Hey guys,
Got my one plus 5t yesterday, after using messenger for a while I started to notice uneven whites on my screen, and the top half appears to be slighly blue tinted.
I contacted OnePlus support about RMA'ing my product with the following picture attached.

I explained my issue and got this as a response
"I understand how essential to access your OnePlus 5T's display as smoothly as possible and I appreciate the time that you have invested in reaching us about your concern. The OnePlus 5T uses the same level of high-quality components as all OnePlus devices, including the AMOLED display. I'd like to note that it isn't a OnePlus 5T screen quality issue or screen special effect, but just a normal physical effect. For cases like these, we can only process a return request. In line with this, I have withdrawn your replacement request."
Am I being to picky about the display?
Thanks.
No, you're not being picky. That is definitely an issue and you should look in getting that replaced. If you sent a picture comparing it to other phones, they may process your request for an RMA.
Yeah, I might but I might just return it, not quite sure what other phone to get though, I really do love the phone bar the screen issue.
Any recommendations?
look's like screen issue like in first onpelus one, they also have thsi yellow problems on bottom of screen, but less then you show in your op 5t, i think you need to replace your model
Replace that straight away. That's horrible

I'm going to try take some more pictures in real world scenarios, could return it and get a friend to purchase me another one.
Otherwise I'll return it, maybe get the HTC U11+ but Ive heard bad things about their support.

HTC support isn't going to be any better or worse than one plus to be honest. It's pretty shocking there trying to say it's normal. It isn't. Uneven tints are the worse. Any phone with them goes straight back with me

Yeah definitely a faulty panel. There's no denying
How are you configuring the screen when you take these photos? I want to do the same with my 5T to see if I can reproduce (unlikely).
The last shot looks halfway decent, but the others make the screen look like crap.

Google chrome, remove all tabs,(should leave a dark grey screen) that screen with any brightness causes the issue. The white screen isn't as noticeable on camera, but when scrolling through messenger I can notice it.

Okay, just did this (had to hide nav bar) and mine is definitely not like yours. I think it's a bad panel for sure. I would return it and just buy again... This phone is just too awesome.

I seem to remember there being an issue with pink spots in the center of photos in some phones. I'd take it back to the store & exchange it if you're within your 2 weeks, otherwise call T-Mo & see about getting a warranty replacement.

it's too late i have had this phone for a month now,and just noticed this problem ,
been distracted with the faulty screen (vertical lines and blobs) for that issue i had to send the phone to samsung repair,
and now i have to deal with this issue,I don't even like to use this phone anymore !
so disappointed with samsung
so Does everybody think that it's a hardware problem ?
I just found out that the 1st device i got which i had to exchange because of the screen blobs had the same camera issue(pink patch at the center of the picture)while i was reviewing the pictures taken by that phone !

That's the white wall with Auto everything, no flash under fluorescent lights.
the reddish picture is no flash with fluorescent setting for white balance.
The one with bright spot is auto everything with flash on a white wall under fluorescent lights. I think the problem is with the software tries to adjust the white balance.
Deng you I just took a picture against a white wall and I have that issue also good thing I just got the phone a week ago,

Try the miui cam.apk on your phone and see if it makes a different.
i just performed a test and think others should try this. I noticed you guys took a pic of a white background or wall so i did same thing regular lighting no flash, and aimed at the wall i also seen the pinkish spot but as i panned my phone around it would fade away then come back as i panned. so then i took a still shot with flash off and had the same result as op. then i did the same thing with flash on and no pink spot at all. so i definitely think its a lighting condition that makes our phones show this weird shade or color. more light = no pink spot. but its weird cuz it seems to only happen on lighter backgrounds like a white wall and such. because that is the only time i ever noticed this anomoly. and ive took a **** load of pics of my 1yr old boy, and girls

i honestly dont see it as a big deal as this phone takes great pics
I used the miui cam still there , idk the issues on this phone are small and idk how I really feel about it haha I've only had this phone a week so far, came from a non issue g2x wich I was lucky

I see the pink spots at the center of the pictures under the day light ,and those spots turn greenish with the florescent light at night !
I think that affect the pictures quality ,
not sure what to do
Look here: http://pocketnow.com/thought/clarification-the-pink-spot-syndrome
Also note that sometimes it's green instead of pink.
I'm much more concerned about the blobs and lines.

The key difference is this camera issue can most likely be fixed in software, but the blobs/lines is probably a hardware issue.

Definitely a screen burn, image burn-in during charging...
(You can clearly see the charging ring burned into the screen)
That's not a good sign... but this is the first time I've seen or heard anything about this, so most likely just a defective unit.
Definitely get a replacement before it is too late.
Someone else posted something like this a while ago he got his from Google I / O. Apparently his developed screen burn-in pretty quickly as well. I'm hoping these are just defective units and not a sign of things to come for all of us.

