys get the idea behind this thread...

From where you got the info about the prices? Or is just a guess? I also think that the high specs version would have the price of 299.
Anyone knows how are these processors with the battery life.?

Last Year Zen Fone 4,5.6. Price Point will be followed ...........
Camera Details On lower end version. is unknown
To my understanding atom processors are nowhere near the performance of current generation ARM.. Has anything changed? Is this cpu comparable to anything released in the last year?

Benchmarks report the higher end one in zenphone 2 is comparable to snap Dragon 805. Not sure about battery efficiency.
In terms of real world performance, the Intel CPUs are very satisfying. I have a very old CloverTrail CPU in my Venue 8 tablet, and it feels just as snappy as the Snapdragon 800 in my phone, even though the 800 blows it away in benchmarks.
The big question is how is the ROM and dev support going to be for this phone.

That's good to hear! I'm excited about this phone assuming 1) unlocked bootloader + source release and 2) Dev support
So since I am new here and found this thread I had to ask..
I am intrigued by the Zenfone 2 but I like the Oneplus One as well..
I am an iOS user (got really tired of it.. ) and I am going to switch to Android.
The advice I've been given is to search if there are going to be custom ROMs and support before buying a phone!
Is there a reason to wait for the Zenfone 2 over the Oneplus One?
(Planning on using a custom ROM so it will have "pure" android (propably CM, dunno still searching) )
Thnx in advance
Considering the specs on the ZenFone 2 are basically the same as all these 7-10" Windows tablets, how long before you think before we see full Windows 8.1/10 on the ZenFone 2?

Having owned the OnePlus One and a Note 3 with CM11, they are both very nice. I have a good feeling about the ZenFone 2 though. More "open" hardware. You may also look at the Lenovo P90 (much bigger battery). The #1 advantage of the ZF2 or the P90 is that they both run 64bit processors, so they are ready for 64bit Android.
Is the Zenfone2 gonna work on Verizon Network?

With the 720p model, it'll be a 5 inch phone, right?
Go for ASUS you wont regret it!
If the price is acceptable, this one definitely will be a hot item.Asus is very committed in costumer satisfaction.their is extremely fast in software upgrading. Asus strategies in marketing have fortunes both side.for example, after zenfone 5 Lte out with kitkat ,month later(l believed its take a month just because its had a different cpu vendor) all previous Zenfone series also received same upgrading and all leftover stock in market becomes high demanded until need to refill. Now zenfone 5 is conquer over 4 Asean country and the funny things is I,the early owner of zenfone 5 still use jb because its alredy bugless in last jb version(finally usb OTG support) .In my country, zenfone 5 is one of hot items and now I'm very proud to shows off my fone to my friends cause its so popular. Now zenfone its definitely on theirs list.Thank you Asus for my dignity
WHAT about GPL compliance of ASUS.... was there any word about device tree and source code???
how did xda opened a thread for zenfone 2????
Hello everyone
I intend to buy a new phone but with dual card. I wanted to buy Xiaomi MI Note, but the cost is huge so I gave up. I stumbled upon a phone AusuZenfon2. As I watched some clips on YT seems that his camera much good. In Xioamia Mi Note camera is even better than the iPhone 6 Plus. I hope and Zenfonu 2 will be good camera.
What interests me is:
1. How satisfied are you with you thus far zenfonom users in general?
2. Procesor which is located in the Zenfone2 (64-bit Intel Atom 3560/3580 Quad Core Processor (Running at 1.8 / 2.3GHz) PowerVR Series 6 - G6430, with OpenGL 3.0 support), so I interesujeu which rank this processor in compared to the Snapdragon family? 800, 801 or maybe 805?
3. Does really feature HDR blacklight gives such good pictures in low light or is just marketing trick?
4. Will it will be 4K recording and slowmotion 240fps in zenfonu 2?
5. Zenfone 2 will have two models, one of 2GB and the other 4GB Ram. Is the difference only in RAM or a even a change?
Advance very grateful
PS I see the comments someone goes dead motherboard. How is this happening? And if this is a common problem with this phone?
P.S2 .. I looked at photos Zenfon 5 :crying:and unfortunately photos are bad phone that I now have a Xioami Mi3 and captures a lot of good pictures. Will Zenfone 2 have a better camera than Zenfona 5?

Unfortunately not. Verizon works on CDMA network which is not supported by Zenfone 2 and is not supported by a lot of other phones. Verizon also uses LTE network and it is currently the broader LTE network in the USA. You can check the coverage here: http://www.verizonwireless.com/. The Verizon LTE network bands will be supported by some models of Zenfone 2. You could theoretically use Zenfone 2 on Verizon, but then you have to use voip instead of standard calling and depend fully on the LTE in general.

