I bought 3 cases for my xl 2, and although the other two were nice cases, they weren't diztronic cases. The first one i bought was this ringke case, and it was a pretty solid case, though it was a little slippery and the texture on the back meant my popsocket wouldn't stick to the phone. The second one i bought is this one by a chinese company called x-level, it was a really interesting super thin tpu case, and was nice but didn't have a lip to protect the screen and was a little too thin for my liking(and my popsocket didn't stick to it well either).
After trying these two and them not working out, I did what I always do, I ordered a diztronic case which I received yesterday and it is perfect, just like every one I've had previous(Nexus 6, 6p, xl 1). Diztronic and Cruzerlite were the only companies I trusted with tpu cases and I used to swap between the two throughout the year, and now that Cruzerlite is gone, looks like my first and only choice from now on will be Diztronic, and you know what? I'm perfectly okay with that. Honestly, they are one of the best case manufacturers out there, consistently great products at a great price. The only thing I could complain about is the looks of their cases are a bit bland but I'm just accepting that functionality is more important.
I bought a diztronic case for my Shamu which I still carry on me and the only time it wasn't in the case was just to clean it every once in a while. I'm probably going to buy one for my pixel but just waiting to see if they come out with another variant with more corner protection.

5x to pixel now pixel XL 2..these cases never disappoint...
I swear by Diztronic. Put them on all my phones and recommend to everyone. I've won over a bunch of friends and coworkers who were stuck with crappy, ugly cases.
Yeah, I want to see some photos with the device.
Especially the thinnest side of it.
How is the grippy feeling? good grip?
DO you guys know if popsockets stick to the diztronic cases?
this probably doesn't apply for users of clear cases, but i used to swear by diztronic until i found caseology - much better build, fit, and drop protection while still remaining slim

Looking to get the slimmest case I can. What's the best slim hard case? I had the ringke slim for my nexus 5 and liked it. Looking for something like that for my Moto x. Thanks.

I used the Incipio Feather for the past 2 years and loved it, but decided to give one of these a go. They are both the same just with a different name sticker. Build quality seems similar to the Feather. Overall, very happy.

I got the black smoke one they have on the Motorola site. I think its made by Incase. I found it on amazon for cheaper so I bought it there. Its not really black and more like clear smoke. I have the dev edition so it looks good and you can still see through the back and it has that soft touch feel that the ringke slim has on my galaxy nexus. I also like that it does not cover the M dimple on the back.

I have the same one and I like it a lot but I miss the dimple
The power support shell is slimmer than the in case and comes with an anti scratch coating. The shell is nice in that there are no seams on the inside so it has less chance of scratching your phone. Haven't had the chance to really test it as I'm waiting for my moto x replacement but I'll snap some pics afterward. If you are into the hard minimalist case big don't want to introduce scratches, this seems the best option for now.

Received Anker case. Despite being sandy texture, the case is very slippery.
It also does not protect all corners. Highly disappointed, because its look is very nice.
Why don't all cases have the moto indentation on the back confuses me.
i bought both the poetic pallete and the bear motion cases. of the 2, i like the bear motion better with the grippier texture. However, that said, neither fit my phone well at all and won't stay locked into place. YMMV
I have bought the anker sandpaper, incipio feather, poetic, as well as two bumper cases from some HK-based vendor. Of the 3 minimalist "cases", I use the incipio the most. Truth be told, the poetic has a better (but nearly identical) texture to it, but the bottom is shaped in such a way where it digs into my small finger when holding it (I have my finger running parallel along the very bottom). If the incipio kept the dimple, it'd be my daily driver. I use the bumper cases more often than not and whenever I do grab one of the minimalist ones, it's always the incipio.

I have the Incipio Folio which includes a feather. Basically, you have a the feather case, and then you can snap that into a wallet style flip case. The only gripe I have about the feather is it contours to the phone too well... If you have the phone on a flat surface it just spins and flops around if you poke at it.
I bought the Nexus 5 and it's amazing. I've already got a screen protector but now I'm still looking for the right case. My first choice was the official bumper case but that isn't an option anymore because it isn't only unavailable at the moment, but most of the people also say it starts to peel off very quickly. So I kept looking for a case that could satisfy my needs. I want to have a good-looking case that delivers the protection the N5 needs, but doesn't add too much bulk so it wouldn't look like some kind of dragon. I also want to mention that I'm not looking for any kind of flip cover because a phone is a phone and not a book.
So after some research I've come down to 2 cases that both give a good impression. Spigen Case Slim Armor and Spigen Case Neo Hybrid. They both have a fairly good reputation so I really can't decide which one to get. I also don't really know the difference. I guess they are the same in thickness. The Slim Armor one probably has better protection and from what I've read isn't as slippery as the Neo Hybrid one, but that case probably also has nice features.
Which one should I get? Or are there better cases available? Thanks in advance!

