Hi,
i usually charge my One X over night with the original HTC charger.
I use a custom ROM (Charmeleon) but experienced this also on stock a couple of weeks ago.
Sometimes i wake up, unplug the phone and it's kind of hot and only charged to about 65% although it was plugged about 8 hours.
This night it happened the second time in a row.
Has anyone the same issue?
Thanks
Regards
Daniel
You need to reset the battery stats, though I'm not sure how to do it on a HOX; I'm still unrooted, locked.
Usually it's through recovery. Basically since you flashed the rom at (possibly) not full battery it thinks the battery is full at 65% on the new rom.

No, that's not the problem because i use this ROM for a week now and it charged without a problem the other days. And as i mentioned, i also got this on stock one time...
Since you're rooted and unlocked it wouldn't hurt to wipe the stats again. Charge it full, turn it off and charge it for 10 minutes, turn it on in recovery and wipe stats. Then let it die completely and charge it full. Should be fine.

I highly doubt it just isn't charging.. Maybe restart it before you sleep? If you possibly have a ton of background stuff running? I can imagine it wouldn't charge due to that though. It could also be a deeper problem that might need a full wipe and re flash...

Hmm the last two charges were fine. Very suspicious... :-/
There may have been a connection problem with the cables, happened to my brother when he didn't use the factory charger.

And it happened again....
I use the original htc Desire hd charger with a Kindle USB cable.
But if thats really the Problem, why does it work Most of the time?

BTW i wiped battery stats before.
I think i will wait for the next Charmeleon Version to come and wipe completely then.

Yeah, do that.. But a third party usb extender caused his problem. Weird, I thought. It wouldn't even charge enough to get past a black screen, it scared me I thought it was bricked. A little adjustment of the connection fixed it but needless to say we don't use that cable anymore.

Now i got the same issue with the original cable. I charged it at work after it charged only to ~67% over night and suddenly the notification led started flashing orange and green and the phone got very hot.
I'd definitely return it to the retailer its clearly hardware..

Try battery calibration app from the play store, i used this to sort out a similar problem on my old desire.

This app deletes the same battery stats which have been mentioned above, its just an easy way to do it.

Has anything changed on Android 4 about the battery stats? I cleared them the first time after i installed a custom rom.
Before my One X has charged about 70 times without any problems (just 1 time i got this error). After i installed the custom rom and cleared battery stats (via "Battery Calibration" from play store) i got this issue more and more.

I am all for the easy way.
I have the same problem with my HOX. From what I noticed this happens only if the device is really hot. As soon the temperature goes down it starts charging again. From what i've read on google, it has some settings from stopping it from charging on high temperature because the Li-Po battery can explode much more easier then the Li-On one.
I installed ARHD 7.1.0 this morning had 90% battery after installing, thought id top it up to full when i checked 15mins later it was still at 90%. Rebooted into recovery deleted battery stats and started charging all good.

You have a very badly made app working in background, eating the battery, heating up the cpu, this could be related to modified unstable ROM. Forget about battery calibration, android does that automatically for 1 reason only - to show you the most appropriate percentage when you use the battery itself, it has nothing to do with your problem.
I'm one step closer - i maybe found the cause, but not the solution.
I installed Current Widget yesterday and enabled logging. At midnight i connected my One X to the factory charger and went to bed.
At 7:00 the phone was really hot, Battery indicator showed 58°C and the battery was at about 70%.
I checked the Current Widget immedeately and found out that the phone charges to 100%!!
0:00 5%, Plugged in
2:54 100%, Fully charged
3:44 100% Charging state, kept until now
4:40 69%, Until now constantly losing charging state
4:41 70%, Seems to charge again
4:56 69%, Charging seems not to work
5:20 71%, Charging again a little
7:00 71%, Just kept the state and changing between 69 and 71%
7:01 71%, Plugged out
The "jobs" that run over night are:
02:00 Sms Backup and Restore
03:00 Titanium Backup - Backup all User Apps and Data
04:00 Whatsapp Autobackup
How can i find out what is the problem / Causes the drain?
The phone is in airplane mode the whole night.
Anyone having this issue?
I leave the tablet when I go to work. When I get home it is non responsive. I have to hold the power button for 10 seconds to reboot it.
Is this a setting that can be turned off?

Do you have Netflix installed on it?
There was a thread on reddit which said that this is happening because the Netflix app locks the CPU when in sleep mode. But at the same time I haven't seen this issue on my tablet. The OP on the reddit thread did mention he was testing it with chromecast though.
Current solution was to uninstall Netflix. Worth a shot.

Mine did that yesterday. After I got it charged up enough to power up I found that the calendar app had locked up my CPU and drained ~60% of my battery according to the battery stats in settings.

Thanks guys.
My battery does not drain. It just becomes unresponsive.
I do have Netflix installed. I will see if uninstalling fixes the issue.

Mine did the same thing last night, went to bed in the morning it wouldn't wake up had to reboot
set it down for about 30 minutes did the same thing, there was a system update available, i installed it and it has been fine all day
i did not have any battery drain and netflix is not installed
Had a brain fart... Netflix was never installed. I already installed system update (4.3 upgrade)

Samething happened here. Left it idle overnight and the battery died. Is this a software issue?
I flashed cleanrom, and issue repeated.

I haven't noticed any battery drain or locking while idle before I rooted and after I installed PA. I have to say though, the battery life on these are incredible. Forgot to charge it last night and it's still around 90-95% battery.
Anyway, I have to agree with the others, there's probably a wakelock going on. Check your battery statistics to see what's causing your wakelock.

