Anyone else moving to Nexus 6?

First of all.. I LOVE this phone. Sooooooooo much better than any Samsung on the market. BUT I am sooooo tired if the bad battery life and the lag.
I've been playing with the nexus 6 a lot at work ( Tmobile) and I LOVE how fast,smooth and beautiful it is. And the nexus 6 with the bigger battery and optimized for android 5.0 is supposed to get much better battery
The nexus won't be much bigger than my current setup. Going to go with a cruzerlite tpu case on it... It will be about the same size as my g3 with an otter box on it.
Anyone else switching? And why
Oh.. I'm actually going to miss the back buttons. I fell in love with them. But I like how all nexus buttons are in thumb reach like the Sony.. buttons on top of phone and/or on both sides of the phone is a horrible idea

I do not have a opinion on the nexus but I also think the back buttons are amazing. I do differ on the top/bottom button though, right side power button is the next best thing imo.

I saw it the T-Mobiles store. Speakers were amazing. Loved the screen size. Pretty much all.
The screen is just horrible. Isn’t just because is crapmoled, is just a really bad screen. There is no mode to reduce the over saturation as Samsung has. It is something really wrong with that screen; you can see a rainbow effect with the blue-greyish color of the interface, especially when pulling down the notifications bar. That bezel is just gigantic on the sides; bigger than my ex-nexus 4. Screen is way dimmer than the LG G3. I don’t remember what kind of tint but white colors were not whites at all.
Doesn’t have a functional notification light. Seriously?
Non removable battery. No thanks, had enough of that already.
This is personal taste but I think the Motorola curved design is ultra-ugly. Not to mention the huge nexus stamp on the back that looks so ghetto.

Had a 64gb Nexus 6 for about 5 days and returned it during the buyers remorse period.
I'm now using a Moto X 2014 pure edition with lollipop as my daily. My G3 is back in the box, I will take it out and start using it again once official lollipop gets pushed for it.
What I liked about the Nexus 6.
Design, very nice looking device, feels solid and well made. Speakers were nice and loud but lacked "fullness" like the HTC M8. Camera is very nice also, I think the pictures look better in low-mid light compared to the G3. Outdoors it's a tie.
What I did not like..
I admit, I like AMOLED screens but Motorola took the oversaturation to the next level. Same like my Moto X, everything just looks weird to my eyes. Samsung is getting much better with toning down their AMOLEDs and Motorola seems to be picking up where Samsung left off.
Stutters, there are still some micro-stutters present. Sometimes swiping fast to the right to access the Google Now page will cause the phone to stutter. I thought pure Android Lollipop on top end specs with ART runtime as default would provide the fastest and smoothest Android experience... nope.
My Moto X on Lollipop is smoother, believe it or not. Might be the software encryption on the Nexus 6 slowing things down. Games don't seem to run as smoothly either.
Size, I like my phones big but even with my Ringke slim case on, this phone is borderline comical in size.
So after using it for a few days, I found that I liked my Moto X 2014 edition better plus with the Cyber Monday coupon deal, I got it for basically half the price of the Nexus 6. Heck I even think my One Plus One was an overall better device with better battery life, smoother performance and much nicer screen.
It's nice that the Nexus 6 came first with Lollipop and all but now many devices are running Lollipop also so I don't see the appeal anymore, frankly I think it was massively overpriced. $784 here after tax and overnight shipping, definitely not worth the price so back it went.

Development scene has picked up enough for the G3 that I’d call the G3 a better Nexus than the Nexus 6 is if both devices are running stock or stockish Lollopop. It’s big for no reason and with Google making no effort at all to design apps for large devices or even OS features to take advantage of the screen real estate, I just can’t hand over my money that easily to them. After the 4, 5, and 7, it looks like I’m done with the Nexus brand while I patiently await the G4.

I agree.
I tried every way possible to justify getting rid of my G3 for a N6. The more I tried, the more I found ways to tweak what I didn't like. Now, with it all customized, it is the best phone I have ever owned.
The only phone I am waiting on now is the G4.

I got in on the black friday deal for the N6 64 gigs $50.00 off. Few days later (when it was supposed to be shipping) got a notice of back order. Waited 2 more weeks to be told It would be Feb before i got it. Cancelled the orders and kept the 2 G3s

Help Deciding - Nexus 5X or Nexus 6? All Input Appreciated!

