Battery drain - Moto 360

Hi guys, I've bought yesterday a moto 360. I've updated it to the last firmware and linked it to my phone.
Today it was charged 100% and now (after 5 hours) it was 0%.
Is that normal? I also turned wifi off
Inviato dal mio HTC One M9

Depends on what you do with it. When I tried to watch YouTube on my watch the batt drained about 20% in 6 minutes. Lol.
But if you did nothing like that, just normal use then it's not normal. Maybe restart?

I was working, so I only used it to see the time and read a few notifications. Nothing else
Inviato dal mio HTC One M9

i did experience a drain yesterday of 30% per hr out of the blue, mid day after topping tha batt offf....reboot fixed it

I have recently started having the same problem. The watch used to last until 11PM and still be in the 30 to 40% range. Now by 3PM it is at 6% - and that's just using ti to tell time and receive notifications. If I use navigation it won't last to noon. Does anyone know how to track down the problem app or apps? The android wear battery monitor doesn't help. Its usage adds up to less than 100%

Mine did that when I updated. Did a factory reset and all was well

I've done several factory resets but no improvement.

Do you have ambient mode turned on? Do you have tilt to wake turned on?
That can make a huge difference.
I usually take mine off the charger in the morning at around 730. I usually do not put it back on the charger at home at night until midnight. At that time, I normally have between 40 and 60 percent remaining.
However, ever since the update, two or three, times, I would experience a sudden rapid drain part way through the day. I don't know what triggers it. But I go from a lot to almost nothing in virtually no time. If I happen to notice it, I do a restart and then all is good.
But for you, if ambient is turned off and tilt to wake is turned off, then what you are experiencing is definitely not normal.

I suspect this is what is happening to me. Any idea how to track down what is causing it?

Hope this helps

[Q] How to test if battery is fault

Hi guys.
I've got the one x some weeks ago, but I can trust that battery have so short life. I see in Battery Thread [ this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1579392&page=100 ] people with one x living for days and using this a lot. Mine not, not with Custom Rom or Kernels... I wish that is a problem of Htc and Tegra drivers, I wish that new bases can help me... But for now, how can I test if my battery is fault ? There is a test in android apps or something else? Please help me, thanks!
Make a full charge and then run battery test.
type this is keypad *#*#3424#*#*
then start your battery test and keep your phone untouched. Before doing this keep your phone in flight mode.
You should have left atleast with 88% percent battery after the test.
post your result here.
is it necessary to keep it in flight mode and what about wifi should that be turned off as well and what abt screen brightness?

Airplane turns off WiFi and app turn screen to 100, and anything over 70% is a pass if its under 70% then it needs to ne replaced.

i think il run this later, my battery is poor on stock, can just about scrape a full day, if i force myself to use light.
however i was using AOKP rom last week and battery was much improved. back on stock atm, a few to many bugs for daily use, atm.
does this test take long? im thinking when is best to do it? i need the phone on all day/evening, so i thought when in bed, but if it takes hours, il be asleep time it finishes, so il not know the out come. or do you get a report waiting for you?
so i it fails, how do you go about getting a replacement? contact HTC directly via web or instore where i purchased ? as EU Law says my *contract* is with the seller , not manufacturer, as the seller has the contract with them.

It feels like my battery keeps getting worse and worse. I did this test couple of days after i bought a phone, and the result was 93% after one hour.
Yesterday before going to bed, i restarted the phone, closed all running processes, and ran the test again, this time (two weeks later) my result was 86% after one hour. After finished the test, played with a phone for maybe 15mins (picking new wallpaper) and went to bed. In the morning i found my phone at 34%, i have never experienced such a big drain overnight before. So maybe this test is not too accurate at all. after picking up the phone and reading emails for 5mins, my battery goes to 21%... i am starting to think, that my battery is going worse.

if u seem to get an strange power drain, best rebooting, and it should kill any service that is going crazy.
if this is happening regular then the problem will be with the battery or like said above a rouge app.