Install gsam battery monitor, formerly known as bad ass battery monitor to see what app drains battery if your having battery drains etc. to check battery stats in native 4.3 click the battery symbol in the status bar and then browse battery or select setting / battery / etc.
Decided to get it exchanged to be safe. It does not look like a common issue.
I've got a similar problem. Recently (since the latest update), my device will be unresponsive to touch when I wake it up. It has only happened a handful of times, but enough to be a problem. The screen will rotate, and it will respond to side button inputs, but no touch. Every time has been after a prolonged sleep, and the only fix is to restart the device. My device is on the charger, so the battery is full. I do have Netflix installed, but have had since day 1 (actually day -2 since they released it early) and never had the issue before this last update. It's not something I can reproduce, but it's happened about 5 times over the last few weeks
i having the same issue as well and weirdly this only occurs after i put on moko casing
it was working fine from the first day until i got my new moko case, it went to shut down when i left it idle for few hours or overnight. It happened twice now so i will see if it happens again without the casing
my nexus is naked and completely stock
Mine is now doing this, Its happening all the time. Anyone know if this is software or hardware related?

I got the same issue too. I'm hopeful this is software related. I've been reading about similar issues in xda and google product support forums as well.

I had the same issue on day one right after my purchase...
Drained it to about 5%, charged it whilst the unit was on when I left for work the next morning. Got back from work and it was completely dead. Took it back for an immediate exchange.
System update was installed right after the initial bootup so I think it was a dodgy batch.
New one has been running great but I noticed that the 3d graphics were especially bad before it died so I don't know it the GPU had died on me?
Hopefully its not a common fault!

Same, but it wasn't charging. I was sitting reading Game of Thrones and I couldn't turn pages. Then I tried to lock and unlock it, change volume, rotate it, everything worked except touch. Only happened once so far but I'm blaming Asus' awesome quality control on their touchscreens.
edit: nevermind
I know battery issues are common on the gnex, but I couldn't find the specific issue I'm having. My phone charges the battery just fine, however it doesn't ever display the correct battery percentages. A 100% charged battery will only show 85% on my phone, and a 55% battery will show 0% on my phone and it will shut itself off. I've done lots of testing swapping with my wife's phone and can confirm that my phone is the problem. It does this with both the original 1850 mah battery and the 2100 mah Samsung extended. Because I can only use the 100% to 55% actual range (it shuts itself off because it thinks it's dead), my battery life is even shorter than usual. I've tried reflashing my rom and also a wipe of /data and /system before reflashing. Tried a few different kernels as well. My next step is to try a complete factory restore to stock, but before I do that has anyone had this issue before and is there a way to fix it?

Just adding an update in case anyone else runs into this and is searching. It definitely is a hardware issue, as I had factory reset and tried several batteries. It continued to deteriorate until it would stop charging at 68%. I got a replacement from Verizon and lo and behold the replacement has the same issue (plus the handset speaker sounds awful). Now they are sending me a new one which I should get Monday. Hopefully that will be the end of this...

Did you try a Battery calibration app?
Yes, out of desperation. As others have pointed out though, battery calibration apps just wipe the batterystats.bin file. This does nothing to actually calibrate the battery and android automatically does this every time you fully charge anyway. My device and it's replacement both had the issue. Got the new one and am going to swap tonight, here's hoping it works.

Hi guys, I've bought yesterday a moto 360. I've updated it to the last firmware and linked it to my phone.
Today it was charged 100% and now (after 5 hours) it was 0%.
Is that normal? I also turned wifi off

Depends on what you do with it. When I tried to watch YouTube on my watch the batt drained about 20% in 6 minutes. Lol.
But if you did nothing like that, just normal use then it's not normal. Maybe restart?

i did experience a drain yesterday of 30% per hr out of the blue, mid day after topping tha batt offf....reboot fixed it
I have recently started having the same problem. The watch used to last until 11PM and still be in the 30 to 40% range. Now by 3PM it is at 6% - and that's just using ti to tell time and receive notifications. If I use navigation it won't last to noon. Does anyone know how to track down the problem app or apps? The android wear battery monitor doesn't help. Its usage adds up to less than 100%

I've done several factory resets but no improvement.
Do you have ambient mode turned on? Do you have tilt to wake turned on?
That can make a huge difference.
I usually take mine off the charger in the morning at around 730. I usually do not put it back on the charger at home at night until midnight. At that time, I normally have between 40 and 60 percent remaining.
However, ever since the update, two or three, times, I would experience a sudden rapid drain part way through the day. I don't know what triggers it. But I go from a lot to almost nothing in virtually no time. If I happen to notice it, I do a restart and then all is good.
But for you, if ambient is turned off and tilt to wake is turned off, then what you are experiencing is definitely not normal.

Hello, yesterday I bought a new battery for my G3. The battery was brought in Hong Kong for $17 and it largely seemed authentic except minor differences at the back. When I placed it inside my phone it had 56% charge left so I fully charged it to 100%.
While unplugging it I noticed it was dropping off fast, straight to 97% with barely two minutes. Then after restarting the phone it was down to 84%. After an hour and a half of usage, the battery was at 29% and it just died. Trying to switch it on it showed 0% charge. Perplexed, I went through the process again, fully charged it ... And again with barely 2 hours of usage at around 30 percent it died.
I really thought the battery was authentic and it seemed like it. I went through process to calibrate it, charging and discharging but it doesn't seem to work.
Anyone has an idea what the problem might be? Is it likely that the battery is defective or would it come good?
P.S - I have moved back home so returning isn't really an option for me.
Thanks in advance for the help.
If you never encountered such problem with original battery that comes with your phone, its possible that battery you bought is defective. Also it is very possible to broke your charging module with such battery. If I was in your place I would throw it away as fast as I can..