So, it doesn't seem to be an easy choice for someone in the market for a new device whom prefers stock Android.
I am trying to weigh out the pros and cons between the 5X and the 6. (In my personal opinion of course)

Is it right to compare the 5X to the 6, giving the substantial size difference? I believe so due to the price. I mean, the 32GB Nexus 6 is $80 cheaper than the 32GB Nexus 5X.
Tomorrow (11/24/2015) I will be receiving two packages from Fedex. One will contain a Brand New White Nexus 6, the other a Brand New Black Nexus 5X. I have 24 hours to decide which I want to keep.
I will GREATLY appreciate any and all input from current Nexus 5X owners. What made you decide to purchase a Nexus 5X, knowing that you could have gotten a Nexus 6 for less?
P.S- I'm not a fan of the Nexus 6P. I feel it is well worth $500, but for some reason I just don't really like it. I don't know if it is its appearance, the fact that it is a Huawei, I don't know. But something makes me not want it.

Get the 5X, especially for the imprint it's worth it. Has good battery life also. I love it, I thought I wouldn't with all the "bad" reviews but it's an amazing phone!

What do you like most about your 5X? What color did you go with?
It's like, I love the N6 AMOLED Display and Dual Stereo Speakers, but then I love the 5X Form Factor and Nexus Imprint. The AMOLED vs IPS isnt that big of a deal to me. I love AMOLEDs deep blacks and vibrant colors, but I dont like their uneven pixel wearing and future nav bar / status bar retention. The 5X seems more future proof with 64bit SOC and USB C, but how future proof is 2GB of ram?
Sigh, I am way over thinking this! There is a 90% chance that regardless of which I get, it will be replaced with a new Nexus next Oct / Nov.
The Nexus 6 has a better display and better speakers. I just need to decide if that justifies the loss of a favorable form factor, fingerprint sensor, and better camera.

I went with black. I did want the AMOLED but this display is good anyway. Do you really need the stereo speakers? I find that kind of a gimmick. It's nice and all but the speaker on this phone works well, plus there's a mod to allow sound from the earpiece and it's surprisingly good.
With more iterations of Android, the RAM usage will only get better. I do wish it had 3GB but it performs fast for me.
You could get the 6 for cheap then just get the new Nexus phone next year . That's also not a bad idea, but I didn't like how big that phone is. The N5X is JUST big enough to where it isn't too big.

Nexus 5x is better for me.
The N6 was my phone, I sold it to buy a N5X. Today I have no regret.
Two main reasons : the N6 size and weight, it was difficult to use with one hand.
Other reasons : imprint, much better camera, much better battery, USB C, and IPS N5X screen is for me better than N6 amoled.
The only thing i am missing is the dual speakers.

I'm not alone here then. You actually sold your Nexus 6 and bought a 5X. Did you ever feel like you "downgraded". I guess there are pros and cons to both really.
I like the Nexus 6 and for some reason I feel like if I go with the 5X I am downgrading. Yet, for some reason something is making me want the 5X. I guess I am trying to decide between performance and form factor. To me it seems the Nexus 6 has better specs as far as processor, ram, display, speakers. But, the 5X has a more functional form factor, fingerprint sensor, better camera, and USB C.
Talk about first world problems.... lol. Rough life I have, trying to decide if I want to keep the Nexus 6 or the Nexus 5X.
In the end, I think I am going to go with the 5X. I like the idea of the big beasty Nexus 6, but it is the phablet of phablets. Sure the display is nice and all, but damn it is a huge phone. Also, I am far from a power user. I do not play games or even download them to my phones. So the larger screen will be kind of a waste for me. My phone usage consist of calls, texts, web browsing, YouTube, normal app usage. I think the 5X is perfect for me. I'm not sure if it is worth getting the Nexus 6 just to have a better youtube experience, because for my usage that is about all I will be gaining.
I have been thinking about picking up a Nexus 7 for the at the house anyways. So maybe I will just stick with the 5X and pick up a Nexus 7 for the house. Then I will have the best of both worlds. Larger screen for media at home, and a solid functional phone for on the go.