[Q] Rapid Battery Loss & Rebooting Restores Battery?

So, my battery is wack... and I think it's only been acting like this since I went to a KK ROM? Maybe? Feels like it...
I've had this tablet since it was released last fall, and this behavior is very recent.
Anyways, it dies FAST. Like nose dives in a matter of 5-15 minutes. What's even weirder, is that sometimes, if I power cycle the device, it'll jump up by 30-60%. But then just dies again in another 5-15 minutes.
And there's a screenshot after I just power-cycled.
It jumped from 11% to 71%!!
Crazy!
I've also tried letting it get to 5% then charging it to 100%, done that twice. No luck. I don't know if this is related, but if I power it completely off, and plug it in, it turns on... kinda weird. My Note 3 doesn't do that, it just stays off and shows the battery charge indicator.

Hi, I have similar problem and I am with 4.3 android. I have battery loss when I play games. It drops to 2-3% really fast and after reboot it goes up to 35-40%. Once I fully depleted my battery and charge it. This time there were no battery lost. After the second charging problem persists.
If you manage to fixed it please tell us how.

I have a similar problem with my p600. the tablet is new, got it since a month or less.
at first i was amazed of the battery life i use it a lot for work writing documents and sheets on excel, battery used to perfom quite well giving me more than 5 hours of screen on, but recently the battery starts to drop very fast, now i can barely get around 2 hours of screen on.
i've already done 2 cycles of full discharge and then charge it completely with the tablet turned off. but the problem stills.
also sometimes when i reboot the tablet the battery goes from i.e 20% to 40% after the reboot.
im still looking for a fix or solution, today i found a new official firmware for my model (4.4 firmware for telcel mexico). going to wait until the tablet is fully charged and then flash the new firmware. I dont know if its going to help but i got nothing to lose.
by the way, sending it to semsung is not an option because of knox 0x1

Sorry to bump this, has anyone found a solution yet.
I've replaced the battery 3 times in about 9 months, but had this issue about a yr, was sent back to Samsung who changed the battery and supposedly updated the fw 4.4.2, I have since replaced the battery another 3 times every 3 months, each time either factory resetting or flashing a new rom, currently on official Smp600 5.1.1 BTU rom, today my battery was on 47%, I plugged in charger and was watching/streaming a movie on it, about 80 minutes later the tablet shut off, which was odd it's never powered off while on charge, powered it back on and battery said 19%, my previous issues has been the same as others, it can be on 100%, play a game, or stream a movie,or watch youtube etc and it will nosedive dramatically 20/30% at a time, sometimes within 10 mins it's gone from 100% to less than 30%, it's clear there's some sort of issue if others have it, I was wondering if a thread should be made to list ppl with this issue to see how many there are and go from there.

I've been having the same issue for some time now. Calibrating the battery does help, I don't experience the problem nearly as much after calibrating it. But it'll still nosedive on occasion, maybe once a week. This is the app I use to calibrate it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration

Problems after 5.0.1 update

I updated a couple of days ago to the android wear 5.0.1 OS and the latest android wear app...
Great work was done on the watchface API. Watchfaces are now more organized and accessible..
The biggest problem I'm facing now is the huge Battery Drain.
Watch can no longer last through the day.. I put it on at atound 6:30 in the morning.. At 2:30 PM, I'll be down to 15%.
What good is a watch if it can't last a normal day?
I think i might have jumped on the android wear wagon too soon.
Now I'm stuck with a useless device in my wrist.
Do you have a lot of 3rd party apps for the watch? I"m just guessing but it could be that these 3rd party apps aren't optimized to work with 5.0.1. Perhaps you could remove those apps and see how it goes.
And I assume that you've already done a reset?
I've made it through about 16 hours and am down to 46%. What are you doing to run it down so much? I have wrist activation turned off and ambient mode turned off. I do have Facer running with a watch face that gives weather and battery stats, but that's the only thing that would drain my battery.
I have not reset... I have two third party apps.. A compass and phone lost detection..
I'll reset and feedback here.. Good advice man thanks.
I have the same problem once i got the update even facer also updated battery life is bad again
Im having the same problem also. But after turn off BT a night, next day turn in again, the problem fix magically. Problem now is sometimes having difficulty to charge it. Need to turn off BT again then only can fully charge. Btw, didnt reset after system update.[/QUOTE]