That looks horrible.
I decided to stick it on the charger all night and its worse (ha!) I'm glad i went through best buy. I'm going in and politely demanding a prompt replacement. its odd, the display seems to have more jagged edges on the screen icons as well as a change in brightness since this problem started.
that sucks man, considering the shortage, I hope you get a quick replacement

Turning the screen off helps charge the battery faster too, don't know why Moto decided to leave it dim...
I called Motorola, they knocked 10% off and free shipping. Best buy couldn't order through their stock system on account of scarcity. I should receive a new one within 4 weeks. I hope it's still the grey band and not the stone leather one. I added more photos of how bad the burn in was.
Yeah, that's crazy. Definitely defective!
I actually liked having the display on all night on my nightstand and using it as a clock. Never had any Ill effects, though
Seems like a defective unit or there would be a ton of people reporting this. Sorry for your loss and I hope you get a replacement soon!
i thought it looked nice as well although it bathed my room in blue light that made it hard to close my eyes.

Nope people only post when they have issues. What would be the point of everyone with no issues creating a thread to say "my watch works fine"?
i honestly don't think he had a bad unit. i think that these screens are subject to burn in just like early plasma hd screens. he already stated that he left the watch on the charger for two days with a static image. that is a recipe for burn in on screens that are susceptible to burn in. after reading this thread i turn my screen off when the phone is on the charger.

I usually do the turn off your screen trick while on the charger to avoid all these.
I am hoping you can help me diagnose two problems with 2 G4's owned by my GF and me.
Similarities: Same device. Same software build. Same camera settings. Same screen brightness.
Differences: Phone on LEFT was purchased in August 2015, phone on RIGHT in June 2015.
Problem #1 Significant difference in screen color and brightness. The phone with the good camera is on the left. I believe the phone on the right has the better looking screen. Are most of the G4's warm or cold?
Problem #2: "UFO Effect" on night shots. Obviously sensor on top pics is better. But why? All of the camera settings are identical. The phones were placed right next to each other. Each photo shows halos around lighting. Auto mode, HDR Auto, Flash off.
Do we return one, or both? Thanks...

Yeah I second that. I took my G4 out last night for pictures to see if I could reproduce the issue. I was able to get a similar lens flare to that simply by having fingerprint oils on the lens. Cleaning it solved the problem entirely.
Man, here I am on XDA looking like a fool, it WAS a smudge even though the lens looked fine....
Before my posting abilities are revoked, I went to the VZW store about the screen tint and they offered me a replacement but it's "Certified Like New" because this happened at 25 days and not 14...
The other option is to ship my device to an LG warranty center where they attempt to "repair" it and if not, send a brand new replacement. This will take ~3 weeks where I will not have a device (my old phones are all GSM).
Anyone have experience with LG Repair or VZW "Like New"?
I lean towards the latter....as much as a used phone sucks, at least VZW admits it needs replacement. Who knows how LG will approach the situation.

I had a refurbished S5 which server me well until it sank under the weight of TouchWiz. I don't even remember why I had the S5 replaced though, lol.
Update - the Verizon store confirmed the screen issue (warm/yelow tint) and sent a certified like new replacement...which has EXACTLY the same problem.
I have looked at maybe 10 G4's now and all are normal except the 2 I received. So frustrating. Off to warranty replacement #2? Ugh
LG 's support has not been helpful at all. They don't understand English, and the only option remains shipping out for "repair" and waiting a few weeks.
And so it starts... LG's good ol manufacturing. I went through 5 LG G2's.. Was looking to get the g4, but not about to deal with this **** again..

Could you explain a little more about the difference in brightness ? how much brighter was the 'better' screen compared to the inferior one.
By more i mean if you had both side by side, with auto off, and just using manual brightness what was the difference in % level to get both screen to appear of the same brightness, to your eyes.

I find it happens with many devices. check the boards.
If you have the option of sending it in then that is good news. if you got as many replacements as you did that is even better news. I'm always amazed they agree to do this so many times.
The bad part is if buy from another country and no option to warranty at all or their service network is non-existent which can happen with some chinese phones.
Thanks for the detailed reply one twelve. I don't think the problem was brightness, but tone of the screen. I've already returned the devices so can't compare. I wonder if it could be fixed if LG let us calibrate the screen. Anyway, I'm sticking with the 3rd device. It's close enough, and a new one could present more problems.
Very disappointed in LG's support. I love their devices but it's a major negative in the next purchase decision. I agree, they'd probably just replace the screen...which is why I wanted a replacement.
Several /r/hwatch users are reporting a red tint on the screen even when it's supposed to be off (completely black pixels). Support tickets have been open but unfortunately there's no line to actually reach Huawei for support, only 3rd party call center (Knoah).
Are any of you experiencing this? Currently it seems to affect ALL Huawei Watches. See below for details.

