Hello,
I just got my G3 a few days ago. Overall I love it. However this morning I tried out a couple wallpapers from Zedge and Background HD.. after changing my wallpaper I noticed that everytime I exit an app, any app, the wallpaper in the background tears up for a sec or so, then it goes back to normal.. Not really a big deal but still a little annoying since it happens EVERY time after I exit an app.. I don't remember this happening when I first got my phone.. anyone else noticing the same? If so is there a solution? Seems like something a simple patch would do.
Thank you in advance!

I did notice the same behavior with wallpapers applied by Zedge. Then I decided to try to set up the wallpaper by the default way and it worked, the flaw is gone.
Try it.
It seems that the issue returned here. I don't know how to solve, appears to be random.
I've got same problem after just few hours of using brand new LG G3. I've set one wallpaper using Backgrounds HD and it was blinking, tearing apart, and changing ratio. So I switched back to one of stock wallpapers, the one I liked and it is doing same thing. So I tried to change whole skin but it changed nothing and it really annoys me. :/

I think some of these wallpaper apps need to be updated to support the QuadHD resolution. If you download the wallpaper to a computer, then copy it to the phone and install it normally (not using an app) it should work fine. I've used lots of different images as wallpaper without any issues.
I will try to do it this way and I think it will work. The problem is (in my opinion) that switching back to one of OS stock wallpapers doesn't solve the issue. The only moment phone wallpaper acts normal is when I reset theme. It applies only to default theme wallpaper. As I have my LG for only a day or so, I might consider factory reset :/
Edit:
Ok, so I stopped Backgrounds HD service, cleared its data and now all works fine. So the problem was in this particular applications service. Now I know, setting wallpapers from application is not a good idea.

Just switched from a very problematic MT4G (went through 5 of them) to the G2, and so far I'm very happy with the switch. However, I noticed that a lot of my images (photos & wallpaper) seem to have a slightly yellow/green tint to them. Is there any way to change the color saturation on this phone, and has anyone else experienced this as well?
Thanks.

I've noticed my device's screen has a bit "warmer" color temperature than would seem to be preferred by most users. My previous unit from T-Mobile was not like this at all, and noticeably "cooler"/more blue.
Dunno what to tell you.
Cynageon Mod has render effects to calabrate the screen
ah yes im not the only one who has noticed this, this is my second g2 as to the first i had bad pixels nd exchanged it, i had hd2 and i notice that the hd2 has a more vivid color and g2 has a more calm and warmer colors
can you please tell where are these settings?

they have predefined settings blue, red, green, N1... is there a way to change them?
My phone has something like this I think the photos look blurry in some spots especially in street view mode on the maps.... I don't know if its because cm7 or not

With this app there is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=745248
Use Root Explorer to place it in /system/app, change permissions to 644 (rw-r--r--), and reboot.
Not sure if it works with the latest CM7 nightly, but I tried it a couple weeks back with whatever CM7 nightly and it worked fine. Unless you have a baseline though, it's hard to know what to adjust it to.
I have a calibrated monitor and if I hold the phone next to it with the same photo on each, the G2 screen looks just a bit cool with the default CM render effect (no render effect). The calibrated N1 setting is too warm, so it's somewhere in between them.
I was going to mess with it further, but I'm ok with my screen as is.
Hey guys, I own my hox now for 2 weeks and updated it to the latest 1.29 version but I still notice some glitches so I just wanted to check if it's only with me or you all have them and they are a part of the software just not finished yet.
First of all I have set my screen brightness to automatic but every once and a while I notice the screen brightness going to maximum or some other value and when I access the menu I can see that automatic brightness is unchecked. Also when scrolling with live wallpaper the live wallpaper is freezing.
Anyway I think that this is not HTC style, releasing a product that is not ready yet, as I owned Desire and I was quite happy with it.
Thanks

About the autobrightness i am not sure, i dont have that issue.
But the live wallpaper is "normal", we have to wait for HTC to fix that (i hope with the next OTA).
P.S. you post this in the wrong place, this is for the Q/A thread
I have noticed this too when trying to disable delivery reports in messaging the option never saves.

