My wife and I have an Mi6, but her device came unlocked.
Problem with this is that as it's unlocked, she can't download Netflix from Playstore.
Same situation happens with other apps so, my idea is to install stable global rom and let the device locked.
Hopefully someone will be able to give me a hand.
Thanks in advance.

i found this but it is chinese hope you can understand or you can use chrome to translate it
Method1: You can flash stock rom and choose "clean_all_and_lock" at the bottom, this way you will lock bl.
http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
Method2:
The other way is to type
Code:
fastboot oem lock
but this ain't as safe as the first method if you have custom recovery

No custom recovery. It is seems the rom she has is beta.
I will check first option to leave her phone with latest global stable release as she's not used to root.

Hi there,
Have you already tried sideloading the Netflix app on your wife's device?
I never tried that, but I guess the app is not available only through the Playstore.

Yes, I've downloaded the app from Apk mirror.
However, my wife is not so much into technology, so she will not do this every time. This is why I want her to have global stable locked, so she can use Playstore with no problems.
thanks

Hi hope someone can verify.
I'm running stock 3.2.7 unrooted with stock recovery. The bootloader is still unlocked as I tried out a few custom ROMs about a month back. I now want to wipe and sell the phone so need to lock the bootloader. Can I just do the standard OEM lock in adb or should I also sideload the full 3.2.7 update zip again?
Thanks
just oem lock it. but everything will be removed when you do that.

Thanks, I thought so but I had to check. Strange... after rooting phones and installing custom ROMs for maybe 8 years, I don't think I've ever relocked a bootloader.
It's safer to flash stock again then to relock bootloader, even if you think you are stock (including recovery) maybe you are not.
But except the booting screen, you won't gain anything from relocking bootloader, even the warranty will work with bootloader unlocked.

Thanks, but I plan to sell my OP3 to a high street store that buys and sells second-hand phones and tablets. Although it's only 3 months old and in immaculate condition, I'm guessing they may be reluctant to buy it if the start up screen says 'this phone can't be trusted...'
No choice in this situation - I will need to relock the bootloader I guess.
If you lock the bootloader, everything will be wiped and phone won't boot till you flash OOS.

Ta mate. I already saw that thread but as I'm running a clean sideloaded OOS that has never been rooted, I am already back to stock. Anyway, as opinion seems to be divided on whether OEM lock alone is enough, I will also sideload a full OOS update zip again to be sure.
Won't be doing it for a few days though so it's all academic at the moment.

i did that guide too. i came from cm13. thiss guide works perfect if you follow all steps exactly.
I have a LG G4 since almost the release of it. I had it rooted and with an unlocked bootloader since now. I decided to use it as my daily though to pay with it using Google Pay. So I re-flashed the stock v29a zip provided by LG and did the "fastboot oem lock" command. The bootloader locked, the rom is fully stock now without any modification. Why Google pay still says that the phone is altered and after checking Safetynet with an app on play store, fails? Also On Play Store the phone appears Uncertified... What is the problem?

Just an idea, take a look at your build.prop and see if anything looks off. Maybe you need to format some partitions before flashing the stock zip?
Cheers!
Thanks for the reply. I think the zip is flashing all the partitions.I checked for TWRP and did a factory reset after the flash to make sure it's as stock as it can get. Now for the build.prop I also think that it needs root to check and edit it right? If not what sould I look for?

I think that certain partitions need to be formatted you might want to search about that. I think TWRP can access the build.prop but not sure. I suggested checking build.prop because it will show different models, builds and basically would be an easy way to see if you are truly back to stock.
Good luck!
Thanks! I would have to install TWRP again maybe ?

Perhaps T-Mo are just jerks.
OnePlus global firmware and installer doesn't care if you're rooted or not, through 10.0.7 at least. It'll download and install the full ROM image and install.
Did anyone ever manage to take the update here?

Hey guys! I have figured it out. It's the same reason why the McLaren version can't accept a OTA. The reserve.img file is missing due to unlocking the boot loader. I had version 10.0.3 installed and found a un-brick tool to return it back to stock. After that it worked just fine.

You are absolutely correct.. Would you be willing to do a device restore again and pull that reserve.img for us all? We can then make an OTA package for everyone else.

I would be honered to help you.. Can you please tell me what version of OOS your running? And I'm going to assume you are already bootloader unlocked? If so, please visit https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7t/how-to/guide-how-to-root-oneplus-7t-twrp-t3979307
Download one of the patched_boot images and reboot your phone into the bootloader and run "fastboot boot patched_boot.img" (This will give you temp root)
Install magisk manager from https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/tag/manager-v7.5.1
Open Magisk and select install. Go thru the install process as this will patch YOUR current boot image.
I'd recommend making a backup of your current boot image before installing the magisk into your current bootimg. You can open an adb shell and do "su" then "dd if=/dev/block/by-name/boot_a of=/sdcard/boot_a.img" or "dd if=/dev/block/by-name/boot_b of=/sdcard/boot_b.img" depending on if your current slot is A or B.

2: Reboot to fastboot
3: Via fastboot on a PC, flash the attached boot IMG (fastboot flash boot "directory to boot IMG, can drag and drop")

Hi,
I have rooted my P6 Pro to test a few things and now want to go back to stock rom with locked bootloader from Magisk.
I have the bootloader currently unlocked and security and verity disabled.
I have looked at android flash .com as it was suggested was the easiest way but I cannot even find the roms to flash none of the build numbers match my device which is currently oriole-sd1a.210817.036-factory-297ee25a.zip
This is the rom I want to flash back and re lock everything back to stock.
Thanks in advance.
If you rooted your Pixel 6 pro using Magisk, unrooting it will be easy. There is an official Uninstall Magisk button in the app just tap on it, and select Complete to uninstall. The application will work on the uninstall process and automatically restart. Then you'll be back to normal.
