Not asking for an ETA, but just wondering what we can expect in the future.
As of now, the only custom ROM in the Development section is the OOS-based FreedonOS.
A lack of AOSP-based ROMs is the only thing holding me back from using this as my daily phone.
I believe several groups are working on their AOSP firmwares for this phone. It's still pretty new and nobody wants to release a crap product out of the gate.
I know one very popular group for sure is (they're dirty ?).
I'm hoping for lineage and aospa support. Pretty sure lineage will reuse their oneplus5 rom. It's basically the same phone just with another display. With aospa we'll have to wait until the Oreo update is out. I don't expect anything new from them before that.
I am especcially waiting for Ressurection Remix
Slimroms is one of best aosp.
I'm definitely going to wait their release before op5t will become my daily phone.
As is for now 2017 op5t has less functionality than my nexus6.
GZOSP just added a dumpling section for devices so there's some hope for Validus. We'll have to wait for full development though since I don't think we'll have unified builds.

The device is what, 2 weeks old? You expect development to be at the level of a 3 year old device? You may need to lower your expectations a bit.

I personally tried make an RR build (Nougat)
Everything built fine except that the device doesn't boot (goes to fast boot)
Used the OOS Kernel source
I'm guessing the kernel needs boot image to be signed
If anybody is willing to help me out (devs only) please PM me

We'll probably have to wait till one of the core los devs gets this booting

i can tell you that the OnePlusOSS source / msmcortex_defconfig boots 14.1.
check your disk encryption config.
also use your own recovery and/or fastboot format userdata
some recoveries floating around don't have FBE right. don't trust recovery wipe

Hey everyone,
as some already noticed I've been spending as much time as possible within the last days to get Cyanogen Recovery fully working. The current situation is this:
* it boots and adb/internal sd are recognized
* formatting of all partitions works
* installing SuperSU.zip works
What is not working is the installation of other zips (e.g. FlyME OS) - those always quit after a while with the following error:
Code:
I:failed to verify against RSA key 0
I:failed to verify against RSA key 1
I:failed to verify against RSA key 2
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
I:verify_file returned 1
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
You can find the compiled version here for testing purposes:
http://visi0nary.de/wp-content/misc/recovery_p8000_booting.img
MD5Sum: fd3f4111103634ae6c27025c18489160
It can be flashed via
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery_p8000_booting.img
Please note that this is neither intended for daily use nor am I responsable if it bricks your phone!
Cheers!
Update I: Okay, as far as I can see this is intended behaviour in Cyanogen Recovery which ships with CM12.1.
If I knew what to look for, I'd help.
Hope someone can and will help you
I'm a bit confused about the title. You are obviously talking about Cyanogen Recovery, but CWM is the acronym for ClockWorkMod Recovery (which Elephone already ported to the P8000).

Yep, that was my bad. I meant CR and not CWM but can't change the title anymore. Turns out I can. I didn't know CR was THAT minimalistic so I ported it without knowing that it even lacks a backup function. I'm now working on TWRP.
About the port of Elephone: I think it's always better to build it from scratch mostly because I love things to be open source.
Hi, BlueFlame4,
Thanks for sharing. When I tried to fastboot flash, an error appears:

Not bad, at least it boots without kernel panics Gonna look into the init.*.rc files now. Thanks for that!
By the way, as a quick feedback I'm trying to get CM12.1 running (at least compiling and booting for now) in parallel to TWRP. I'll be quite busy the upcoming days so I won't be too active here but will rather spend my spare time developing instead of posting.

Great! What are the issues? I just pushed a commit that fixes the BoardConfig in regards of linker errors. Unfortunately my machine stopped building after 3 1/2 hours due to insufficient disk space so I guess I have to restart the compilation process after cleaning up. 128 GB SSDs are just too small these days...
Do you have time for an IRC talk the upcoming weekend?

Regarding elephone p8000 / MTK6753 CM12.1
Dears,
If you have info or resources about CM12.1 development on MT6753 / MT6735 or any device based on these SoCs plz share as I'm trying to build CM12.1 for P8000 K05tS_A .
I've more than 10 yrs experience in Linux (sysAdm) and I did build Linux Kernel and distros from source lots of time before with fair understanding of Linux kernel Arch. and hardware.
It's my first time to build android but I'm sure it will not be hard to do.
I would like to help and get helped .
Regards,
Due to several reasons I have stopped the deployment of the "monthly Update.Zip packages" !
Thanks for your understanding.
This thread will be used for the unified tegra-3.18 kernel only.
Twelve:

Eleven:

Ten:

Pie:
tegra-3.18_unified_dragon_kernel_p_v200310.zip
Oreo:
tegra-3.18_unified_dragon_kernel_o_v200310.zip
Changes/Features:
- Upstream to kernel version 3.18.140
- Various patches and security updates
- Added Wireguard support
- Added/Enabled various file systems (exFat, NTFS, Network Filesystems .. etc.)
- Changed kernel config to enable/improve support for varioius services (tethering .. etc.)
- Added "fix cpu frequency limitation"
- etc.
Installation:
1. Boot into TWRP
2. Install the Kernel Update.Zip file
3. Reboot into system .. no need for SuperSU / Magisk !
The package contains an Image.fit kernel binary only - and no ramdisk part !
This way the kernel should run on all available Android Oreo/Pie/Ten ROMs for the dragon device.
And there is no need for a new SuperSu/Magisk installation afterwards, unlike to "full boot.img" installation.