Well I received my Nexus 6 and my Nexus 5X today. Next to the 5X, the Nexus 6 doesn't seem THAT much bigger. Until you turn the screens on. Then, I see a big difference. Colors look much more vivid on the 6, but whites look whiter on the 5X. I definitely did not get a 5X with the yellowing issue. My whites on my 5X are WHITE, where on the 6 they look slightly creamy. The 6 display is definitely brighter when both devices are max. I do see where people are coming from about AMOLED displays. They are super vivid, and the colors just pop, but they also have a cartoony look to them. Definitely over saturated. Call my crazy but I am starting to like the 5X display more. I have never had an AMOLED next to an IPS like this before. (previous iPhone guy here).
I would say the Whites and Grays look much better on the 5X, and the colors can look better on the 6, but almost way over saturated at times.
They both feel pretty good in the hand. More so the 5X, it actually feels like a phone. The 6 is just so wide. Feels more like a mini tablet than a phone. I snapped a few pics. The 5X definitely takes a better picture. The speakers on the 6 smoke the 5X hands down. (obviously) I love Nexus Imprint though.
This is going to be hard! I am giving myself until tomorrow morning to decide. It is looking to be exactly as I predicted. Do I want beasty media device with a huge display and dual speakers, or do I want a more functional device with a fingerprint sensor and better battery life.
Sigh.... I will say that I am leaning a little bit more towards the 5X. I am going to do some real world performance tests and see how that goes.

When I bought the N6 and saw its screen, after the N4, I said "wow it is large" !! When I put the phone in my pocket I also said "wow it is very large and heavy weight" !! After a few weeks, I felt I could not forget i had my phone with me, here in my pocket, annoying for all I was doing all day long (sitting, walking, driving, ...).
After my N6 I felt downgraded because I went back to my N4. That's maybe why I feel "upgraded" now.

I love the idea of the 5X. The only problem is I have been using a Nexus 6 for almost two months. I'm so use to the display. It's super nice for Chrome and YouTube. Typing is a dream.
However, I have noticed the faults of its camera. It takes less than desirable photos. There are many times where I have tried to pull it out and use it while doing something, and I had to set down what was in my other hand to finish what I was doing on it. The size is awesome for media, and bad for everything else.
The form factor and functionality will be so much better if I go with the 5X. It would be nice to be able to whip out my phone, have it unlocked by the time it's out of my pocket, and send a text easily one handed. The camera would be a welcomed change as well.
Decisions, Decisions.

So, N5X is a good compromise.

The Nexus 5X would have been a good compromise. I couldn't do it though. After using the 5X for two days, I decided against it.
I feel the 5X is a great phone! I have nothing bad to say about it! If I had went from my iPhone 6 to the 5X I would have loved it! Going from a 4.7" LCD to a 5.2" LCD would have been a nice upgrade! However, I didn't. I went from an iPhone 6 to a Nexus 6. The switch made me love Amoled displays, as well as larger displays. (Phablets)
Ultimately I put the 5X side by side to the Nexus 6 and used them both for a couple hours. This just made me fully appreciate the 6 display and the dual stereo speakers even more. The 5X fingerprint sensor and better camera were not enough for me to ditch the 5.96" AMOLED Display and Dual Stereo Speakers. Don't get me wrong though, I thought the 5X did have a very nice IPS display. It had better whites than the 6, but to me colors and blacks couldn't even compare.
Farewell Nexus 5X forum. I will be returning to the Nexus 6 forum.

Anyone else coming from the Nexus 6? How do you feel about your Pixel XL?

I bought the Nexus 6 right around launch. I loved the size of the phone and the speakers, but it has not aged well for me and runs quite slowly once I hit 50% battery. Apps like Snapchat are almost unusable at 100% battery.
The Pixel XL is hands down the smoothest Android experience ever. My first phone was a Droid 2 and I've always been an Android user. Never has a phone felt so fast and functional, and apps that didn't work well previously (Snapchat) are smooth as butter. The battery life is also great so far.
But for the price point, I expected more somehow. Firstly, coming from a Nexus 6, the phone feels so tiny! I didn't think half an inch would be that much of a difference, but I am still adjusting to even typing on a smaller screen.
I really, really miss the speakers. Why did they put the bottom firing speaker on the left? I know many people use the "pinky" grip on larger phones, and being right handed, I now block the speaker constantly. The right side has a similar grill that seemingly does nothing... why didn't they put it there?
My other complaint is the tactile buttons. I don't know if there's something wrong with my phone, but the power and volume buttons are stiff as hell in comparison to the Nexus 6. It goes beyond "clicky" to just purely annoying. I really have to grip the phone to press those buttons, and this design choice confused me as well. Has anyone else noticed this?
And then there's the "rapid" charging. Why does it take an hour and 7 minutes to charge from 66% to 100% when my Nexus 6 would take half that time or less?
I feel like I paid $120 more for a smaller phone with worse speakers and charging and buttons for better speed and operability. Then again, the Nexus 6 was also quite fast two years ago, and it isn't now.

