firmware update

i just purchased my dropad a8 but 2.3.3 but its kind laggy so i wwant to change firmware....when i was trying to update an error came...signature verification failed installation abort ....ivebeen trying so many different firmwares and got no luck.....any help for installing firmware??? ty
.....need root or what if yes whats the process ty

Hey guys, hoping you can help me. Still kinda new to Android well the Xperias anyway. I rooted my cousins phone for him using this method here. After I rooted I got the error with the Sim card which I've heard is quite common. I then followed this guide to get the sim working again, this sim is working fine now but I'm stuck on 2.3.2 now and when I try flashing 2.3.4 I get errors in flash tool. Any idea how to fix this? should I just re-lock the bootloader and then try updating OTA?

Try formatting the partitions with fastboot first. It's what i did when i got a flashtool error and it worked. Be warned though if you format device and flashtool still gives error's you will need to find a system.img and kernel before device will boot again.

[Q] Difficulties Upgrading to Lollipop

Hi, first of all I want to say that I am relatively new to android and therefore only have a basic understanding of everything. My desire EYE is currently on 4.4.4 rooted and have been having problems upgrading it to 5.0, I know I have to unroot and return to stock in order to be able to flash the stock recovery and be able to then flash lollipop on there. Problem is whenever I flash one of the stock 4.4.4's found on here superuser installer is still there (even when I tell to TWRP to not install it) and when I got to the bootloader is still says that the software is Modified so am still unable to flash the stock recovery and get lollipop.
Can anybody help shed some light on this problem and possibly help me fix it?

Thanks for your reply but have already tried this and when I tried booting into the recovery menu it gave me the red triangle because I have modified system partition, and all my efforts so far to change it to official have so far been unsuccessful
In fact tried it again and it worked this time, however when I try and download the update on my phone a message pop's up saying my phone can't be updated because the software is modified and not official HTC firmware

Hello, Today i wanted to install Lineage OS 16.0 on my Phone and it shows me an Error in TWRP Recovery what shows: "Error applying update: 18 (ErrorCode::kDownloadPayloadPubKeyVerificationError)
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Now i have no OS and dont know what to do...
I have no idea what i should do now...

Hi
I don't have unlocked bootloader, so I can't help you more in that side.
However, I can help you in the "no OS" problem, because after 3 days I think that lineage isn't your main idea anymore
To flash stock firmware, even with unlocked bootloader, you have to use in your PC or "EMMA" tool by Sony, or newflasher.
You need stock ftf firmware to do that, easily downloadable in the link https://xpericheck.com/ .
If what abovementioned doesn't work, simply relock bootloader and perform a clean install via Xperia Companion (with your PC).
