Android 8.1 not sending MMS messages - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

After updating to Android 8.1, I cannot send MMS messages.
I did research and noticed this was an old bug, but wanted to see if anyone else had encountered or resolved? I am on the final image released yesterday.

I'm running into the same problem. Currently on the phone with my carrier to see if they can fix it, but it sounds like it may be the 8.1 update that's causing the problem. I just updated myself to 8.1 last night/this morning.

My wife had same problem. She ended up installing different SMS app as her default and now she can send and receive. Wonder if that would also work for you.

Try clearing the data and cache from the settings.

[Q] HELP! SMS (Hangouts) not working

My phone is an SGH-I747M, I'm currently rooted and running CM11 nightly from last night. TWRP for recovery. Everything has been working fine since I rooted and upgraded a couple days ago. Until suddenly this morning, Hangouts decided that I couldn't send or receive any messages. I can type the SMS or MMS but as soon as I press send, it freezes, closes and tells me "Unfortunately, Hangouts has stopped."
I tried to download a third party SMS app, to no avail. Nothing would verify my phone. I tried to clear the cache. I tried to update to the most recent nightly. Nothing. There was a thread where messages not sending was fixed by turning off an option in Google Voice+. I have Voice+ in my Settings>Apps but I don't have it as an accessible app because I'm in Canada.
I desperately need some help here as I've exhausted all available options. Hoping somebody has some insight for me??
I'm really hoping somebody can help me out on this one.
Anybody?

FIXED!
So I'm not entirely sure what the problem was, I booted in safe mode but it still didn't work. I decided to flash 2.6.3.0 recovery for Canadian phone. I wiped the phone and reinstalled everything, back to CM11 nightly. I was then able to receive texts, and Hangouts finally verified my phone number. All I had to do was update my phone's SMSC back to MTS factory and TADA!! Everything works just fine now.
So this doesn't really answer any questions, but at least it solved my problem.

"couldnt download mms"

Hey guys. I recently rooted and install Viper One's ROM. Whether this is an issue with the ROM or not, I need to get it fixed. Im using hangouts and whenever someone sends me a picture (MMS) I get the error "Couldnt download MMS. Touch to retry" but it never actually downloads the MMS.
Anyone know how to fix this?
I already tried messing with my APN and that seems to be fine.

Camera issues after android Pie update

My camera encountered a fatal error after Android Pie update but I'm still able to use Snapchat. I'm using a brand new Pixel 2 Xl and right after I updated to Pie yesterday I haven't been able to connect to my stock camera. Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Try clearing data/cache
Then force stop
Then reboot phone
What he said in the post above. Had the same issue on DP4. It fixed it. Reboot after you clear.
I had the same issue. I didn't think about clearing the camera app cache. I flashed the factory stock 9.0 image, and the problem disappeared.
I've done all of the above I cleared cache and data with a restart I also updated OTA if that wasn't mentioned. I've also done a factory reset with Android Pie and still getting the crash prompt.

Not cool
Sounds like a hardware issue now.
I have this issue also and no fix with it, it's hardware, at least on mine, I have try a couple things, wiping, deleting, flashing, restoring, even downgrade to Oreo and still freezing and rebooting when try to open the app and camera.
This start to happen when I update to September update.
I contacted Google support and the most rare question it was; What was the camera app version I have?ñ mine is 5.3 I said, so then he/she told me that is going to send me a replacement.
I am thinking that they know what this issue is and probably there's no fix for it with the software, only change the camera or whatever is the problem with the board.
Here are some screenshots:

[Lineage 14.1] Cannot send MMS messages, can receive them sporadically

I am unable to send images or videos over text. They will simply try to keep sending until it times out and fails. I am able to receive images and videos from some recipients, but not others.
I am currently using Ting, and I have double-checked all APN settings.
This has been an issue since I installed Lineage back in July. I have updated to the latest version and the problem still persists.

OP5T Camera stopped working after system update

Hi all, So I updated my OP5T on the weekend to the new OxygenOS 10.0.1
However I have not been able to get the back camera to work after updating, I have cleared the app cache and data and even performed a reset. I am 100% sure its related to the update. How do I roll back the update or fix this. I have been searching for info for a long time now but cant find anything. Anyone else having the similar issue or can offer any advice here?
Thanks