I came from a nexus 6 also. In my opinion the only thing I miss from it are the speakers and little bit extra screen size . The charging I never noticed since my nexus 6 and pixel xl last me all say day so I just plug them in when I sleep. The thing that amazed me the most with the pixel was how much better the battery life is. With my pixel I get 6 to 6.5 hours of screen on time unlike my nexus 6 witch got about 4 hours with out mods, but on my nexus 6 with hells core kernel and a lot of mods to that kernel I did usually get about 6 hours of screen on time with my nexus 6. So now I can't wait for more kernel development on the pixels so I can try to get 10 hours of screen on time, but over all I'm don't regret upgrading. Also the price difference I can live with that. I pre ordered my pixel xl I got a free daydream headset and also the pixels come with a free 3 month subscription to Google play music so I can live with that .
Also to NOTE please don't try to compare your battery life to mine. Everyone's usage of their phones is different so your battery life may very!

I had the 6 as well and agree with clapper speakers and vibrate are my only complaint. As well I found the keyboard was more accurate on the 6 but that may be due to screen size. No regrets excellent battery life camera is outstanding performance top notch with nice exclusive features. When Allo integrates with SMS /google voice I'll be super stoked

I just sold my nexus 6 to a friend after getting the Pixel xl. I was sad to see it go but I love my Pixel. He was on a galaxy s5 and I was proud to welcome him to the nexus line with one of the best phones I've ever owned. He's had it 3 days and loves it. He's not a power user and isn't rooted or anything but is on Straight Talk and had no issues, just put the SIM card in and had data and everything.
Not super happy with the sound quality compared to the 6 and I've had horrendous Bluetooth issues with my scion tc. The Pixel is so snappy and the difference in display size isn't very noticeable. I feel like the color on the Pixel is brighter, but it looks less natural. I flashed the Pixel dialer awhile ago on the nexus 6 so I enjoy that on here.
Just can't wait for Xposed. *drools*

I had the nexus 6p previously and wasn't sure if the pixel xl was worth an upgrade. Bought it anyway and well no regrets so far. Battery life is amazing, performance is top notch and overall build is solid.

I had a Nexus 6 before getting the Pixel XL. Without a doubt I miss the dual front facing speakers most. For the Pixel being an expensive flagship, I think the speaker placement was pretty poor. Other than that it is superior with battery life, performance and screen quality to name a few.

Battery and performance and camera speed are so much better than the 6p, wow.
The speakers are atrocious though. It may not really be worth the total cost of the upgrade from the 6p, but man do i feel good not worrying about missing shots with my camera or carrying a battery pack around.
Compared to the 6 though, it is well worth it. Actually being able to use the screen outside is amazing. I actually do miss the 6inch screen though.

Came from the Nexus 6 and overall display quality and brightness are much improved. I can now look at my screen on a bright sunny day and have no issues seeing the content. Well worth that alone for me

I loved my nexus 6, as to when I moved to the Pixel XL...
What I like:
* The camera is night and day better
* battery life is improved ( Does not matter to me much as I rarely had to charge is except at night.)
* I thought the finger print scanner was more of a gimmick... I take it all back I was wrong. I actually really like the fingerprint reader.
* faster
Cons:
* No front facing speakers (This actually bugged me more than I thought it would.)
* no wireless charging ( ya i am sure they will make a case that has it. )
* Mine is white... YA ya... colors... who cares its in a case.
That's it, while I didn't see the HUGE improvements, I have NO issues with my upgrade.

Like other said, came from Moto Nex 6 and only miss the speakers.

Screen is smaller but much brighter and the clarity is a tad bit better doing to being a higher DPI.

nexus 6p stocked sucked balls but with custom roms etc runs fine, pixel xl amazing stock can t wait to see what the devs have to offer.p

I had nothing but issues with my Nexus 6. I liked the design of it but for me it just seemed poorly implemented. I thought the 6p would never be beaten, but I was wrong. Love the pixel. I think I'd they could make the device a little more compact height wise and keep the screen the same it would have been perfect. I do agree the look of it is plain, but it's classy at least.

