BLOD and New 5x owner - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just bought my first Nexus 5x.
No idea if it will ever bootloop or not. Haven't received it yet.
I'm wondering if I should apply any bootloop fixes for the device as soon as I get it or not.
Is there no OTA fix for the bootloop? Should I apply one of the fixes here? Should I do nothing?
Thanks!

Hello,
did you buy it used or new?
Best regards

New. From Amazon

RMA Nexus 7 for touchscreen fix?

Hello everyone!
My Nexus 7 is getting worse, specially when I use it in a flat surface. Before trying to fix it with the sfhub driver, I wanted to know if anyone has sent the tablet back to Google with any success?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428133
I have mine rooted, so I will have to sort that out first...
Thanks!
Yes, I had your issue. I don't know how long you've had your device but this was my situation:
I ordered my N7 2013 from the Play Store. When I received it, it was immediately obvious that I had major issues with the touchscreen. I rooted my device and attempted all of the available touchscreen firmware fixes but did not reach any satisfactory solutions. I returned my device back to stock and relocked my bootloader.
I contacted Google's customer support within 3 days of receiving my device and initiated an RMA. They cross-shipped me a new device, which was free of any defects, and I returned the old one in the supplied packaging.
Good luck!
I have problems with touch screen. I send it back to them and what they did was remove the screen protector and send it back to me. The problems is not fixed.

Bootloop issue

Anyone know about the bootloop issue that affects our phones and lg is offering full refund long as have the receipt. The part that causes the bootloop is not available. Anyone know about this or experience this issue? http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/1...unds-for-some-malfunctioning-nexus-5x-phones/ …
Yes, I got the bootloop last week. Sent my phone in to LG and am awaiting response. Will post back if I receive the email listed in your article.
Side note. I had the exact same issue with my previous LG G4 and was actually successful with getting the device working by 'cooking' the motherboard. Now that definitely voids any warranty and is not foolproof, but if people don't want to lose their device for a payout, it's something they could try. (Again AT THEIR OWN RISK!)

touchscreen flashing

this G4 was last refurbed by LG in late 2016. It's having issues again.
Anyone ever replace the touchscreen? How'd it go? pita? or not so bad?
this is the one I found.

BLOD bootloop

Hey guys hope this is the right place to ask
so i'm thinking about buying this phone but i started to hear about that BLOD bootloop so, can someone tell me what causes it, does it still occurs, is it preventable ? and Nexus 6p is also concerned ?
@farrouk: BLOD is probably caused by losing connections of mainboard, caused by unappropriated aging solder. I didn't read any statement by LG, whether this happened only for some batches or how to prevent it. So, it's all supposing - for example it might help when keeping the cores cool. I wouldn't buy a 2nd hand and for 250€ for a new one you get newer devices.

How can I identify a faulty used 5X before buying it?

Hello everyone.
Is there any way I can identify if a 5X has presented the bootloop issue, or if it already has 2 disabled cores? Where should I check that?
The screen of my daily driver is completely destroyed and I need to buy a phone, there's this person selling me an used 5X for cheap , but I'm a bit afraid of the bootloop issue and I'd like to know if it has already gone through it.
Seller says it hasn't, but since he's not a close friend of mine or anything, I prefer not to trust.