Sorry, I can not reproduce your problem.
Tested the system_vendor udapte.zip several times on my Pixel C.
No problem so far ...
You flashed the complete .zip via TWRP ?
What was your previous firmware level ?
Did you upgrade bootloader as well ?
What kernel do you have in use ?
EDIT:
Which Version of TWRP ?
Pls use xceed version for now.
The NYChitman1 version seems to have problems.

I am running the new kernel on latest M stock release .. MXC89F.
No problems so far .. really stable.
The kernel should run on all stock M releases for PixelC.
Used latest stock ramdisk to build the kernel .. maybe the dirty unicorn ramdisk is different.
But the actual kernel should work as well ..it's a dragon kernel.
Repack DU ramdisk with my kernel and it will most probably work as well .. maybe even with the same ramdisk, without repacking. Needs to be tested ..
Give it a try .. it will not hurt.
Cheers

MultiROM for PixelC would be really nice .. the chromeos is part is maybe tricky.
But like SuperSU .. automatic chromeos image unpack and repack, if required at all.

Works fine

I am wanting to dig into the Linux4Tegra side of this, and was hoping that some of the work for multirom could or had been done. I don't know anything about the chromeos bootloader. Looking into it, Chrubuntu might be a viable path for this. I feel like this device is gimped with Android.

I had been keeping up with the chromeos-3.18 branch upstream, but I realized that a majority of the commits do not even apply to Dragon -- so it wasn't all that worthwhile to have in the majority of cases. With that said, I decided to go back to the MXC89F source until the next batch of source is released in June.

Based on the fact that this is NOT my work as stated above, I'm NOT at liberty to tell you. No offense. I would contact xda member edmontonchef and ask him. He's the one who sent it to me. I would like to think this wouldn't be a issue because if it was mine, I wouldn't care, but it's not.
This is my build.
Device tree is based of DU trees (r11x branch) and vendor (also r11x)
Kernel is flar2 kernel with wifi merged in.

Oh yeah! Would love to see that. I'm ready to hop from my pixel 3xl once there's a non gapps ROM available
New build updated in OP. Thank Senior Member ny-hardcore for this.
Changes: Lineage sources and kernel updated with latest google update. The boot.img was updated in the payload to eliminate a second boot flash after sideloading rom for working WiFi. Please report any bugs that I may have missed. Also, I never dirty flash over anything. They more than likely cause problems. I did a clean install of this. If you are on the previous build of this, I DO NOT recommend dirty flashing it.

Flashed and running well. WiFi worked right away. I noticed the boot.IMG in the op has stock recovery so I used the derpfest boot.IMG for flashing instead.
Also it's still November ASB?

I haven't been able to check everything out. One thing I just noticed is that I am unable to pass safetynet with it but not a big deal for me.

I'm just curious whether anyone has already compiled the AOSP for A13 and booted it. I noticed it had already been done/tested on OP5/5T, but wasn't sure if it had been done for P6P. I plan on trying my hand at it, but wanting to know what others may have experienced before I commit my slower internet connection to downloading the Repo.
GrapheneOS has test builds up for A13, which should be buildable using the normal approach. Also hardened with some extra security features.
Yes, on ArrowOS, temp issues however that was same day arrow started updating to 13, have not run a build since. Evolution X reboot a few seconds after setup screen loads, does not boot without gapps either.
I have tried for several days, but I'm missing something
It's a custom rom for personal use. A12.1 booted and worked perfectly but 13 reboots to bootloader

I flashed the bootloader and radio on both slots but haven't tried to change the current slot and flash the rom
But if I flash the official 13 release (only in the current slot) it boots, so, not sure if that's the problem. Anyway, I'll try it

Been looking at our github, you are using anayw2001 repo for your vendor files, remove the below from Android.bp. I had Restless nights with a poop load of testing thinking it was something with a missing lib file or so when i test anay's vendor files with lots of comparison to lineage extract tools that worked. Well if your getting bootonce-bootloader error that is as reason for bootloader load.

I was already using your vendor from gitlab (arrow branch). It did the trick, bootloader not triggered anymore
Still not booting but it must be related to rom sources, will take a look
Thanks a lot

Do a logcat during boot, will definitely help with that.

Question, to build Evo and Arrow, are you using your adevtool vendor or the other one?

hi guys,
@Schnedi what gapps package are you using for prime?
And does udfps work on your raven with your prime base?
Well, after a dozen of test builds, I finally made it work
Still have to fix things tho

I'm using this one: https://gitlab.com/spkal01/android_vendor_gms/-/tree/pyro
But removed some apps that can be installed from the store (drive, youtube, gmail, photos...)
Also, latest commit from fw/b fixes udfps
There's just a few features, I just pick the ones I use, didn't build prime to share it, so I'm not picking all of them. You can always fork the project and pick some features you use, PM me if you need any help with it

Hi folks
Since some of you asked me to make another thread for my TWRP build, here you go, the kernel is based on EWB5 (A13) but is compatible with all currenlty released Android versions.
WARNING/DISCLAIMER: Since the outer display isn't shut down this build can cause irreversible screen burns if used extensively. As such I take no responsabilities if you damage your device while using my TWRP build (and/or) other projects that may suffer from the same issues.
Edit: after some time the "screen burn" disappeared, so it seems that it's just a remanent image. In doubt stick to the warning.

So just push it as the recovery to the active slot via adb?
Breaks dex? If Not its kompatible with latest one ui?
It doesn't break dex, you can backup your recovery partition, it should be compatible with latest Android, since recovery is contained

q2q is SM-926B?
google didnt know anything about "q2q samsung"
Can you try, If not working, only re install the recovery stock and vbmeta too
The other thread cites CVCA as a basis, but all I can find in the TWRP revision q2q-5337227142 in each. Is there an older build out that works better w/ BL 1, not 3?