I'm on my first day with pixel xl from a Nexus 6. The first thing I noticed is how much nicer the form is on the Pixel. The second is that there isn't a big improvement in smoothness or speed vs the 6. I recently did a factory reset on the N6 so it's about as fast as I can expect. I liked the screen size of the 6 but grew tired of how awkward it was to hold and keep in my pocket. 5.5" is the right size. I hated the curve on the back of the 6.
The speakers on the XL are loud but so imbalanced sounding compared to the 6... big disappointment. Where pixel shines in function is battery life and the camera. In a side by side test I could take three pictures with Pixel in the time out takes to make 1 with N6. So a good upgrade even considering the speakers.

Came from Nex 6. Must say wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money but very happy so far. Noticeably quicker ,better camera and battery. Enjoy g fingerprint sensor more then I thought. Biggest issue is speakers and wish the screen went all the way down instead of the dead space. But overall very happy

Came from N6, i loved that phone but even though it was a great phone, i dont miss a thing. Pixel XL camera is a huge difference, love the fingerprint reader and how fast this phone is, Google really wanted to make to this phone special and imho they did.

I don't see the big deal with the front facing speakers that most people complain about. I think the pixel didn't have them because of how the phone sits in the daydream vr. I would imagine that it would muffle the sound. The nexus 6 was one of my favorite phones I have ever had, and now the pixel has taken that place. I love the fingerprint scanner (Always thought it was lame lol) The phone feels better in my hands compared to my n6. I am currently returning the phone to stock and turning it in to Verizon for a bill credit. The camera is a million times better, I took a picture of my daughter using the daydream with my n6 and it just sucked lol

Another nexus 6 user that only misses the speakers. I really didn't notice the screen size change after a day of use and the phone is so much faster. The battery life is much better I can get double the screen on time. 2-3 hours on nexus 6 4-6 hours on pixel XL.

I came from the Nexus 6P and buy me the normal Pixel. I want a smaller phone with stock Android + newest Hardware and I don't regret it. On my Pixel I get like 7h screen on and on my Nexus 6-7h.

Anyone wish they bought the Pixel instead?

I've been in deep thought on whether to get the Pixel or the Pixel XL. I've anyways had my mind set on the XL as I'm used to larger phones lately, but the 5" screen is nothing tiny. I've read a number of reviews who state the Pixel is more comfortable to hold and they prefer the feel of it. Have any of you who own the XL ever wish you got the smaller one instead? If so, is there a specific reason?
I'll admit, part of my reasoning for contemplating it is availability.

Nope,I had a n6 before this, and it (pixel xl) fits my hands perfectly. 5 in phones make my hands feel too cramped.

I am tired of phones that are bigger than 5 or 5.2,,,,I had the moto Z force and it was a great phone but it was still too big for me. I decided on the 5" Pixel and havent regretted it since.

Even the xl is a little too small for me. Prefer the N6 size. No way I could go smaller.

I've had 5.5"+ phones going back to the LG G3, and wouldn't mind hitting 6", ala the Huawei Mate 9. 5" isn't even a consideration anymore. You can try to justify getting the Pixel just because it's available, but if you want the XL, you'll always wish you had waited for it.

50-50. When I work I feel like I wish I had the smaller phone, because it's always in my hand but when I'm home I feel like XL is worth it. My eyes are probably done or something but the default scaling of XL even I find too small, and making the font or display area bigger makes it a little too big for my taste. But one thing is sure, coming from a Note 4, this phone is much easier to hold and operate with one hand, because it's much narrower. But if you want real freedom go with the normal version, like you said 5 inches is still a very good size for a mobile phone.

My wife has a Pixel, and I have an XL. I tinker with the PIxel enough to know that I do not prefer it. The XL is not nearly as large as others in the same size group (the LG V20 comes to mind) wile the Pixel feels a little larger than I expected it to, also the XL fits fin in my pocket with Incipio case. Definitely the XL for me, but at the same time it is not even an option for my wife and here smaller hands.

