I'm not sure if this is an 8.1 bug as it seems it started on android 8, 48 hours ago but has gotten worse on 8.1 after the update overnight.
The last 3 days I was running Android 8 and the phone suddenly started to reboot a once or twice a day.
I've received the 8.1 upgrade notice last night because I'm apart of the beta program, so I started the upgrade.
the software updated to 8.1 last night... It wasn't smooth at all, the device rebooted 5 or 6 times during the automatic update.
When I woke up it was running 8.1 but the rebooting continues now, but happens more often... The phone has rebooted 4 times in the last 3 hours.
To make clear, the frequent reboot started a couple of days ago on Android 8 and has continued to 8.1
If the phone is left alone, it will not reboot, it'll sit, and not reboot....when you wake it you can use it.....but when i'm moving through any apps with normal movement, it seems to freeze for a few seconds and then either go back to normal or reboot.
whether it's pocketcasts, text messenger, or the google play store app, it will freeze for a moment, sometimes go back to normal, sometimes reboot.
I have sent the logs along with the details to the beta program and i'm waiting to hear from them.
Is there anyone else i might be sending this issue to
What might be wrong?
dd a reset and that seems to have solved the problem......running 8.1 and the reboots have stopped....we'll wait and see
Using pixel xl for almost 1 month with last oreo rom, 2 random reboots, i´m very disapointed with google, but to be honest i was expecting this, since google devices , especially last ones, are not reliable at all.
I've been in the beta program since I've got my Pixel. Only issue I've had so far is AirDroid is broken on 8.1 Beta. Everything else is working 100% that I do personally. YMMV
Today is my first real day testing battery life on Beta so I'll see how it goes.

So, this has been bugging me for some time now, but this morning I've had enough. What happens is that I put apps to update trough the Google Play store, and my phone becomes really slow and the download/install speed is even worse. I just put about 12 apps to update, all small apps. It took the phone almost an hour to update and there were still 4 left that weren't. Tried using FB Messenger to talk to my GF and the phone just hanged and wouldn't respond for at least a minute.
I've had the Redmi Note 3 from my GF for a while, and that thing installed apps like nothing. It was really fast and as soon it downloaded the installation started and almost instantly finished. Compared to my G4, it was a pleasure to watch that.
Is anyone else having similar problems? I have a H815 bootloader unlocked with Genisys Rom 2.2.1 on it. And, I've had this problem on every stock based MM and LP ROM, tho not sure if I had it on a CM or AOSP based ROM.
After about 1,5 weeks of usage, the camera cannot be started anymore since a few hours.
Rebooted a few times already. There is a popup stating that the "camera could not be started, either reboot or restart the camera".
It worked a few hours ago and since then nothing happened with the phone.
I cleared the cache of the "camera" app and made a fresh start. Other camera apps also do not work.
What happened? :/
EDIT: I did a factory reset and the camera is working again...
Just out of curiosity what build were you on when this happened. I only noticed the problem after I updated to the latest update version ending in .225.
The only way I was able to fix it was by powering off the phone and then powering it back on because clearing the cache/restarting it didn't work. It worked fine for a while after the first power off but then it started giving me the same error after a few hours. So now I powered off a second time and it's been about 12 hours since and so far no issues....
Next time, take a bug report from developer settings, and post it in their official forum.
Had the same problem twice in the first week of the phone, looks like hang after U use the super slowmo and dont close the app. at least was both times after using the slowmo and just locking the phone
Just started getting this error in the last few days. Most of the time a reboot fixes the issue. Sometimes it takes several reboots. BTW, I did the most recent software update a couple weeks ago.
Had the same issue, it also causes a battery drain.
The app BetterBatteryStats showed a 100% kernel wakelocks of the process "Sony,camera_modules".
My battery drained from 100 to 40% in 4 hours with just 10 minute screentime.
I've expierenced camera cannot be started error now 8 times, rebooting temporary solves the problem...
Hopefully a OTA update will solve this problem.
Hi, i have the same problem with latest .225 built
Camera works but black screen, and after 3 or 4 times crashed.
The only fix is wait an update by sony??
Me too. Same problem. I had to Factory reset. It pissed me off....
Now sometimes it appears but i reboot and then goes back .
I confirm i have the same problem with the latest firmware but i have it one time with an old one to. For me it's happens when i close the camera app while i have the phone on horizontal. Some time to recover i just open the camera with the phone horizontally but sometimes i need to clear data and restart the phone to make it work again XD
Maybe the wrong thread, but is there a way to take motion photos (like in gcam) on the XZ2 Compact?
Ever since I believe around the 3rd Android 9 beta update, pandora kept crashing on my Android Auto. I was hoping the full "street" version of 9 released yesterday would resolve this but it didnt. I also noticed the screen on my car blacking out at times and then coming back on during android auto. The problem is I can go a song or two on pandora and then it stops and says pandora inaccessible on the screen and then a new song starts playing. Sometimes, it will cut off 3 songs in a row within the first minute of each song. Its really frustrating and I cant tell if its a pandora thing or android auto thing. Used to think it was a beta thing but thats clearly not it anymore.
I do keep my phone in my cupholder area and was wondering if when the proximity or light sensor gets changed in there, would that affect anything? It didnt before, Im just wondering if theres any new settings that could be making that change.
My original pixel xl did that on the betas but I replaced that phone with a pixel 2 xl over the weekend and I haven't noticed it happening with the new phone.

I even tried turning off battery management in the app and lowering the audio quality like I read in a couple other places but neither worked. Its still crapping out and then starting a new song.
Just saw an update from AA so hopefully that works. Ill report back.
My A2 lite started to do some random reboots
This only started a few days ago and mainly occurs at night. Another person's redmi note 6 pro also started with random reboots a few days ago.
This is very strange and most likely due to an app...
Anyone else has this problem?

Experienced one random reboot yesterday, since updating to stable pie (no random reboot with Oreo). My thoughts, pie not fully ironed out yet. And to add, the reboot happened when phone fully stock, without additional apps installed, only hotspot switched on.
Some app is crashing, try a factory reset
Ever since upgrading to 12 on my Verizon Android 12 the phone has been sluggish and glitchy.
Every single thing opens slowly or is unresponsive for a bit.
I had no issues on Android 11.
I tried resetting the phone and without restoring the phone is still sluggish (though a bit better).
Apps launch slowly and the overall snappiness of the phone is very bad.
Is there a way to downgrade to Android 11?

Same here!! I've been searching for a fix... Don't seem to be an easy one available yet..?
After the phone quit downloading all the crapware the phone got much faster on Android 12 (after the reset).
I'd still rather download and install the 11 ROM. But it is 3GB and the lgup download location is transferring at 10kbps so it's gonna take a week or two to download lol.
See my cross-post here:
Android 12 on V50 is terrible
I upgraded a month or so ago. The phone became sluggish and glitchy apps took forever to launch scrolling Facebook became jittery. Terrible update. I then finally backed up my phone and reset it. Now the fresh install is randomly installing apps. I am so sick of android/Verizon installing...

Welp.
I had major problems with g'board after the android 12 os upgrade.
I tried using a separate keyboard; it wasn't better.
keyboard would refuse to launch in my messenger+ app amongst other apps.
Later, once I reset the phone to factory the keyboard problem was reduced. But it has slowly grown in frequency until I had to uninstall g'board and use LG keyboard. That worked for a bit, until the same thing happened. I now have zero keyboards that show up when I am trying to type a message.
Yay thanks Android12/LG (( Booo stupid update is bad.