I have bought like a whole load of cases and found that my favorite case is a simple TPU case like Distronic's cases (I like the black one, the white/clear/frosted design gets discolored over time) they don't make the phone overly bulky, provide pretty good drop protection and are pretty cheap. I have owned Spigen's slim armor and the slim armor with the flip cover and while they are great cases they made the phone a little more chunky than I liked.

+1 for diztronic
It adds fairly good protection but less bulk than most cases(not counting hard shells). Buttons are easy to press and it looks and feels good. It's cheap too!
I've also had spigen neo hybrid but found it too bulky and slippery. Buttons and looks were nice tho.
Btw clear diztronic is out of stock and they dont sell it anymore.
I'd stay away from hard cases such as the ringke slim or spigen hard crystal shell as they scratched up my phone
+1 for soft
Go with the slim armor. One of the best cases I've had, and I've had A LOT of cases. Its a lot more comfortable to hold over the neo hybrid.

My favorite case by far is the Magpul Field. https://store.magpul.com/product/MAG474/cases
Magpul looks awesome dude. Not those clear backs. My ringke got scratched up real bad. Neo hybrid looks decent, in fact I'm getting it. Considering a diztronic as well. I-blason is decent too.
I haven't got the specific Spigen cases you're interested in but I do have the Spigen ultra fit and ultra hybrid. I have been using both cases for the past year (the ultra fit mostly because it doesn't add as much bulk as the ultra hybrid) and both are very good cases that I like. However, I recently ordered the Diztronic case and I'm waiting for it to arrive. The reason is I recently used my previous phone with a Diztronic case and it reminded me that I generally prefer good quality TPU cases more. So I decided I may as well get a Diztronic case for my Nexus 5. As you may see, I agree with the others in recommending the Diztronic case.
I have the Spigen Case Slim Armor, a Tech21 case, and a TPU case, I prefer the Tech21, as a matter of fact I dropped my phone just the other day, and it landed flat on it's back, I thought for sure the screen would be shattered, but nope, all is well.
The Tech21 seems to have more of an "Air cushion" between the case and back of the phone.

Well, I have a pretty cheap one at the moment, this one (it's indeed not a very pretty one). The case barely adds any bulk but it doesn't give the safest feeling. I'm protected for any scratches but I don't think these kind of cases absorb impact very well, so I'll probably still go for something chunkier but then I'll at least know I'm pretty safe.

These cases are probably really well-made but I don't think they protect that good if you compare it to the bulkier cases, definitely not against drops.

I love them too. Very good feel in hand. I don't know it until I bought one. I know the Official one now unavailable but still we have a lots high quality one in eBay. Not OEM, but still very good (even similar if you ask me)
I'm using spigen case
i get it for free from Nexus gift pack
It's nice, and it feels like the original back of nexus
Had both the Neo Hybrid and the Slim Armor and prefer the Neo Hybrid.
I found that in comparison to the Neo Hybrid, the Slim Armor added too much bulk to the phone. The back of the NH feels better (rubber, a bit like the original back of the phone) while the back of the SA is more slippery (metal). The buttons on the SA required too much force to press and you don't really feel any feedback while pressing.
The only reason I would choose the SA over the NH is for the extra protection, but for me the NH offers more than enough protection (dropped it a few of times indoor and outdoor, only some minor scruffs on the corners of the case).
Didn't Spigen used to sell just the outer band for the neo hybrid? That way you can have a few different colors if you like
Both look pretty good. Which are you guys going with?
I have both and I really like the bellroy case. This is the first leather case I've ever had and I've got to say it feels good in the hands. Not a lot if bull either and I like how it covers all the edges instead of the fabric case being open at the Port. This year's fabric case however feels much nicer then the pixel 2 one. I feel the cases both add about the same bulk so either way I think that's okay. The leather one is offers a little more grip thou. If you have a TGSP applied the cases sit flush with that so they both feel great.
Thanks for the info. I'll probably go Bellroy then.
I have both, and like both. I kinda like the fabric one better because it's different. Bellroy might be better protection as it has a slight front lip that is non-existent on the fabric.
One observation I have is that the fabric case feels and looks like a pair of jeans, the leather of course feels and looks like leather. This gives me the feeling of more expensive versus less expensive. Nor sure if this matters or if you'd get the same vibe but it's there for me.
I have both cases as well. I prefer the bellroy as it has a raise lip around the edges to protect the screen. Also to me for some reason the bellroy just fits my hand better and feels just slightly slimmer. The fabric case feels wider and the fabric seems less grippy in my hand.

In my opinion the Google Case is far to expensive, very poor protection due to the huge outlets, not covering the edges of the screen, cheap plastic.
All for 45 bugs.
You´ll get an ugly UAG for the same prize, bullet proof however.

I have the google case and don't think i will ever change it. Maybe not the best protection but i almost never drop my phone and the feel is premium and very good when you hold the phone. Very satisfied.

Love my nomad too! Expensive but great quality as far as i can tell!
I have both and like them equally. Both are slim and feel great. Fabric is improved over last year as I had one for my 2xl. The bellroy is also better after reading reviews from last year and seeing the improvements that the company made.
I just received a new case from simply carbon fiber and it's also sweet. Looks and feels great. So now I have 3 cases that I really enjoy and for a phone that deserves it.

