So i saw the thread made by Doc few minutes ago and am having a dilemma right now...the QUESTION is if i use the root66 - PreRooted Firmware - T999_UVDLJA and FLASH a ROM for example [ROM][UVDLJA]~FrostyJB_4.1.1 the "Triangle" on the screen will appear or not?

I have NEVER had the triangle even when my system says it is modified. Right now my phone is on the exact same thing i used odin with root66 then i flashed frosty. No triangle but my binary count is at one. With triangle away which i have used to test as far as i have been able to see it works fine so with the wonderful Triangle away i don't think their is any worry. If you do get the triangle just use triangle away.

So I just thought I would share this. Got the Note II about two weeks ago. Came from SGSII and also had Captivate, so I'm not new to the scene. I rooted using CF Auto Root, injected CWM using mjwhirly's method, and installed Jedi ROM 3.3. At no point did I encounter the yellow triangle. I still don't have it. I used a jig to get rid of it with my SGSII, and the captivate didn't employ that yellow triangle mess. I was fully prepared to either use Triangle Away or just live with it (as I've read you must do if you want to run custom firmwares nowadays). In "About Phone" it says "Modified" and in download mode it says custom binaries installed (count 2) but still no yellow triangle.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining but isn't this weird?

I never saw the triangle until I was going through the process of unrooting and going back to factory stock.
Ok, I have installed custom roms on my phone recently and they all worked fine. Just two days ago I dropped my phone and cracked the screen... So I need to return to stock firmware and what not to return it of course. So I have downloaded "Triangle Away"... This is where I need help... Triangle Away sort of scares me with the warning and all so I want to make sure of what I'm doing and seeking advice. I now have the stock firmware on my phone, but I have not done anything with Triangle Away.
Here's what I've done.
1. Downloaded newest version of Odin.
2. Downloaded the AT&T Firmware from -> sammobile
- Extracted files - Loaded file onto Odin
3. Went into "Download Mode" and installed the firmware.
4. Passed and booted up and was a %100 success.
Now... my device status no longer says modified, it does indeed say normal... Does this mean I can return it for warranty now or is there more to this then what I'm seeing?

If it says Normal, official and a flash count of 0 you're good to go. You lose root when you Odin back to stock (not root injected) you need root to use Triangle Away anyway.
Make sure your superuser apps (superuser, supersu) are uninstalled and remove any programs that require root such as Titanium Backup.
Triangle away has that big scary warning because chainfire isn't responsible if it Bork's your phone (especially considering it doesn't work on every model) I've used it a bunch of times and had zero issues.

Best way to be sure is to boot into download mode (power+home+volume down) and see what it says there. As stated above, make sure the counter says 0.

The paid version auto clears on reboot. Because of the custom ROM loading after each reboot the counter always goes to 1.

I think the warning is mainly for those who don't have phones compatible with the triangle away app. I've used it a few times so far and haven't had an issue. It takes about 5 seconds and you're done!

I'm wanting to sell my Note II and I have a potential buyer but he will only buy it once I've unrooted/flashed stock firmware and reset the binary counter.
I think I can do most, if not all, using the toolkit in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923956 but, having read the thread, it's unclear (at least to me) if this process actually resets the binary counter. There's some discussion regarding using the app 'Triangle Away' to reset the binary counter, but I cannot figure out when you use this app in the process.
Can anybody confirm the following:
(1) that the tool in the link above is the one to use?
(2) that the tool will flash stock and unroot?
(3) whether the tool resets the binary counter? If not, confirm that I need to use the triangle away app.
(4) advise me in which order I return the handset back to the state prior to me rooting it. For example, when is the triangle away app used in the process?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here this is which will help you to reset the counter
and install Flash stock and Flash stock Kernel
user triangle away .
as a hint from me addition to the above mentioned, (according to my experiences),
you must follow an order to unroot with acquiring fully samsung official in download mode. (i assume you have rooted stock rom and stock kernel )
1) flash perseus kernel( i used that) because triangle away does not work with stock kernel. App force closes with stock.
2) install stock recovery with odin in download mode (can be found as "cf-autoroot", i dont remember where i have found)
3) restart n7100 and open triangle away. select reset binary counter.
4) after reset binary counter complete, shut down phone and directly enter into the download mode. If phone opens normally, then redo reset by triangle away because if you restart android, binary counter sets back itself to 1. So shut down phone and enter directly to the download mode.
5) If it shows "custom binary flash:No", "current binary:samsung official", "system status:custom", then you are good to go. Do not restart your phone because of above item "4", and follow next step "6".
6) in the download mode you opened in 4-5, without doing anything, open odin from pc, and download official firmware that you downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31801046&postcount=1 put that firmware to the odin and flash it.
7) you are now official and fully stock however, if you enter download mode you will see "no,samsung official, custom". Dont panic, it's because your rom is dirty. So enter stock recovery and make a factory reset. Then restart your phone and wait for the settings wizard.
8) you can turn off your phone and enter in download mode. you must see "no, samsung official, official" in there.
I have seen a lot of instructions and see that counter always showing "1", so tried several hundred times and found this method. The important point is, after you reset your counter, dont restart. Directly enter download mode and flash stock firmware. This is important.
This is my 3rd android phone, used Desire Z and Evo3d from HTC before. HTC is hard to root and nearly impossible to unroot but i cant use HTC's without root because of bloatware. Also HTC does not mind root in warranty. But samsung blocks some apps and voids warranty, and stock rom is perfectly clean and neat. So i decided to unroot and use it that way.

I ran cf-auto root on my sprint note 2 and now I need to reset the flash counter. I never flashed a custom recovery, kernel, or firmware. Despite not flashing anything new, triangle away will still set the counter =1 and everything else to official. I have no clue why and I need to send in my phone soon. I was wondering if I could run triangle away then immediately go into download mode and unroot. However, i thought just going into download mode would be enough to trigger the knox counter.

I repaired an old S3, changing local board, it's work fine,everything at 100%, I want to put on it Lineage OS, but when I did it, on boot screen in the left upper part there is an exclamation mark, I did some search, and tried a lot workaround but no success to remove red exclamation mark (like triangle away)
I re-put on stock ROM, and exclamation mark vanished, but counter is "yes = 3" on the download mode screen
I want to put old android ROM 4.0 or something so (I found old rom in another place because from sammobile web site I have to pay to download it), because I read here there are some protections put from Samsung on boot loader on new ROMs, and also root it whit Odin, and put again triangle away and re try it... for you it is a good idea or there is another method?