Same thing happened to me. I usually take my watch off the cradle around 8am and get home from work around 6pm. Usually have about 60% life remaining. I'm using just the built in digital watch face. Today was my first full day on 5.0.1 update and my watch died before 3pm. I can't believe it. Hoping it's just a fluke. Think I'll go one more day and if it happens again will try a reset.

The reset did improved the battery performance for me.
I don't see any harm in resetting as this is a watch after all, so little will be lost.
However, the battery performance surely improved but it did not return the watch to the same battery performance as before the update.
I used to pick up the watch at 6:30 AM and put it on the dock at 11:30 PM with 48-50 percent left.
Now I pick it up at 6:30 and put it on the dock at 10 PM with 15 percent left. But it's still surely an improvement before the reset and after the update (I got only 5 hours before I decided to reset)
I still haven't installed ANY third party apps at all. I can only imagine how the performance will decrease if I install phone lost detection or any other Bluetooth-demanding apps.
i am finding that i'm getting slightly less battery life, but i make it through the day fine. i'm starting to wonder how much the accelerometer is killing battery. they finally integrated the option to disable "tilt to wake" and i have seen an improvement only at work where moving my hands on the keyboard. on the weekends, when i'm just wearing/walking, etc., tilt to wake makes no difference.
I got the latest 5.0.1 update on my watch seem like battery life is back! Im at 65% and its 4pm I removed it from the charger at around 5am .
My previous problem was I had the 4.4w on my watch and Facer that was on Android 5.0 . That was the reason for the bad battery life.
I've been on 5.0.1 for a couple days now and while battery life seems unchanged to me, the watch does seem to have a hard time charging to 100%. I got home from work and put it on the charger and usually it charges to 100% within an hour. Now I noticed it would get to about 85-90% and stop charging completely. The blue circle charging screen stays on but it doesn't keep charging. I left it on the charger all night and it was at 86% when I picked it up in the morning. Anyone else seeing this issue?

I have pretty much the same issue with my Moto 360, except in my case I only get to 75~78%, less than yours. I've been googling here and there about this one, but so far no luck with fixes or workarounds. I've e-mailed Motorola and, although I don't except a lot from them, hopefully they get back to me with something useful.
i think i noticed this also! hovered around 85% -ish.
i just took it off the charger, put it back and then it has not happened since. this was a couple days ago.

