So, when I pick my own wallpaper for the lockscreen, which is a picture of my family, it shows on the lockscreen as fairly dark/blue-ish. However, when I use a wallpaper from the phone, like say, the live Earth one, it's totally fine. I've tried a few different pictures, all are the same. If I tap the screen it lightens up even. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix it? The same pictures showed fine on my s7 edge.
They also show fine as a regular wallpaper FYI.
Seriously? No one else?
The lockscreen has a slight darkened filter over whatever image you put. Unlock and it's fine. I just tried with my own and Living Universe wallpapers, even the live Earth one. Looks like that's just the way it is.

Quick question,
I went over the themes section and downloaded a football logo to save as my wallpaper. Well I always have this problem where I would like for the whole picture to be my wallpaper instead of a zoomed in blurred piece of it. I downloaded the Colts logo and you're forced to crop the stupid thing and i get a worthless part of the horseshoe. Is there a way to make it so that it doesn't crop every single image?
Stretch the frame within the picture...tried that?
SWYPED from my SUPASONIC
still crops it funny
Somebody was asking this earlier, never have any issues stretching the frame to get the full picture..?

There's always a wallpaper app in the market that will set you wallpaper perfect if you're having issues..
It's called Wallpaper Set & Save I think.
When I was on fresh's rom, or any sense one for that matter, it seemed like when you cropped it, the picture was resized to fit the screen and still had great quality. With cm6, even if stretching the full frame, it zooms in on the picture and gives you a crappy blurred looking wallpaper.

Downloaded one that worked quite well. Don't know why I didn't think of this. Thanks!

Interesting, thanks! For future purposes but setting a wp seems just the same with CM6 as before. Strangeness.

I mean, I understand why the background auto-rotate when we tilt the phone. When accelerometer detect the phone tilt, the screen tilt and the background tilt w/ it. And that's kinda make sense. But, the problem is when you have a tight crop person as a background, and set the background to be non-scrolling. Then I think it's obvious that the background want to be set static in a certain way. Currently I have not found a way to lock the background wallpaper. I mean as I rotate the screen I want everything else to rotate and get landscape/portrait UI as necessary, but the background remain the same whether portrait or landscape. Well, I have yet to found a way. The only thing I came across is to disable accelerometer, but that's not very a solution. Anyone know how to do this?
Thank you,
The only thing I can think of is to find an app on the market that will manage your wallpapers for you. I know they have apps that will set a seperate wallpaper for each homescreen, so maybe there's one that allows seperate wallpapers for both portrait and landscape.
As far as finding a checkbox in Android to do this, there isn't one.

Is there a way to make the lockscreen wallpaper good quality like the homescreen one? It seems the lockscreen is allways a lower quality, also while im at it is there a status bar transparency mod for jedi x?

Turning off "Ripple Effect" in Lock Screen Option will make lockscreen quality same as home screen. Of course, you won't have anymore ripple effect or ink effect but oh well
That gets rid of those dark blotches on the ls as well.

make sure the wallpaper you're using is the right resolution, if you crop the photo it will stretch to fit and ruin quality
Finally found a thread where I can help out! Okay, so I have this problem ALL the time; not only is it a big deal finding photos with the right resolution for this gigantic phone but it is also a pain setting up the wallpaper because you're only subjected to a certain size by the system. Here is how I found my ways across this problem.
1. Use wallpaper wizardrii here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.twistedapps.wallpaperwizardrii
Use this app to stretch the wallpaper to fit your launcher.
2. If your photo is too small of a resolution to where it'd look like a Super Mario SNES game on your background use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.niksoftware.snapseed
Snapseed not only has a sexy UI but is very reliable and I use it for low resolution photos. Now what you do for things like this is adjust the sharpness of the photo, not to where it looks like it was drawn by a pencil but to where the blurs disappear. I also adjust the contrast and saturate my photos but only when it's a sexy wallpaper.
Finally, and this is the last of all resorts.. use Photoshop for your computer and literally adjust almost every single pixel to resize your wallpaper to a newer and bigger size. This is my last resort ever, I've done this once, it took 6 hours for that to be fixed and I'll never do that ever again.