I also forgot to mention that sometimes my scene is mixing my icons i.e. I get different widgets on my home screen. This are very odd glitches and in my opinion very immature from htc, releasing this kind of undeveloped device

Hmmm, you probably need to perform a factory reset
I don't know if it's an Android M thing or Nexus 5X issue but anyone notice the scrolling looks "weird?"
Meaning when you scroll through a page in Chrome, the text letters on the page kind of fade out for a sec. Once the scrolling stops, the text fades in.
I've been playing around with it some more and the text definitely fades out when scrolling. It's also unclear.
Only when the scrolling stops do the text fade in and the words became clear.
Do you by chance have magnification gesture enabled in accessibility settings? That will cause weird scrolling
No, it's not on.
I swear I'm not going crazy.
Text will fade out/fuzz out when scrolling. Once the scrolling stops, the text fades in and becomes legible.

Very odd. It does this exact same thing with the zoom/magnification gesture on. Have you tweaked anything and forgot about it in dev options maybe? Any apps that could affect this? Just reaching for straws I am
It's brand new out of the box. I haven't touched any of the settings.
Beginning to wonder if this unit is defective.

Could be. Did you get the ~43MB update and install it? Have you rebooted?
Its more seen if the brightness is low right? Yea. Its because of samsung amoled panel. The downside is .. That. Its because the screen controller latency is too high because it need to power on and power off EVERY SINGLE PIXEL. Lol. K

The Nexus 5X has an LCD panel. Although I do know what you're talking about with some AMOLED panels

Yeah, got the update when I first turned it on.
Rebooted after the update. Same thing.

I'll give it a shot. It that doesn't work, I guess this needs to go back.
Maybe its the hardware?

It does it on mine as well, but I hadn't noticed until I looked for it, but I see what you mean, it doesn't do it on the older Nexus 5, but the scrolling seems smoother on the 5X almost as if it is a deliberate thing they have done to help our eyes follow rapidly moving text, but it may just be the way they have decided to drive the panel pixels.
It isn't a fault.

Phil
I have the exact same issue.
I noticed that in static mode the font is looking good, but when I start scrolling, the font looks thinner and less clear.
I have this issue in all apps (Facebook, Chrome, Whatsapp etc). It looks a bit cheap.
If this is setting, I'd love to know how to fix this.
hey,
is there a fix for this issue?
thanks
It seems that it is an LCD panel feature. I've also this behavior on my nexus 5x (511, Mint).
I've also can clearly see pixels on a white background
Didn't notice anything like that on a Nexus 5 though.
It's the LCD panel. All LCD panels are lazy. Especially when it's cold. Try to use it below 5 or 0 celsius. This lazyness effect is more visible then. It's winter now. You won't see it as much in summer.
so the question is, if i will replace the device this thing will apear again?
I've seen that happen on LCD screens too. I believe the problem might be FPS(frames per second). You aren't achieving 30 FPS or more when scrolling thus making the screen look blurry/ faded text when scrolling. Most likely cause of this is either the GPU not able to push 30> fps or LCD latency(highly doubt).
Try different websites and report back.(some sites are resource hog and might slow down your phone) ex. try sites that you know doesn't have ton of ads
Try different browser. (some browsers like opera mini are less resource hungry and might improve rendering on screen)
Try other apps as a last resort.
if the blurry text is from LCD then LG made a poor decision on picking a low frequency screen. maybe 60hz (LCD screen refreshes 60 times)
Coming from an M7, this is really annoying, especially when scrolling through Twitter.
So, when I pick my own wallpaper for the lockscreen, which is a picture of my family, it shows on the lockscreen as fairly dark/blue-ish. However, when I use a wallpaper from the phone, like say, the live Earth one, it's totally fine. I've tried a few different pictures, all are the same. If I tap the screen it lightens up even. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix it? The same pictures showed fine on my s7 edge.
They also show fine as a regular wallpaper FYI.
Seriously? No one else?
The lockscreen has a slight darkened filter over whatever image you put. Unlock and it's fine. I just tried with my own and Living Universe wallpapers, even the live Earth one. Looks like that's just the way it is.

I set a wallpaper in Google wallpapers app, then after some 20-30min when I turn the screen off the wallpaper changes to a blue one with the image of some mountains...
And it keeps changing to it no matter what wallpaper I set.
How do I make it stay on the wallpaper I selected? It's making me nuts!
Never seen anything like this
On Oreo preview.
Take a bug report and post it to the thread so @TheCrazyLex can take a look at it cause this sounds like a bug.
Has this issue happened multiple times and does it happen every time you execute those steps?
A bug report zip generated directly after this happened would be useful.
Actually looking at the reviews of the Google wallpaper app it looks like other people have the same issue with the app on different devices.
I would think that this is an app issue then.