Nobody uses the Zenfone 2 because it's not on the market yet. I have Asus tablet based on (an older) Intel SoC and I'll try to answer to your questions on the base of that experience:
1. I'm really satisfied with the tablet. It is fast, stable and modest in energy consumption.
2. Intel 3580 is generally considered better SoC than any of Snapdragons you mentioned and has better Antutu Results. Besides only the newest of Snapdragons 805 (and 810) is 64-bit, but both are 28nm, so they are likely less energy efficiently than Intel Atom 3560/3580, which are 22nm thick.
3. It's not a market trick. You can get live tests of camera performance.
4. yes.
5. It's not known yet, but I assume that Asus plans to offer entry level model with Intel 3560, 2GB RAM and lower resolution and high end with Intel 3580, 4GB RAM and higher resolution. Starting price for the first model is supposed to be $199 and for the second one $299. Additional ROM will probably increase the price. And there are still modifications which are not sorted out yet regarding LTE antennas regarding selling territory and 5 inch model which is currently still a big mystery.
So lately, I've been thinking of selling my LG G for a Note 2 just because note 2 has a bigger screen.
The problem is, how does note 2's Processor and GPU put up with LG G's. They say Note 2's RAM and processor is better at multitasking tasks than into raw processing power for games while LG G's processor is mainly for raw power but not too much on multitasking.
What do you guys think? Should I sell my LG G for a Note 2?
Thanks
So, i recently got myself an at&t let Phoenix 2, it's a ok phone but it's adreno 304 really lags in many games. A friend is selling a note 2, for about 50$ is in pristine condition basically new.
The question now is, should i get the note 2? It's supposed to have a mali 400mp4 or something like that and it's a samsung device which are normally higher quality than lg.
What do you guys think? Is it worth getting for games?

Buy a redmi note 4 cost will be~ $150 but it's worth it every penny this phone should have costed $250 if it were motorola.. The adreno 506 is a lot better than the crap py outdated old mali 400MP
The problem is i got no money for a new phone, id ve selling my phoenix 2 should i decide to get a new Phone.
But just out of Curiosity, which one of the variations from that redmi nite 4 should i get? Theres the 64gb and 4x high versions which both feature 10 cores with mtk helio x20, dual channel memory and malis t880mp4 which seem to clock higher than the adrenos on the note 4's msm8953 and 4x's which also feature qualcomms snapdragons 625 octacores and both sigle channel ans higher frequency ram
Also what are your thoughts of the alcatel a30 plus?
Are there anyone who own or had used both 5 and 5z? I'm not sure how much difference between sd636 and 845. I know 845 is "superior", but how far? Camera, battery, performance, are they that noticable? They differ for about $150 at my place, so I'm wondering if it's worth the price (and the wait, since 5z isn't out yet here)
can you guys help me decide?
I will really appreciate some comments here as well.
They are basically the same phone but only difference is the processor.
I've had the 5 but not the 5z yet so I can't compare them directly. However I did compare performance between the Zenfone 5 and 2 845 phones (Oneplus 6 and Mi Mix 2s) while I had them. There is no question that the 845 phones are faster. The biggest difference I noticed is with opening apps. The 845 phones were pretty much instant but the Zenfone 5 took a little longer. It wasn't horrible but it was noticeable if you have or have used a phone with an 845 (or 835). This difference is why I sold the Zenfone 5 and am waiting for the 5z to be available in the U.S.

Yes, hence this question about the difference between processors

So the performance is noticeable at least. Thanks for that. I wish we can compare the camera and battery between Zen5 (636) and OP6, but since even Zen5z is quite different from OP6 with a same processor, I guess we can't do that to the camera result.
My current phone is Zen2 Laser, so I don't think I'll feel the difference since I haven't owned any 845 device. If it's not horrible, and if there's no difference in camera and battery (I'll still ask around and look for more reviews about this), I think I'll go with normal Zen5 for the next 2-4 years.
I still hope you can give more insight when your Zen5z arrived later
edit: from the other thread, I think Zen5z has a bit better battery, but not by much
Hey.
Can anyone help me in deciding which phone to get. My daily usage is mostly mails and instant messaging along with maybe 30 minutes of games. Multi tasking is what I need and my current phone heats up a lot while gaming, so please mention any shortcomings of the 5Z. I have been waiting for the 6GB RAM variant of the MAX PRO for a month, still no ETA.
Should I just go ahead and pull the trigger on the 5Z? or Should I wait for the M1 PRO 6GB? I do like stock android and I've read that the 5z RAM management is not good. Please advise.
Thanks and Cheers!
The 5z is way better.
My OP6 was destroyed by water so I've bought a 5z about 3 days back.
It's mind blowing for the price.
Great battery.
Almost minute warming as compared to OP6.
Standby battery drain of only 01.00% (yes, One%) over 8 hours at night. OP6 had over 7-8%.
Amazing speakers dual.
Not a heavy UI. ZenUI 5.0 is very streamlined.
And the features that are there are very useful.
And the AI does play a role in the background which you notice in small details. And it's supposed to get better with use.
I think between the OP6. And the 5Z it will essentially be about your choice between an IPS and Amoled screen. Many people prefer Amoled but I personally prefer IPS because it is more true to life.

I'll wait until the end of this month and see if they launch the 6GB MAX PRO M1. else I'll pull the trigger on the 5Z.
Thanks!
Actually, why not just get the Zenfone 5? Sounds like the most perfectly balanced phone in both price and performance.

yes, get the ZE620KL (Zenfone 5 2018) instead
it have the look and feel of 5Z
but same proc as MaxProM1
performance is better (the OS is fluid)
just the battery is fewer but the QuickCharge always supports u
I ended up buying a 6GB 5Z since I figured I'd treat myself after not buying a new phone for 4 years.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
The Zenfone 5 doesn't work well in USA. The signal ain't the greatest.
