Hello Verizon V30 Users,
I am providing the full KDZ file for the Verizon V30, software version 10D, the latest available for the VS996.
You can download it from HERE !!
>> NEW DLL FILE REQUIRED TO FLASH!! <<
NOTE: The DLL for this KDZ is the same version as the one for software version 10C. I am including it in the archive for convenience but if you already have the DLL from version 10C there's no need to use this one. When a new DLL version is released, I'll have it available in future posts.
DLL INSTRUCTIONS: You must use LGUP to flash this. If you haven't upgraded your DLL file for LGUP, inside this same archive, you'll find a dll file named LGUP_Common.dll. Place that DLL file in C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\common. Just as a precaution, change the extension of the existing LGUP_Common.dll to .bak or something in case this doesn't work for you. After you put the new DLL file in that folder, open LGUP and in the very lower left hand corner of the window, you should see DLL Version 1.0.31.9.
Enjoy! If anyone has any questions, feel free to hit me up!

Hello!
I tried to update my Vodafone Branded G4 with the europe not branded version H81520g_00_0720.kdz
The problem ist i just get "error code = 0x2000, invalid command response" from the LGUP software and everytime i start the phone it is in firmware update mode.
Any idea how to fix this?
Greetings
I got this too as I tried to install H81520o_00_0310.kdz then I thought that it is maybe related to the brand. So I download your kdz file and then it was working.
So I would guess try another number is the best what you can do. I believe it is because of selection of "upgrade". If you have a tot file for refurbish, then maybe another is working, but I didn't do this yet.
Probably the problem is the DLL.
Extract the DLL from the KDZ (the one you want to flash) and replace it with the one you have in LGUP (path; C:/Program files/LG Electronics/LGUP/Model/8992).

Stuck with LG G4 (H81520i)
Same for me but with LG H81520i. I tried to flash these ROM* with their specific .dll that I extracted thanks to WindowsLGFirmwareExtract-1.2.5.0-Release. Always get "error code = 0x2000, invalid command response" from LGUP. The error is thrown at 16% on the computer, but at 7% on the phone. Now, I'm stuck in download mode. I also tried to change the COM port number, doesn't change anything.

Only one ROM above matches the LG H81520i (the fourth one).

I found a solution (after several hours)
Uninstall all your LG softwares (except LG Bridge or others LG backup softwares) and go to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\' to delete all folders and files.
Go to this link and click on "Download all". Extract the file and follow the instructions :
1) Install "LGMobileSupportTool.exe"
2) Install "LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.2.0.exe"
3) Install "LGUP_Install_Ver_1_14_3.msi"
4) Install "LGUP_8994_DLL_Ver_0_0_3_23.msi"
5) Move "LGUP_8994.dll" in the repertory 'C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\8994'
6) Open "LGMobile Support Tool" and click on "Install USB driver." to the left
7) Select "LGH815" (or your model) et follow the drivers installation steps
8) Do step 5) again
9) Shut off your LG and plug it to your computer while pressing volume up in order to enter download mode
10) Unplug your LG and the battery
11) Open "LGUP" and close it
12) Do step 9 again (download mode)
13) Open "LGUP", select "UPGRADE" and go select your .kdz file (the ones in the file that you downloaded or another one you have)
14) Click on "Start" and DON'T TOUCH !!!!!!

Thanks Lucas for your time and help. It didn't work for me. I flashed another ROM named H811V20r_00_0111.kdz and it worked like a charm and it's tested on so many devices afterwards which worked fine without a single issue.
Here is the link to the ROM: https://lg-roms.com/official-firmware/LG G4-LGH811VK/H811V20r_00_0111/

You need H81520p.kdz to downgrade from Nougat!
You can download from here: https://www.4shared.com/file/hfyqh6iEfi/H81520p_00_0314.html
Can also see here if you need more files: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76571471&postcount=23
Okay I'll try this but please tell me that
I have to copy lgup_8994.dll from H81520p or use original dll which is installed with the LGUP 8994 installer???