Available on Play.
This is an small app that lets you crop an image freely when trying to set the wallpaper or lock screen background.
In the Jelly Bean stock and stock-based ROMs, is not possible to properly set the home and lock screen wallpapers, due to a nice new feature of keeping the crop box aspect fixed to a square, but the area to be cropped is a smaller rectangle.
When trying to set the lock screen wallpaper with a portrait image, the always squared crop box touches the lateral borders of the image, forcing you to select a much smaller area -possibly scaling the picture-, and thus leaving us in a less than optimal situation, unhappy with our powerful pocket computer that could do much better with such a trivial task.
This lazily done app comes as an option when you try to set a wallpaper, and just calls the stock Gallery app with a crop action without the aspectX and aspectY parameters that lock the aspect of the crop box.
Note: This app needs the stock Gallery or Note 2 Gallery.
UPDATE:
2013/16/22 [v1.51]
- Fixed character encoding error in image paths.
- Other minor fixes.
2013/06/09 [v1.5]
- Prevents hiding part of wallpaper behind status bar.
- Lock screen wallpaper can be cropped to any size.
- Can work with AOSP's Gallery.
- Launcher icon with settings for some of the above features.
- Fixed screen rotation bugs.
If wallpaper scrolling is enabled, it's better to select an squared area or wider, or else you will see black bars to the sides or a scaled image. This version lets you choose what happens in that case.
2013/05/06
- Works with Quickpic.
- Better lockscreen wallpaper size (checks status bar height).
- Home screen wallpaper maximum width is 960; minimum is 800.
- Checks if lockscreen wallpaper is writable. If not, S2 Gallery handles it.
2013/05/05
- Handles all lock screen wallpaper process. Works on Note 2 Gallery.
MAY NEED ROOT. This works by saving the image directly to the Gallery data folder.
- Lock screen crop box is fixed to match the screen.
- No lateral black bars in home screen.
- Signed. You must uninstall the previous version before trying to install this one.
- Kick ass icon.
2013/04/23
- Processes and sets Home wallpaper to prevent zooming.
- Checks whether the Gallery activity exists.
Tested with the Gallery Note 2 and seems to be doing OK. However, when setting lock screen, the cropping rectangle has locked aspect, but still it lets you crop any image properly.
Please point any fault you find, I'll try to find time to work on them. And all suggestions are welcome.
Works great. Cheers.

I'm sorry, I have only tested this in Neat Rom. It must work on WanamLite as well. The app requires the stock gallery apk (SecGallery2.apk, package name com.sec.android.gallery3d). I'll make it check for some possible errors.
I m using Note2gallery and this app is not working
Handy.....thanks

There's still some problems: Sometimes the lock screen BG will be stretched, and the home screen will be zoomed if you try to select an area close to the sides of the image. But mostly works great for the lock screen.

I made some updates. Hope it's fixed for those who where having problems.
Hello,
I just got my G3 a few days ago. Overall I love it. However this morning I tried out a couple wallpapers from Zedge and Background HD.. after changing my wallpaper I noticed that everytime I exit an app, any app, the wallpaper in the background tears up for a sec or so, then it goes back to normal.. Not really a big deal but still a little annoying since it happens EVERY time after I exit an app.. I don't remember this happening when I first got my phone.. anyone else noticing the same? If so is there a solution? Seems like something a simple patch would do.
Thank you in advance!

I did notice the same behavior with wallpapers applied by Zedge. Then I decided to try to set up the wallpaper by the default way and it worked, the flaw is gone.
Try it.
It seems that the issue returned here. I don't know how to solve, appears to be random.
I've got same problem after just few hours of using brand new LG G3. I've set one wallpaper using Backgrounds HD and it was blinking, tearing apart, and changing ratio. So I switched back to one of stock wallpapers, the one I liked and it is doing same thing. So I tried to change whole skin but it changed nothing and it really annoys me. :/

I think some of these wallpaper apps need to be updated to support the QuadHD resolution. If you download the wallpaper to a computer, then copy it to the phone and install it normally (not using an app) it should work fine. I've used lots of different images as wallpaper without any issues.
I will try to do it this way and I think it will work. The problem is (in my opinion) that switching back to one of OS stock wallpapers doesn't solve the issue. The only moment phone wallpaper acts normal is when I reset theme. It applies only to default theme wallpaper. As I have my LG for only a day or so, I might consider factory reset :/
Edit:
Ok, so I stopped Backgrounds HD service, cleared its data and now all works fine. So the problem was in this particular applications service. Now I know, setting wallpapers from application is not a good idea.