The largest phone I had prior to my Pixel XL is the iPhone 6 and felt I could never go bigger, yet I honestly didn't feel it was much bigger in my hand once I switched. It wasn't until I laid my old phone on top of my Pixel XL that I truly notice how much bigger it was. The first case I had was the OtterBox Commuter and the ledges made it so easy to use the larger phone but since then I purchased the LifeProof Fre and this case has made it a bit harder to manage since I don't have the ledges to hold onto when stretching to the top corner.
Long story short, the benefits of higher DPI and better battery life makes the Pixel XL a clear winner in my book.

Ugh, that's what I was thinking... Hearing someone else say it confirms what I suspected...
However, I'm going to go to Verizon and play with both, just to see. My wife has an S7 and I kind of like the feel of it.

The battery life sold me. Much smaller advantage for me is screen resolution for use with Daydream VR, though I haven't compared Pixel and Pixel XL side by side.

I came from a Nexus 5 to a Nexus 6 to the Pixel XL. I think the XL is the perfect size. The right compromise between usability, legibility, and ease of use.

It's personal preference. I need to be able to use my device one handed all the time. The Pixel is good for that. I've had phone around 5.5 inch and prefer the smaller ones these days. I'm glad we can get high end specs in smaller phones now.

Question P6P or P6?

If this is asked, I didn't see it but I wanted to ask the guys using the P6P before I decide which way I'm going, are you happy with the 6P or would trade down for the P6 Pro? And I ask this as someone who always goes with the bigger version (P4 XL, currently for example).
I'm guessing there are some of yo have test-driven both.
And if so, I'm curious about why or why not?? The extra $300 is a little harder to swallow 2 months after buying a house in an inflating economy...

I decided on the pro for the LTPO display and the 48 telephoto. I learned quickly that 120hz eats the battery so I keep it at 60 which helps a LOT.
Other than that if I had a choice to go back and save the 300 I probably would. It's not that much better. And the stereo speakers are not balanced AT all.

That's actually - at the moment - not true. There seems to be a strange bug.

I appreciate that. It's one of the reasons that I not sure which way to go, in that I don't need the enhanced resolution because I don't watch video on my phone or play games. It's just a nice feature to have it I guess but it's not a deal-breaker. The extra size is nice but mostly it's performance that I look for and from what I've read it's not a huge difference between devices.

I'm very happy with the P6 Pro and don't want to miss it. I come from the Pixel 4 XL, so the new wide cam is a nice addition. Considering that the P6 Pro has a magnificent Tele zoom (better than the new IPhones), there is no way that I would go to the Pixel 6 non pro, certainly not for "just" 300 bucks. There are just too many arguments - that matter to me - that make the Pixel 6 Pro the better value for my money.
If we would live in a better world, the Pixel 6 would have the same size than the older "non" xl/pro versions - so in that case, if the Pixel 6 would be a small phone, I would maybe consider it. But since the Pixel 6 is as big as the P6 Pro...
Jea, nah. No.

My main reason for buying the Pro was because of the 512 GB storage model available only on the Pro. Bought one for both my wife and me.
If there was a 512 GB model available for the P6, I would've seriously considered it. I have no regrets buying the P6P, though.

welcome to the indecisiveness club. The pro has that curve which Im not sure about but on the regular 6 you loose that QHD display(my 2 XL has it) and loose telephoto. Hell I can't even decide if want either new device with the fingerprint complaints LOL.

I tried out both the 6 and the Pro over the weekend. Colour temperature of the screen was a bit different, but I couldn't see a difference in clarity (resolution) at arm's length. Small difference in phone size. The telephoto on the Pro was super nice, but the curved screen was awful - hit edge of screen when holding phone. I'm going to put on a case, which should help, but the feel in the hand and curved screen were enough to push me to save the $.
I'm on T-mobile, who theoretically have some mmwave coverage, but at least today I don't think I am going to miss those bands in real-time use (heck, the LTE bands barely penetrate my building).

If you like bigger, more development, and price point, then try the Pro...

I do have both phones. Wife murdering me ugh.
Ordered the Cloudy White Pixel 6 Pro originally, and had it delivered, and upon opening the box and looking over this super cool new phone, the curved edge display jumped out at me, not in a good way. The screen edges looked like an old Samsung Galaxy phone from years ago, just a dated look, and they add absolutely nothing useful to the phone. Feels more like a Samsung phone, not a Google Pixel.
Plus tapping on the phone or using the keyboard, there's this strange hollow feel behind the 6 Pro, hard to describe until you have it in your hands, but it feels sort of cheap.
I then went to T-Mobile, picked up a Seamfoam green Pixel 6, and my goodness, night and day better. Just feels rock solid, the FLAT screen a dream. This Pixel 6 feels more Google type, and just a nicer phone to hold and use.
But I will admit, the 6 Pro does feel slightly faster and smoother than the 6.