After install everything, replace the one in "C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\8994" by the given one (or extract from the H81520p.kdz file).

You first start your phone with any sim or sd card?
Try to flash it again with the v20p and restart it without any card on it.
If it doesn't solve the problem, try a v10a. Maybe it works and you can upgrade starting from there.
Good luck!
now again I tried H815v29A so it installed after the installation of old original version , now please tell the method of rooting Nougat on H815v29A urgently XDA experts???

1.- Download the KDZ v20p and extract DLL from there.
*KDZ v20p MM: Click Here
*KDZ Extractor: Click Here
(Rename LGUP8994.dll --> LGUP_8994.dll)
2.- Move the extracted DLL to the LGUP directory and replace the old DLL (Example: C:\Program files\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\8994)
3.- Now flash the kdz v20p, then you'll be able to flash any other KDZ.

i have tried flash kdz all day and nothing worked until i found this!
It works
It worked!!!!!!!
And it was the only solution for my day long softbrick and being stuck in download mode afler TOT upgrade to Nougat (7.0). I guess it's what you get for trying to recover from bootloop by trying to downgrade rather than following instructions
Thanks again!!
I did the same, applied the v29a update zip through twrp, and tried a downgrade with LGUP only to get the 0x2000 error no matter what I tried.
The above method works! I can't thank you enough, the_naxhoo

Do as it was told.
Get the v20p.kdz
Extract .dz and .dll from the .kdz
With LGUP flash using both files. Replacing the .dll on LGUP directory and selecting the .dz to flash.
Before start the flash process, open device manager and see if you don't have the yellow triangle on the device. If you do uninstall device (and its files) on device manager and refresh the device manager to see how is shown.
If you don't see your device as it should be, and without issues, change the drivers. Do this without disconnect the device. And keep device manager open to see if something changes until the end of the process.

I'm on the LG H810 with rollback version 3. Is there any way to get back to lollipop (or even to nougat) or am I stuck with this horrible fluffy delicious Marshmallow? I'm hearing both ways, but from what I've gathered I'm guessing I'm stuck in my tracks at this point, mostly due to my rollback being version 3. Please chime in with any helpful info/experiences. if you have an H815/H818 (I mean, without ARB), you don't need this method, just use LGUP to flash any KDZ.
This morning I deleted my system camera app and that made my phone bootloop. After some trickery I managed to install a new version but lost all my photos and files along with root. Can I get a tutorial how to create my own boot image with magisk so I can hopefully recover some of the photos. Thank you
Hey, there might be more ways, but this is the one I follow everytime I root my g7.
Download the firmware (.kdz file). You can get that here.
In the meantime (the download will take some time) you can search and download a tool called "LG Firmware Extract", mine is v1.2.6.1. If you struggle finding it, you can download the one I attached (for Windows).
Once both are downloaded, open the firmware extractor and there click "Open" next to "KDZ File" label and locate the .kdz file you just downloaded. You can also type in the file path instead of locating.
In the table of files below, check the largest file starting with G71030f and click "Extract KDZ"
In the working directory (marked as "Working folder ..." above the table) you should now find a file named after the file you checked. Locate that one on "DZ File" row by clicking "Open" next to it.
Now in the second table, find a file called boot.img_65286, check, Extract DZ.
The file should be in the same directory previous one (G71030f...) was. Rename it to boot.img.
Send the boot.img to your phone
Install Magisk Manager, open, click "Install magisk"
On method selection choose "select and patch a file" and pick the boot.img file and proceed.
That's it, you should be told where your patched image sits.
In case you want to skip steps 1 to 7, I attached a boot.img file. I also attached a patched boot.img, since I did it for mine, too.
BTW if you choose to download the firmware extractor from the attached files, you can find a short tutorial on how to extract boot image in a text file inside.
Hope it still helps you.