I'm on the fence between the Nomad and the Bellroy. I've held the Bellroy and loved the feel and the leather wrapping around the sides, but the buttons were a little stiff. I've not seen the Nomad in person, but there appears to be more of a raised edge protecting the screen and it just looks more protective overall. I've heard the button feel is good and the leather looks more natural. I'm currently using a Google Fabric case which appears to have minimal protection, other than slight bumps and scratches on the back.

Sorry, but your link isn't working.
Anyone care for pictures of your cases? Most product pictures are touched and photoshopped... Interested in the Bellroy and the stock Pixel fibre case (carbon or indigo)...
I have the Bellroy leather case. It's ok...
However, I would suggest searching this case on EBay...
X-LEVEL For Google Pixel 3 XL Luxury Retro Leather UltraThin Back Case Cover NEW... it's 9 bucks, and is extremely well made. If you have ever seen the samsung slim leather case for the s10+, this is similar quality (samsung charges $50). I'll try to post an image...
I'm stunned at how nice this is.
Picked this up off of Amazon. The case fits well and has smoother cut outs than some of the previous Spigen cases I have had for the original Pixel. The older ones were a little sharp, not so with the new case for the 3 XL. The case is slick though, not fashionably slick, I mean slippery as hell, especially along the edges.
I'll probably keep looking for something more along the lines of UAG cases, but it will hold you over until you find the one you want.
i picked this up also and found it way too slick and bulky then found out they made a thin fit one that reminds me of the old Ringke's. It has a textured back but leaves the top and bottom of the phone exposed but i like it 10x more
Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
I totally agree that the side are quite slick. I'll prob. get a thin fit also.
I got the rugged armor. It totally hides the phone, but otherwise a great case.
Been using Spigen's Neo Hybrid range for years now. They're my favourite phones cases, price-wise and build quality-wise. If they incorporated some of the faux-carbon fibre elements from their Rugged Armor cases, then they'd be perfect.
Although I'm loving the overall in-hand feel of the 3 XL Neo Hybrid (rounder and smoother, much like the 3 XL itself), it is definitely slipperier than the Neo Hybrid I have for the 2 XL. I just have to remind myself to be extra careful when handling the phone. No biggie for me.
I'm a Spigen Slim Armor fan, but I just can't find it in black for the 3XL in Canada.
Might have to order a Tough Armor soon
To be brief, I purchased 6 cases. Each had its advantages. The best case is the Spigen Tough Armor case with built in kickstand. It is a dual layered case but you can insert and remove the case while both layers are intact. Great protection and styling. Buttons are nice. Not too thick. I wish the side edges were smoother but I can live with it. Got it from ebay for about $17.
My 2nd choice is the Diztronic tpu case. It is thin and light. Nice to hold with a matte coating. Screen is protected by the edges. Styling is nice and simple. Buttons are fine. Not as much protection as the Spigen case and no kickstand but I like it's simplicity.
It goes for about $13 on ebay.
I like to switch off between the 2 cases.
Just wanted to post my thoughts.
The first pic is the Spigen Tough Armor
The 2nd pic is the Diztronic. It may also come in a hard version.
Thanks for giving your opinion, there are too many cases and little ranks ;D
If you want a tough case; the Otterbox Symmetry is amazing. It has the standard Otterbox protection, without all of the bulk of a Commuter case. It's a nice looking case without all of the cartoonish angles and lettering. I like it better than the Spigen Tough Armor (which is a very good case, BTW). I was able to pick up a black Symmetry case on Amazon for $19 (prime).
There are literally dozens of cases for this phone. The one I want and can't find is the Zizo Bolt Series for the 2 XL. I've seen the reviews on that case - and I'd love to have one. They make them for the standard Pixel, the Pixel XL, Pixel 2, and Pixel 3 / 3 XL.... but I haven't seen one for a 2 XL - which is odd.
If you happen to find one, please link it in this thread.
Thanks
Im all about the Spigen Case, Its been a great case for me so far.
I've been using Diztronic for a long time, at least since my Nexus 4. It is hard to top. We got the Spigen Tough Armor case for my wife's Galaxy S7 and discovered it was too thick for our car vent magnetic holder. I assume same issue with Pixel 2 XL version? I was able to snag a navy blue Diztronic before it fully went sold out, unfortunately on back order though so who knows, currently says Arriving Tuesday on my Amazon order.
In the meantime, I have a Spigen Thin Fit. It freaks me out as it is really too thin on the screen side. it is a good compromise for folks that dont want a larger case though. It also has a built in hole for my magnet for my vent mount.
Only recently got my Pixel, but I have a history of being quite fussy about cases, as well as being stingy!
I bought a slim plain hard back cover, which was fine, but then found this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caron-Fi...var=553503155444&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
It's honestly perfect. covers everything except the screen, but adds virtually no bulk, you almost can't tell it's a case. Doesn't mark or fingerprint either.