[Q] Problems with month old LG G4

Oj oj people
I've got a bit of a problem with my G4, which is with me around a month and it is fun to use it.
The model is H815, I'm from Cro, Europe.
However..... I do have Greenify, LeanDroid, very little aps installed, only one game, screen brightness is at around 45% and when not in use Data and Wifi are turned off.....
So first week it was so so with battery life, after around week and a half it all went to be quite good, BUT, it the last 3-4 days the G4 has been acting... strange to say.
Usually even if I had Wifi turned on and even if I was connected to any of my nets, over night, let's say 8-9 hours, it went from 100% to 100% maybe 99 in few days but nothing serious, so it was pretty great stuff, also respond was great, in less than a second to say.
Now.... even with turned off Wifi over night, 8h, I lose like 4% of battery, which is kinda 4 times as much as before and I have no idea what's going on. I do have google play games, cuz of PVZ2, and I had to update both the game and that app to play it, but when I'm not using it, they are turned off, force close if I have to, as well as other few google thingys.
Next is, when I opened sms tab it took him like 3 sec to figure out what is happening, the screen was black with only bottom 4 buttons, (back, notification, main screen and multitasking). Happened 2 or so times
So as you can see, I didn't start to use any other new app or something heavy drain and I don't know what it is that's draining the battery faster. I don't use it heavily but it's rather weird as to what is going on.
Also before I forget, in the last few days, the G4 would heat up rather nice, and I don't mean when I'm playing the game with wifi on or shooting 1080p videos, it could be just few mins web browsing and it became rather hot. Didn't scrape of my fingers but it also wasn't "normally" warm so yea.
I don't let my battery to go below 35-30% and charge it to full plus leave it for around 30 mins longer as I've red somewhere that it helps prolongs the battery life in general.
So if any of you would know what is going on or would help me with it all (even reading my "essay") I would be most grateful
Cheers
Ok so you wrote such a log post to describe a "problems" that you have. And your first problem is you lost 4% overnight?
Second problem is your phone hiccuped for a moment when you open the SMS app? No way the G4 sputtered a bit
I don't really see what problem you're having
Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
Yeah, I stopped reading after I realized the issue was that the phone used 4% overnight..
I would try rebooting the phone to fix the battery issue.
The stock LG sms app is pretty bad imo. After I imported all my messages (few thousands), it felt like I had the phone for 2 years already as it hiccuped. You can try an alternative like Textra which hasn't hiccuped on me yet.
Asides from that, not much you can do without root if you dont want to do a factory reset. I say live with it. 4% isn't bad at all
Do remember that the phone displays 100% for longer than it should.
With the same drain on the battery, you might drop from 100% to 99%. But if you started at 95%, maybe you would see it drop to 91%, under the same conditions.
So if you did not start at 100% one night, that could contribute.

Sudden severe battery drain?

Watch died mid-day today
Weird, my watch has been awesome...until today. Usually I can go 6 AM - 6 PM and still be 35-45%.
Today sometime around 2 PM I noticed the watch was dead. It won't even turn back on.
The funny thing is, another guy at work also has one, his did the same thing today!
And he usually gets 18 hrs + of battery life as well.
Anybody else experiencing sudden severe battery drain in the last couple days?
Same here.
From a few days ago, my moto 360 went from lasting all day, to lasting till about 3pm. I have changed nor installed nothing. I look at the watch about 10 times a day, I get notifications on the watch about 10 a day (facebook messages, skype messages etc), and get 1 or 2 calls a day (which makes it vibrate). This has not changed either.
So now the watch is useless, unless I carry a charger around with me.

It's happened to me once or twice, randomly. No idea why. Just happened the other day -- next day was perfectly fine.
Yeah, today after 16 hrs I was still at 50%!

My theory is that battery life tends to drain more when there is an update to Google play services, thus resulting in a mismatch between watch and phone versions of this app

I agree, battery life on my Shamu has been all over the board lately with play Services being the culprit.

I've had my Moto 360 2015 for about a week now and it usually gives me 2 days of battery life, but two days now it seems to be draining overnight, I go to sleep with it around 50% and wake up to have 15%.
It wasn't two nights in a row, so I'm thinking something is randomly running in the background (haven't installed any extra apps).
The only thing that occurred to me was that maybe the heart rate monitor keeps trying to run while the watch is flat on my night stand... does that make any sense?
Thanks

Possible, but not likely. On my first gen it can sit on my dresser and if I bump the dresser in the dark I'll see the heart sensor light up. Do you live by train tracks or something that shakes the place and would wake it up? ?

Past 3 days my watch has been taking a battery nose dive around 6 hours in... Life seems normal up till that point, and if I look at the battery life in the wear app, it shows it taking a dive. When that happens, usually I get less than an hour before it's dead. If I look at the apps which seem to be using battery, Message+ shows up using 30%. Not even sure how to disable that (or if I should). I now have to wait until I get home tonight to recharge and see if I can reset the watch...