If you have to question if the extra $300 is worth it for the 6 Pro, just go for the 6. The 6 is the Pixel for most people anyway. I went with the 6 Pro because I want the best Google has to offer and the 6 isn't it. I'm a previous 2 XL and 4 XL owner.

And that's just it. I always go for the bigger model, but times are a little tough right now, which is the only reason I'm even debating one or the other

Lol this guy knows what he's talking about. I love the pixel 6 pro. When i walked into best buy 2 weeks ago, i instantly noticed a stark difference between it and the normal 6. The resolution difference is immediately noticeable. The smoothness, also instantly noticable. People that say they don't notice a difference between 90 and 120hz, well, all i can say is these people need their eyes checked. It's as obvious as night and day.
The biggest thing that left an unfavorable taste in my mouth, was how much the normal pixel 6 looks like a phone that was released in early 2018. Those. Massive. Antiquated. Bezels. Those bezels are simply to huge and gross. Also nobody seems to be pointing out the obvious. The build quality on the 6 looks very lackluster, and way less premium than the 6 pro . Just my two cents.
Do i wish the pixel 6 pro had a less curved screen? Sure, of course. After using the phone though, the curves are so appealing to the design asthetic, and it rests so ergonomically and beautifully in the hand. Google was also careful to design the curves to not refract light to much, or cause app padding/distortion. I love this device.
Many people or complaining about the fingerprint sensor and saying it's bad. It's not quite fast as OP9 Pro, but it's simply excellent. I have four prints for each thumb, screen sensitivity is set to to on and it's blazing fast and works every time.
Now, with that said, there most definitely are some legitimate complaints about this device, in my opinion. That unequivocally would be the charging speed, and the color reproduction. Thanks to some awesome third party apps, this problem is completely fixed. My device charges at more than acceptable speed, and the colors have a vibrant, slightly cooler whitepoint. No more beyond fugly piss colored screen. I'm on cloud 9.

Bro do what you want, but 60 hz should be banned and retired. Without exaggeration, it really is that bad. Stuttery, janky, and looks horrible. Not only that, but the battery savings are not profound. To make matters even worse, it's been reported by Ars Technica, that 60 hz on the pro is currently inexplicably worse battery life than 120hz. I know, i know, that makes zero sense.
Bottom line is 60 hz should be removed completely from 2021 devices for scrolling in my opinion. 60 hz was decent a few years ago, because we simply didn't know any better. We don't know what we don't know. The experience with it is horrible. The screen LTPO should only fluctuate between 90 and 120, for movement IMHO. Of course once the screen goes static, i don't care if the hz stops down to 30, as long as it's hidden well, once you touch the screen again.

According to reviews the P6 struggles to keep thermals in check and gets hot. While the P6P remains cooler, according to comparisons.

Can I ask you what third party app you used to change color reproduction ?

The thick bezels on the regular 6 are a turn off for me, so the P6P it is despite the LTPO display being limited by the SOC's lack of Auto-VRR switching
Not even a $300 tag would justify those bezels which look more like a ploy to upsell you to the (arguably) more aesthetically pleasing P6P

I couldn't agree with this more. I'm surprised that the masses don't see this. There's tons of dumb posts of people thinking the P6 is a better choice, on Reddit and this forum. Scratching my head.

People are bound to justify their purchase decisions despite contrary facts presented. Case in point, people accepting the Notch, first brought to market by Essential and made popular by Apple
I like how every new product release brings to light the previous version's shortcomings but people are too eager to justify their next new purchase, time and time again, with Capitalism ensuring that each version of product has at least one deliberate flaw introduced that is conveniently fixed with a brand new purchase of the next iteration. Never Settle

I'm sure the P6 is exactly what some folks need, and hard to justify a 50% ($300) price difference for P6P. If they had a 512 GB model of the P6, I would've considered it, and it's at least slightly smaller - some folks don't want a bigger phone, and having a flat-screen is at least some advantage.
