I tried to update my defy plus from the phone.
When the phone downloaded the update, its asked me if i want to upgrade now.
I choose yes.
Its restarted to downloading mode, but after second it apear a exclamation mark in a white triangle.
I can't use any rom, because this.
I tried whit Odin, and Rom menager pro, but still have this problem, and i can't read any of this problem. Am i stupid, or its a real problem, and how could be solve it?
ODIN is used for flashing ROMs on Samsung phones. The exclamation mark with triangle is the stock recovery. Try pressing vol+ and vol- together and you will get options. I have never updated my phone OTA, so I don't know the procedure. Try selecting 'install update.zip'. If you know the SBF version, you can download it and flash using RSDLite.
I would suggest you to read the beginners guide in the general section before doing anything as you sound noob
So i saw the thread made by Doc few minutes ago and am having a dilemma right now...the QUESTION is if i use the root66 - PreRooted Firmware - T999_UVDLJA and FLASH a ROM for example [ROM][UVDLJA]~FrostyJB_4.1.1 the "Triangle" on the screen will appear or not?
"
and if i use the root66 - PreRooted Firmware - T999_UVALJ4 and flash a JB ROM the "Triangle" will not show up?
I have NEVER had the triangle even when my system says it is modified. Right now my phone is on the exact same thing i used odin with root66 then i flashed frosty. No triangle but my binary count is at one. With triangle away which i have used to test as far as i have been able to see it works fine so with the wonderful Triangle away i don't think their is any worry. If you do get the triangle just use triangle away.
So I just thought I would share this. Got the Note II about two weeks ago. Came from SGSII and also had Captivate, so I'm not new to the scene. I rooted using CF Auto Root, injected CWM using mjwhirly's method, and installed Jedi ROM 3.3. At no point did I encounter the yellow triangle. I still don't have it. I used a jig to get rid of it with my SGSII, and the captivate didn't employ that yellow triangle mess. I was fully prepared to either use Triangle Away or just live with it (as I've read you must do if you want to run custom firmwares nowadays). In "About Phone" it says "Modified" and in download mode it says custom binaries installed (count 2) but still no yellow triangle.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining but isn't this weird?

I never saw the triangle until I was going through the process of unrooting and going back to factory stock.
I've looked over other forum posts, and don't see anything that would help with the Note 2 in this situation.
Power Button is dead. When the phone was ON, the phone would work, all except the power button. My dumb ass let the battery die one night, and now it will fully charge, but cannot turn on.
I bought a USB jig (quicker than me making one)...however, it will boot to ODIN, but not completely...sits at the "Downloading...Do not turn off target !!", and the Binary Download Count is still at 1.
Question: Good Plan ...or Bad Plan
My guess is the jig is just not the right type for this phone, and i should simply make my own with a 300K resistor jumped between pin 4 and 5. I thought the jig would reset the download count to 1.....if not, then it could be working just fine.
Question:When stuck in this "Downloading" mode, I can connect it to the PC and see it with ODIN 3 v1.85...currently downloading stock ATT ROM. Will I be able to drop the stock ROM onto the device while on the "Downloading" screen...(something tells me...yes...)
Question:
If the stock ROM does not reset the binary download count to 0, i see there is an app i can install that will reset it for me. However, I cannot boot the phone. Is there a way to boot the phone remotely...ie, when it is plugged into the PC?
Question:...last on i swear
Any ideas on the freakin' power button?....obviously phone is under warranty, but i don't want to send it back until its un-rooted.
thanks...and sorry for the noob questions.
closer...but still no luck.

Was able to reload the stock ROM, however, the "Binary Download Count" still shows as 1. Would I need to re-root....download Triangle Away to reset to 0, then reload stock ROM?

try factory reset first.
WHich ROM you have flashed?
If you have flash latest ROM, then reflash some older ROM and re root using exynose abuse application. (latest ROM won't allow exynose abuse to root)
then use triangle away to reset counter
then unroot from exynose application itself
then you can send it to service station to repair.
PS : I doubt without power button how you can normal boot.
Edit : once you will flash ROM, it will auto boot normally, then same step you can install exynose abuse, root, use triangle away, it will auto enter to recovery mode and clean counter. then it should boot normally.
I think this should work.
It's really obvious is a hard ware problem. Warranty claim perhaps
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
if u can boot into download mode, it shouldnt have any problem, just flash from odin, root then triangle away, if you needed, install some app that can boot into recovery like root toolbox
solved

Thanks for the support. I was able to resolve this problem using steps below.
1. USB Jig to boot to ODIN
2. Connect to PC, run ODIN and Flash ATT Stock ROM (didn't know what would happen if i re-rooted a rooted device)
3. Booted phone with Jig again....re-rooted phone
4. Phone boots with SU. Installed Triangle Away and reset counter to 0
5. Booted phone to PC, installed stock ATT ROM and reset to factory defaults
6. Booted to jig to check ODIN still showed 0
*probably the long way around...but i had time, and it was taking that long...just wanted to be sure.
FYI: Jig $3.90 (Amazon), Triangle Away $2.90
Replacement phone is on it's way should be here tomorrow....
thanks again
Hi everyone,
I am currently trying to update my phone for the 5th time to Lollipop.
I have a rooted HTC One M8 with a custom flashed recovery (which I did ages ago, with the assist of a tutorial on youtube).
I think I need help trying to reflash the recovery back to stock, I tried to reflash the recovery myself but I still get the same red triangle w/ exclamation error. I am too much of a newbie with this stuff to fix it myself and I find myself in a place where I don't know how to update!! :crying:
Could anyone please link me to a guide on how to reflash the recovery to stock? I really have no idea what I am doing
Many thanks
You are rooted. The Lollipop OTAs check for any changes in /system, and root is definitely a change. Even if it wasn't, most of the stuff you would do as root will make a change. There are ways to get around that, but the easiest way is to unroot and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, then RUU back to stock (or restore a backup that isn't rooted) and try it again.
I don't know what your skill level is, but the update will inform you which file it failed on if you really want to try to fix it. However, it can quickly become a massive PITA if you really use your root privileges.

That is stock recovery. You just need to press VOL UP button and POWER button to get into recovery when you see that screen.
