always active data. - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Function "mobile data always active", is not getting saved.
After activating it in the developer options, it is disabled again.
How can I always enable it?

How to Disable Data - stays after a reset

So I've been struggling with this with my TP2 (Telus's network), I can't afford the Data at the moment and I'm sure someone else must have had this issue.
So go to Settings>All Settings>Connections
"Manage my existing connections" from there click on your provider's network and go to Edit and follow the procedure as per usual but where it says use automatic IP, select manual and enter 0.0.0.0.0 (the default) click servers and do the same again for the dns etc. This setting stays after a reset. The other settings (if you create a new connection or have a data block from telus) go away on a soft reset or network refresh on their side.
I hope it helps.
I would imagine a program like they have for the Touch HD called HD Tweak is available. For the HD you can disable the data connection in the settings.
Just create a new profile with no modem or apn. select your profile if you want to disable data.
have you tried the little app called NoData?
i installed on all my devices, you can toggle to Enable or Disable Data connection .it works very well

[Q] Deleting a queued download

I tried to download 'whatsapp messenger' about a week ago. It didn't download but was queued instead. So I have a constant ongoing "download is queued" message in my notifications. It's annoying. There is no option to download it or delete it. Ho do I get rid of it
silly question but have you put it on a wireless connection since? there is a featrue 'data saver' which queues downloads untill you're on a fast data connection. maybe you could try turning this feature off if enabled maybe that would jump start it? or if off, try turning it on, then off?
settings -> data manager -> data saver
also maybe check the settings under data delivery, make sure background data is on

Use packet data message on startup

Every time I turn on my phone, it asks for enabling packet data which is very annoying.
I've disabled everything but couldn't fix it. Any solution?
Try flash again or hard reset
Thank you very much, hard reset did the job then I tried to find it.
If I set default connection in Application profiles, I'll get that problem.
Not sure which one from the list. I have to recreate the connection and don't set in there to fix it
Go to settings, network and activate packet data.
I don't wanna activate it
check social networks connection
It happens if I set for "Samsung Apps" =/
It happens if I set any Connection in Application profiles.
It would be great if I could disable that annoying notification without removing the Connections

Galaxy S9 Data Icon persistent

There will be many times when my data icon will be persistent even on wifi.
I'm pretty sure it's not actually downloading anything because I don't see the download and upload arrows lighting up.
At times, the issue will go away, but in others it reappears. I've made sure to disable "Keep Mobile data turned on" in the developer options.
Has anyone else been experiencing this? I'm on T-Mobile.

Thank you. I forgot to mention that when I usually leave data and wifi on, wifi automatically overrides it. I still leave my data on because of this fact. Right now, it seems to be working (as in the phone is only showing wifi with both data and wifi enabled).

WiFi will override it as long as you do not have that setting enabled, if you do the phone will switch between data and wifi randomly when it thinks data will give a better connection
You do not need that setting enabled to leave data on, I do not have it enabled and my phone will switch to data once I leave wifi, that setting just gives the phone a dumb brain that barely works and forces it to switch back and forth regardless, it has never worked properly since the S5 series
You can safely disable that setting and still have data come back on automatically once you leave wifi

Mobile data never really turns off but shows disabled.

I'm having this issue where once I boot into Android and I disabled mobile data and use WiFi, everything will work as intended. If at some point I enable mobile data and wait a few minutes I can disable WiFi and mobile data yet a data connection is still available. Icons show up as being disabled but this is false. A reboot will clear the issue but returns as mentioned. I removed as many apps as I could think of that may have something to do and checked developer settings to fix this behavior to no avail. Anyone running into this?

I'm not sure but it could be that in developer options there is a setting to keep mobile data always enabled. Try to turn it off and see if there is any change.
This was fixed by changing my T-Mobile APN and now for some reason it works as should. Was using "wholesale" as the MNVO APN previously.