Yup, did the test with a black watch face I did on Pujie, and I could indeed see a red cast when I went in a dark room. What would be the impact of this? It doesn't seem noticable except when you put on a completely black screen. When the watch face times out.. then it is completely black....

1. Ambient mode drains more battery than it should.
2. Risk of red pixel burn-in.
3. All images and watch faces are slightly more reddish than they are supposed to be causing it to look bad.
4. Dim faces on black backgrounds will have much lower contrast than they should making it difficult to read (like Wear Charge Widget)
5. For many, the Watch is their first Huawei device and first exposure to Huawei support which so far is proving to be pretty terrible. They have a 3rd party call center in the US (Knoah in Vegas) and no way to contact a Huawei employee directly to report the issue or understand what is causing it (is it hardware or software). What/if there is a fix. They have suggested swapping out the watch but so far all watches seem to be affected.

Same. I knew something wasn't right when I turned it on. Hangout contact images looked terribly over saturated and unnatural. And even in ambient mode, I could tell blacks weren't black like an OLED should be, putting out more light in a dark room watching TV. Huawei said it was only affecting a few devices and they'd swap it out but never did. So I bought another one overnight from Amazon and same issue.
Trying to raise awareness so Huawei will take it seriously because right now I think they are shrugging it off since they are the best reviewed smart watch.

Huawei said it was only affecting a few devices and they'd swap it out but never did. So I bought another one overnight from Amazon and same issue.
Trying to raise awareness so Huawei will take it seriously because right now I think they are shrugging it off since they are the best reviewed smart watch.

It might be my first and last huawei product if they don't take it seriously.

Strange, I was thinking same thing. Hopefully it does, that would get huawei's attention.

6P isn't shipping until 1st week of November. I definitely don't want to wait that long for a fix! If I can't get a fix within my return window, it'll probably go back to Best Buy and Amazon.

Galaxy Note10 TIP:
This is how you get rid of the message at the bottom of your screen (Note10/Note10+/Note10 5G) when you are charging your device:
1. Download this wallpaper: https://mega.nz/#!FogyWSxS!z6fV8XsrWK5LbOZxo4aV7Q3_BhH6yjM5sDW08zIGn5I
2. Create a folder on your phone, eg "Screensaver"
3. Place the downloaded image in "Screensaver"
4. Go to: Settings -> Display -> Screensaver -> Select Photo frame -> Select Screensaver
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

If you have gestures without hints turned on, you don't even have to download a wallpaper. Just set screensaver to Photo, but don't point it toward your Google photos. No pic to display, it will just show a blank screen.
I get why people would want to get rid of the informative text at the bottom.
I don't find it annyoing at all, I even find it useful. Quick and good way, IMO, to replace the LED.

In my car on my wireless charger it's great, at night in my pitch black room not so much.
Honestly if you're worried about burn-in then you will be using this phone for far too long...

Depends on your definition of "far too long."
Depends how long you usually keep a phone. Most payment plans are 24-36 months. Major update as tend to come every other year. So what's far too long?
Depends on if you leave it on the charger for hours or just occasional top off.
Depends on other screen activity that might counteract that burn in.
Depends on how much the OLED technology has improved to combat burn in.
I mean, people are buying $3000 OLED TVs and getting burn in on their screens in under a year. So is, what...10 months far too long? 6 months? A week? 2 years?
May not be for everyone but if you have S View Cover, you can disable AOD only when the cover is closed! There is a settings option for that.
No burn in, no workarounds.

I barely see it at night on a really dark room. But my AOD is set to auto-brightness so it could also come into play ?

I'm not that afraid of burn-in since I don't have the phone charging all the time and that the text is realtively visible (dark brightness) but I can imagine for other people to have it disabled because of that.

I keep seeing this an answer answer but how much does it move ? The main display moves between the the middle and top of the screen. Where does the charging indicator go?
Edit:
Nevermind I saw it. After the screen sleeps it defaults to the center but after awhile it shifts to the left or right

Really? I always wake up and the fully charged message and the icon are always in the same spot. hmm
Mine never moves. And even if it moves just a pixel or two, you'll still wind up with burn in, because that leaves the majority of the pixels stationary. Plus they're just moving over the same spots over and over again.

The battery info in charging mode , does move i myself tested this stood in front of it in my room with the lights out , and it does move from middle to left to right , i stared this for about 15 minutes to 20 minutes, and yes i got bored staring at it but it does move, so yall should not be worrying about burn in.
